  1. I liked all of the storylines on this one. I thought it was cool that Deacon reached out to the new officer and is a solid mentor. Yeah, he was upset about being uninvited from his kid's school, but his reaction makes sense for a proud SWAT cop. The security company story was well done and showed the bad players in a high stakes business. It was cold when they left the son's girlfriend bleeding on the sidewalk. The scene with the injured cop's mom and Hondo was nice. Hondo takes care of everyone. It was cool of Street to help Chris with her problems without lecturing too much or getting territorial. I liked how she described the bartender one night stand as her friend and a safe choice. It works with Lina Esco's portrayal of Chris as kind of fucked up but not completely lacking in reasoning.
  2. They're doing a segment titled, "What does the Republican party stand for?" This involves Joe and Clare McCaskill speculating about Senator Joe Manchin and the filibuster. The problem with this is that Joe Manchin is a DEMOCRAT, even though he sometimes takes conservative positions. The air is out of the tires on this stupid show.
  3. CBS was pushing the Gonzaga story throughout the tourney. Nantz graduated from the University of Houston, where he was a student broadcaster for the basketball team. He was open about cheering Houston until they lost on Saturday. My sense is that CBS thought that that the Zags were unstoppable after the undefeated season and that miracle three pointer against UCLA. You could see the network's bias as well in One Shining Moment, which had a very heavy Gonzaga bent, up until the the hastily added in last few seconds showing Baylor's victory.
  4. It was good to see Chris Meloni. I can't believe that it's been 10 years. Kathy gets no respect. The woman is back on the show after 10 years and has to do a scene about the special love between her husband and Olivia. It doesn't make sense that Elliott and Olivia would go 10 years without keeping up with each other, yet we are to believe that they have this amazing special connection. The attempts at "chemistry" between Liv and El were over the top. I'm thinking of the scene in the office where he was talking one inch away from her face and the part where she grabbed him. It seemed like it was forced tension for the sake of showing that they haven't lost the spark. I thought that this episode really emphasized how much better Meloni is in comparison to Hargitay. I have gotten to the point where I can't stand her weird faces and dramatic low-toned whisper talk. Why does she always look like she's about the cry or she smelled something?
  5. Joe's off today. He's at home watching CNN. Mika is hosting with Willie. They opened the show with a 1920's style spoof film from Jimmy Kimmel making fun of Trump. Willie dubbed it ""funny and "devastating." This show has hit new lows when they are showing satire comedy from a non-NBC source and passing it off as newsworthy. Anything goes, as long as they can keep the subject on Trump. Willie seems excited to read a tawdry New York Times story about Matt Gaetz's alleged sexcapades. Willie said "sex" a few times and seemed intrigued. I'm sorry but how is this a top story? At least Willie had something to be excited about when he talked about Goetz taking sexy photos. Willie really does nothing for me and I don't want to hear Willie's take on anything sex-related. And that's where we are, talking about someone else's sex life or rumors about it. They are probably trying to get the pictures.
  6. Apparently the new Monday strategy is to sit around and read a collection of polls and say a few words about each. An ABC Ipsos poll shows that Americans agree with Biden's Covid strategy. Another poll shows that 57 percent of Americans disapprove of the border crisis. Joe believes that it is Biden's biggest problem. Another poll shows that people are forgiving Andrew Cuomo for being a sexually harassing leech. According to the poll 53 percent of people polled love Cuomo. Joe suggested that Cuomo has not received due process. Al Sharpton says there is a right to defend oneself against smears. That is your 31st amendment right, or something. This poll reading shit is like watching paint dry.
  7. Poor Hondo, I hope that his dad is ok. I really like their scenes together. I loved watching Street try to talk to Hicks and Hicks being in protective father mode. Also funny was Luca telling Street "I told you so." Street is a moron for going there. However I'm all for more mad Hicks punishing Street because those two are funny together. I liked it when Chris blew off Street's attempt to address her feelings. I think the writers are going with Chris as emotionally messed up or insecure. She has been shown as seemingly jealous in past episodes but never admits anything to Street. I do appreciate that they were actually in a private setting and not around the corner from 50 co-workers, like the last time they talked about this. Her shutting down Street was consistent with her character, which has been portrayed as not mixing romance with work. The story with the abusive dad was well done, and it showed teamwork. I liked everyone pitching in and the happy ending with them reuniting with their mother.
  8. Mika is very excited that a former US attorney was on "60 Minutes" and said that sedition charges should be brought in the Capitol Riot. Mika had a hard time pronouncing "sedition." Instead of getting an interview themselves, Joe and Mika just run the video from 60 Minutes. Scott Pelley won't mind and his interview is really informative. Why bother with doing news coverage yourself when you can sleep all weekend and play someone else's work. That's the feeling you get. Nicole Wallace's sexy lover, Michael Schmidt, joined the show to explain the challenges of police work in the riot. A NY times writer who wears Eddie Bauer jackets for his TV appearances is an expert in police work. As a writer, he knows that police work is dangerous and cops may be injured on the job. January 6 was an example of such injuries according to Michael. They couldn't get an actual policeman? This whole show is so lazy.
  9. I'm starting to think that he was a willing participant in this controversy. My thinking is that Chris is past the point of pretending to care about this show. When he started he was close in age to the participants and not they are young enough to be his kids. He's also building a home in Austin, which says that he is getting sick of Hollywood. So, with Chris on the way out, what better way to reset than to blow up this huge ass drama and push him out one door while bringing the new guy through another. It is a great way to get a fresh, hip reset while having the added bonus of tons of social media exposure. Just my cynical 2 cents. I don't put anything past Fleiss and co.
  10. I agree.. I think that, while it was really stupid for Rachel to attend that antebellum party in college, the criticism she has received is way over the top. Yes she was very insensitive and dumb, but this show is full of insensitive dumbasses. We've had rapists and abusers who were treated better by the Bachelor. I think it was very important for her to apologize, but the reaction this has received is way over the top in proportion to her offense. I really hate what social media did to this show. Matt looked terrible on the after show, so this didn't do him any favors, either. Fortunately, since Chris Harrison was the only thing I still liked, I no longer have to watch this shit.
  11. Joe actually asked useful questions about the January 6 riot. He wants to know who stopped the National Guard from going to the Capitol. WaPO reporter Eugene Robinson said the lack of accountability is stunning. Eugene thinks Joe Biden should do an investigation, or someone should do something. Mike Barnicle opined that the FBI is responsible for the investigation. Wow, thanks Sherlock. Mike said Biden and the House cannot do anything until the FBI investigates.
  12. I wondered when Tan will have to tell someone what he knows about Chris. I thought there should have been a scene with Tan and Street. Street's reaction to Chris's black eye was weird. I would think that he'd be a little more concerned. I did like Tan trying to help Chris deal with her grief over Erica.
  13. Yeah, she's fucked up alright. When I saw the preview for this episode I thought Tan's visit to her house was the day after her one night stand. But, apparently she recovered from that night and went out drinking again and got into a fight. My question is when would Tan have to tell someone what he knows about Chris. I thought Street seemed weirdly disengaged about her injury. Of course she didn't drop a blender on her face. Come on, Street. Use your brain. I thought there should have been a conversation between Street and Tan regarding Chris. I liked Tan being supportive and helpful, even though I think he should be sounding the alarm on Chris. I liked the storyline with Peter Onorati. I can't remember the character name. It was cool that Hicks saw his need to be involved and gave him something to do.
  14. Joe claims that the Republicans are not attacking Biden but are just attacking Dr. Seuss. Joe really loves his Dr. Seuss talking point. I've heard more about Dr. Seuss from Joe than any other TV host. Joe claims that he ran against Bill Clinton when he ran for Congress. Joe thinks that it was an accomplishment for a Republican to get elected in a military area like Pensacola. Ok Joe.
  15. I know, I did not know realize that shirts with cutouts in them are a thing again. It reminded me of "Flashdance." I thought Rachel's face looked really puffy, and she seemed out of it. I wonder whether she was on some kind of meds after the skydiving accident, or is she always like that? Also, if I were Rachel, I'd be pissed that Matt keeps bringing up the skydiving incident. The look on her face said that she's not interested in reliving it.
  16. It's called a Peter Pan collar. She looks like a cast member in a stage production of "The Crucible."
  17. That's what I thought. The producers seem to have a type. I have never seen Norma Kuhling before, but I thought she did a good job establishing her character. She made the character likeable in my opinion. I really dislike Molly, but not because of her relationship with Street. The actress just does nothing for me. Her attempt to emote over the break-up with Street was painful. She's easily the worst actor on the show. That last scene of Chris and her one night stand was surprising. I laughed when Chris told the guy there wouldn't be an in case. That was cold. Bender!Chris looks like a real mess.
  18. Joe said Congress is shut down because of the threat from Trump terrorists. Joe said that there were no shutdowns when he was in Congress. Joe is disgusted by Josh Hawley because Josh went to Harvard and he is wasting his education, according to Joe. So he is wasting his education in the United States Senate? Ok, Joe. I guess Joe knows about wasting one's education. He went to law school and spends half of his time on his caveman lawyer schtick. Willie interviewed reporter Brandy Zadrozny. Willie said that Brandy predicted the events of January 6. Brandy explained Qanon stuff that she researched online.
  19. I've finally stopped giving a fuck about this show. I thought Abigail was interesting with respect to the discussion of her hearing loss. Otherwise, I still can't tell most of these women apart and I don't care. Matt looks like a madman with that bushy beard. He seemed off to me. The whole thing seemed off, especially knowing what has happened with Chris.
  20. Yes, they can have people work together without getting involved or getting involved briefly rather than as endgame. I think it is realistic for single co-workers to socialize and date. I've certainly seen it a lot in my work. What is not realistic is for all such couples to be marriage material or long term partners.
  21. No but John Heileman was. I think Halperin has a long-term deal at Newsmax.
  22. They showed a clip of Nancy Pelosi referring to Sen. Ron Johnson as "Don Johnson." They think she did it in order to throw shade at Sen. Johnson. But, since it's SO hilarious, they opened the show with the "Miami Vice" theme. Joe laughed about the hilarious pop culture reference. Joe says that the Capitol police have warned of extremist threats. Joe continues to refer to Crockett and Tubbs and how they would respond at the Capitol. Joe said we have to keep the fences up to defend the Capitol. He thinks Ron Johnson and Rand Paul are ignoring the dangers. Halperin asked Joe if he ever wore a peach suit like Don Johnson. Joe claimed that he never wore peach suits. Let's get real, Joe wishes he could hold Don Johnson's jock. Hey Joe, the Miami Vice references are dated and are not cool anymore. I'm in my late 40's and I have vague memories of watching Miami Vice at age 12. My point is that any MSNBC viewer under about 45 has no clue what Joe is talking about. That means that it's not cool. Mika ranted at Mitchell McConnell for saying that he would support Trump if he ran again. She used the cry voice. Mika seems very emotional.
  23. I can't stand Emily. She is all chaos and stress and drama. I hope she gets so stressed out that she has to quit her job. I hate Amy's Barbie hair and her chirpy demeanor. She and Mark are pretty much chemistry-free in my opinion. I've never bought this couple. He has more chemistry with pretty much every other woman on the show. Why would Mark let his ex-girlfriend stay at his house with his current girlfriend? Why would Amy let that happen? What an odd setup. I'm unclear how someone who allegedly has their own law firm cannot even afford a place to live. She can afford an office in Los Angeles but can't afford an apartment. Okay, show.
  24. This morning, we are having a wake. Joe is very excited that Merrick Garland and Joe Biden got tearful yesterday. He showed Merrick becoming emotional while walking about his family and Joe Biden getting the sads talking about people dying. Joe admired the tears and remembered when they would talk about his dad at Scarborough family reunions. I feel sorry for everyone that has lost someone, but it is not news for Joe to be impressed by people crying. Everyone handles things differently. Joe read a Bible verse. He is very religious and had relatives who were gentleman preachers in Alabama. Katty Kay is impressed about the crying and she informed us that both of her parents died in the past three months. That's very sad for Katty Kay.
  25. I agree that it seems like something is going to happen. Didn't the puppy say that her cousin's place (where she's understood to be staying) was broken into? I'm guessing something bad will happen there. Last night really made me wonder about Chen's boundaries or lack thereof and specifically the "puppy" hanging out at her house. While it's awesome how much Chen has helped her, she's putting herself at risk by letting someone whom she doesn't know into her place. That was a big old WTF for me. I realize that Chen is a rookie, but that just seems stupid from a personal security standpoint.
