I don't know if Linda would be embarrassed if that happened. She pooped in a bucket.

Albino Dyke was my disco punk band in high school. -
If there wasn't a finger on the scale, that is one giant coincidence.

Showrunners shouldn't be explaining anything. It's a way overused device nowadays, but that's a whole other conversation. I also agree that you have to show what you want to show when the show airs or it doesn't count. This is kind of unfair now because most of us haven't seen the dvds so the traveling makes no sense unless you have the there is internal consistency. The whole thing is stupid anyway. They could have had one scene where Roger decides to stay and that's it. I don't know why it bothers me so much, but the entire plot has turned into garbage now.

Well, ffs, that's a huge piece of information that invalidates just about all of our arguments. Why wouldn't they include that?

I assume that Tiago spending more time with her is going to pique the interest of the demon. She also seems to be more involved in the case than we thought. -

I still don't know the name of the king on Game of Thrones. iirc, the over the top cop made references to 'queers' too. There's no way for us as viewers to know if it was a gay club since it was only just introduced then. But I thought he was being very flirty. I'm still amazed that everyone knows how to dance. -
Jeter will at least give you a gift basket. Funny thing is that Hamm is a great comedic actor imo.

I mean, they obviously played up the dancing to make the delineation of the cultures when the cops came in, but it was still something else. Is the main gang leader that was dancing not-straight? Because he seemed to be really enjoying dancing with the brother (still hurting on the names). Not that liking dancing means you're not straight, but he was eye-fucking him like crazy. -
I don't know. Kukoc earned their respect in the rematch, so something came out of it. They schooled him for sure, but you want to play with the best you have to hang. I tend to place it more on Jerry. You have to be deaf and blind to now know how that would play out.

Oooh. I wasn't allowed to watch that much. -
That's likely. Mr. Fischoelder is so cheap though that he could make Bob responsible for repairs.

It's also kind of a cop out. Roger actively making the decision to stay and not even bother to travel to the stones gives him some actual agency. Here, it's like, 'uh I guess this means the stones think I think this is home so I guess it's home.' It grates on me when characters don't have a natural curiosity and at least ask some questions. I think we all knew they were still going to end up in 1772. No one ever mentioned that you can only go through the stones where you think you're supposed to go. It strikes me as sloppy. And it's quite correct that Roger's about face was very sudden.

Rodman was a highly illtelligent basketball player and Jordan said so himself. He already had two rings.

iirc, they ran the same play either earlier in the playoffs or the regular season - where Pippen inbounded to Kukoc for the last shot. So it's not like Phil all of a sudden decided that it would be a great idea. Again though, have some reflection, and think about how that paints you in the larger context. It wasn't a regular occurrence, so shit like that doesn't bother me. Jordan constantly ripping on teammates as a way of 'joking' bugs me more, and I can't believe no one told him to stfu for 5 minutes. It's not like Jordan didn't respect him as a player. He still passed to Kerr for the shot with the game on the line. I'm looking forward to seeing it again and what I get out of it all these years later. Two games isn't a seven games series. If Payton had guarded him from game 1, I think Jordan would have figured him out by game 5 at the latest if not by game 3. I think he would have just worn him down.

Yes, that was the point.

I had a huge laugh at the way they shot the reveal with her hat and how she pivoted her head. The show needs to have a little moment of fun here and there given how heavy the material is. I like her 'spanish' accent best out of all the characters. I wonder if she's got to have like this massive day planner - ooh, shit, I have to get to the club, but I need to pick up my hat first! I'm still kind of calling bs on the cop. He's a cut out and way too over the top. Really, you're going to come in with 10 guys and arrest like 50 people? And, say you do. How you going to get them there? Where you going to put them? So I'm wondering if Magda has particular interest Tiago because he was touched by Santa Muerte? She whispered in the brother's ear at the riot, and now the other one is running with the gang. -

She's playing the nazi doctor like a fiddle. I like the actors but a little too much time spent on Tiago and Molly for me. She gonna kill the mother though. I was surprised she didn't think the mother would have her followed. "Would you like to rephrase that?" He is way way out of his league. I did like Magda telling off the nazis because she can quite back it up. I can't even imagine throwing a woman around that as part of a dance. Did people know how to actually dance back then? -
Season 1 Discussion: Because Bortus Ate the Old Topics

I think one of the reasons the show is good is that Seth is a genuine Trek fan and can put together a good allegorical show (at times) with nuance. Plus, I always thought Trek was a little too antiseptic. Not in that it should be 'dark and gritty', which has become derivative, but this crew makes mistakes, cracks some jokes, has karaoke, sometimes drinks too much. -

I'm really digging Nathan Lane. You have to appreciate an actor that can do a good cry. I liked the councilwoman sassing the transportation committee chair. (I'm still rough on names. It takes me a while.) I didn't know Popeye was around back then. -

Make the safe choice. Choose Ringo.

To be fair, he doesn't owe anyone shit. All he has to do is go to the arena and point at the banners. However, he gave the green light for the documentary. I would think one would want to take the opportunity to be insightful and reflect on the era, his place in history, etc. He still doesn't necessarily have to be likeable, but I don't know what he's going for here.

It's shaping up to be a good spring/summer show. I like the cast being multicultural.
