  1. Also in defense of Jill, we don't know how often she has been a good friend to those who are doing for her now (maybe to reciprocate). As an aside, if she had done any good turns for someone else and posted about it, some would criticize her for that, too. So I'm choosing to believe the simplest explanation is most likely: she has people in her life who are kind and supportive. Go Jill! Yay!!!
  2. I have such Josh Duggar/CSA fatigue right now, but I can't stop reading about it, even though there has been no new news since Friday. HOWEVER, the article Pinke linked was hilarious, not in topic but in execution. The writing was bizarre and apparently translated by a bot? I don't even know what they're trying to say here: "Dagger was detained in Springdale, Arkansas the day after he crouched, but no charges had been announced at that time."
  3. I wonder what Massen could have told her that would make Lucy think he had the means to "cure" her. Lucy didn't strike me as naΓ―ve or gullible. Also, Lucy seemed... a bit mature (to put it delicately) to have had a baby post-Touch. I was surprised when Penance mentioned that she'd killed her baby with her turn. Also also, Massen and Lavinia's friendship has been brought up multiple times. Red herring, or indication that they're aligned in whatever is going on? I loved episode 1, 2 and 3 were kind of meh to me, but episode 4 brought me back on board. My only semi-gripe was how easily Maladie was captured. I know she's coo-coo, but did she have a plan when she went to see the captain? It sure didn't pan out, whatever it was. That was weird and anti-climatic. I can't wait to find out what Amalia's backstory is, and how she and Penance teamed up. Like someone else mentioned here, it's kind of nice not to be spoiled with source material.
  4. Oh, my. I had never heard of this and looked it up. They're called 'fatbergs!" Here's a pic of a commemorative plaque for 1 such fatberg that was destroyed in London. The more you know.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatberg
  5. Joan, I have never used broken-clock as a verb before, and I love it! Thank you!!! πŸ™‚
  6. Wow, they must be reeling and scrambling at TTH right now. Today is a beautiful day for a laundry room breakdown, I'd say. 😡πŸ₯΄πŸ˜±
  7. Do you all remember the video posted of someone's birthday celebration a month or so ago when all the kids were sitting on the kitchen counters? I think this is also when we saw Anna's pregnant belly. The part that really stood out to me was when Josh put (I think) Giddy onto the edge of the counter to be with the other kids, and then backed away quickly. At the time it seemed really irresponsible to leave a toddler so close to the edge, by himself. But now I'm wondering why Josh moved back so quickly. I wonder if he isn't allowed to handle/hold non-M's (or at least not allowed to hold Austin and Joy's kids) and he didn't want to be seen holding him. Just pure speculation on my part, of course, but he definitely backed away immediately. It was weird.
  8. Kind of like "Succession," for any of you who watch that wonderful HBO show. The dad of that show convinced his prodigal son to take the legal fall for him, but at the last minute the son ratted out his father at a very public press conference. That would be a shocking Duggar turn if that happened today!!!
  9. And let's be honest, the better he looks, the better his opportunities.
  10. Wait, was his Nashville "opportunity" work as a leasing agent???
  11. Ok, that proposal was kind of sweet. My cold, dark heart just warmed and lightened a little bit.
  12. I'm so bored by Brandon. I'd rather have 2 straight hours of cranky-pants Jeanne.
  13. I know that all God's creatures deserve love and care, but these 2................ Especially Jeanne, fucking waste of skin. Why is this Dr. Now's problem???
  14. I read The Sound of Gravel earlier this year (probably also based on a recommendation found here). I can't remember the specifics, but I remember it being shaking-my-damn-head reading for me. I just finished a book called "Seventeen Sisters Tell Their Story." It's about - yup - 17 sisters from a polygamous family (1 dad and 3 moms). They're Barlows. The sisters' stories are similar in many ways, so there is an element of monotony. But the monotony also reinforces the legacy of dysfunction and disordered thinking of polygamy, in my opinion. I'd give it a solid 6 out of 10. The authors are 2 of the sisters, Barbara Barlow and Virginia Webb. *I bought the Kindle version, which was only $2.99.
  15. To me, Priscilla and her family all look like the children from the 1960 version of "Village of the Damned:"
  16. Until I read your post I didn't know what it said! LOL
  17. While I've determined that Paedon is not my cup of tea (and based on my demographics and beliefs I doubt he'd be a fan of mine, either) those 2 pictures melted my cold heart a little bit. How sweet!!! I think I'm perceiving everything about this family through an anti-Kody lens right now. After quickly fawning over the pics, my next thought was: at least 1 Brown man is doing right by Avalon (in other words, where is Kody?). Kody is the worst.
  18. Maybe it's because I'm not Touched, but I didn't find Mary's song to be very beautiful. Her notes were too sharp for my ears, I think.
  19. I think it would be so fun for all of us to read the book together and have a book club-type discussion, chapter by chapter. Unfortunately, that would mean buying the book. I'm not giving Jill my money.
  20. Ozzie is your dog???? I've always assumed Ozzie was your (human) son, strictly based on your username. πŸ™ƒπŸ˜…πŸ˜‚
  21. My longest-lived pet was my cat Louis Arthur. He was my first pet as an adult on my own. I got him when he was around 7 weeks old (per the vet) and he lived 18.5 years. Diabetes got the best of him (euthanized 2.5 years ago). He was the best gentleman cat ever. I still miss him. Sigh.
  22. Honestly, when I see video from mega church services (think Joel Osteen, who I actually enjoy), auditorium is the first word that comes to mind. Apropos of nothing, for me, there would be no level of comfort or feeling of "home" worshiping in a mega church.
  23. The above is a screen shot, though, so no filtering magic, I don't think. I also think she looks good, for her.
