Defendant is counter claiming because he says plaintiff called the health department saying the cart was moldy, and he's never had a health inspection issues. S3.E11 "Overlapping Mortgages" (This claims to be new and season 2, they're actually on season 3) New, 4/24/2025 "A flipping couple bought a fire-damaged house next door to their own home, and now they've made an offer on a new, larger place for their family. Tarek looks to help them over some high hurdles to get their bank account through this flip in one piece." Claudia and Edwin bought a hoarder house next door to their house. If they succeed they will not only raise the value of the house, they will increase the value of their house. Purchase price $400,000, 3 bed 1 1/2 bath, rehab $95,000 break even $529,000 List for $629,000. House was only 1,000 sq ft even with the addition. House had a fire and was abandoned for a couple of years. Burned garage or ADU, and they think of moving and listing both homes at the same time. Houses are also next to the freeway. House looks so much bigger without the trash inside and out. Tarek says don't build an ADU, it's not enough return on value to make it worth it. He also tells the flippers to run comps for recent sales with and without a garage, to see if building another garage will profit them. Flipper Edwin didn't get permits, so he lied about it. City shut the project down. Edwin also lied about the addition where the fire started isn't permitted. City may ask them to demo the addition, which is the square footage that was making this profitable. Tarek points out the since wife is in charge of design, that Edwin should butt out. After three months, the plans and permits are approved. Addition had to be demo'd. FLippers want to rebuild the addition to code, for $25,000. Edwin still doesn't know the numbers on construction and finished work. Addition is done, for $ . Edwin thinks they'll finish in 21 days, as always, he's delusional. They think reno is $121,000. Edwin is still trying to change design choices, and wasting time which equals money. They're in escrow for the next house for $1 million in Whittier. Edwin just spent $20,000 on a carport. Tarek tells them to put one on the market, and then when that is under contract to put their current house on the market. They're on month nine, and don't have a kitchen yet. House took 10 months to complete, when flippers said 4 months originally. Purchase $400,000, rehab $126,000 plus carrying costs $578,000 break even. List $715,000 (their house next door is under contract for $690,000, and isn't as big or nice). $751,000 under contract $173,000 profit

22 April--“Tenant Tantrum” 6/5/2019, Season 22 / Episode 138 Cases-FBI-I Don't Owe You A Penny - Landlubbers Beware - Stiffing the Band Case 1-Plaintiff is suing defendant for non payment from a contracting job, installing a pool. Defendant says plaintiff wouldn't even look at the flawed contracting work, so he owes him nothing. Defendant claims the pool installation including digging down to make pool same height as decking from previous pool. Contract says nothing about matching the deck/pool level, in fact it says they won't match. Defendant paid half of the contract price to plaintiff, so defendant is another person ripping off a contractor. Defendant wants pool edge bumpers even with the existing decking (this is an above ground pool). Plaintiff will get the remaining money plus interest, and they will fix the two items defendant is whining about. Case 2-Mommy suing defendant landlord for security deposit her adult daughter paid. Defendant says daughter never paid a security deposit, left rotten food behind in the room, and the fridge, and says daughter's room reeked of rotting food. Mommy claims she cleaned the room, and it was spotless. Daughter claims she has anxiety and learning difficulties, so she couldn't clean. No written agreement for the tenancy. There is a cancelled check for first and last month, and rent. Plaintiff gets one month rent back, and two additional weeks. No security deposit, so $900. (I remember this unhygienic daughter just graduated from massage therapy school) Case 3-Plainitff says defendant's dog attacked his dog and broke two bones in the poor dog's legs. Defendant is smiling like her dog is blameless and so is she. Plaintiff suing for over $4,700. Vet bills aren't signed and on letter head. Plaintiff says it was at the dog park, defendant threw a ball for her dog, and instead of going after the ball, defendant's dog went after plaintiff's dog. Defendant tries to claim it's an unofficial dog park, but plaintiff claims it is. Then, defendant claims the onlookers were rough with her dog, and made it worse. Defendant said they would pay half the vet bills, and on a payment plan, but didn't pay anything. Plaintiff says he has three statements from witnesses about other attacks, but Judge M won't accept them, no signatures, not notarized, not affidavits. But Judge M reads the statements for the camera. Defendant claims no attacks ever, I believe the witnesses. Judge M says dog parks are risky, and nothing to plaintiff. Plaintiff claims defendant has been banned from the dog park. No animal control reports to support either. p 134 Don't know where they posted it last time. -
21 April “Sister Oh Sister” New, Season 11, Episode 122 (Wendell Daugherty Jr and Robin Wade vs. Crystal D.Wade ) From the show site: The defendant is accused of spreading damaging lies about the plaintiff. Plaintiff/sister Wendell Daugherty and Robin Wade suing defendant /sister Chrystal D. Wade for defamation. Suing for $5,000. Plaintiff says sister is jealous of her, and has been escalating her attacks on social media. Defendant says she told the truth, and it's not defamation when it's the truth. Plaintiffs are dating, and have been for a few years. Robin tells the relationship with her sister. Defendant says sister has been awful to her since defendant's daughter was incarcerated. The postings claim defendant slept with plaintiff boyfriend just to hurt her sister. Wendell denies any sexual relationship with Crystal, and says she made a pass at him, and he rebuffed her. Defendant keeps posting that she slept with Wendell. Defendant claims Robin betrayed her many times. She also posted that Wendell was sleeping with Robin's daughter and with other women. She also posted her sister's personal medical history too. After defendant posted her nasty information, plaintiff cut Crystal off. Corriero says plaintiffs had to prove that Wendell didn't have sex with Defendant, but says everything she did was to turn the plaintiff. Plaintiff receives $5,000. “Little Pink House” Rerun, Season 11, Episode 1 (This is part one, part two is on tomorrow) p. 50, 9 September 2024

S8.E15 "Saving the Homestead" New 4/20/2025 "Ben and Erin help a returning Mississippi family save their homestead from being sold. They restore the home with a country farmhouse design, preserving its historical charm and creating a place where future generations can make lasting memories." Shamila and Jody Chancellor, are the homeowners. Ben saves the lazy Susans from the kitchen. They find pine tongue-and-groove in the kitchen ceiling, and some of the wals. The current floor is asbestos linoleum, and the floor below that the homeowner thought was pine flooring, is actually subfloor. Since the lino is asbestos, it has to be safely removed. The insulation contractor says they can insulate behind the tongue-and-groove without destroying the walls. The new flooring is lovely. Ben is redoing the sofa, loveseat and chair from the house, they are great wood. He's working with Mr. Wilbur. David's tile work is beautiful, as always. Mallorie and Erin are using an old cattle yoke into art. It was a light and Shamila hated it, the yoke is attached to the porch ceiling, and they're hanging beautiful plants from it.

S11.E07 “The Magic of Spring Foraging” New, 4/21/2025 Host Jesse Palmer welcomes the seven remaining bakers to a magical spring forest and challenges them to create ethereal roll cakes infused with an assigned citrus fruit. These roll cakes must not only showcase the citrus' flavor but be decorated with enchanting forest accents, brought to life using the imprime design method, where intricate patterns are baked into the cake, transforming it into a piece of edible art. Then, the competitors make tiered macaron cakes featuring an assigned garden vegetable for judges Duff Goldman, Kardea Brown and Nancy Fuller. 7 Bakers: Priya -Calgary, Alberta Her chocolate desserts are beautiful. Chocolatier and pastry chef (Says she looks like Mindy Kaling) Corey -Washington, D.C. Wants Nancy to be so happy she conducts music. (She did on the first episode) Raveena Oberol-Vancouver, B.C. (Judge on Wall of Bakers) Made her own wedding cake, opened first storefront at 22. Kari -San Diego. Seven years clean and sober. Lisa -Boston. Catering company chef. Paul Feybesse-Bay Area (wife Monique was on Top Chef, Season 19, Houston) Co-owns two bakeries. Trained as a savory chef. Mary-Frances-Calgary, Alberta. Culinary instructor. Preheat Challenge: create ethereal roll cakes infused with an assigned citrus fruit. The roll cakes must not only showcase the citrus' flavor but be decorated with enchanting forest accents, using the imprime design method, where intricate patterns are baked into the cake, transforming it into a piece of edible art. Lisa's is adorable. Priya's is grapefruit, roll looks great, taste is OK, but no grapefruit flavor. Corey's is beautiful, and taste is good, but cake split a little. Raveena's is lovely, but it didn't roll correctly, taste is good. Mary-Frances's look nice, taste is good. Paul's is a roll cake on it's side, and not a Swiss Roll, and taste is too tart. Kari's split badly, taste is not good, and cake is tough. Winner: Lisa (Gift Basket is $1,000 cash, and it's the last gift basket of the season) Elimination Challenge: competitors make tiered macaron cakes featuring an assigned garden vegetable. This is the last episode that Corey could use his immunity, so he uses it. Paul's is adorable, taste is great. Priya's is good, a little bland looking and leaning, taste is OK but no ginger. Lisa's is gorgeous, but Macarons are rough and not a Macaron, taste is good. Corey has immunity, looks gorgeous, but messy, and taste is lacking. Macaron shells are overbaked. Raveena's looks cute, and taste is too hot from the chili, but tasty. Kari's is lopsided, and uneven, it's a mess. Taste is not great, testur of Macaron is bad. Mary-Frances did a lovely decorating job, taste is great. Top Two: Raveena and Mary-Frances Winner: Mary-Frances Bottom Two: Lisa and Kari Eliminated: Kari -
The mozarrella balls were just barely mentioned at the end, I have no idea if they were popular or profitable. I wasn't interested in that product at all. I didn't like that seller didn't mention the Lucifer sticks were super hot. Not including part of his food truck and brick-and-mortar businesses was a choice that seller is lucky didn't drive the sharks out of the deal. So, the seller's entire idea was not frozen, but fresh sticks, and Lori wants to freeze them. I wonder if the deal closed?

My Lottery Dream Home - General Discussion

“Ozark Lake House" S17.E10 New, 4/18/2025 After winning a hefty $250,000 on a scratcher, a couple's ready to find their dream lake house in the Missouri Ozarks! David's first time in the Ozarks, and the first time I've seen winter there, at Lake of the Ozarks. Mike and Lori are from Iowa. Wishlist-Mike and Lori are looking for a summer home for now 3 bed 2 bath, Mike would be happy with a fixer, around mile markers 11 through 26, $500,000 or less budget. Lake is 95 miles long with 1100 miles of shoreline. Realton says what the couple want, no HOA, retirement eventually, vacation for now. I wonder if the HOA properties allow four big dogs? House 1-Echo Overlook does have a HOA -3 bed, 3 bath, 2200 sq ft, $450,000 at mile marker 26. Very open, great view, dock is with a dock fee at the community marina, kitchen is smaller by lovely, great furnishings and comes with everything. great deck on main level with main bedroom, downstairs has a full bath, and two beds, plus another guest room with another bath and two beds. House 2-Turkey Quarry, stand alone, with it's one dock. Mile marker 20 - 2 bed, 1 bath, 651 sq ft, $395,000. No HOA. It's tiny, but Mike said he was willing to expand. Comes furnished. Main bedroom has direct access to the lake. Dock is massive, but wood not concrete, with a nice deck by the lake. House 3-Broadhead Bliss mile marker 5 -3 bed, 2 bath, 2,000 sq ft, $425,000. Huge house, community has tons of amenities in the community. Huge main bedroom, main ensuite is big too. Guest bedrooms are separate, with another bath. Three car garage, one space for the golf cart. Nice back yard, great deck. They bought #2. It's waterfront, with a dock. I wonder if they regret buying #2, when they saw how much house they could get for $425,000 #3. Also, I wonder if the house they picked could be added on to? Since it's lakefront, there are a ton of restrictions too. Also, from watching the Lakefront real estate show about the area for one season, the best docks are concrete, not wood. There are a lot of rules about building there now, so what the couple want to build may not be possible. -

All of the kids have weight issues too. Amy feeds her kids sugary, fat laden junk. Amanda's kids are pretty big too. -
Jordan is very laid back, he appeared on his brother's show during the Camp Revamp series, and was very helpful, and creative. He's just not outgoing like Jonathan is. Jordan not only does the summer tours with the singing group, but owns at least one lovely restaurant. I can't believe I'm watching episode 2, but I'm killing time until Love It or List It's season premiere starts. The Deboers Elk wallpaper in the laundry room, and tile choices are hideous, and a wall of cowboy hats hanging on the wall is funny. The hats will get blown off the wall every time the door opens. Den/library is very dark, including the ceiling. Striped tile in powder bath is aawful. I love the Kalama's wall paper, and their laundry room, and moving the powder bath. Den doors are shorter than the other doors in the house. They added a Murphy bed to the den, for a seventh bedroom. Jon and Jordan's taste is so lovely, and the laundry room has a dog washing station. They borrowed Roxie from someone on the crew, and give her a bath, it's adorable. Entry hall wood paneling is beautiful. Turning the office into a two desk space for the kids is so nice. powder bath is spectacular. However, no art on the walls. And the swan faucet in the powder bath is cute, at least I think so. Alison's metal antique powder bath sink is awful. The big hidden swivel door into the den is interesting, wallpaper is not pretty, and powder bath is super dark. Entry hall oak paneling looks unfinished. No door on the laundry room. Judges are Mina Hawk, and Jasmine Roth. This week's winners are: Chelsea and Cole.

The Kozy K-9 was like that, a grippy rubber backing on a denim fabric, for single seats or entire back seats in one piece, with seat belt holes. I loved the one I had. It didn't cover the floor or doors, but it was easy to install, hooked around the head rests. I actually chopped the part that dragged on the floor to fit the seat better. I got rid of it when my last dog died. They don't make them any longer. I thought the seat covers looked like a very useful product. -
I watch it on my Spectrum app On Demand, but it's not posted until Friday morning, same with Last Chance Kitchen on You Tube. Some shows weren't being posted until the season was over, but I don't know if that's how it's done currently. I watch Top Chef as it's airing, so I have to watch this on the On Demand version.

S3.E12 "Small Budget, Big Problems" New, 4/17/2025 "Two friends decide to buy a house together sight unseen and discover major foundation issues, and things become tense as they scramble to find additional funds. Now, Tarek steps in to assist and make sure their friendship survives this tricky first flip." (I watch this on Spectrum On Demand, the titles for episodes are right, but not the numbers of episodes and seasons). Joe & Jorge bought a house in Watts, with a squatter in residence. Bought for $430,000 from a wholesaler, bought sight unseen, right in a flight path. Both men are realtors, and went to flipping seminars. They took 4 months to get rid of the squatter, and he trashed the place. Budget is $50,000, totally inadequate since the plumbing was ripped out, walls damaged, floors rough. They've owned the house for 5 months. Floors are trashed and sloping. Lots of water damage from the squatter's vandalism. They say local comps are $600,000 to $700,000. House is tiny, no room for a second bathroom. I can't believe they think they'll fix this place up for $50,000. Break even is $630,000 and a small profit. Then, Tarek says the market shift means house may only sell with a $30,000 profit. Contractor found huge piles of dirt under the house, causing more foundation issues, and costing more money. After adjuster fee, the $30,000 from insurance is now $24,000, so only $44,000 left in budget for reno. Foundation, demo, costs $24,000. Leaving only $20,000. The flippers have $44,000 more credit, so total budget is $88,000. When they opened up the house, they found a huge amount of termite damage. Contractor promises a week until finish and staging. And the more conservative partner picks a different back splash tile. Jorge and Joe are arguing constantly, mostly over contractor not delivering on deadlines. Contractor still isn't working on the job, and they're over budget, and comps are still getting lower. House is almost finished. Kitchen layout is ridiculous, stove in shoved in the corner, you can' barely open the oven door, cabinets are different styles. I can't believe they're going to sell that house with that bizarre unusable kitchen layout. Exterior paint is sloppy. Main bedroom is tiny. Potential buyers notice the wonky floor slope. Break even is now $616,000, but they want to list at $635,000. Tarek says comps show it will sell for $575,000. Never sells even with two price drops, and a couple of months with no offers. They pull it off the market, claim they're going to fix the floor slope, and the kitchen, then relist. A big flop. Final sale price $580,000, so a big loss even before they fixed the floor slope, the kitchen layout, cementing the front yard, and some changes to the back yard. https://www.redfin.com/CA/Los-Angeles/9540-Defiance-Ave-90002/home/7301315 https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/9540-Defiance-Ave-Los-Angeles-CA-90002/20956670_zpid/ Redfin says current value is $626,000, Zillow claims $580,000, plus carrying costs, extra work they paid for, so either way a big loss.

I think they usually film in a part of the restaurant or where ever they film, so they don't have to get waivers from other customers, and the fewest number of people they can arrange. With My Lottery Dream Home, they only film in restaurants on days they're closed, or in a separate section, so they don't have issues with people acting like fools in the background, and no waivers needed.
