  1. I'm sorry, but as a Law and Order fanatic, all I care about is the scenes with Jesse L. Martin. I thought he was great tonight. Captain Cold seemed to be phoning it in and the Trickster is just too campy for me. I wish they would not have brought back Harrison wells. I had higher hopes for Teddy sears and Jay. I think they have too much going on this year.....Zoom, Harrison, Patty, Francine, Wally, the Legends spin off plot...the season has just seemed slow and disorganized. I don't even know where to start with the Patty and Barry relationship. I wish they would be more invested in the action and Barry's journey to being a stronger and SMARTER Flash, but in every episode he is either revealing himself to someone, or contemplating revealing himself to someone....why not just put a sign on the door? Why is it it that Barry is more effective and romantic as the Flash than he is as Barry Allen? The only time I see a spark with any of his potential love interests is when he is his alter ego. I still think that the whole I need revenge with Patty was not well acted. Do we know how many episodes the character was signed for? I don't want her to die and I could care less if she was an "off screen" love interest, but I just feel like this has taken too much time away from the action and Barry just seems dull with her. At least last year Iris was punching out the old school friend, or doing something action related in some of the episodes. Although I think the previews is a total misdirect, I will be extremely upset if the "love of his life" was kept in the dark for months, but his new girlfriend finds out quickly, or if something happens to Patty and it is written as if Iris is the "second choice" because his PERFECT for me true love was taken too soon. We have seen very little evidence of Iris' mourning, but if something happens to Patty I am sure they will act as if Barry is just devastated. You would also think there would be some discussion about how Iris is dealing with the holidays without Eddie just to reinforce that she is mourning. Ironically I will also be mad if they start showing Iris mourning because if they have not shot all the episodes I will be sure it is coming directly from fan feedback. I think I will throw up if we are subjected to Iris saying how HAPPY she is for Barry too many more times. I knew Joe was going to give Barry that watch the minute he and Iris started talking about it and he said his dad gave it to him...didn't stop me from thinking it was the best moment in the show!
  2. So with this thought would that mean that she would have had to keep repeating it? She and Cuddy Buddy are not exclusive, she knew the old dude was sleeping around, she knew at some point David had a girlfriend when she slept with him, and of course she knew that her married man was still sleeping with his wife. Even if they were "clean" when she first started dating them, they may not have stayed clean and a condom could break. How reliable are those things anyway? Why do I suddenly feel as if I have missed a whole educational piece? I mean, does she buy them in bulk?
  3. Yes, I also remember that moment from the movie and feeling the same way. Like every black man is the best lover and that NO other man can compete. i guess I'm confused about what Mary Jane's experience and mentality is supposed to be. At this point in her career, even if she had not dated a white man, if she is in the position she is in, she would have been in plenty of social situations where others had, more than likely had been propositioned by a few, and as a "investigative" journalist, surely had learned enough to not make herself look this silly with some of the comments that she makes. I mean in general, not just about this issue. She said something similarly stupid to Mark recently. There is nothing wrong with being proud of a race, etc. but if you want to write an intelligent show about an intelligent woman, write an intelligent show. Personally I think my friends, sisters, etc. and I are very real, black and down to earth...and we don't sit around talking about some of the stuff that is shown here. I know it is a tv show, I get that, but again, we don't have to break out EVERY single stereotype to make a point. I love the parts with Mary Jane trying to push forward social issues. It would have been great to explore Lisa's struggle with her mental health (and why did that have to be centered around a man?), and nice to see her deal with her lover's wife in a different manner. I get you want ratings, etc. but you can also get ratings by showing something different. If they give "white guy" a back story, I'm sure it will be full of stereotypes as well. There are good things about this show, but there are a lot that make me do a double take and say, really?
  4. I couldn't watch the episode again, but I was just struck by how bad the acting was. Several scenes stuck out in my mind: Hawkgirl/Man fighting scene Felicity interrupting Hawkgirl/man Felicity and Barry when he has the DNA Laurel when she jumped out of the van with the canary cry (seriously bad) Malcolm and his men showing up Cisco's pep talk ANY scene with Kendra Oliver and the mother of his child It was almost like everyone was reading the lines from a teleprompter. Everyone seemed stilted , even the fight sequences were awkward. Awkward...that is the word to sum up this episode!
  5. I'm sorry, but can someone remind me that Barry is supposed to be this great scientist? Part of what bugged me is that any other time there is a "scientific" discussion, he acts as if he has no idea of how to contribute, but now he is a DNA specialist and he is analyzing the crime scene better than he has in any previous show. Overall, I am tired of Barry (and Cisco) acting so juvenile. Barry is protecting a city, but he acts like a little boy around women, and a teenager or something when he is with Oliver or other "grown ups." I can't buy him in a relationship with anyone because they have him make such silly decisions. At least show him being the brilliant scientist they told us he was when he was first introduced. In a nutshell after everything they have gone through (changing time, Earth 2, etc) there has been no evidence of maturity. I am not saying the show has to be serious, etc, but at least make them act like professional adults. Why would Kendra be interested when the choice is between a man or a boy....and yes, Cisco needs a haircut. I don't know how they intend to use Jay, but they need to figure it out or just have him stop popping up. Patty is just an unnecessary character. Unlike everyone else, I have no use for the new Harrison Wells. I think these crossover episodes just showed that both shows are losing their way. I enjoy Joe, but he had nothing to do...and was Iris even in the show?

    Iris West

I have no idea why Iris is even on the show. At this point, I have zero interest in having Wally be her brother and even less in watching her work as a reporter. I think they would have been better off making her a psychologist of some sort...and maybe having the crazy people visit her, like Arkham or something, where she was still interacting with the metahumans, or maybe working as a profiler.
  7. I forgot to watch or tape it so I missed the part with the students. Did she willfully go to the bookstore of the blackmaiiler, or did she make her come? I feel for Patrick, I hope they don't have him go to jail or on a big bender. He is actually the character that I hope gets himself together the most. I am glad I apparently missed any scene with Niecy. Oh, Patrick...why couldn't they pursue having his daughter's principal be interested in him and he gets his life together? I'm not sure why Mary Jane was taking advice from someone who tried to blackmail her. I found the Kara/MJ conversation to be juvenile and just another example of how this show has to hit EVERY stereotype....he was pink, it was not impressive, adequate, whatever was said and as old as she is taking a picture while he is sleeping and sending it to her friend...are they in grade school? We also have to just refer to him as "white boy?" I don't watch this all the time, but if I am correct, why is the first time we are shown her running a background check and whipping out the STD platter is when she has decided to be with someone from another race?
  8. Oh my god, this was terrible.I could barely make it through. Legends is not looking good if Ray and Hawks are what I have to look forward to. Everyone seemed off in this episode. I am not doing well with the time travel, mystical stuff that is going on in both shows this year. I find it all very boring. I was happy with a bad guy of the week
  9. Exactly what I was talking about in another thread. Everybody has to be a mess...and mama is a mess in her own way. They also hinted in the first season that dad had done something unwise with money. The only "normal" family member is the one they choose not to show and I'm sure they will reintroduce her involved in some type of mess. I'm just shallow. i was hoping for more eye candy. I agree her club liasion is not POW WOW to me...but neither were David, Gary D's character (sorry) and I've never thought the guy that played the married guy was attractive. I know looks are not the most important, but I do like eye candy on my shows..but worse none of her men have had a great personality either. Cuddy Buddy has a nice body, but I don't like the big muscle bound men, so he does nothing for me either once you get past how good shape he is in. I want someone who is stylish and sophisticated. The married man's suits were always hanging off him like they were too big.... Clearly those girls are not ringing up a "discount' they are not ringing up the real price and they will expect Neicy to do the same when they come for the flat iron or whatever she is selling. She really is just unnecessary. I don't understand why she can't just go back to beauty school? Has that been explained? Surely with two kids she could get some assistance? I am disappointed because I would like to see Patrick make it...the younger brother is just too arrogant. A 30,000 purse when you are paying a blackmailer? I am surprised she would be speeding down the street with her hands off the wheel. Love Kara...why don't they give her someone really nice? I am still not sure why she broke up with the other guy?
  10. I'm shallow...I was hoping for someone more attractive.
  11. Although I enjoy parts of the show, for me the reason it is not must see tv is because in some ways it sometimes plays to a lot of stereotypes. I don't think that they are so much making a big deal out of it as much as they are exploring the fact that although (at least on tv, and probably in real life?) black men frequently date or experiment outside of their race, for a black woman it is a much bigger issue. Just thinking about the conversation she had with her friend (which was cringeworthy in my opinion) it appeared that even affirming that you are attracted to something other than a black man would be a betrayal. The way her mother is portrayed I don't think it would be welcome at her home. Of most of my friends,I am the only one that has dated outside of my race and the comments that my well educated friends sometimes make or the questions they ask are amusing and tragic. It always, however, comes down to how concerned they are about what other people will think about their choice, or that the man will be judging them in some way. Of course the man will have some problem and/or he won't treat her well. My issue is not that he is white, it is that he is not very attractive! I need more eye candy on tv....where is Wiliam Levy or a clone? Ha. Ha. I am, however, a sucker for an accent! I will watch to see how this plays out, although I don't know why she had to meet him in a "uninhibited" bar. I have missed a lot of episodes with Cutty Buddy...what is the story? How did she meet him and why is he not relationship material? Is he younger?
  12. Well, I don't know how to quote another post, but i will say that I hope they do not copy Arrow. I am not interested in seeing one or both of Barry and Iris go through multiple partners before "finding their way" to each other. I cannot get behind Oliver and Felicity because of the way the writers had her sit on the sideline and watch, and in some instances, help, him romance Laurel, Sarah, the cop, the crazy mob girl, the executive at his company and whomever else I am forgetting...all the while wondering why she couldn't be "the one." That romance will forever be ruined to me, and I agree, the womanizing by Oliver Queen is part of what made him Oliver Queen, which is another reason I hate that he's lost all of his money. It was possible to show growth and maturing in the character without turning him into someone's significant other. Of course when Felicity got a love interest it was made painfully clear he was just a distraction and it was short lived. I really think if they are going to put those two together they need to start moving in that direction. The way Barry has been written is totally different than Oliver, and it would not make sense for him to go through several women, or use one as a distraction, when he wants Iris. The problem with Iris being unavailable right now is that they did such a poor job of selling the Iris and Eddie (I forgot his name already?) relationship. They just never looked like they were in love or had any chemistry.
  13. I did not care for him on Sleepy Hollow, but I realize that was just one role. I find, however, that I don't like him on this show either. I think they could have found a different more interesting actor to play Sherlock's father.
  14. I just think that the show needs to stay away from romance. I think except for the captain and the 2nd half of Firestorm ( I can't remember his name, Martin?) those are the only two couples that were briefly seen to be functional. Every other pairing on this show has been ill advised and/or boring. When the Flash focuses on the villain of the week and the action it does well...when it veers into relationships it is not so great. The best relationship on the show is Joe and Barry. I wish they would stop trying to make Caitlyn and anyone happen...the actress has no chemistry with anyone. Jay and Iris was the way to go....that would have been the right kind of conflict!
  15. I am just amazed at how Barry has had no real chemistry with anyone except for a few times when he was the Flash with Iris. With Linda the scenes came off like she was Mrs.Robinson and he was a little boy. The scenes with Patty is like he is a geeky boy with a crush on the smart girl. I can remember one rooftop and one other scene where I thought he was playing a grown man in love with a woman. I like action more than romance, but if if has to be a part of the show, at least do it well. There was promise when Iris admitted her feelings to him before he turned back time or something, then nothing. It is probably me, but I just get the feeling that the actors don't really interact outside of shooting...it just seems as if they are not even trying to sell the coupling...I don't know. I am fine with Barry having a different love interest, but Iris should too. She and Eddie were not believable, but I thought she and Jay could be interesting, or they could bring in someone else. Whomever cast this show doesn't seem good noticing chemistry between actors. Caitlyn and Ronnie didn't have any either...and I would not buy Cisco with anyone except a middle school girl..he is so much a little boy. Joe also needs someone...and he also has no chemistry with his "dead" wife.
  16. I could not believe Thea's speech. The problem is that both Thea and Laurel needed to be shown having a friend. Laurel had the Charlies Angel girl before they sent her away. Oliver had Tommy and Diggle. I don't understand why they feel that everyone's lives have to revolve around team Arrow. Even if it is not shown on screen they need to indicate that these people have an outlet. Diggle has his wife and child, and Felicity is forming a friendship, but again it is a work related thing. Maybe Oliver did want Quentin's approval, only because he knew he never liked him, but what happened to Moira's ex husband? Why not keep him around and let the kids establish and explore a relationship with him? To me, the best chemistry Oliver had was with the girl (can't remember her name) that was killing people when her father was in the mob. I actually would have liked to see them explore his relationship with the police officer he went to school with that got shot. They never even showed her healing and coming back. Do we know if the information about Diggle's brother is true? Wasn't it hinted he was still alive and one of the "ghosts" or Hive people they were fighting one night? I have fast forwarded so much this year I have confused myself! I am just meh on Sara and the whole Legends of Tomorrow. I resented the way they used the Ray character as a foil for Oliver and Felicity (who are so boring together it is unreal) but he was not interesting to me last year and he is not interesting to me now..and I feel the same way with Sara. Her whole shoehorned relationship with Oliver, and now Felicity is supposed to work with and care for both of Oliver's old "buddies." What woman wants to work that closely with women her boyfriend used to sleep with? For me, the best part of the show was when everyone did not know who he was and we didn't have multiple members of the team. If Darkh knows so much, surely he would know Lance and Oliver have met? I don't see him not having Lance followed.
  17. Not really sure what it is, but I am not as interested this year as I was last year. I will have to re watch as I missed what made them take the Wells 2.0 into the fold. It must have happened quickly as I only missed 8 or 9 minutes of the show. I agree with Jay , with everything they know now and have seen, why wouldn't there be more reservation about Wells? I like Patty ok, I just don't get Patty with Barry and not because of Iris. It is like they took a blueprint of "what would Barry like," or how can we make a female Barry? She is cute, geeky, awkward, naive, likes science, likes, police and is just so gosh darn sweet! I would have like them explore him and Linda more, a woman that might make him grow and was clearly opposite from him in a lot of ways. Patty is just too "perfect" and I agree, she shows Barry acting more like a boy. I also don't see Iris mourning Eddie, but I never bought the Iris/Eddie relationship. That is why it makes no sense for them to keep she and Barry apart for that reason. I would have rather saw Iris flirting with Jay to be honest...it would have made more sense and caused more upset. This season just seems slower to me, and even Joe is starting to bother me. I couldn't be less interested in his ex wife, and was that a licensed gun that he gave Iris? I do like Iris being able to take care of herself, similar to a few scenes last year. Cisco still annoys me...he asked for a date like a high school kid...again, I would like for them to grow the characters up.
  18. Surely they don't plan to have Iris mourn Eddie all season? It just seems her relationship with him was rushed too. He was comforting her while her best friend was in a coma....and then all of a sudden love of my life, let's move in together! I realize I have feelings for Barry, but I am going to mourn you forever! So melodramatic and unnecessary!
  19. I agree with the police parts. I actually got bored last season when they showed STAR labs all the time. The problem with iris is they don't know what to do with her. They don't know how to write her as a reporter and give her something to do that will integrate her with the team. Now she just looks like a hanger on. How long will we have to see Teddy Sears without his powers? I am not interested in Harrison Wells 2.0. i would be happy to just move on with Zoom.
  20. Oh Gosh, do they have to waste Teddy Sears on Caitlyn? I was actually hoping he and Iris would have chemistry. I could care less about Iris' mother...and Patty was too perky!
  21. Missed the last two episodes...have they really not dropped the whole Jamie and his partner thing? It would not be a good idea to put them together. They have had at least two promising guest starts on previous episodes that compliment him so much better. Sounds like this season is even more Danny centric than usual...if that is even possible. I thought Eriin's daughter went off to college?
  22. The new episode was just ok. I think they could have found a way to keep C. Thomas Howelll, even if not a regular. He added something in just a few short scenes. Something was missing, I just don't know what it is. Pandora skulking around was kind of boring. I am glad that Jenny is back, but I don't know about bringing back Corbin's son. I too think I will miss Irving, and I think Howell's character could have been an interesting dynamic for Abbie at work, rather than someone that she has been romantically involved with. The first episode felt like it was trying too hard.
  23. Kudos to the person who questioned the wardrobe for Anjunae Ellis. She looked dumpy, frumpy and motherly. No chemistry between her and Josh Hopkins, and he also had on baggy clothes! Is it a budget issue?
  24. Sooooo....the best April can do is someone with no job, an RV and sleeps in a bunk bed in her house? I'm sorry, there is something so child like about the character of Marc that I just can't. Is RA taller than him? It looked as if she was bending down to kiss him. Missed most of this, so thanks for the recap. we knew Wilson was the killer from the beginning...and that there was something wrong with him from the first time they showed him. I agree with someone above...who cares about Harry, or Joss for that matter? In fact, I don't think there was one good story on the show from the recaps and the little I saw at the end. What is sad is that I watched it for Alyssa Milano, but I don't know that it would have been better if she stayed and she was wise to jump off this train.
  25. Thanks for the recap...I normally don't advocate violence against a child, however they have made Lucy the exception. Sorry for those of you who don't want April and Marc, I read something on TV line with the show runners that it is what they want. They think he is too cute! and that they are made for each other! UGH!!! Yeah, a single mom whose husband pretended to be dead and got killed by a drug cartel needs a recovering alcoholic living in a trailer, because....oh he is so cute and SUCH a good guy! So, I guess she can deal with him because he is accepting his problem, but can't deal with her MOTHER? What jail that thinks you killed someone lets you visit over and over? I saw Harry in the recap and the previews or something showed April and Karen...next Scott will be visiting because Joss is just oh so amazing and unforgettable. Can't care about Karen, but it sounds as if she is as dumb as ever....I don't blame him for asking if the baby was his. Couldn't understand what was said about Calista, but that storyline has been a bust. I could only hope for Harry finding a nice person that didn't act like a confused child all the time, but I guess since Harry is so boring that is about what he deserves.
