  1. From the TV Critics press tour today, Season 2 premieres Dec 1 and the show has been renewed for a 3rd season ETA: More info from Variety, including Season 2 has 10 episodes https://variety.com/2021/tv/news/nat-geo-life-below-zero-spinoff-trafficked-renewal-1235043442/
  2. First-look promotional photos https://www.spoilertv.com/2021/08/61st-street-first-look-promotional.html
  3. Note also that the Futon Critic listing indicates the show will also have an episode on Sunday Sep 12 at 8:30pm The small number of episodes doesn't surprise me given it's airing so late in the Summer
  4. I had the closed-captions on and it noted that Zari spoke Farsi to Bahred at one point during the game. I know the family is Muslim but was it ever noted they were Iranian/Persian? I had assumed when Zari was introduced that they were Arabic
  5. The original series had it somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. The new one is probably somewhere similar
  6. Looking back, I find it amusing now that people were upset that John Barrowman got just a cameo as Captain Jack in this episode after 10 (15?) years away. It turns out they were just having some fun with it given he was prominent in the subsequent special (which they tried to hide as long as possible) Still love this episode to bits and it still remains my favorite episode of Jodie's era (so far)
  7. The season finale will be on Sunday, September 19 at 8pm for some unknown reason and going up against the Primetime Emmys on CBS per SpoilerTV https://www.spoilertv.com/2020/03/upcoming-finale-dates-2020-updated-26th.html per FutonCritic http://thefutoncritic.com/showatch/fantasy-island/listings/
  8. Season finale September 5 according to SpoilerTV https://www.spoilertv.com/2020/03/upcoming-finale-dates-2020-updated-26th.html
  9. It appears I neglected to post the July 29 press release about Chibnall and Jodie leaving, which also indicated that Series 13 will consist of 6 episodes that the press release called a 6-part Event Serial https://www.doctorwho.tv/news/?article=jodie-whittaker-chris-chibnall-leave-doctor-who#_ https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/2021-doctor-who-jodie-whittaker-chris-chibnall So what we will get is the following for Series 13 and the following specials: - Series 13, consisting of 6 episodes, to be broadcast this Fall (Autumn) and will supposedly be one story with each episode a chapter - A special to be broadcast on New Year's Day 2022 (thought to be about the Daleks) - A special to be broadcast in Spring 2022 (thought to be the Chinese pirates episode) - A feature-length special to be broadcast in Fall (Autumn) 2022 that will be part of the BBC's Centenary celebrations and where 13 will regenerate The 3rd special, the Regeneration one, is supposedly being filmed this month, reportedly this week (but that hasn't been confirmed yet). Also, a new promo pic was posted on the Doctor Who Facebook and Instagram accounts that looks rather interesting: https://www.instagram.com/p/CSooYXuMmWF/ ETA: Here's the tweeted image in case you can't get to Instagram It's hard to see here, but in the picture on Instagram, it looks like the Doctor's braces are sparkly Navy Blue. Someone on the Instagram page is claiming they made the braces and calls them Navy Yorkshire Tweed
  10. It was definitely a mixed first season. I love the premise but the execution needs some work. We'll see how the second season goes, though with Covid, that likely won't be until next year, if not later
  11. Also to note, HBO Max is working on a followup documentary series to Eyes on the Prize
  12. That just may be your local station because the normal network time is 8-9pm ET, which is when my local station is showing it
  13. Thank God Lenny went quickly and not long and drawn out like Mike last year, made worse by my mother passing not long before and my dad (who had dementia) going quickly downhill soon after. I’ve mostly been ignoring the Nixon Falls storyline but I still would have been aware of it while ff and seeing it mentioned here and it likely would have been too soon to deal with another very drawn out character death, even if we barely knew him
  14. I found the second episode far more funny and entertaining than the first. With the first, they are clearly struggling to thread the needle with being a police comedy right now but that episode felt kind of awkward. We’ll see if they can make it work this season, but I’m not hopeful. The second episode was classic B99 silliness and I really enjoyed it
  15. I was thinking I had seen the episode titles of Season 2 before and it turns out that this was the Season 2 that premiered on Discovery+ back in February. So this will be the linear channel debut of Season 2
  16. I did not see that switchout coming, but I noticed Nicte seemed to be acting strangely so I figured something was up. But is it bad writing that no one figured a Spree would try that face switch trick or are the writers telling us people were being very complacent? I too thought Alder was going to kiss Tally in that hallucination and wondered if that’s what they were going for. Yep, at least that was what the actress was going for When the biddies hiss at someone, are they trying to cast a spell or just expressing disapproval?
  17. I liked 12 better by the 3rd season when he had gotten softer, but before that there were times I questioned why he even made the effort to help people
  18. Another tweet says the writers are working on the outline of Season 3
  19. Preliminary ratings for first episode: 0.4 in the 18-49 demo and 1.966 million viewers. Terrible numbers in general, not surprising for late Summer, but in spite of that, it actually won its timeslot in the demo and came in second in viewers (behind America's Got Talent) https://www.spoilertv.com/2021/08/tv-ratings-for-tuesday-10th-august-2021.html Maybe it will have a chance at renewal
  20. Besides a Hearst 2-parter, American Experience will have an episode on first female Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor on September 13 https://pressroom.pbs.org/Programs/a/AMERICAN-EXPERIENCE/Sandra-Day-OConnor-The-First Independent Lens will show "Ferguson Rises" November 8 https://pressroom.pbs.org/Programs/i/INDEPENDENT-LENS/Ferguson-Rises There will be an interesting 2 part series "La Frontera with Pati Jenich" premiering October 15 on the sights, sounds, and flavors on the US-Mexico border https://pressroom.pbs.org/Programs/l/LA-FRONTERA-WITH-PATI-JINICH Several interesting POV docs starting at the end of this month https://pressroom.pbs.org/Programs/p/POV Nova has a really interesting doc called "The Cannabis Question", premiering September 29, that looks at the history of Cannabis in the US https://pressroom.pbs.org/Programs/n/NOVA/4811-The-Cannabis-Question Check your local listings of course
  21. I’ve not seen a press release for it yet nor is there a panel for it at this week's press tour, but the 3-part “Future of Work”, premiering September 1, looks very interesting. It explores the monumental changes in the workplace and the effects on employers, employees, educators and communities. I’m retired now so it doesn’t affect me directly, but it’s definitely an important issue that affects a lot of people. The show’s website https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/future-of-work/ ETA: Ah, finally see a press release about it on their pressroom site https://pressroom.pbs.org/Programs/f/Future-Of-Work
  22. I’m working my way through “Girl in the Basement” about a young woman held for years by her father and impregnated by him. Judd Nelson plays a thoroughly repulsive in this
