  1. Why can't we have separate threads for seasons? The episode to be broadcast in the US on November 30 is season 3, episode 7 "Work to Rule." Canadian viewers appear to be getting season 4. It would be much clearer to have separate threads. Thank you to everyone who includes the episode number and title in comments.
  2. An ancient Briton, painted blue with woad? (Whether they actually did is questionable, but ... )
  3. I had the same reaction, but I have second guessed myself into wrong answers too many times, so I stuck with Sinatra. Remember James H's recommendation of reading nonfiction books written for children.
  4. If Ken Jennings actually could give medical advice (as he joked to Nick), what problem might you ask him about, or what might he suggest?
  5. Another who first thought (and rejected) Murdoch Mysteries. I never heard of Succession; guessing it is/was on cable or streaming or something else I don't have.
  6. The turkey drop episode was based on a real incident. (Scroll down to number 6 or search for WKRP.)
  7. For me too. Good for Deanna! She chose her DD wagers quickly, and she's a fellow southpaw! Are there any statistics about left-handedness among Jeopardy contestants?
  8. Week 10: 3/5. Weeks 1-10: 35/50, 3 *.
  9. IIRC, Sam could not leap to times before he was born. Why can Ben? (I have not seen all the episodes of either the Sam show or the Ben show, so maybe they explained it and I missed it.)
  10. PBS interview with Nicola Walker. She mentions a radio version of Annika, 10 years long. How can we (in the US) hear this?
  11. Week 9: 3/5. Tuesday was painful: I knew it was Ethiopia but couldn't remember the capital in time. Wednesday I at least knew it was too early to be Lewis or Clark. Bringing 3 breadsticks (plus a basket of them) and appropriate dips etc.
  12. We could use Roman numerals, because there are sometimes questions about those. Breadsticks work until you're close to 100; then that doughnut (with a bite out of it) would work.
  13. The rest of Annika's team are unaware of what she said in the comedy club, and Michael walking out? Even if no one in the club knew Annika and Michael, the story could spread, and someone could recognize the descriptions of A & M.
  14. Especially since the preview showed Mags having a heart problem, so it may have distracted some viewers from the rest of the episode.
  15. What is Ian feeling guilty about? (I haven't seen all the episodes.)
  16. 3/5. Debating between spinach salad and pea soup.
  17. The episode description said "young girls" but the girls were probably at least 16 since one of them was driving. "Young girls" to me are less than about 10 years old.
  18. No, he had both male and female parts, a rare natural condition. He had not known about it.
  19. 4/5. Today I said Taj instead of Mahal. Shapeshifter, thank you for the cookie.
  20. This came up a year or two ago, and someone said that they edit out some of the "What is" parts to speed up the broadcast game. I don't know whether that is true.
  21. “I do think, half of what we call madness is just some poor slob dealing with pain by a strategy that annoys the people around him.” ― Lois McMaster Bujold, Mirror Dance
  22. The title "The Irrational" is interesting. For many shows ("The Equalizer," "The Good Doctor," etc.), the title describes the main character. In this show, Alec is not (supposed to be) irrational, but he studies irrational thinking and behavior.
  23. Deserving a point does not require reading the book, or even actually knowing the answer. Fortunately for many of us, lucky guesses count!
  24. Week 5: 3/5 + 1*. There was a question about pears so I'll poach some to bring.
