  1. Stand firm Willow, don't give in and stop being mad at Michael too fast. I hate how JZ's death is being used to make me feel sorry for Carly and Michael when they deserve to be yelled at. Didn't Carly once slap Liz at Kelly's when she was working as a waitress there? Something about Jason sleeping with Liz. Could Diane be any more eager to get Sonny divorced from Nina? Even more than she wants to get him off the charges of assaulting Cyrus. Yes Lucy, that's really respecting Bobbie, plotting to bring her sister-ih-law down. Why is Cody's secret still going on? It's a nothingburger. When it gets out all will be forgotten in a couple of weeks. And the show ends on Sonny going to Carly. The countdown clock for reunion #43456 is set. Even more, she found her true self working for the little people with the hearts of gold instead of the Metro Court snobs.
  2. I'm glad Fitzroy survived his father and trials of last season and remains on the force. The exchanges with him and Seamus ('you should never cheat on your wife'...'wait until you're married'). Nice to see Ivy and Barnabas back too. I miss Moses, his nephew doesn't seem to be nearly as cool. LOL that no one cared that the original Elysium excluded women. My biggest problem with the show is that I don't like Eliza. She's pushy and lacks self0awareness unless Ivy or William push her to it. She claims that Nash's detectives quit because she's a woman but she would be a hard person to work for. She shut down the poor accountant every time he suggested that money would be better spent on advertising than on hiring actors and putting on a show but I think that he was right. When the matron mistook Eliza for a new nurse, I thought that she was going to go undercover for a while. It was disappointing to hear her claim privilege instead. Yes, it is harder to be a lady detective but it's Eliza's justification for every time things don't go her way rather than because she could have done things better. I suppose I'm not impressed because I've met other Victorian lady detectives before: Marcia Muller's Sabrina Carpenter is set in San Francisco in the 1890s and the original of lady detectives, Baroness Orcy's Lady Molly of Scotland Yard published in 1910.
  3. How dare she! So clearly not good enough for Sonny compared to Carly or Olivia [/s]
  4. I'd forgotten what a shot in the arm the show got when Burton left and they had to get creative. These spoilers are the same old, tired stories, Carly and Sonny can do no wrong working to reunion #52493, everyone angry at Nina and Valentin, Liz and Finn play detective, Lucy and Scott scheming. Is anyone other than Georgie hoping for a Maxie/Spinelli reunion? Come back, scab writers, come back! But what story is there to tell? That forty years ago we didn't know enough about psychosis to accurately diagnose him? In those days you could identify the patients by their shaking muscles from the side effects of the early drugs, cultural psychiatry was in its infancy and it occurred to very few people that mental illness might look differed in different cultures. That's something better suited to a clinical psychology or medical school lecture than a soap opera. I hope that they don't make this about racism because it will 1. potentially be inaccurate (SOP for the show) 2. take away from real racism issues. My question would be who prescribed Marshal antipsychotic drugs for 40 years without reassessing him? That's real grounds for a malpractice suit.
  5. They are really doubling quadrupaling down on the Nina hate. It feels like they're all going to line up to take a punch at her. Yes, because Valentin and Nina are the terriblest people on the show, Maxie and Spinelli get together, Robert and Diane are teased getting together, more Marshall psychosis story, Sam and Dante parent teenagers. There is not one upcoming story that I have any interest in.
  6. @YorkshireLass the convention for shows with a single thread but multiple seasons is to indicate which episode you're posting about and be considerate of those who haven't had the episode aired in their area yet. Episode 4x8 "All I Have is How I Feel" Two episodes left and it really feels like things are wrapping up. Are they trying to set up some sort of romance between June and Mark Novak? I hope not because while Theo makes mistakes being impulsive, Novak is the guy your real friends keep you from dating. It's complicated by the fact that she's his boss right now, and that he keeps promising that he will follow hospital rules and then goes rogue again. This time he left his patients in the care of a doctor who doesn't have hospital privileges so that if anything went wrong, he couldn't treat them. And he just got reinstated for going against a patient's wishes and then yelling at a nurse. He keeps messing up, and then he promises that he won't do it again, and then he does it. As the old doc said, the hospital really isn't the place for him. The day before this episode aired, CTV posted a video of the cast talking about the Bash/Mags relationship.
  7. Episode 4x8 "All I Have is How I Feel" Guest starring Eric Peterson, Sheila McCarthy Kudos to the show for coming up with a completely new medical idea (glued together couple with one needing defibrillation) Truth about not enough family doctors in Toronto. There are hubs for refugees though.
  8. The only one that I can think of who regrets her mistakes and is trying to learn from them is Nina. Possibly Cyrus who Sonny just beat into a coma. Peak hypocrisy, this show.
  9. If there was ever an episode of GH to skip, it was this one. Willow yelling at Michael was enjoyable for about 5 seconds but that was it. I wish that I hadn't watched. Everyone yelling at Nina was awful and there is more to come. I don't feel sorry at all for Carly because of her behaviour. I'm sure the Carly stans loved it though. For a while, Sonny/Nina was rootable. Sonny's behaviour today with both Nina and Cyrus has ruined that. Joss: "[Bobbie] was our rock. What will we do without her?" (Maybe expect your mother to grow up?)
  10. Do you mean that Nina is getting hated on? The irony that Lois told what Nina did and that's considered a good thing, and Nina also told what Carly and Drew did and that's considered a very bad thing, is not lost on me. Robert has a soft spot for women who bend morality and occasionally do what is wrong (see: Holly; Anna) but at least they had a moral code. Diane is amoral, she has no sense of right and wrong, only what she can get away with. Pushing Alexis into Neal's arms cost them both their professional credentials but Diane has no regrets. That's why I can't see Robert with her in anything other than a FWB relationship. (Was Neal's out-of-nowhere drug use ever resolved or was it just dropped?) I understand why the mayor should use social media more, she does need to get re-elected after all but my social media feed yesterday had a post from Sandy Garrossino at the National Observer newspaper advising people to limit personal information on SM. Hopefully Burton doesn't come back. I don't see anything that Jason could add. At all. But it would not be surprising at all that they would get rid of CM to bring back the Real Jason
  11. The scenes with the vets talking about Bobbie and flashbacks with JZ saved the show today. I was remembering back when Bobbie was jealous of Laura because she wanted Scott for herself. I also liked Tracy figuring out what Scott and Lucy are up to. So much to hate today. I knew that i was going to hate all the yelling at Nina scenes but it was even worse to actually see it. Of course Michael doesn't tell Willow that he was blackmailing Nina. I know that I'm supposed to feel bad for Carly but the writing did LW no favours. Bobbie's "medical condition" was type II diabetes, something that a lot of people have and it doesn't prevent them from living. Crying that she didn't know that this was the last time she was going to get to talk to Bobbie -- how many of us know that? I didn't with either of my parents. Of course Brook Lynn had to tell Tracy that it's Monica's house. Again. The writer's should have left Nik's return for another episode. There is too much in this one already. Singapore is 13 hours ahead of Port Charles so if he doesn't hurry the work day will have ended.; From your fingers to the writers' ears. Unless it sets up a Sonny/Carly reunion. That relationship is dryer than the remnants of my Christmas turkey.
  12. Or it was Tracy's fault for leaving Bobbie there alone in Amsterdam to deal with Luke's affairs. They will probably use it to prove that Nina reporting a real crime is a worse person than Harmony kidnapping Willow and then pimping her out in a cult.😢
  13. Drew seems to be auditioning for the "hair-trigger, never-to-be-oppossed" Sonny role. I'm waiting for him to start throwing barware.
  14. Drew, Ned isn't the reason you went to prison. Nina isn't either. You and Carly are the reasons. Heaven forbid they do more than lipservice to breaking the law. I am so tired of this whole SEC storyline and the sword over Nina's head. If you don't know the law on insider trading, you shouldn't be allowed to run a company. My eyes! I had to mute the Carly/Drew scenes. Post Pentonville Drew is even worse than Life Coach Drew. They've really ruined BM's Drew. Sam/Dante was a total snooze. Yes it's okay to make decisions for your child That was so obviously to get a cliffhanger for the end of the show. Bad writing. Why would he want one with Diane, and yet the show is pushing it. At least Olivia has some kind of moral compass; Diane has none.
  15. Carly can do no wrong or suffer any real consequences for her actions and Esme is back to being a psycho. The show's real writers are back with a vengeance. I miss the scab writers already. Lois needs to be gone a month ago. Between this version of her and Carly, they embody the traits I most dislike in my sex. Wasn't Cyrus the one who arranged to have Drew beat up? Why is he nagging Nina to admit to Sonny that she told the SEC? It would make more sense for Cyrus to tell Sonny himself since he hates Sonny. Esme's story would be more interesting if she remembered who she was and instead of going back to that person, Esme realizes the changed person she was when people like Laura and Alexis helped her and struggles with who she wants to be. Carly's entire history is wanting power. But she's so self-delusional, she doesn't see it. The show would be much more interesting if she did see it and owned it. She is going to develop a Black Widow reputation. So much for Lois saying to Sonny "You deserve to know" in the last episode. Shut up and go away, Lois.
  16. Why is Finn, an infectious disease doctor, doing surgery? I was tired of the Lois/Olivia team-up anti Tracy/Quartermaines weeks ago. Lois' Best Before date is long past. COMMITTING INSIDER TRADING IS STILL A CRIME EVEN IF IT DIDN'T MAKE MONEY. What is wrong with these dingbats? l need Liesl to come back and take Scott away, saving me from this horrible plot to bamboozle Tracy. Even if Tracy falls for Scott, what are the odds that Tracy will not insist on a pre-nup? On a shallow note, I liked Alexis' blouse and Kristina's outfit. I had forgotten about that scene. (When is Nelle going to show up alive on the Pennsylvania side of the river?) I was thinking about that fact that Carly knew that Nina was desperate to find the child who had been stolen from her and knew that Nelle was that child but refused to tell Nina. Then later, knowing how Nina reacted to losing Nelle, Carly took it upon herself to withhold the information from Nina that Willow was also her daughter. If Willow had not needed a stem cell donation, Carly would never have told. That's something that I don't think that I could forgive, especially since Carly has zero regrets for doing it and said that she would do it again. No one can win against Carly and so other characters are neutered for her. The worst is a temporary setback so the CarlyBrave&Strong&LovesWithHerWholeHeart can come out.
  17. And it would have been reported by the Aurora shareholders who lost a lot of money when the stock crashed after they bought it at Carly's inflated prices. I'm glad to see that Felicia has a brain and has figured out why Cody is lying about his paternity. On the other hand, how stupid is Lucy? Tracy is not so desperate to fall for Scott because she has lost Luke. At least I hope she isn't. In other not-news, Alexis misses being a lawyer. I liked Brook Lynn defending Tracy. Also the day player who is Gregory's new doctor. It's a Christmas miracle.
  18. For all that Carly keeps accusing Nina of acting the victim, Carly herself is a master of revisionist history. Carly accused Nina of stealing Sonny when Sonny wanted to eep their marriage and it was Carly's decision to divorce him. Carly also accused Nina of taking the MetroCourt from her when Carly was the one who lost money insider trading and Nina offered to give it back to her for free. Every time Carly accuses Nina of playing the victim, it's really just projecting. I don't know if at this point Nina would refuse to forgive Carly if Carly were genuinely sorry for what she did to Nina and asked Nina to forgive her. We probably will never know since Carly is completely unrepentant for anything and everything she did to Nina, and even told someone (Drew? Michael?) that she would do it again if she had the chance. Nina's actions come from her pain: going to court to be able to see Wylie. phoning Carly from Nixon Falls to tell her that Sonny is alive and then not saying it when Carly attacked her, phoning the SEC after finding out that Carly had hid the truth about Willow from her.. Carly's come from her sense of superiority and a desire to punish people she doesn't like. I wish that the show didn't put the criminal on a pedestal and make the person who reported it the villain. Carly was the one who committed a crime. not Nina. It's the Christmas episodes and we watch unhappy people being punished and are asked to side with those who aren't willing to forgive. Do better, show.
  19. Why put on such a depressing episode at Christmas? CW and JK knocked their scene out of the par but don't listen to 'the priest' Nina! I was trying to figure out why Cyrus would care and then I remembered that he hates Sonny. I have gone from being a Sprina shipper to checking my email when they're on and it's because of the way that they are writing Trina. "Maybe Esme's not being generous, maybe she has a date." was very ungracious. Who has a date on Christmas Eve especially when it is your baby's first Christmas? I can understand why Trina feels that way but it's really making me dislike her. And then we see Esme alone on Christmas Eve at the grave of her psycho father. And alone again on Christmas Day. Nice empathy there from Nik's family. Trina is 22 (23?). Portia and Curtis should understand if she'd rather spend the night with her boyfriend than opening a present with her parents. I hate the way they infantalize Trina. I was trying to remember if the police had her DNA on file. Probably so she's out of luck here. They can and do write anything that they want but BPAD usually comes on in the late teens and twenties so it would be rather late for Kristina. Kristina strikes me as more ADHD than bipolar but there is a significant comorbidity so maybe. I hated the scenes of the Brooklyn Twins mocking and snubbing senior citizen Tracy in her own home. That was disgusting. If they wanted to show the children how to celebrate Christmas, they should model that the gracious thing to do is to let everyone celebrate in the way they feel most comfortable (provided it's not X-rated) instead of forcing everyone to do it they way they want it
  20. So is this the end of the Anna/WSB/shooting saga? Did the old writers come back and decide to shut it down as fast as they could? What a fizzle out. Dante and Anna come out of this looking like they are auditioning for the Keystone Kops. And I am really tired of Anna endlessly apologizing for being a double agent 40 years ago. People on the show today have done worse much more recently and you don't see them wearing hair shirts. Speaking of not-too-bright: Nina deciding to work with Michael instead of telling Ned that Michael know and is still publicly blaming Ned. She should know by now that Michael cannot be trusted to be fair. And that his tribe will never be angry at him for longer than a half scene. Poor Scott. The show needs a Christmas miracle for him (not Lucy!). I wish that we had seen part of the Living Nativity play. Could they not get the girls who play Avery? The rest of the cast could have been just background. I suspect that I wouldn't hate Carly so much if they wrote her is a bit of nuance and conscience instead of like this. From what I've read, you're right. I wonder if it was the actor who did this. The doctor told Molly that her eggs would most likely not be viable which is when they started looking for a surrogate who would use her own eggs. I think that's what Andrea did. That scene was the first that they talked about using a donor egg for Kristina's surrogacy. The positive with a donor egg would be that once the baby is born, Kristina would be out of the picture except as an aunt like Sam. (Until the child misbehaves that is and Molly and TJ blame Kristina for not taking enough care while she was pregnant.) The negative would be that the DNA would be from a donor and mostly unknown to TJ and Molly. DNA is a hellova thing; I remember when I was working at a family clinic and a family brought in a child that they had adopted a few years before and now wanted to take back. The girl was a handful and the family was not coping well. Knowing what I know now, I think that the girl had ADHD as probably had her unwed teenage mother. The family stopped coming after a couple of months and sadly I think that they gave up on the girl.
  21. I love that Gregory used the term 'defenestration'. But given Alexis' osteoporosis and brittle bones (did the writers forget?) jumping out of a plane may not be the best idea, Conflict in the Blaze/Kristina relationship. I get it, Blaze cannot be out, will Insecure Kristina be unable to take feeling rejected in public? You have a Super Sekrit file that the bad guys are killing to silence. Do you Have only the original copy and take it with you to the deserted waterfront? OR Make multiple copies, digital and hard copy, and send it to everyone you know so that killing you won't do them any good. I'd pick option 2 so clearly, I'm not WSB or PCPD material. Interesting that the show ended on Esme remembering rather than EvilWSB stalking Anna and Dante. Esme remembering is a more subtle story than this show usually goes for. If TJ cares at all about genetics, and he does since he's using his sperm, Kristina is Molly's half-sister which means that there is a 37% genetic match to Molly. For that if nothing else he should be glad. I'd be skipping the egg donation. You'd think that they're 67 instead of 27 with the "We can't wait. A. Single. Moment. Longer". TJ tends to baby Molly a lot, as if she's a fragile flower. It gives me the icks. That should have been her 346th clue that he's shady. But Carly's narcissism is a powerful shield in itself.
  22. From an interview that I can't remember where, I heard that Charlotte Richie felt that Barbara had run her course on the show and asked to end her time on the show. I don't like deaths even on TV but I have to admit they got a lot of drama out of Barbara's.
  23. I like that Robert Gossett won, he's been a stalwart actor for years. He's been nominated for SAGs and a previous Emmy but at 69, this is his first win of an award. Eden McCoy on the other hand is still hasn't figured out the meaning of 'nuance'.
  24. Not enough to be in the Pikeman/WSB/Anna storyline, why is Carly being inserted into Ava's storyline about Austin's death? It's none of Carly's business what Ava tells Sonny (not to mention she's already told him about 'killing' Nicholas). I'm just waiting for Carly to corner Kristina and tell her all the horror stories about being pregnant. Poor Robert. Diane wants "dessert". Also, it's not picking out your own tree if you order it from a florist. A psychologist once told me that about half of therapists getting into the job to understand their own problems. If Adam can get through med school, he will be a better doctor for being able to understand how patients feel. TJ is such a judgey McJudgerson (this is why Adam will be a better doctor). He's acting like Kristina will decide at 6 or 7 months pregnant "Nope, I've changed my mind. I'm not going to go through with this." I fear for that baby weighed down with his expections,
  25. Dante: Why do you keep all that information unless you're going after someone. Me: Or unless you're trying to protect yourself from someone who is powerful going after you. How stupid are you Dante? Carly: "I leaned how and when to compromise." Me:🤣🤣🤣 Why would Nik murder Austin? Austin saved his life (even if Ava doesn't ow that, the audience does). Trina was generally right taking to Adam but wrong to tell him to follow his music instead of premed. When his parents kick him out, is he really going to be able to support himself ostracized by his family? Jonathan Miller, Rob Buckman, there are many physicians who also had a career in arts. There is even a European Doctors Orchestra. Something to be truly grateful for. Issues with how the baby is being raised, absolutely. That could be a huge problem. But that's not what Alexis and everyone else keep raising. They focus on the physical problems of the pregnancy itself, and as someone who had a lot of symptoms including fainting (to the extent that I was medically forbidden to drive), I don't think it's that big a deal. If the show didn't want to pay for Cassandra James, have Sonny talk to new co-chief of staff Portia.
