  1. Glad it wasn't just me - what the hell kind of ending was that???? I was sure there would be one more episode, but no - wow. What a disappointment.
  2. I see how people see it this way, they are apples and oranges. I guess I would respond better to someone saying "get rid of that ruffle" than "make it work" or "I'm puzzled". Sometimes I felt like the designers were also puzzled when he walked away with no direction on how to fix whatever was wrong. I did love Tim, but I respond better to Christian's style.
  3. I am glad Viktor won - I thought that coat was executed so delightfully! My favorite part might have been the little dinosaur spines down the back. Loved it, and props to him for picking something that really wasn't a fabric-like material at all and making it work! It wasn't super wearable, but none of this stuff is - it's art, not clothes! I call total bullshit on Mila going and Hester not even being in the bottom. They made some magnet strips! Did that bra top and micro mini even come from FAO? What was that stuff made out of? Big whoop. How were they not offed? I loathed them the first time, and clearly that won't change. I am resigning myself to them being here until the end. Blech...and I am not mad at Laurence for not giving a crap about this challenge and not crying or making a scene over it. I honestly thought hers was better than what Hester did too... I absolutely loved Britney's but I am glad she didn't win for the reason they cited - she did use muslin underneath, so kind of a cheat. But so darling, and bonus points for the styling. Definitely whimsical! I am torn by Prajje's look - it wasn't whimsical at all, and although well made, just a jumble of patterns to me. I am glad he didn't win. I did love the card dress and the one with the tracks on the top and skirt - was that Korto? I would have put that in the top over Kayne's evil queen.
  4. All of this! I cannot fathom why they make them repurpose a bunch of crap for a multi-million dollar home! Those lassos? Ridiculous! The only one that really worked for me was Anthony's blanket which is right in his wheelhouse anyway. And who cares about hot air balloon rides on a design show???? I have to say I am over all of the over the top additions in these houses - golf simulator rooms, bocce courts, speakeasy rooms, kegerators, saunas, giant wall displays of wine, a fireplace in a bathroom, AN ENTIRE SPA. For heaven's sake - please just make normal rooms!!!! Like seriously, I don't need a coffee bar in my bedroom - I'm not at the Courtyard Marriott! The double kitchens and double islands are so bougie and stupid. I do think the downstairs kitchens were useful, but a kitchen behind your (giant) kitchen? Or another island next to your (giant) island? So dumb. Best things to me were in different houses: Jon & Kristina's basement (minus the bunk beds) and bonus garage room, Anthony & Michel's master bedroom and pantry, Blond chick and baldy's fire pit. I hated pretty much everything about Page's house. I do think the right pair won - the stuff that is specific is pretty cosmetic, and the upgrades were almost all things that add value.
  5. I apologize since it is not on topic, but the clips of Michael made me miss him so much! I will never not laugh at "That crotch is insane!" I feel like Brandon is there to bring the snark, but it's not the same. And I do miss Heidi too. OG cast was the best! I appreciate Christian's style of critique a little more than Tim's because Christian is much more direct and often more collaborative than Tim. I feel like sometimes Tim would walk away and the designer was just as confused about how to fix the problem than with Christian who gets right to the point: "Why are you buying this fabric? Get out of this aisle!" I think being a designer vs. a teacher brings a different perspective, and Christian is much more willing to outright say how to fix something than Tim ever was.
  6. Loved Uli - she was a delight, as was that whole season!
  7. True, but Anya's aesthetic was basically caftans........I don't know how to sew and I think I could manage that too. She was a one way monkey that the judges gave a pass to every week......
  8. I thought Kayne totally deserved that win - it was gorgeous, well made and fit the assignment, something many did not even attempt to do - I'm talking about you Prajje and Kara - wtf did either of those garments have to do with their original looks? Zero! And why would Nora come on a show that is 50% a sewing competition and admit she hasn't sewn in 9 years? What? Why would you do that to yourself???? Her dress barely met the assignment and it was stylistically dated and horrifically sewn? What I wouldn't give for an old school Michael Kors bon mot about Viktor's look - holy hell that was....something...... I find her annoying, but I actually liked Anna's redo, and I thought Britney and Mila did a great job too. I can't decide if I liked Fabio's - it looked good on the model, but if he had any of the bustier models, her boobs would have been falling out the side. I love sweet Bishme, but I would have put that in the bottom. It did meet the challenge, but it was gaudy and unflattering on his model. No idea what they were on about. I would have had Laurence's look in the top - her pants and jacket were 1000 times more classy, cool and elegant than Bishme's.... Also really liked Korto and Rami's. Who else thought that interaction between Rami and Christian was awkward? I'm sure it's not the last! The sooner Hester leaves, the better. Seriously, in twenty seasons, THIS is who Nina wanted to see again? GAH! And she can take Elaine with her. Cannot stand her, and now she's in the car commercials I have to suffer through? Blech. I would have trouble accepting criticism from ye old serving wench, oh my mistake, Alicia Silverstone. Who did she piss off that put her boobs in that top? Those cups were working overtime to hoist those saggy bags!
  9. I did not watch this season, but I do follow the show on IG, and I saw the clip of Lyndsey going off on Steve. WTF??? Mark was absent so she had to go after someone else? She is unhinged. For me, one of the worst MAFS participants of all time, and that is saying something. I think Steve and Mindy are cute together, Mindy is definitely more mature than Noi, and both seem not too hung up on a regular 9 to 5 lifestyle, so perhaps a good fit? I kind of have a perverse glee when MAFS peeps get together in spite of the producers choices..... Shawniece and Jephte looked great.
  10. https://www.monstersandcritics.com/tv/reality-tv/mafs-fan-favorites-woody-and-amani-announce-second-child-on-the-way/ "We got a baby for our baby" - so cute. Love them and wish the show would try to find more like them....
  11. I guess I am alone here, but I am loving this show. I find it quite funny. Patricia Arquette is fantastic. Tonally and location-wise, it reminds me of Poker Face and Mrs. Davis, both of which I also loved, so maybe that's why it's working for me.
  12. It's a country Beh-Bay!!! But OMG I did not make that wizard the oz reference and that's hilarious! Between The Darkness tank/thong at the beginning and getting married in the crazy pants from the Beard After Hours episode he was spectacular this episode.
  13. Summed it up perfectly. I loved it. This show is a lovely gift. I will miss these characters so much, but what a sweet ending. Leslie summed the whole show up: Ask for help and try to be better, and that is what all of the main characters represent, including Ted.
  14. I feel like every episode has gotten better and funnier. I have watched through the candy bar episode (#6 out of 8), and I thought it and the carnival episodes were the best. I don't know if this show has the audience to get a second season, but it's a cute show. I think it was a mistake to make the uncles soooo dumb from the get go because we almost turned it off, but they seem slightly toned down as the season progresses. On another note, that was quite the "carnival" - pretty sure that's actually Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park California.....
  15. THIS! I get Ted forgiving Nate, but the team? No way. The horror over the poster and the aftermath of finding out what he did just makes that scene so false! And I hated the whole Keeley story line. I would have preferred for Rebecca to have funded the company from the get go, Roy and Keeley never broken up and no Jack at all. Keeley was so cool and strong the first two seasons and she was so weak and dumb this season, almost childish in some ways - what a horrible reversal for all she represented in season 1 & 2.
  16. I loved this episode! So much good here. Ted's Thank you/Fuck you speech to his mom - wow. I wish I had the courage to have the same with my parents - what a perfect moment to show how messy family is even when there is a loving relationship. How much we keep in just to keep the peace. And her response was just an arrow through the heart. No anger or offense, just "Your son misses you". Gutted. And then Beard, another wow. His speech to Nate was so much, yet had moments of perfect Beard humor - just like Les Mis, except I stole a loaf of Meth - Ha! I am frustrated by Nate's redemption arc, mostly because I would prefer him to just be an ass, but that's not this show. I would have even preferred for him to fail spectacularly and have Rupert embarrass him publicly and sack him. He deserved it. Then maybe I would be okay with some redemption. But he got everything he wanted on his terms and now just "Sorry"?????? No. I think the players seeking him out was a little too much - why exactly do they need him? They are winning without him using their current strategy. I was on the edge of my seat for Rebecca's truth bomb, but what an awesome flip! I am glad Ted is going back to his son. It's the right call for this character. Other things I enjoyed: Those Roy and Keeley posters! Keeley calling out Jamie's horrible hair! Van Damme's face mask! Mae's poem! Leslie's pose! The start of the fall of Rupert! And I if I was visiting, I would 100% want to meet Dani Rojas first too.
  17. Loved it! The Buffalo Wild Wings reveal was hilarious, as was Betty Gilpin's face at that moment. She was perfect casting for this. I watched this show mostly because I loved her as Liberty Bell in Glow, and I loved her equally here as Simone/Lizzy. More Betty Gilpin! My other favorite moment was Wiley and JQ with their pants down in the desert. How they got through that scene without laughing I would love to know. Hey Shohreh Aghdashloo - what you doin in that whale???? All of that religious stuff was so weird, maybe my least favorite part of this show, but I guess it helped explain Simone's journey of faith. Overall, I really liked this - so bizarre but most of the characters were great and in the end it (mostly) made sense to me. I am fine if this is it and there is no second season - it doesn't really need it. I like Wiley and Simone riding off into the sunset on the (still alive!) horse.
  18. Not only that, but the parting handshake diss between Sam and Francis ha ha ha!!! They are cartoon villains for sure! Speaking of villains......look, I know this show is a feel good experience, but I don't need Rupert or Nate redeemed. Sometimes people are just assholes - I don't care why they got that way and I wish they had just let them stay like that because that is how it is in real life. I know Rupert tried to kiss Rebecca, but it did seem like they were trying to make Rupert a tad more sympathetic here. Just no. The Devil indeed.... As for Nate, the apology to Will was sweet, and maybe the title of this show this season should have been changed to Nate Shelley instead of Ted Lasso. But I don't care. Also, I HATE what they did to Keeley this season. When this show first started, she was smart, funny, and also a Boss Ass Bitch. This season she seems timid, weak and dumb. I don't like it. This whole season with Nate and Keeley seemed like a waste of time - both are ending up kind of where they started, maybe a little wiser, but still. I am glad she is back with Roy, but I wish they had never broken up in the first place, just like I wish Nate had evolved slowly and with some self doubt into the Wonder Kid without his walk to the dark side.... My favorite thing this episode was once again the boys in the locker room. Mean Dani, "Of course I'm Swiss - look at me", Jamie checking on Sam, Van Damme - his confusion on the plane when Dani crushed his Doritos was hilarious. I love all the locker room scenes and moments with the players. That is when this show shines. It's sad that Ted is now a side character on his own show.
  19. Finally finished this and came here to just say I am so peeved that Luke won. It should have been Clement! I think his cake would have won had he not put so many freaking branches on that cake - maybe less is more approach? If he had put just a few delicate branches it would have looked less chaotic and then he wouldn't have needed so many flowers and he could have taken the time to put "white dots" in the middle. Gah! Kind of stunning that not one baker made a cake that wasn't slightly crooked. It's hard to be happy for Luke when the first two thirds of the finale he was so underwhelming. He barely beat Molly, and he was dead last in the preheat. Even just taking that into consideration from this episode alone, he shouldn't have won. His decorations were very basic compared to what Christian or Clement produced. Clement was robbed.
  20. I thought this was a great season! I liked the little montage of all the ghost moments. My favorite this season has to be the Hetty/Trevor hookup, break up and down low affair again. I am glad they wrapped up this fake heir plot quickly. I felt like it went on too long on the British version. I do think Alberta is the most obvious choice for being sucked off just based on plot, but I hope it's someone more minor like Stephanie or a basement ghost, although I like Stephanie in small doses, and I hope Nancy stays forever. I really hope it's not Nigel because I love his persnickety personality and subtle feud with Hetty. He and Isaac deserve more time to develop their relationship.
  21. Well, I think all bets are off in sports, especially golf - my husband said he was never as frustrated playing any sport the way he was with golf! ;-p
  22. Yeah, and I do watch Ted Lasso and honestly Roy Kent's entire dialogue many times is just "Fuck". And that doesn't bother me because it fits the scrappy crabby footballer who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. But these bougie middle age people? I don't buy it. It doesn't enhance the show or the dialogue for them all to talk like that, in fact, it was a big distraction for me.
  23. Finished it, but I'm torn. There are a lot of funny moments and heart warming moments. All of the characters have scenes where I like them, and then scenes where I don't. Overall, it was good, but...... Most of the shows I watch are TV-MA, so it's not like I am clutching my pearls over here, but I am in that minority that just found the constant f-bombs and crude remarks too much. They all talk like I would expect Alice's teen friends to speak, not middle aged professionals. I just don't like that much casual profanity for no reason, and it's so constant on this show that I find it distracting and unpleasant. Derek is my favorite. Every moment he was on screen was delightful. Was just waiting for the patient to push her bf over the cliff - you just knew it was going to happen..... Glad someone finally explained to Paul what "raw dog" means, although I think that joke could have gone on longer if they wanted as I will never not laugh at Harrison Ford saying that phrase inappropriately to Liz....
  24. This! Totally sums up my problem - everything in this world seems completely normal other than being able to talk to this omniscient sentient siri/alexa/whatever-you-call-it. So what? And I'm not talking about Simone's quest or the weirdness with "Jay".......most people are just working and doing normal stuff, it's not exactly a new world order.....the characters we know are weird just because they are, not because of Mrs. Davis. Well, maybe the australian shirtless guy who lost his poker career after Mrs. Davis or whatever, but everyone else.....
  25. Totally agree. The show has done a terrible job explaining why Mrs. Davis is so bad. Okay, so Simone and Wiley hate her, but nobody else seems to - what is the problem? Unless I missed something critical, it doesn't seem like Mrs. Davis overtly controls anyone - everyone is going about their lives like normal for the most part. Even Simone has not said why she hates her, just that she does. I hope this show can stick the landing because it seems like kind of mess right now and I've been burned by Damon Lindelof before.......
