And Michelle is going on tour and I'll get to see her in SF in December. So looking forward to it. My favorite Voice contestant ever.

The Helen Mirren and Morgan Freeman lines made me laugh so hard. My 12 year old niece who is Filipino and black discovered both of these actors in the Red series and she loves them both so much. She thinks Helen Mirren is just kick ass. So I totally got both shout outs. The over sharing was a hoot.

hincandenza - I so agree about Pharrell. He definitely tried to steer people to other folks after turning around. But I agree -- he will need the disposable folk in the next rounds.

For me there was a disconnect between Blessing's voice and what he was playing on the keyboard. They sounded like they were in different keys. If I blocked out the music the voice at least didn't feel like nails on a blackboard. Please take ALL instruments away from him.

who gives a crap whether actors like each other. Sometimes the people who hate each other have the best chemistry. I work with people every day that I can't stand. But you are professional at work and you get through it. I'm going to go with they get along just fine. I didn't watch all of last season after loving the show for so many years. I didn't start disliking it -- I just had other things to watch on Mondays and kinda forgot about it. I watched the finale on On Demand and loved it. And so I tuned back in tonight. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with. It's a good mystery. I actually liked the last scene because it was a sense from Castle that he was deeply concerned and not just posititve that they would figure it all out. Thanks for posting the tweets but really, who could read those all night. She does sound like a cheerleader. And that's fine if that's her style. I guess he doesn't play along like he's supposed to.

Ok Pharrell. Stop turning your chair for mediocre singers because they will pick you. I'm amazed because Usher and Shakira had to prove themselves before the most talented would give them a chance. But Pharrell is just magic and his resume just speaks for itself. Man I would kill for a season of Blake, Usher, Pharrell and maybe Christina.

Haven't watched the show in a couple of years but I fell asleep and when I woke up my mom, who has never watched the show, had it on because of Taye Diggs. So I saw the last 1/2 hour and have to say it was boring. Perturbed that Diane joined Alicia and Carey's firm. And Cary, even with storyline is boring. But as usual his story is all about Alicia anyway. So have L&G just gone away now. Are they even around to lose every case to Alicia?

The Mysteries Of Laura - General Discussion
angelita100 replied to David T. Cole's topic in The Mysteries Of Laura
I like the show. Ding ding ding to whoever mentioned Castle. That's what it reminds me of but she's the "Castle" character. I'll definitely continue to watch. I think giving those brats cough syrup hooked me last week. And I like that she's just generally messy. -
It's the pilot so I expect all the kids will settle into their roles. I did like Wes and his neighbor and the gay kid. Now, I don't like Shonda Rhimes. I don't sit at her alter. I liked the first 2 seasons of Grey's and then quit when Addison moved on to Private Practice. I watched PP until Shonda ruined that one as well. To me, she writes story and plot first, and then character second. I prefer it the other way around. She has ruined too many characters for me so I refused to watch her last 2 shows - that jungle one and Scandal. I don't care how many of my friends have begged me to watch scandal..I just won't. It was a last minute decision to watch this show. I know this show is under Shonda's umbrella and all the press is about her but from what I understand she didn't create or write this show. Am I wrong about that. That's why I decided to give it a chance. I'll stick it out at least 6 weeks... I did that much for Under the Dome and that stupid Hostages last year.

Loved the new judges. I have to say the judges entertain me and it's why I can get through the early rounds.. No matter who they throw out there the chemistry is supreme. I do miss my Usher but I think rotating judges is good. Have to admit TSA worker - there was something in his voice that touched me. WIth him it will be all about song selection and if they pull out the same old dreary I believe I can fly type songs he will be gone early. I felt everyone tonight got someone good. No one is running away with this thing. But it is only day one.
-
I will miss Sandhya. She's at least interesting and I wanted to see a collection from her. While many don't see what the judges saw in her..I don't get Amanda. I didn't get her the first time she was there and don't get her now. Kini for the win..He should have at least 4 wins by now. He's been robbed a few times.

Small Talk: So You Think You Can Talk
angelita100 replied to radishcake's topic in So You Think You Can Dance
ToxicUnicorn..sorry forspoiling it for you. I don't have a major racial beef with SYTYCD especially about black male dancers. And I love that they show other ethnic groups. But in more than one season there just aren't any black female dancers. Maybe I've gone blank but in so many seasons there's like 5 that I can think of. I personally don't think that's good ... donyelle, sabra, comfort, jasmine.. and the runner up from that season I couldn't stand to watch because of the annointed one. I think there are just a few more. I'm probably just mad that I love the show so much and have no rooting interest from those remaining. They all just seem so blah. No Alex Wong. No Katee, No Ellenore. No Twitch. Nobody that makes me anticipate Wednesday nights. -
I am watching this show for Goran but tonight was the first night that I found him "hot." It was also the first time i saw chemistry between him and Molly and began rooting for them as a family. I was so happy she told him the truth. I thought that would drag out for weeks. All in all a great episode. I'm all in.

Small Talk: So You Think You Can Talk

So Marcquete is gone this week and with him goes my interest in the rest of the season. I have always loved SYTYCD but it too suffers from the same thing as all reality shows. It's just that it's been so entertaining I didn't care. Showcasing some folks in the audition stage gives them a leg up on those with no coverage. And the judges critique's don't seem honest. If they like a person they couch their words carefully to keep them in the competition. Their continued lack of black female dancers just bugs the hell out of me. How many have there been in all of these seasons - 5, 6? I see them passing through the night in the audition rounds. They look pretty good to me but they never get focus. Or if they do get some audition focus they have disappeared by the vegas/la round. Black guys have done better but this season (and someone will correct me if I'm wrong because I missed an audition show - the two that made the show were virtual unknowns. Did they get any major focus before the top 20? You know it's bad when I'm turning mid show to Extant. -
I've started watching the show about a month ago. I'm on season 2 and Arya is hands down my favorite character. I'm so enjoying her scenes with Lord Tywin Lannister. I can't wait to see what direction they take her.

Jason Stackhouse: If this is an emergency, dial 911 and ask for me.

I agree with the sentiment here. The actor is so damn good - the best on this show IMO. -
He didn't. I was talking about "This James" AKA the current one.

S11.E08: Top 18 Perform, 2 Eliminated
angelita100 replied to Mya Stone's topic in So You Think You Can Dance
I thought this season was promising during the audition process. but where is the damn diversity. I'm kinda over it already. -
I enjoyed this episode - yes mostly because they wrapped up the idiotic storyline and put Eric back in the action. He was fantastic and gives the show a lift when he's actually doing something. As for him being an asshole LOL, well duh! He's a little bit of everything and always has been. I don't have to like everything a character does to just adore the character. Lafayette, the pusher, is another one that I love. I wish Eric and Lafayette could just spin off to their own show somehow. They kept me watching when I wanted to give up. I hope they don't kill off Eric. I want a "cure." I always love the Bill/Eric scenes. They really spark. Pam and Eric should just ride off into the sunset at the end. LOL at how they came to be in Shreveport and their video store. Loved how Pam kept that from Eric. Gotta love kooky Ginger. Glad she had a flashback scene. Her reaction to Eric is just classic. Ahhh Willow. I really like her. Hope she and Eric can mend fences. Sookie was good in this episode. Hope they can keep it up as I had really come to hate her. Her Alcide grief is a little eye rolling so hopefully they just pretend it never happened. Arlene... looks like she may have a new partner LOL. And THIS James has way more chemistry with Lafayette.

The Haves And The Have Nots - General Discussion
angelita100 replied to David T. Cole's topic in The Haves And The Have Nots
First it was Candace walking around intimidating everyone and now it's veronica. I hate weak people and Jeffrey is just too weak to exist. I can't take it. He would have all the support in the world if he just stood up to her. This show is not the same with Candace's part being so diminished. I miss her. -
Yeah even Alcide did some crazy stuff when he was drunk with power as pack leader. Although I try to forget all things werewolf. Worst part of the show IMO. I like Bill. I just think he and Sookie suck as a couple. But I don't care if they put them together because I mainly watch the show for other people. I stopped caring about Sookie awhile ago. I think the worst things he did had nothing to do with Sookie but as far as I'm concerned he put a lot of things into motion that put vampires and humans at risk. Did they ever explain why Eric could resist the Lillith blood but not Bill? I totally agree that Nora also appeared out of the blue but she brought it from the first scene. But I didn't get the impression that Sylvie was the love of his life - I think what happened to her probably shaped him a lot and left a deep impact on him. I think far more intersting was filling in the background on Eric and the Authority. It would be nice to see a scene between Jessica and James. They did exposition on their life rather than show. But I like him and Lala so..oh well. They will probably put Jess back with Jason although I prefer Violet (with Jason/not as a character). She hs issues but hey who doesn't on this show.
-
Wish the little speech Sookie had with Bill she would have had with Alcide and let him make an informed decision about whether he wanted to fight to the end or just get out alive. They have really made me hate Sookie's selfish ass over the years. It's like she has regressed every season. I don't mind saying I actually like Violet. Her single minded devotion to Jason kinda cracks me up. I hated to see Mrs. F go but she went out with a bang worthy of her character. Yes! Can't wait to see a showdown between Eric and Sarah. So as of right now I will be heart broken if Jessica, Jason, Violet, Lafayette, James, Arlene, Holly and her son, Willia, Adelin, Eric, or Pam dies.
-
I don't like the victim Tara became after season one but actually like her as a vampire but would like to see more interaction with Lafayette. I miss that. I never caredfor her with Sam as she would always be his second choice. I feel that whole Sookie/Sam relationship is really random. I couldn't believe that scene in season six where she had the nerve to come say she thought they would always end up together. Is she insane? Hated Amy. I liked Jason in season one but grew to love Jason in later seasons. I prefer watching Jason in scenes with almost any other woman scenes except the werecat girl and crazy Amy. I even like his girl in season 6. She cracks me up and would prefer to see him end up with her over Jessica.. Eric is one of the most fascinating characters on the show. His back story - his family, Pam, his maker - are the best back stories of all of the characters and most of that was explored past season 1. As for all the supes -- I only really just hate the werewolves. All of the storysurrounding them were not good. Shifters were boring but not as bad as the werewolves. The Fairy story was fine for the most part. They needed to come up with an explanation for Sookie and her fairy blood is the only thing that make me ok with every man in town being in love with her. So I guess I love parts of all the seasons. Season 1 doesn't stand out to me as much more awesome than any other. I think characters like Jessica, Jason, Lafayette, Eric, came into their own after that season. Hell even Bill was more interesting when he became king.

doesn't Sam have a baby pup on the way? I'd rather see him stick with the girl he was with in season 6.
