  1. So. Jas demanded to get to the U.S., marry, and that was her goal. Now, she's complaining that it's a 12 month minimum wait for parole to visit Panama. Then, Gino supposedly screwed up doing her paperwork, didn't list her kids, and it's a big issue now. Gino is about to get screamed at by Jas again. $5,000 attorney and filing fees, with at least 18 months to two years to get the kids in the country? If they had been listed on the original application it would still be at least six months. Cue Jasmine's next screaming meltdown. Attorney skipped the part where a custodial parent probably has to consent, and they won't.
  2. I remember them. They bought twice in town I think, a huge townhouse, or single family, and they either had a ranch house, or moved from it, I don't remember. I found an article about them, and their house purchases. https://www.baltimoresun.com/2016/01/15/hgtvs-house-hunters-to-feature-frederick-couples-search-for-new-home/ They have salons in Frederick, MD, and Charleston. They seem to be doing very well, and I'm so happy to read that about them.
  3. New episode tonight, "Shug (Wesley) and Spice" From the show site: A couple who live in a house that once belonged to her grandmother are ready to make some big upgrades to the generational home in the form of a much-needed additional bathroom and an outdoor kitchen. Shug (Wesley) and Sarah, live in a house that was her maternal grandmother's, and want to change it for their family. Shug is husband's nickname. House had a fire that badly injured the grandparents, and the community fixed the house while the grandparents were in Mobile at the Burn Unit. House is 3 bed and 1 bath. Erin will change the carport, and front exterior. Living room looks like a bowling alley, with awful lights. They'll add a gas log fireplace, redo the flooring in the living area. increase seating and counter space in the kitchen, with brick floors. Erin's changes look great. They'll also add a much needed attached laundry, and another full bathroom, and extend the house wall to the laundry/storage space. Plus, an outdoor kitchen, and accordian window from the kitchen. Ben listens to Christmas music year round, so he's the Christmas King, not Shug. He's going to change the awful lights to a snowman, but then decide to play shuffleboard with them. I love that they restored the grandmother's metal patio furniture. The whole house is so spectacular. I love how warm and lovely the living room is. The new floors in the living/dining and kitchen are adorable. I love the cased opening between the living and dining/kitchen. Ben's dinner table is gorgeous. I really like the back splash tile. The new mudroom, and attached hallway, plus the new bathroom are so gorgeous. The Christmas closet is so cute, with the repurposed living room lights made into a snowman.
  4. I still remember a woman who bought a quirky shaped house in L.A., sold a few years later for well over double the purchase price plus reno, moved to Nashville and bought a place, then married and they bought a place over a river on a hillside. That's the only 3 time appearance of anyone. Then there was the former baseball player buying the mansion in Phoenix (I think Phoenix, a desert area), and then bought a place in Mexico on the HHI version. I think there was a man who bought in Telluride, and then bought a place in Key West that was huge. I bet there would be a lot more buying a home, and a vacation place, that could be on the show. I enjoy watching the older reruns, and seeing how the taste changes over time.
  5. I enjoyed the bubble cakes, but I'm not a fan of team challenges. Zoe and Sandro were a bad match, and I wish Zoe had left instead of Sandro. In the Earth Day / Bug episode, none of those desserts looked like bugs. Several of the baked Alaskas didn't look like a tasty dessert either. Robert's Alaska looked awful. Zoe's polar bears looked more like Basset hounds, and it was melting. The Igloo was so cute. I loved Alex's desert oasis looked cute. Rochelle's looked awful, and melted. I didn't like the look of Kate's, it looked like asparagus. I loved Alex, Steven, and Sabrina's baked Alaska. I wish they had done a double elimination Zoe and Rochelle. I wish the judges would decide if the contest is great decoration, over great taste.
  6. I'm watching the OWN reruns, and Jamika, the Navy veteran, amazes me. Moving to NC, from California, relocated to the Charlotte area. She did a lot of reseach before deciding on Charlotte as a great location with lots of resources for her five children. She wants a 5 bedroom, 3 bath, and I love that she planned instead of just moving and wondering if the place is a good fit. I love her realtor, who says she's now family, and I like that. The realtor really seems great, telling her the realities of house shopping in a competitive market. She is a bit obsessed with houseplants, and it's obviously a scripted topic. I agree with Jamika, why does a seller expect top dollar, when there are so many unfilled holes it looks like it was machine gunned?
  7. "Restful Miami Condo" (HGTV claims this is new, it's not) This originally aired under the title : "South Beach Birth Rite", after an inheritance from her parents, Miami native Julie wants a vacation condo in South Beach. They live in Flagler Beach now. Condo is for Julie and Jim. She's shopping with her best friend., Bobbi. Condo 1- Ribbonttail Road, in South Beach, Art Deco, 675 sq ft $295K, 1 Bed 1 bath, condo is cute. It comes with the furniture. Condo. Parking behind the building. Condo 2-Sailbay Central, HOA $700+, resort style living, 1 bed 1 bath 850 sq ft, $439k, the building lobby is gorgeous, with a fantastic pool, and view of the water. View from the condo is water/bayside. Small balcony, but great view, the living room has a Murphy Bed. plus the main bedroom is big, with a great view too. bathroom has a glassed-in tiled tub shower combo. Lots of amenities. Condo 3-Amberjack Abode, two story townhouse 4 blocks from the beach, 2 bedrooms 1.5 baths, 802 sq ft, $445k. I love this one, open floor plan, hardwood floors, laundry room/half bath, full bath upstairs with huge shower. 2 bedrooms upstairs and kind of small, both bedrooms the same size. She chooses #2. They faked me out with the remark about #1 coming with the furniture, but all three were furnished. The 29 March episode is another rerun with a different title---“BBQ Home in Carolina" (This is a rerun of a season 13 episode with a slightly different episode title it was originally called “Philly to Fayetteville”) Philadelphia couple relocates to Fayetteville, North Carolina, to be closer to family, and David steps in to help them put their $2 million lottery win to good use finding the perfect home for hosting weekend barbecues.
  8. Programming schedule is changed for Monday 25 March, rerun of the 18th episode is 5 to 7 p.m. Central, new episode for the 25th is 7 to 8 p.m. Central. 8 to 9 p.m. on Mondays are Chopped reruns.
  9. Yes, prepare as if you're going to be on TV, competing for your professional reputation, and go with a variety of dishes. Certainly have some that will probably be featured because of the location and resources, and plan a four or five course meal for the finale. Have at least a couple of desserts you can make well, and look good. So many come in unprepared, and I don't understand that.
  10. Yes, Delana's adoptive mother was the bio mother's first cousin. She also raised Delana's daughter almost all of the time, until at 12 daughter moved in with Delana's brother, and stayed.
  11. So, on the previews for HEA, Jaz and Gino acting shocked that they can't get her kids in the U.S. They had to know that putting them on the visa application was the easier way to get the kids here, and that waiting this long screws everything up for the request to get the kids visas. You have to do it when you apply to come here permanently, and bring them with you, from what I've read. I'm betting it's all a storyline, and the kids were never coming here. Or if you apply later it can take years, after the children reach an age where they can no longer piggy back your visa application. And will they let the kids here if the custodial parent says no?
  12. I'm watching the Supersize edition of Delana, and her story is even sadder the second time around. I'm wondering if she had tooth damage even as a child, the pictures of her don't show pearly whites even as a child. I know several people who never had proper dental care as kids and as adults, and their teeth are just as badly decayed. That's so dangerous for your health. I don't know why they blurred the McDonald's stuff, as if we wouldn't recognize the fries package, and burgers immediately. I hate that right after James and Delana are discussing giving up sweets, they have that Nerd Gummy cluster commercial. Did I miss it, or did they cut the fall on the way to grocery shopping?
  13. Just saw a Little Caesar's ad. They have something similar to the Pizza Cupcake at least for a while, not the same brand but no shipping involved. They're called Cheesy Puffs, have pepperoni, and three cheese flavors. I did see the original Pizza Cupcakes at the grocery store lately, so at least you can avoid the huge shipping costs.
  14. From the show site: A man's struggle with weight loss grows even more dire after an accident leaves him mostly paralyzed, with the following seven years spent bedbound leaving him at over 700 pounds and with few options to get his weight back under control. After reading Abi's heartbreaking story, I hope he really tries with Dr. Now's program, and is a success story.
  15. I think it was over 3 months. If it was a sensor, sometimes they are in short supply. I'm wondering if the van needed a new engine or something too.
  16. “Don’t Pay Me, I’m Pulling Up!” New, Season 10, Episode [Alicia Coronel (Audi driver) vs. Meliza Vasquez (driver and girlfriend) and Angel D. Ramirez Pablo (car owner )] From the show site: A young woman learning to drive stick shift rolled backwards on a hill and hit another car. Photo evidence only shows a small scratch on the bumper, but she's being sued for three grand. After this ordeal, maybe she should STICK to automatic. Plaintiff suing defendant/beginning stick shift driver for $3,350 for damages. Plaintiff says defendant rolled back into his bumper, photos don't show much damage, but it is a bumper. Defendant says plaintiff should have gone through her own insurance, but there is no damage anyway. Hill was a slight incline, not a steep hill. Damages are to the bumper on the passenger side. The high cost is to the sensors in the Audi bumper, they are for parking and automatic stop. So, why didn't plaintiff go through defenant's insurance. Plaintiff called the defendant owner's insurance policy, but insurance company needed information from Pablo, but he never did contact the insurance company with more information. Defendant Vasquez says she went forward three feet from the stop sign, and then her car slipped back. Plaintiff's husband sent a text to defendant Pablo, asking how the insurance claim was progressing, and told him it wasn't going to be a $500 repair, since it's an Audi with sensors. Pablo didn't answer him for months after this. The body shop had to take the car bumper apart to get an estimate. Pablo claims he never said he would pay for the car damages, and his insurance company, but he still claims the damages are nothing, and he shouldn't have to pay. Defendant Vasquez denies the bumper and sensor damages are from her car, and claims there is red paint on the plaintiff's car, so her car didn't do the damages. Accident was October 2021, and taken to shop in December 2022. Judge Juarez is being dense, car paint has to be matched, and probably an over coat to make everything match. June 2022 letter from defendant's insurance company say they need more information from defendant. Pablo offered $500 to plaintiffs, but that was turned down. Ramirez claims bumpers don't match, and says damages are exaggerated. The 'red paint' defendants claim are on the Audi are just reflections. Defendant's insurance company never followed up with his insurance company. Corriero and Tewolde agree to give plaintiff $3300. But Juarez wants to give her $1,000. $3300 to plaintiff. She deserves every penny. “Ex CATastrophe" Rerun, Season 9, Episode 44 p. 33, 16 November 2022 22 March “Airing Dirty Laundry” Rerun, Season 10, Episode 4 p. 42, 14 September 2023 “Five Grand Theft Auto" Rerun, Season 9, Episode 79 p. 40, 28 July 2023
  17. I anyone wants to see it, the Supersize edition of this episode is on tonight, 7 to 9 p.m. Central. It should have Bonus Scenes. I was surprised she turned it around, and embraced the process to change her life so dramatically. Going from virtually immobile to walking without a walker or cane was so touching. I'm hoping she keeps on her 'journey' and improves her life. I loved seeing James and Delana play pool, and go to the art installation at the end. I was so touched at the kindness of the fire fighters after she fell, and the mechanic shop giving them the rental van. I'm wondering if the tooth situation was chewing tobacco related? The daughter had similar teeth, and had a tin of chew in her back pocket. Also, when Sharon, the so-called mother, dropped by talking about how she couldn't drive to Houston, was she still sick with Covid? At first I thought she had after effects, but after seeing the Supersized edition, and hearing what Sharon said again, I think she still had it, and was around two people who didn't need to be exposed to it.
  18. The Supersize (who came up with that edition name at TLC?) is on tonight 7 to 9 p.m. Central. It was a good episode. I really thought she wasn't going to succeed, but you'll like how the story develops. It will be interesting to me to see what the Bonus Scenes are. And the kindness shown to the family was so touching, from the fire personnel, and the mechanics shop.
  19. 25 to 29 March (According to Titan TV) Monday-"Friendship Ruined Over a Loan" 9/12/2017, Season 21 / Episode 7 , Tuesday-“"Exes Battle Over Mortgage" 9/13/2017, Season 21 / Episode 8 Wednesday-"Battle Over a Band" 9/14/2017, Season 21 / Episode 9 , Thursday-"Rent Riot" 9/15/2017, Season 21 / Episode 10 Friday-"Getting steamed!" 9/18/2017, Season 21 / Episode 11
  20. What a great first episode. I really like Kristen, she is a great host. I like the elimination challenge, and the way they did the cookoff with the bottom three. Such a talented group of chefs this season. I wish they had left the show on Thursdays, but the way it is I can watch the last 15 minutes, and it's interesting to watch the first hour knowing who's getting sent home.
  21. The couple house hunting in Detroit are probably following a script for conflict, but they need separate houses. He wants a grand staircase, she's going to be hauling a baby up and down stairs constantly, and doesn't want stairs. However, I'm not a fan of the husband turning part of the basement into "Dave's Place", he should think about being around the wife and baby, not his dungeon in the basement. I wouldn't be surprised if the basement gets wet during snow melt. The Minneapolis-St. Paul rerun is interesting. I like the first one has a long, solid ramp to the porch. The fiance doesn't realize, and the boyfriend doesn't explain if turning the first house into a duplex requires separate electric and heat, it's a requirement in a lot of places. And maybe looking for Victorian or Tudor homes means that you won't get open concept, and a big kitchen with an island. I know it's all for the show, but it's not realistic. I love looking at different, older homes though.
  22. Seismique, an art gallery. How lovely to see her a month after surgery, and walking around the gallery. I'm so happy for her. Month 12-playing pool with James. Down another 24 lbs. However, that salad is way too much food, and she's eating it with drssing. That's scaring me. I hope she really does save the rest of the food for later.
  23. Down to 539 before surgery. I'm glad she came through the surgery so well. I hope she goes to therapy, she really needs to embrace therapy. However, as they've said before, therapy only works if you're willing to put in the work.
  24. Month 8 or 9 (I lost track), weight 578, so she lost 73 lbs. She's not using the cane or walker. She's making progress. Now I'm worried about her pre-surgery medical tests. Lose 40 lbs in a month, and she'll get surgery. BMI is still 103. She must be about 5'3". I'm proud of her.
  25. I watched a review on You Tube, the cookie was said to be good, but the pretzel and churo weren't as good. And the rumor is the tuna sub is really chicken, but that doesn't bother me at all. The foot long sub is really a foot long, but the bread is narrower. If you get a lot of veggies, but skip the condiments, and cheese, Subway can be a nutritious option.
