What was the resolution of the nanny brouhaha? Did the hospital set up a daycare? Didn't it have one already? (I was tired, and had already watched "two families need nannies" on The Rookie, so maybe I zoned out.)

Amy's childhood hypochondria reminded me of a joke. Three students were leaving their last classes of the day. The law student said, "I'm tired and thirsty. I must have coffee." The engineering student said, "I'm tired and thirsty. I must have beer." The medical student said, "I'm tired and thirsty. I must have diabetes."

I was hoping that Bailey would quit her job and become a nanny for John's colleagues, to see if she likes kids as much as the thinks she does.

S07.E09: A Fancy Article And A Scholarship For A Baby
Driad replied to DanaK's topic in Young Sheldon
Opinions of weather depend on experience etc. I lived in Boston for a while, and considered it subtropical compared to where I had been before. I couldn't stand the weather in Texas or southern California. Some people like it, and that's fine with me. -
S07.E09: A Fancy Article And A Scholarship For A Baby
Driad replied to DanaK's topic in Young Sheldon
I had email before 1990, from my connection to a university. Email may not have been the standard method for academic communication in 1993, but it did exist. -
Week 33: 2/5, no *. Bringing pears and Cheddar cheese for the popular table and everyone else.

The MIT chapel hosts services of many religions, plus weddings and occasional non-religious events. Maybe Mary was imagining that there were only non-sectarian services. If she can't tolerate a chapel that sometimes has services that are not her particular flavor of Baptist, she can go soak her head as far as I'm concerned. -
Media for So Help Me Todd: Not Private Investigations
Driad replied to Meredith Quill's topic in So Help Me Todd
It could be worth keeping track of the writers, actors, et al., to see what they do in the future. -

There is a thread for S03.E09: The Travelling Agent. Could discussion of that episode please go there?

Thank you, I did not remember that.

Hetty could have been worse off. At that time it was not unusual for a husband to have his wife put away in a madhouse: for being depressed, for not acting like a doormat, etc.
-
Thank you, I wondered about that too. Coach Dad intended harm (temporary harm?) but not necessarily death, and did not know about the medicine the gf gave the victim. Manslaughter 2 sounds about right. (IANAL)

Sad about the cancellation. This show reminded me of Psych, which got a much better chance. I just hope the writers got the bad news early enough to write a finale without cliffhangers.- 95 replies

Week 32: 4/5, two * Friday I said Harlequin (being aware of the old stock character but not the movie) which doesn't count.
-
This was also an asterisk -- they all wrote Arkansas. ETA: For today's FJ, I said Harlequin. Would that count?
-
Could "Harlequin" be accepted for FJ? The pronunciation could be the same.

S10.E10: Viewers Like You
Driad replied to shapeshifter's topic in Finding Your Roots With Henry Louis Gates Jr.
Among the thousands of people who applied, likely there were other mysteries that were different and more interesting, but that the researchers were not able to solve. -
If Hetty hanged herself, wouldn't the rope make marks higher up, under her chin and ears, where they would not be covered by her clothing? If Sam or Jay researched old newspaper reports of Hetty's death, or her death certificate, I wonder what they would find. Some old newspaper stories include a lot of detail, but others might gloss over the cause to spare the family.

S05.E10: Diamonds Are Made To Sparkle
Driad replied to DanaK's topic in Bob ❤️ Abishola (Bob Hearts Abishola)
Knowing Chuck Lorre, I'm a bit surprised that Abishola didn't force Bob to sell the family business so they could move to Baltimore. -
April 14-20, 2024, is National Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week in the U.S. I hope the episode mentions this.
