  1. Collins always looks so high strung and uptight. I've never seen her smile once. If I understood it correctly, she's in the same bracket as Halep. I'd give Collins one more round at the AO. I'm pulling for Sabalenka, Sakkari, and Pegula. I'd like to see a new person break through and win this year. Edited to add, apparently Sakkari and Pegula play each other next in the fourth round. That will be a tough one for Pegula. She has never beaten Sakkari before.
  2. I watched the whole thing this week. It's a wonderful look behind the scenes in figure skating and the Marie-France and Patrice powerhouse. A few things that stood out to me: I never really cared about Madison Chock and Evan Bates, but now I think they are adorable. She has an infectious personality, and their dog is freaking adorable. I don't know how Adrian and Maddie can withstand the pressure of competing against one another with other partners. One of the scenes showed her holding her head in frustration after Adrian dropped his partner in a lift. I would think that it would really be tough if your SO botches their performance and you still have to do your own skate. The conversation with Zach asking Maddie and Adrian about their wedding plans was strange to me. I would think most exes don't want to know the details. Good for them that they are such close friends and Adrian isn't jealous about it. I never cared much about Maddie and Zach as skaters, but I love them after this. I hope that they get a medal in Beijing. I would have loved some insight about how skaters can afford to skate all day. They clearly have nice apartments and enough money to travel the world. What are the logistics behind that?
  3. I tried to watch it, but I lost interest. I don't know who the hell Anna is or why she was the star of the episode. Since I don't know the character, I didn't care much about the story, and I fell asleep. I did wonder why Halstead was investigating without Upton in the few scenes that I saw.
  4. Kenny Johnson's daughter is adorable and a good young actress. I like the mom character/actress as well. I'd like to see more of them on the show. I really hate storylines about pregnancy loss, but this one was okay. Chris was a great, supportive friend, and I like the mutual support between her and Tan. I thought it was strange when Street told everyone good night in the locker room and left without any reaction shot between Street and Chris. I love the actor who plays Leroy, so any time I see him it's a good episode. It's kind of jarring seeing him as a nice guy because he was a threatening criminal on "Chicago PD." I do like that Hondo has an old friend and that they still connect despite taking different paths in their lives.
  5. Ha, yes. Penn State and the Univ. of Houston (Cougars).
  6. I am not thrilled about the move to Sundays. I had to watch this on the Paramount App since I missed it at 10 pm. This was an entertaining episode. I thought it was nice that Deacon and Chris resolved their conflict and tried to understand each other. The acting and the action were great, and there was a lot of suspense. Jay Harrington brought the tough guy energy. I'd give this one extra points for Deac looking so hot while shooting up the cartel guys. Lina Esco was great with the action and the back story about Chris's family. The actor who played the cartel accountant/client was excellent. Deacon's side business sure is risky. After this, I would expect that Mrs. Deacon will have something to say about his private security business. I would expect more fighting between those two. Maybe Deacon should investigate his clients more thoroughly. This is the second time that Chris has been beat up in one month. I am calling BS if she is not on medical leave or in counseling in the next episode.
  7. I agree with you, Preeya. I did not care about Bailey's problem at all. She is a stupid POS for lying to John, and no amount of whining will change my mind. Also, in most states, although it is harder you can get a divorce without your spouse's cooperation if you observe certain filing periods and deadlines and document it. Otherwise, a spouse would be able to make you stay in a marriage against your will simply by refusing to answer. Therefore, Bailey's explanation about why she didn't get divorced made no sense. I hate Bailey and her simpering "poor me" BS. HATE. Go away, Bailey. I like Lyla's boyfriend and Wesley as friends. Would love to see any combination of them plus Angela and Nyla. I want to know why Ashley would call Lucy about Tim's dog. I know that Lucy had him first, but it seems like a covenient plot device to drag Lucy into their relationship. I get the feeling that Lucy is headed for something with the prosecutor who came over to bother her about his cases.
  8. I am disappointed, too. Mostly I think that the show wasted these two so far this season, and what has happened is not very interesting. I'm not sure why they showed the hug/ sleepover in episode 1 if they were not going to follow up on it. They went from a serious moment that seemed like they could be romantic, and that was dropped and never brought up. The problem with the storyline since then is that there is no demonstration of any residual feelings or emotions related to that moment. Lucy was practically acting like a worried spouse in episode 1. Then they had Lucy pranking Tim and acting like an immature idiot with that bet. And they never seem affected by what happened before. Pick a lane, writers. I also can't figure out why Lucy would be involved in such a personal activity as packing up Tim's dad's house. Stuff like that is usually a family activity because it is so fraught with emotion and memories. I think that they cannot figure out what to do with them, so they are doing a little bit of everything.
  9. I agree. Hopefully, he'll show Bailey the door. The "secret marriage" as a way to create tension/drama is beyond idiotic. I've never met anyone in the real world who hid a marriage from a significant other because that's sleazy, selfish, and immoral. This is the second time that I have seen the secret marriage crap in a TV show. They also did it with Jay on Chicago PD. So, in addition to being annoying and a busybody, Bailey is an asshole. Please, writers, kill her off the show.
  10. The story did feel like something we've seen before on this show. I thought Deacon was kind of an ass to Chris. Usually I like Deacon, but his tone was uncalled for. I liked the aspect of Chris explaining that there was no good choice for the trafficking victim, who would be abused in her home country or taken advantage of here. That scene made a powerful statement about why someone would attempt the journey here as an undocumented person I liked the whole section with Chris going undercover and how the team were all with her in the operation. Chris looked cool, and it was funny when she came out dressed in the undercover outfit. It was funny when she told Hicks that her gun was in her "Louie" (Vuitton) and Tan said it was a Gucci and Chris saying "whatever it fits my gun." Sometimes the side remarks on this show are the best part.
  11. I thought I was watching "Days of our Lives." They need to stop with these bad love scenes. Specifically, I don't need or want to see random naked shots of their backs and butt cracks, spread legs, or the actress putting her head back to signify the moment of penetration. Just no. It is awkward and strange. The Chicago franchise seems to love this Hallmark channel soft porn style. Chicago Med did a similar scene when Casey and Brett got together. I think the actors did the scene well, but I hated the direction of the scene. Anyway, good luck to Jay being married to that angry headcase. The marital bliss will be short-lived.
  12. I agree that Chris could have handled the birthday attention better. Just say thanks and move on. Even though it was annoying to Chris, I thought that the team going over the top with the birthday celebrations was cute. My favorite was when Hondo and Luca smiled at each other, knowing that she was about to go in the locker room and get confetti bombed. It was sad when Chris told Street that she didn't like the attention because she thinks that she doesn't deserve it. That's just depressing. There's always been an undercurrent of insecurity with Chris, even though she is very accomplished in SWAT.
  13. Isabelle is still alive. She last appeared in a scene where she met up in a park with Tim after recovering from being shot. They did not say whether they were divorced yet. I interpreted Tim's statement about not being single to mean that he is dating someone. I assume that it's going to turn out to be the daughter of the cop who retired. I thought it was really stupid to allow a civilian family member to ride in a squad car. I did enjoy the sibling dynamic though.
  14. This is interesting and it makes me think of another point about their inappropriate work behavior. Lucy and Tim discussed their bet in front of Grey, and he gave them each a section of the criminal code. Whoever arrested someone for their assigned violation was the winner. It's really dumb that Grey, as a commanding officer, would go along with their game. More probable is that he would tell Tim to straighten up and stop playing games with Lucy.
  15. This is the second time that Maggie has introduced Gary to a boyfriend. Since she made sure to tell both guys that Gary proposed, my guess is that a future storyline will be that she's not over Gary I also don't buy that hockey boyfriend has no problem with Gary staying at the house with Maggie. I'm sorry, but in what universe is a guy going to stick around to have the friendship with the ex shoved in their face repeatedly? Maybe Maggie is just so cute and sexy that men will put up with any crap just to be with her. I'm already rolling my eyes at her bagging a pro athlete. I really like Mario Van Peebles and was happy to see him as Regina's dad.
  16. Have they showed any of Kellett's back story? From what I could gather, her sister apparently committed suicide, and she moved away to escape the family drama. She was acting "off" the whole case. I thought Forrester should have noticed how off she was and would have asked her what was up. I did think that it was touching at the end when Kellett was out on the bridge taking pictures and apparently(?) thinking of her sister.
  17. I thought that the sister was going to die. I'm ashamed that I actually felt sorry for the sister when Maggie was in her hospital room telling her that she won't see her or help her any more. I understand tough love, but doing that at the hospital was cold. I wonder where Maggie's parents are. Shouldn't they have been mentioned with her sister being critically ill? I really hate Jubal. It pissed me off that he went to the hospital to reprimand Maggie. That should have been saved for the office.
  18. I would actually like to see a more serious exploration of the Wesley plot. He needs to tell Angela about what is going on with his clients, and then he needs to report the blackmail to law enforcement. It was strange to me to see him go home after getting beat up. He realistically should have been in the hospital. The Bailey and John competing injuries/held captive/ being beat up plot was lame. I don't buy them taking care of each other or even being in a relationship at all for that matter. They have not shown one bit of an emotional connection to make me buy these two. I cannot tell what they are trying to do with Chen and Bradford. The last couple of episodes, they acted like high school kids playing pranks on each other. I don't see them as relationship material the way they are written right now. It's weird that they wrote a sort of intimate scene for them in episode 1 and now have them acting dumb and never having a serious conversation.
  19. I didn't really care much fof the plot about the hostage situation at the TV station. The guy at the station was a derivative or composite of numerous people in the media. The actor was great, though. I thought that the story about Jim's mother's funeral was well done. Alex Russell has been really good at playing the conflict with Jim and his mom. Karen was batshit crazy, but she was his mom and still deserved a decent sendoff. So it was nice that Chris encouraged him to go ahead with the service and that the team joined them. I liked the scene at the end when the team joined JIm to go to the funeral. My favorite part of that was Tan's collection of items for Karen's casket. I've never heard of that tradition but it was an interesting detail.
  20. In the interview at the station, I thought that she said that the dad had been sexually abusing the blonde sister. I could have misunderstood. I was very confused with the chain of events. After the dad was stabbed, he told the cops that it was a Hispanic male. I'm not sure why the dad lied - maybe to cover for the girls?
  21. The only thing I can think is that he participated in concealing evidence by not advising investigators that he tracked Voight's GPS to the site where the remains were found. He was going along with Voight's ruse that they had no idea where the guy was. If not concealing evidence, the only other thing I can think is negligence of his duties as a law enforcement officer to bring forth the evidence that he knew about Voight. I still don't get where this is going, except to get Jay and Hailey to turn in Voight. I am not interested in watching this show without Jason Beghe. I like all of the actors, but Voight is the center of the show.
  22. One of the problems for me is Dewan's acting,. which lacks any range. Her voice has the same cheerful "up-talk" inflection in every scene, whether she is being serious or flirting with Nolan. This show is unusual, in that the actors have to do very serious drama and light and funny moments in the same episode. She doesn't work for me as a dramatic actress Yeah, I don't see how a pairing would work. I think the more realistic route than them becoming a couple is that they would flirt but not become a couple. Tim can't be involved with someone in his command.
  23. I think the purpose was both to show a personal side to Hicks and to demonstrate his friendship with Deacon. I don't recall whether they have ever been shown as friends. Can anyone else get away with calling Hicks Bob? Certainly not Street. I liked the story about the football player and his back story with Hondo. I thought it was a good mystery because everyone involved with the swatting victim seemed to have some motive for the crime, as they all had resentments or financial entanglements. The actor who played the sports agent was entertaining as well.
  24. I think she brings an understanding of his background. In several episodes, they have talked about their bad childhoods. In one episode Chris told Jim that they both had the worst days of their lives when they were kids. In the season four, JIm told Chris that they were both the children of drunks. So they have an understanding of the consequences of their insecure backgrounds that someone from a "normal" family might not have.
  25. He has one as a player but not as a manager.
