  1. Depends on the location and if people think they can get their money back and more by doing renos.
  2. I know it's stupid to still be shocked by anyone else's stupidity but I a large part of me can't believe people pay more for a house because of things like staging. It seems like a pointless, money wasting, middleman.
  3. No one's life is perfect, especially if you're only seeing it through the lens of a "reality" show or Instagram account.
  4. I liked Amber in Paris a lot but it's too bad she went along with the producers direction. She was a rare hunter who was obviously acting like she had no idea what to expect. I'll never understand how/why other women wear stiletto heels. Talk about bad for your health, yikes.
  5. The thigh high boots she wore when she visited her sister were just tacky and cheap. More streetwalker than stylish.
  6. I've got to admit that I'd be much more willing to hire the sister to design my house (with input from me) than Tracy to sell it. I love a good sunken living room.
  7. Jeez, it seems every "get off my lawn" viewer is at this board. I thought the daughter was fine. On the episode with the couple who wanted a place near the lake I liked the fireplace off the island look the house they bought had going. It's rare to see something unique on HGTV but that was a first for me.
  8. I'd be more interested if I thought there was even a small chance their house reno would look different from the houses he flips.
  9. I'm guessing they do ask, and might even be what the home owners order them to do. But if they don't ask, well, that's on the home owner. You turned over your keys and money. Deal with it.
  10. Private, private, private. They're everywhere in the DMV. Well, there is a new Doogie programme.....
  11. If they had to money to buy and a mortgage that was less than what rent would be it seems smart to buy.
  12. I wonder if having mum be nanny is the only way they can afford a house that costs that much? Childcare is crazy expensive. Then again, plastic surgeons is one of the highest paid specialties out there.
  13. Then you have places like neighbourhoods south of the Anacostia River in Washington DC where house prices are over half a million dollars but it's a food desert. Or places where you have to live a 2 hour drive away from your job because not only isn't there any affordable housing, there's very little housing period.
  14. Really? I can't say my family or friends have ever played a board/card game in the kitchen. But then again when it's all one room I guess no matter where you are you're in the kitchen...
  15. After they explained their business plan I spent the whole episode giggling that they were using an estate agent at all.
  16. I'd wondered if Kelsey's pregnancy might have messed with her taste buds and sense of smell. From just what the judges said while tasting and talking I thought Suu should have won.
  17. He said in the beginning he was getting a good pay rise for this new job, which makes sense as the City does pay well. And it seemed he shipped the car over for sentimental reasons, not budgetary ones.
  18. Ugh. White male is of course the boss. Not only that but he's sleeping with one of his team?! Ick. No thank you.
  19. I was always taught that an apology is MORE than just showing regret. It also means you'll try not to do it again. Seems like Mat is the type to behave in a way that needs to be apologised for over and over and over as long as he can until the people around him learn he's not really sorry.
  20. I think gaslit is a bit extreme. I'm sure I wouldn't want my partner a long commute away while I was home with a newborn. That 4th trimester is brutal.
  21. I wish the Austin hunter hadn't described herself as "a girly girl" just because she didn't like lizards. Sigh. BTW, were those lizards his job or what? If he got rid of half of them they would have had another $50k to add to the house budget lol.
  22. I've got to disagree. I think in this situation Sandy was being the opposite of the micro-manager she's always accused of being. She left it up to the head of the department. It's not Sandy's fault that the HoD dithered around wanting to make everyone happy instead of doing her job.
  23. I liked the San Antonio hunters but the voice-over reader/writer needs a few lessons. They actually said the couple were from "the inner city of Ohio" lol.
