  1. You're right, @SeanC. I keep forgetting that part of the rule. Thanks.
  2. Yes, Daleman was 11 and Chartrand was 22, so 33 (the third skater didn't make the cut to skate in the Free, although only the highest two counts). They needed to place a combined 28 or less for 2 places next year. Yikes! And if they slip very far in Men (they are currently 13 and 14), they might only have one spot next year there.
  3. It goes by placement and the number of skaters. If a country only has one skater, a top 10 finish gives the country two spots next year. This is what happened with the USA in pairs this year. If a country has two (or three) skaters, the two places have to add up to 13 or less to send three the next year. Bradie was 7th and Mariah 9th, so their total is 16. The USA still can send two next year, since their total was 28 or less. There are a little different rules for Olympics but that's still three years away.
  4. Unfortunately, Bradie and Mariah did not do well enough to get the USA three places in next year's Worlds, but it had to be hard for Mariah to skate as well as she did with all the controversy going on. As far as dance, the second, third, fourth and fifth place teams are separated by less than a point and sixth (Chock/Bates) is barely a point behind second. So silver and bronze is really up for grabs. Should be a great final.
  5. Actually, the US usually has two pairs at World. There was only one US pair at Olympics because of the limits of participants, but we had two pairs at last year's Worlds. They just scored terribly and lost a spot. Yay, USA, for having three of the four top spots after the short! Hanyu popped his opening quad Salchow, so he got no points for it but was lovely for the rest of his program. And Jason Brown showed a well done triple beats a shaky quad every time.
  6. And I am trained as a lawyer and I can't tell you the number of times where the lack of an Oxford comma has caused an interpretation by the courts not intended by the legislature.
  7. Was it an Oxford comma, @saber5055?
  8. 3/5. I alternated being right and having no idea.
  9. She's a Pearson. Longwinded speeches are like breathing for them. I didn't like him in the beginning, but I am definitely Team Miguel now. The look of happiness on his face when He thought Toby was serious only to have him crushed a second later was heartbreaking.
  10. Helen's boyfriend, the clairvoyant patient, and Max and Helen themselves realized that Max and Helen are attracted to each other. Bloom stole pills from another resident while helping her through an overdose and although she didn't take them, she wanted to. Apparently, Bloom thinks she will only be allowed to practice if her desire for drugs no longer exists. I thought that the fact she went to the counselor to confess taking the pills was a huge sign that she was on the road to recovery. Remind me never to be in a hospital during a natural disaster. Between New Amsterdam and Grey-Sloan on Grey's Anatomy, it is clear that hospitals are the worst place to be. Stay away from the generators, Max!
  11. Now that the hospital has gotten rid of Dr. Han and his big salary, it will have enough money to hire radiology techs and transport people. No way are TWO surgical residents wheeling out a discharged patient. .
  12. That's my theory, too. If the show just wanted her medical data she'd do the tests in hospital. She's going to find a long lost parent/sibling with this kit. the only question is will the sib/parent be cast or somebody we already know. Because, yes it would be ABSURD if Jo was another long lost Ellis kid, but, you know this show is absurd. What if Jo is a long lost Shepherd kid or, even better, a long lost Thatcher Grey kid? Surely Meredith needs another sister.
  13. Orrin said that she had her own reasons for hating the Krill. I am fanwanking that she was not a teenager but that her species just looks young.
  14. I remember Wang's tech support motto: If your Wang is down, we'll bring it up!
  15. Ooops! You're right, @LiveenLetLive. Sorry. But we Queens never really pay attention to the servants anyway.
  16. After Albert found out from Bertie that Feo intended to have Heidi marry Louis Napoleon, he goes in a fury to Victoria to tell her that she was right and that Feo is an evil manipulator. Feo comes in and Albert lets her have it. Feo reiterates that she should have been Queen and says she and Heidi will leave in the morning. Victoria runs after Feo to tell beg her to stay (?). She tells Feo that she doesn't have everything; she doesn't have a sister. Feo walks away crying. Sophie comes down the staircase with a small suitcase when her son appears, telling her he had a nightmare that he couldn't find her. Sophie stops. Cut to scene of James waiting alone at the train station, looking forlorn. Later that night, Victoria finds Albert staring out the window at the Crystal Palace. They converse about how successful the Exhibition is. They head off arm and arm, presumably for some nookie, when Albert collapses. The season ends with Albert motionless on the floor with Victoria holding him, screaming his name.
  17. 2/4 with 1 *. Is it wrong that I feel proud I got a FJ that stumped the All Stars?
  18. Why is everyone concentrating on Shaun's diagnostic skills? As a surgical resident, shouldn't his skill with the scalpel be what's important? It is important to know what is wrong with the patient, but that is what pathology and other diagnostic departments do. Surgeons cut. Isn't that what Shaun should be judged on?
  19. Well, Austin just upped my hate level; he called all those who don't like the All Stars format losers. And I was starting to warm up to him after seeing his "old hippies" parents. No more.
  20. 2/4 with one *. I said Emma Goldberg instead of Emma Goldman. That's three quarters right. Too bad we don't do fractions.
  21. Bumping this since the All Star Games begin today.
  22. There was a close-up of Teen Beth's face where they showed a mole on her right side. Later there was a close-up of Adult Beth and there was a mole in the same place! Kudos to both make-up and the Continuity Fairy. Now if they could only be so precise in showing Pittsburgh winter weather.
