  1. Yeah, I think a lot of us who know him were in the teen to twenties demo that watched "Party of Five" in the nineties. Her parents wouldn't have watched it. I think Kelli is still so beautiful. It's cool that she did not let Hollywood go to her head. She seems very level headed and empathetic. I was so disturbed by Julie's drunk antics. It takes a lot of fucking alcohol to get to that point. I could be off base, but I think Julie wanted attention from Jamie, and if he had been the one grabbing her, she would have willingly left. I get a lonely stay at home mom vibe from her. I think that she was trying to have someone other than her husband pay attention. Unfortunately, she's also one of those women who has to work out all of her emotional issues when she drinks. I feel for the other roommates who were just looking for a good time.
  2. I think the exchange was in character for Street. He was under the impression that the only reason that they could not date was because they worked together on the same team. He figured that the obstacle to the relationship was gone. It was not consistent for Chris. The writing has not portrayed her as being restless since Erika died. She was shown drinking for a couple of episodes but she realized it was a problem and got some help. There has not been any theme of lingering unhappinness shown this season until this episode. In my opinion, that came out of nowhere.
  3. Lucy is so immature and inappropriate. It's none of her business whether Tim sees a future with Ashley. If a male co-worker asked her that, it would be considered sexual harrassment. I thought that the idea of Hawaii being an engagement destination was overplayed. I realize it was a plot device so Chen could get jealous, but it was stupid. Tim's only known Ashley for what, 6-8 months?
  4. I had to catch this on the Paramount App so I may have missed some details. I have to say that, while I like Brigette Cali Kanales, I don't see how she can possibly be a substitute for Lina Esco. Her character has hardly been developed enough for the audience to care about her. I like Fowler a lot, and I feel like she has more of a connection to the team. I have no interest in watching the show without a strong female character in the mix, so I probably won't watch if both Kuhling and Esco are gone. I liked the Deacon and Cabrera scenes. I appreciate how this show portrays the religion of its characters as a normal and healthy quality that helps them in their work as police. I didn't care much about the case of the week. The Mama Pina storyline was so damn sad. I really like that character, so BOO writers, for killing her off. Chris flipping out and quitting SWAT was a shock. She's lost her damn mind. Am I the only one who wonders how she plans to pay her bills in LA while running a safehouse? Is there an endowment for that or something? The fight between Street and Chris was very well-acted. They keep getting at some kind of emotional issues with Chris. I wish they showed more about where her issues come from instead of her just refusing to talk about it. Maybe Street can still catch that boat ride with Luca.
  5. The setup of Juliet revealing her feelings was stupid. I don't believe that two people who spend so much time together have no clue how the other one feels about them. The reason they spend so much time together IS BECAUSE THEY LIKE EACH OTHER. Also, why was,Juliet acting like some shy virgin when she went to the house to talk to Thomas? She had seen a nonstop parade of casual dates that Thomas has slept with. It's no secret that he can't keep it in his pants for long. So being shy about seeing his girlfriend does not ring true. The actors are good in their scenes together, but they have zero sexual chemistry. I didn't watch the kiss because I was too busy laughing at the background and yelling make it stop. It was at least satisfying as a hatewatch.
  6. I agree. The solid color ones are shapeless. It looks like they used a potato sack as the pattern.
  7. I was surprised at how much I liked the Hondo and Nichelle storyline. I thought it was nice that Hondo was supportive and reassuring about her news that she would have difficulty getting pregnant naturally. They are really great together. I like the growth with Hondo getting over his commitment issues. The hijacking with Street was a good storyline. It was cool when Street unlocked his cuffs and took part in the SWAT raid. I've never seen Diana Hopper in anything before. She's really good, and she was so cute with Street. I do think it is out of character for Street to be dense enough to leave the airfield with the flight attendant while Chris is watching. I don't understand why he did that after he told the flight attendant that he had someone waiting for him, although it was complicated. He seems confused. I like Luka and Fowler as friends. Are we to understand that Fowler can stay on as a medical officer, even if she cannot pass the hearing evaluation for SWAT? I wonder what they are setting up with her. I like Fowler the best of any of the new female characters.
  8. I want to know how in the hell Isobel can afford a townhome in Chelsea on a federal salary. The top federal civilian pay is around $200k. There's no way that she could afford a townhome worth several million unless she bought it with her dad's money. And we know that's not likely since she was really hating on her daddy a few episodes ago, with the patented Isobel stare of derision. Also, how in the hell did Jubal know Isobel's address by heart? I don't know the address of any co-workers. Has he been there before, if you know what I'm saying.
  9. This is one of the best episodes of the season in my opinion. I liked all of the storylines and the guest actors. I thought the storyline with Captain Hicks was well-written and suspenseful. The way that his friend was murdered right after they had talked was shocking. I thought it was touching how Hicks shared his story about grief with the judge's widow. That was great acting. I like the Luca story. Luca's brother seems like a doofus, but I liked how Luca was there for him, despite his bad choice of a girlfriend. Kenny Johnson was great in the last scene. I really buy the two actors as brothers. On the Chris/Street front, I am glad that he seems willing to express displeasure at getting nowhere with Chris. It is probably easier to couch it in terms of talking about the suspect living alone than to directly confront Chris about the status of the relationship.
  10. That was really scary and sinister. I thought the episode was going to end with him being attacked or kidnapped. I hope nothing happens to him. You would think that Forrester would verify the identity of the teacher before spending time with her.
  11. If she does stick around, I can see a scenario where she develops a friendship with Street after he mentors her. I really hope that the writers will avoid romance, and I hope that Street would steer clear of another workplace relationship. I do think he should date someone, though, since things are not going anywhere with Chris.
  12. The dialogue with Annie and Cora was well done the way that it built to Annie's realization that Cora had committed the murder. I wondered about Annie doing an independent investigation, though. My main issue with it was that I think that Cora would have refused to talk to Annie and would have called LAPD or the LA District Attorney to complain about a civilian visiting her to interview her about a crime. I enjoyed Street's conversation with Powell. The way Alex Russell did the dialogue with his matter of fact reveal that his mom shot his dad was brilliant. Street was basically saying to her that he had seen some stuff, and he knows that she has problems. I'm interested to see if they show more about her history.
  13. I have to say that I cracked up at Tiff's side eye in interrogation after Scola told her that he had slept with Nina. Her expression was priceless. I could go for more of that dynamic.
  14. I agree that a relationship in the team is bad news. I also feel like two people who are single and available and attracted to each other would have had sex already. They would not necessarily be in a relationship that is against the rules at their job, but they would either do more than kiss or they would move on.
  15. This constant on and off storyline with Kim and Adam is so stupid. What I see is that Adam went out of his way to be a good "dad" and Kim just craps all over him. I understand growing pains in a relationship, but this is just ridiculous. The guy busted his ass to help her after she became a foster mom on her own, and he gets no credit. Kim and Adam have not been portrayed in a healthy way since they broke off their engagement in season 2 or 3, whichever it was. Since then, most of their interactions were drunk one nighters. They could never commit to anything more. Then, when Adam tries to commit and get on board with Kim's parenting plan, she finds every reason to shut it down. It does not seem like there is much love there.
  16. What a great game. I have to give props to Kansas for their fight. I felt very bad for the UNC team at the end. I think they spent so much energy in the first half that they were just gassed. Thanks to Kansas for a great comeback, and thanks to UNC for taking out Duke! They will always have that victory. The interviews with both coaches got me, with Bill Self mentioning the death of his father and Hubert Davis fighting back tears. I don't know how Tracey Wolfson does it.
  17. The story with Lucy and her boyfriend is aggravating. What's the point of having him be the only ADA in Los Angeles who can handle her case. An attorney in the DA's office would not be allowed to work on a case involving someone they know. He would have been required to recuse himself. Also, Lucy's roommate would not be allowed to wander around at the DA's office by herself. Even before the singing, I thought the boyfriend seemed emotionally "off" when he was talking to her about watching the barrel video. There is absolutely no point in making her watch it again. They know that it's Lucy in the video, and there were no suspects shown, just her. The part with him singing the barrel song was disturbing. I'm going to be so pissed if he turns out to be a bad guy.
  18. Alcaraz and Tsitsipas in Miami was a very entertaining match. I look forward to many more matches with those two. Poland's Iga Swiatek to become world number one this week after beating Naomi Osaka to win the Miami Open. https://news.yahoo.com/iga-swiatek-beats-naomi-osaka-102646686.html Swiatek takes the number one spot at 20 years old and with one French Open title.
  19. You didn't miss much! The plot was pretty convoluted, and I stopped following halfway through. Last night I noticed that Alexa Davalos only has one vocal cadence and one facial expression. She hardly reacts to anything. Is this a purposeful method acting technique to show FBI seriousness, or can she just not act very well? I never noticed it before because Julian McMahon was so dynamic in comparison. Looks like Dylan McDermott will be introduced next week. I've liked him on everything except Law and Order Organized Crime.
  20. It seemed to me like Erika's death was mostly about forcing an epiphany for Chris and Street. Erika was a minor character, and her only significant relationship on the show was with Chris. The show did a nice job of showing her as an ambitious young officer with a lot of goals in her job and personal life. She was excited about getting a new place with Chris and had just met a new guy. It is a tragedy of a very untimely loss and also a reminder that it could happen to anyone on the team. I think that it would be interesting if they showed how the death of Erika impacts the team one year later.
  21. I view it as Hondo trying to be a responsive partner to Nichelle and perhaps going overboard with that because he is afraid of losing her. My question is, if they are getting into Hondo and Nichelle having a kid, are they going to talk about the challenges of having a kid in your forties (or whatever age these characters are)? I don't see someone as uncommitted as Hondo , with such a high stress law enforcement job, suddenly turning into a soccer dad. On the Chris storyline, I think that she is that she is in some way working out her own issues by taking care of the women at the safe house. Chris has a history of assault, which has been brought up on the show at least twice before. Maybe she is trying to heal herself by helping others who have been assaulted. It seemed to me that she was avoiding the date with Street. Court should not have interfered with her date, as courts usually run 8-5-ish.
  22. As a religious person myself, the Deacon storyline was the best part of the episode because Deacon was just using his religion to try to help people but be wasn't preaching in their faces. It was interesting how his instinct to help the prisoner conflicted with his professional obligation to maintain a distance from the people in his prayer group. I liked his prayer about the Lakers, Clippers, and Kings. Also, Jay Harrington looked hot as hell. I liked the intent of the hazing storyline, but I do not buy that a nice guy like Street would steal a woman's clothes in the locker room. Nevertheless, I think that it was cool of Street to seek her out and apologize. i wish that they would either show a Chris and Street relationship or move on and have them just be friends. Their interactions were so much more interesting before they became a non-couple. I realize that they cannot date and be in SWAT, but, even so, I feel that they should have had some more meaningful interaction at this point besides chatting about women's issues in the hallway at work.
  23. I agree. I just cannot stand Olivia in lecture mode, which she seems to be most of the time. She always seems to have the same pissy expression. Her mother was originally not portrayed as an abusive alcoholic. In season 1 she had a loving relationship with her mom, and she never said that her mother was abusive. There was a scene of them out at dinner drinking wine and holding hands across the table. The inconsistency in the characterization of Serena has not been explained. It could be a problem of old writers versus newer writers in the 23 year history. Nevertheless, someone in the production should be aware of the history of the character.
