  1. Once again goes to prove that if you have enough money to start with, no matter how stupid or unscrupulous you are you'll still end up with more money. Sigh.
  2. I liked the OC hunters a lot, and would have loved to have a Prof that sexy when I was at university. 😍 I wonder if the sellers of the third house was trying to create a bidding war with that low price. Because I'd be wondering what is wrong with it otherwise, especially as it was an obvious flip.
  3. There was a lot of info left out of the Puerto Aventuras episode. I wonder what the real story is?
  4. But isn't that bad science? Correlation does not imply causation or something lol.
  5. What the hell is wrong with Harrison Smith? That looked scary, what he did to CeeDee Lamb.
  6. I think there was too much furniture in the living room, and not well picked furniture at that, but I'd much rather have 2 rooms than one. I don't want my children's play area to be IN our only public space. And it would have cost a mint to get rid of that fireplace, not to mention it was beautiful and one of the main reasons they bought the house in the first place. I don't know how N&J can consider themselves designers though, not when they claim they spent time and thought on that kitchen. Or shaming the home owners into getting rid of a great chair.
  7. I'm surprised there isn't a requirement for wanting open concept, but then again maybe it's just assumed.
  8. I liked the Brisbane couple and the agent. But I was annoyed that he said he was introverted because he was a scientist. The two things have nothing to do with one another.
  9. Ah, but did they list it? Isn't this programme famous for having them film both outcomes?
  10. She wasn't "bred" in Toronto. She grew up in London, England.

    What's That Book?

I've been looking for a book that I can't remember the title of. I think it was published sometime 2010- set in England. A guy goes back to the beach town where his sister died. She was drowned or killed after running from the big house nearby after being assaulted by the house owner's nephew. The bro and sis were both teens and he goes back at least a decade later to do more investigation. Ring any bell?
  12. I also feel bad for Petra Arkanian from the Ender's Game/Ender's Shadow series. She starts off in EG as one of the best commanders in the school, the only Jeesh member to get a message out when they're kidnapped, etc. etc. But Orson Scott Card just can't help himself and not only has her be the commander who breaks during the War, but also goes on to turn her into some misogynists' ideal, desperate to be pregnant and married. Then again what else can you expect from a person with bigoted, sexist beliefs like OSC?
  13. This is true, but it's complicated. MRIs have also been seen to show features of depression and anxiety, but there's a long way to go on the research. And it would show that it's "all in his head" ;) Sadly we've been trained to think of our emotions and brain as not the same thing in many ways. Researchers at Indiana University are also trying to develop a blood test that can detect PTSD.
  14. I think a psychology and/or medical psychology class and books would help Al a lot. He, like a lot of people even Westerners, still think of emotions and mental health as not being the same as physical health. I know it's a sitcom and it did a lot of great stuff in less than a half an hour already, but I wish someone had explained to Al when he was wishing for a brain tumor that a panic disorder or PTS is just a concretely linked to your brain. The only difference is doctors can't identify it with a test yet. I was jealous of Hazel's middle school. Wish I could have done marching band that early lol. Loved Art's comment about being the bully and then throwing the ball at her stomach.
  15. Too bad the Charlotte couple didn't get that second house, because it was amazing. I hope the Nurse Practitioner is going to learn to swim though. While I'm sure she's up to date on CPR, being able to swim is just as important. I loved the word she made up when they were in the car. Though I was a bit sad the husband didn't mention "Indian burial grounds" when she was saying a new build wouldn't have ghosts lol.
  16. I wonder if he was using "cleaning" as a sort of excuse/code for how the bad feelings he gets being alone in a bigger house? I know I feel more alone in bigger spaces than smaller ones.
  17. "Floppy hair"? It wasn't styled, it was just natural. And his glasses sort of matched Dad's, so maybe HE styled them. They seemed like a great couple, good senses of humour and a nice balance. I did want to see what $500 would have gotten them though.
  18. What's wrong with every "designer" who claims the ONLY way to live in the "modern" world is open concept, especially if you have children or apparently ever want to entertain anyone.
  19. I know, but Nick said most rentals were short term ones. So I wonder if they'll stay there for a bit until they know the area better and move somewhere else later to get a different POV.
  20. I liked the Spain couple, but I wonder if they'll only stay in the seaside flat for a few months?
  21. I had to laugh when Anya said she wanted an All-American type house after watching Leaver it to Beaver and Nate immediately decides the design should remind him of Paris! So All-American! Lol.
  22. So many open concept obsessed parents don't seem to understand that they're more likely to end up watching their children be burned and under their feet while they're cooking than anything else. Makes no sense.
  23. I don't think the male Houston hunter knew what the word "unique" means. The second house seem the best option to me long term. The third house situation was horrible! It's a serious feud in the waiting with that shared drive. But at least you can retreat to the third floor when the floodwaters come in, I guess.
  24. I still feel bad for Dora from Anne of Avonlea. Davy is practically a psychopath and yet Anne and Marilla don't like Dora because she's good?! Seriously?! I also hated how Anne only keyed in only on her male pupils. Imagine if Miss Stacy had done that. Where would Anne be now, huh?
  25. What says you won't change your mind about Malia as you did about Hannah? Or can you still not stand her and only feel sorry for her?
