  1. Agreed. I was expecting more evidence to turn up, that would require a Part 2 of the mystery.
  2. 4/5. Still recuperating after last week's surgery. After floundering badly on Monday, I managed to recover. Will bring something from my freezer.
  3. I'm in. I had surgery on Wednesday and just got out of the hospital, so I may be at one of the "fewer FJ" tables this week.
  4. I watched on Passport and did not see the 'behind the scenes' bit at the end. Do I need to look for that separately?
  5. As I posted at the end of this season: Week 46: 3/5 Overall: 159/230 + 35 * + 6 C* (C = Cris Pannullo)
  6. Thank you for doing this, Clanstarling! 3rd place is my sweet spot; I'm pretty sure I have been 3rd in some previous year.
  7. In the series finale (which I saw when it first aired but haven't seen since), Captain Miller read out the characters' new assignments. IIRC, Wojo was to go to K9 Corps, and the audience reacted as if this was especially awful. Probably Wojo would have to deal with riots etc., but was K9 Corps really so much worse than other assignments?
  8. Check your public library. Many have good DVD collections.
  9. New Project Will Recover the Names of Up to 10 Million People Enslaved in America Before Emancipation and Locate their Living Descendants
  10. Week 46: 3/5 Overall: 159/230 + 35 * + 6 C* (C = Cris Pannullo) People always finish my falafel wraps so I'll bring more of those.
  11. Article about "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald"
  12. 4/5. Bringing salad with romaine lettuce.
  13. IIRC, there was a writers' strike while House was in production. A reporter asked Hugh Laurie if he supported the writers. He said something like: "Absolutely. Without the writers, we couldn't ... uh ..." (He is very articulate, so this was intentional.)
  14. In part 1 of the second episode, they showed a flashback to when his wife and daughter were alive. I thought we would understand why after part 2, but I don't. Can anyone explain?
  15. Another Buster Keaton fan. I enjoyed "The General" and if we play movie quotes, "Enlist the Lieutenant" is one of my go-to quotes.
  16. When Penny broke Howard's nose, she was justified in being angry with him. When Penny dislocated her shoulder, she had a gentle moment with Sheldon who was helping her put a shirt on. "Does that feel like an arm?" "No." "Then maybe you should let it go." If that had been Howard, she would have reacted very differently.
  17. She had worked in "Response," whatever that is. I did not hear that she had ever worked on a murder investigation, so it seemed a bit odd that she was assigned to lead one.
  18. I don't mind the music (although I too would prefer less of it) but what annoys me is that it is much louder than the dialogue. I had to keep grabbing my remote.
  19. If Morse was playing Russian roulette, it might have been a bit like a semi-popular decision-making technique: Flip a coin. Not to do what the coin says, but to see how you feel about that option. If Morse fired and got an empty chamber, it might have helped him clarify whether he really wanted to continue living. At the end, looking into the rear-view mirrors, did older Morse seem to have darker eyes than younger Morse?
  20. Is the last week of the FJ contest week 46, July 24-28? Were winners of last year's FJ contest ever declared?
  21. 4/5 + 1*. Bringing calzones, your favorite flavor.
  22. Reminded me of "The Cremation of Sam McGee."
  23. Given the date, FJ could have asked about the connection between the 1812 Overture and U.S. Independence Day.
