  2. There is an article claiming to explain the Tom C. remark about David opting out. It really doesn't explain anything, but simply says 'opted out' in a different way. So, I'm guessing we'll never know the exact way it happened. Tom did say that cheftestants are all offered the option of LCK, so I'm thinking it all happened the way we guessed, David refused to compete any more. I think Soo would have easily beaten David anyway.
  3. I remember on last season's international edition, the chefs who were from other countries said that their version of Top Chef was very different, so I think it takes a while to get used to the way the U.S. competition is operated.
  4. I thought it was bizarre that so many do croquettes too. When I think of cheese dishes, croquettes don't come to mind.
  5. Rose's Journey Supersized edition is on tonight 7 to 9 p.m. I love how supportive her family is. I'm not surprised she apparently has no teeth, many people grew up without dental care. (Where I live there is a huge medical surgical center, they had a guest surgeon do an operation that may make conventional denture implants obsolete. They use a general anesthetic, and put the anchors higher than the jawbone, and there is no healing time, and bone loss doesn't matter. You leave the surgical center with implants done, and your first dentures in place. Maybe a dental school would take Rose on as a demonstration patient for something like this.) Her attitude is so refreshing, tells it like it is, takes responsibility, and really tries. Look at her at the first weigh-in, she's determined to change.
  6. Supersized edition of Rose's story is on tonight 7 to 9 p.m. Central time. She does the best job with her exercises of any poundticipant I've ever seen. Even before the other clinic weigh in , you can see how much better Rose is moving, and she's no longer on oxygen. I love her absolute joy when she finds out much weight she lost, and that Dr. Now wants her to move to Houston, and tells her the cardiologist cleared her for surgery. I know she goofed, and only lost 5 lbs., but she's off oxygen, walking on her own, and admits everything wrong she did. I like that cute little house in Houston, and renting furnished was so much better than hauling furniture back and forth. Getting one on a concrete slab was a good idea too. (I remember previous poundticipants moving to Houston, getting a house on a raise foundation, and it was dangerous because they're getting what they can afford, and it's a limited budget usually. Homes aren't always the best maintained in the affordable price bracket.) Bonus scene after surgery is a yoga class.
  7. 4 April 4 p.m. episodes- Shock Collar Ambush?! -Plaintiffs pit bull owners Carolyn and Kevin Heina claims defendant/other dog owner Ross Greco wouldn't pay her for vet bills, $1824, and should have used his shock collar his dog had on to break up a dog fight. However, there is the collor isn't a traditional shock collar, but an Invisible Fence sensor, and her dog was the aggressor. Months later she saw the defendant at a dog park, and parked behind him to block him in. Many jurisdictions call this false imprisonment. She also posted flyers, and did online postings saying he had a vicious dog. Plaintiff also claims defendant filed a false police report about false imprisonment. Defendant's story is totally different from plaintiff. His dog is an English Mastiff, and she has a Pit Bull, and another big dog. Defendant claims pit bull was the aggressor. Also, it was an invisible fence collar, and did he even have the beeper control with him? Plaintiff has no case for vet bills. (My opinion is if an English Mastiff went after another dog, the other dog would be dead). Eight months later defendant went to the dog park, and when he put his dog in the car, the woman blocked him into his parking space and refused to move. Even more interesting, plaintiff claims her dog is so innocent, but defendant says he knows of four more incidents with her pit bull. I absolutely believe the defendant, though I'm sure JJ will give him nothing. Too bad the defendant didn't have the other four dog owners in court as witnesses. Nothing for anyone, and JJ tells the man to put the last few minutes of her decision on his phone to show people that he's innocent. Case dismissed. p. 518, 16 January 2024 Faulty Fiance?! ; Lovers' Playpen Party Pooper! 5 p.m. episodes- p. 517, 7 November 2023 I Need You to Love My Lamb! ; Playing the Ride Share Game p. 482, 29 December 2020 Intimately Transmitted Disease Drama! ; Dog Destroys $3,000 Mattress!
  8. Week: 8 to 12 April according to Titan TV. Monday-"Bail Bond Blow-Up" 9/26/2017, Season 21 / Episode 17 Tuesday-"Hospitalized After Dog Bite" 9/27/2017, Season 21 / Episode 18 Wednesday-"Romance Rent Rage" 9/28/2017, Season 21 / Episode 19 Thursday-"Couch Catastrophe" 9/29/2017, Season 21 / Episode 20 Friday-“Greedy Girlfriend" 10/02/2017, Season 21 / Episode 21 (Some channels are running eclipse coverage on 8 April, so some may not see our TV judge shows).
  9. 4 April “I’m Not My Brother’s Property Keeper” New, Season 10, Episode (George Garcia vs. Raymond Garcia ) From the show site: The plaintiff claims his brother prevented him from collecting his belongings from their mother's garage. The brother denies this, but he does want their mother's restraining order against the plaintiff enforced. Should the brother have done more to facilitate the return of his brother's property? Plaintiff suing brother/defendant for denying him access to his property, property was left at mother's home, and mother has a restraining order against plaintiff. (From the show site description, the last line sounds like Corriero wrote it. How is it the defendant role to break the restraining order to get the plaintiff's stuff to him?). Plaintiff is suing for return of property, or $2,800. Plaintiff was living in mother's garage, claims defendant forced mother into getting a restraining order. Defendant says he went through the garage, and nothing belonging to plaintiff is there. Defendant says plaintiff's entire demeanor changed after a 1970's motorcycle incident. Plaintiff was living in the mother's garage for years. Defendant says mother was being neglected by plaintiff, says plaintiff was bringing lots of sketchy people to the mother's home. Some woman told defendant that when she stayed at the home for a week, she reported the mother's situation to APS, and mother has an emergency protective order to get plaintiff away. Mother later had a restraining order against the plaintiff, citing abuse of the mother. Mother is 96, lives alone, and in great health. Defendant issued a 30-day notice to plaintiff in 2020, plaintiff moved away, but plaintiff violated the restraining order, and plaintiff was arrested. Plaintiff served six months in jail for violating the restraining order in 2020. Plaintiff claims $2800 worth of property was trashed by defendant, but defendant denies that. Defendant took mother to the eviction office, and mother paid for the eviction process. Dendant's only role was to put the paperwork on the plaintiff's door. How can the judges even consider the fate of property left behind four years ago? Corriero says defendant should have inventoried the property in the garage, but it's not his property, it's the mother's property. Defendant says BPD told him to stay away from the brother. Defendant submitted a photo of what's in the garage, last December there was a burglary in the garage, someone broke the door to get in. Defendant claims the property in the garage is his mother's, not plaintiff. Plaintiff claims mother told him to pick his stuff up any time. Tewolde doesn't understand why defendant is afraid of plaintiff who hears voices, and assaulted the mother. Plaintiff claims defendant had his truck towed, which defendant denies. Defendant claims brother did have a truck, but he never had it towed, and truck just disappeared. Mother said she didn't know where the truck went, it just disappeared today. The restraining order is for five years, and includes a stay away provision to keep plaintiff away from the house, and the mother. Juarez says plaintiff is suing the wrong person, the mother owns the property, and received the restraining order. Corriero says it's not malice on defendant's part. Tewolde agrees. Juarez says plaintiff needs to go to the issuing court, to get an exception to look in the garage for his property. Plaintiff claim dismissed. Juarez tells plaintiff to apply to the original court for an exception to the restraining order, and with police supervision search the garage. How irresponsible of her! If defendant is to be believed, then plaintiff assaulted the mother already, they don't just issue five-year restraining orders for nothing. I would tell the plaintiff too late, and the restraining order stands. “LIEcensed Driver” Rerun, Season 10, Episode (William Nave III vs. Christopher and Elijah (driver) van Mulligan) (p. 44, 5 December 2023-Chalby's recap on the next posting down on 5 December 2023 is excellent). From the show site: A man says he underwent back surgery after he was rear-ended in his car by a teenager. But he's had a history of back injuries and didn't bring any paperwork linking THIS surgery to THIS accident. Will the teenager be let off the hook for the medical bills, or will the judges determine he made the plaintiff's existing back issues worse? Plaintiff and his long history of back injuries and surgeries, blames a teen who rear ended him for another surgery. The lack of paperwork from a surgeon claiming the injury resulting in the surgery was recent, and caused by the accident, is missing. However, defendant didn't have a license or insurance. Plaintiff blames the accident for his surgery, homelessness, getting fired by his employer, and getting his car repossessed. Plaintiff says he has the paperwork in storage, because he's homeless, and can't carry paperwork because of his back. Plaintiff waited three weeks to seek medical care after the accident. I would throw everything out. I'm hoping the judges dismissed the theatrical whining of the plaintiff. Chalby says that plaintiff got the estimated repair for the bumper, and the cost for his xray. I wouldn't have given him a dime. Plaintiff receives $2036 for the bumper and cost of his X-ray. 5 April “Gold Wedding” Rerun, Season 10, Episode p. 45, 8 January 2024 “Handyman Damage" Rerun, Season 9, Episode 161 (Nasir Choudhery vs. Moses Raiz and Adrienne Villines) Plaintiff landlord says defendant were tenants at another home, then he moved them into the rental in qesteion. Defendant claims he gave notice to landlord, and property manager a month before moveout, but plaintiff claims he received a week notice of move out. There is a huge hole in the front door, a big hole where a camera was installed, bullet holes in the house and windows. The lawn looked lovely on move in, but on move out it is awful. lawn care was the responsiblity of the tenants. Also, a large pile of trash bags were left in the driveway. Tenants parked 4 cars in a 2 car driveway, hanging out across the sidewalk, and into the street. That was another police issue too. Tenants claim they never got the itemized list of damages, and Corriero doesn't believe the plaintiff sent the list in time, or in the proper format. Defendant agrees the address is his new residence. Back lawn is destroyed, and defendant claims he let lawn die. Defendant Villines claims kids were shooting BB guns. Chaundry says he never heard anything about a crime wave in the neighborhood, and he didn't replace entire windows. Sounds like a lot of crime for a low crime area. No pets allowed according to lease. Defendants' lease said no Chows, no Pit Bulls, but defendant Villines claims they had to get big aggessive dogs to protect their property. "no Pets Allowed" is written on multiple pages of the rental agreement. (This happened in Clovis, CA, it doesn't have a reputation as a high crime area. ) Defendant's counterclaim dismissed. Judges give plaintiff $1185 for damages, but security was $1150, so judges say it equals out. Nothing for plaintiff.A ridiculous decision by all three judges, as usual Corriero was the worst. See DoctorK’s description of the case for the dirty details of another landlord screwed over by the judges, on p. 41, 21 August 2023. (I missed the episode first time around, fortunately, DoctorK saw it) (Because of the eclipse on Monday, ABC will air eclipse coverage starting an hour before HB airs in my area. I may only have the show summary,)
  10. I was so thrilled that Rose managed to embrace the program and change her life so dramatically. At the beginning I wondered if she would be another failure who claimed they wanted to save their life and did nothing, but she did the work, embraced Dr. Now's program, and was absolutely honest about how she gained so much, her eating habit, and when she slipped she admitted exactly why, and took ownership over it. I hope she continues, her heart and other problems are treatable, and she gets skin surgery. Her family was so supportive, and willing to do whatever Rose needed to save herself.
  11. I didn't like Kenny's lacy looking chip on his dish. Michelle's looks fantastic, all of the judges love it. I like that the judges and crowd agreed. I like Kristen more each week. Three favorites Kaleenna, Michelle, and Dan. Winner is Michelle, and I'm so happy for her, the crowd loved her dish, and so did the judges. Bottom three Kenny, Manny and Kevin, they are the crowds' least favorite, and also the judges. Kenny's dish sounds awful after the judges critique it, and Kevin's does too. Manny was a failure of time management. I love how the other contestants are consoling the bottom three. Bye-Bye to Kenny.
  12. Delana, Krystal S., and Abi were all successes, only William wasn't this season. You can tell the rookie nurses like the weigh-in lady, they don't get their feet far out of the trample zone. 393! I'm so thrilled for her, total loss 171!
  13. I think they start discounting all of that stuff on Friday or Saturday. Walmart looked like Black Friday with people charging the discount Easter candy. I went to Walmart Saturday, and met a neighbor in the parking lot, he was kidding and said everything was sold out, and they were closing the store.
  14. Yes, they do. They aren't in the regular stores, but are available. Mollie from 90 Day fiance had a bra shop in Kennesaw GA (I think there) that did fitting for really big bra sizes. Poor Dr. Now has seen so many patients backslide and fail that he's worried Rose will too. I'm pulling for her.
  15. Great grands, at least the tiny baby is a great grand kid. That's a cute house. Good idea to rent a furnished house. Month 7-449 down another 43 lbs, and a total of 115.
  16. The whole family have good attitudes.
  17. Apparently they have candy for the grandkids when they visit, not a good situation. Isn't that Cassandra?
  18. Month 1-564 Month 3-497, down 67 lbs Month 5-492, still down 5 more lbs. Houston is expensive compared to where she lives. At least she's not making excuses, or blaming the scale. New goal 50 lbs in two months, and move to Houston for surgery.
  19. So, her cardiologist approved! I'm so happy for her. Oh no! Giving in to cravings, that's terrible.
  20. Russell (husband #3) is a long distance truck driver. Most of the long haul truckers I've known are only home for a few days every month, and that was before the pandemic. There's a constant shortage of drivers, so I bet the husband's lucky to come home for more that a day a month.
  21. I had a perm for a while in the 80's, unfortunately I looked like a poodle. That is a good breakfast for her. She seems to be moving better, and she still has a great attitude. She's really doing a great job on the exercises! Weigh in at a local clinic, a great idea. Is this month 3? Weight month 1-564 Month 3 - 497 down 67 lbs! I'm so happy for her. And now Jenny Craig ads. I read today on a hairstylist board (I'm definitely not, no talent with hair) that most people don't have dandruff, they have dry scalp, and dandruff shampoos make it worse.
  22. What sadist booked Nutrasystem and Taco Bell commercials on this show?
  23. It's part of the Little Debbie snackcake line, the road to Hell is paved with Little Debbie cakes and brownies. At least Rose is honest about her eating habit. Poor daughter-in-law Sam almost hurled with Rose saying she would eat doggy doo-doo if Dr. Now told her to so she could lose weight.
