  1. She was like that in Mandalorian, but her part was so minor there and I was excited to see her, so it didn't bother me. But carrying her own show? It's rough. It's doubly frustrating when I see clips of Rosario Dawson on social media talking about the show, and she's smiling and very animated. It's like they put the costume on her and she loses half her natural energy. I have also seen posts with Ashley Eckstein in a cos-play version of Ahsoka, and it just really makes me think it was a mistake to not cast her in the live action show. She is Ahsoka to me.
  2. What a relief that Tyra is gone! Julianne was a little extra, but I like that both represent the Stars and the Pros. Total upgrade! My favorite was Jason. I don't know half of these people, but that's not abnormal with this show. Overall, nobody stood out as a ringer, which is good - I am glad there's nobody like Charlie this time. I am kind of over the Bachelorettes even though I liked Gabby, but she was different because she gave off kooky vibes instead of just pretty pretty princess. Neither bottom two deserved to be there. The football player, Tyson, Alyson and the good looking reality guy were all worse IMO. I wish they hadn't eliminated anyone on night one - it seems so mean. I enjoyed seeing the prior contestants in the audience - hi there Daniel and Joseph!
  3. I know lots of "dudes" who liked Willow - saw it in the theater in a mixed group when it came out and my husband who is a couple years older than me loved it too. Val Kilmer was huge in the late eighties after Top Gun so that was the guy draw. I could totally see a young dumb guy that age thinking Elora Danon is a cool name for a baby girl. The problem is more that Elora is what - 18-ish? That movie came out almost twenty years before she was born - so that is more a problem. If he was in his early twenties when Elora was born, that movie would have come out when he was a young kid. I love Ethan Hawke - reality bites is such a defining movie of my college years. I liked that he wasn't bad or good - he's an ok guy who has made bad choices and has regrets. Like a lot of people. And I like that Elora wasn't mad or mean but it was hard to hear her say "all I need from you fits on that piece of paper". I am glad she went and met the kids. She is all alone in many ways and having some family is good for her.
  4. I feel like I am watching something different than everyone else with this show - I find the whole thing so boring! Everyone talks so monotone - even the long awaited Thrawn. Ahsoka has had a personality lobotomy compared to the animation version of her. I don't care that she's old, traumatized or whatever - listening to her talk is the equivalent of watching paint dry. The robot has more personality. But at least she has spent most of this series playing second fiddle to the worst padawan in the history of Star Wars - speaking of...... Sabine is horrible - she betrayed Ahsoka TWICE, and really Ezra too by making his sacrifice and banishment useless. I can't stand her. She has shown zero proof of being force sensitive. I hope Shin Hati kicks her ass again. I did like the wolf thing and the night sisters. And please let Wes Chatham take that mask off - I love me some Amos!!!! I appreciate this forum for providing a place to vent - Most things I don't like I have no problem just quitting, but I have to finish this because it's almost over and I generally love all things Star Wars. That being said, this is hands down my least favorite of all of the D+ shows. I can forgive almost anything with Star Wars, but boring me is making that hard to do!
  5. I think I might have to do that too - I loathe all of the cutaways to the designers, and now they've doubled down to include commentary from the judges. It adds nothing and distracts from the actual show. It added a level of suspense when we didn't know who was top or bottom before the show ended. Now it's obvious.
  6. Add me to the people who thought they telegraphed Bishme winning all season. This was one of the worst finales for me. All three basically made greatest hits looks of everything they made all season. Boring. I did like Britney's black and white pants, Bishme's shiny red gingham outfit and Laurence's final red dress. The rest - zzzzz.......this show feels more and more like it is drifting towards the Lifetime seasons. Having Zac there was a breath of fresh (old) air - I didn't miss Brandon, and would love Zac to come back. And please God, send Elaine packing!!!!!
  7. I truly hope that you are right - maybe "Snips" seeing Anakin is going to shake her out of this funk? I still think it's a waste of time for her to train Sabine as a Jedi. I think it would be better for her to take her to Din Djarin for training as she seems more comfortable fighting like a Mandalorian, but whatever. The plot here is not complicated, but I am just not invested in these Rebels characters because I haven't seen that show. They are not as well known as Boba Fett or Obi Wan, and everyone was starting from scratch with Mandalorian so that felt like something new. I was excited about Ahsoka because I have seen Clone Wars, but this feels like a completely different character to me interacting with a bunch of strangers.
  8. This!!!!! 100%%%%!!!!! I don't see any of her in the characterization in this show! I don't know if that is the choice of Dave Filoni or Rosario Dawson or both but it isn't working. I just don't understand why she is training a "padawan" when she has said over and over that she isn't a jedi anymore. I think the assumption here is that you know what happened in Rebels as this show is a continuation of that one to some extent. But for new viewers, it just isn't that compelling when you don't really know Ezra or Thrawn......
  9. This gif of cartoon version Ahsoka shows more personality in .5 seconds than live action Rosario Dawson has showed in four episodes......
  10. Yeah, I can't speak to how she was on Rebels, but I have seen comments like "well, she's not a teenager, she has experienced so much trauma it's changed her, blah blah blah"........I don't think people's inherent personality changes that much - it's like she's a completely different person. And It's not just becoming stoic as an adult - she is emotionless! Both Huyang and Chopper have more personality. And this is the third show where the title character has been pushed aside for a secondary character. It's like a bait and switch: Boba Fett was sidelined in his own show in exchange for Din Djarin, who was then sidelined in his show because now Bo Katan is "The Mandalorian"; now Ahsoka feels like a secondary character compared to Sabine. I'm getting tired of it.
  11. Yeah this almost seems like a different show now. I miss them sleuthing together which we did get a little this episode, but it feels like the mystery has become second or third after the play and their love lives, and the apartment building is not really in this at all as the theater seems more important to the investigation. Charles taking the fish to the theater was completely stupid. I think Mabel taking Cinda's offer is the smartest thing she could do - although totally mean spirited, Oliver wasn't wrong about Mabel.
  12. To each their own. This season isn't resonating with me as much as the other seasons, despite a couple standout episodes. This is me though. I am glad everyone else is enjoying it. I did love this episode with Cookie. It was heartbreaking when they were in the car and she was talking about being 20 forever and her frustration at the Aunties not being there for Elora. "Was it hard?" I hope they continue to keep watch over the kids.
  13. Is it outside the tribe though? His own friends laughed at him and didn't believe what he was telling them. This episode deals with their own guilt for abandoning him. Taking the "lessons" out of it, I do think this season has been as much about Maximus as it has about Bear, Elora, Willie Jack and Cheese. Even the episodes that focused primarily on Bear and now Cheese were about him. Maybe that's significant since those are the two singled out as "outsiders", but with so few episodes left, I would just rather see the kids, that's all.
  14. I feel the same. This season has been.....different. Suddenly Maximus is the focus of the show? It just isn't resonating with me like with the kids. Hopefully we get more with them before this ends.
  15. Bummer! I love Rami and his relationship with Christian. I really wish he was in and Britney was out. I swear, I feel like puffer coats should be banned on this show. There is no "fashion" left to be mined from that. If I can buy a version every single year from Old Navy for $20, it's not fashion. Everyone needs to move on. Another thing that can be banned - the avant garde challenge. Nobody knows what the hell that means, including the judges. Just stop. Now that Rami is out, I don't care who wins. And please, can Elaine just go? She is the worst.
  16. I cannot believe I am saying this, but.......I am completely bored by this show. Even more than BOBF before Din Djarin appeared. My issues: 1. Ahsoka, specifically Rosario Dawson's version. She is so wooden. Her dialogue is so flat all the time. For one of the most emotional jedi ever, it's beyond frustrating. When the droid(s) have more personality than her, it's a problem. 2. Exactly why does Sabine need to become a "Jedi"???? She is Mandalorian, no? Ahsoka does not consider herself "Jedi" anymore - what is up with calling her padawan and trying to train a non-force sensitive person to wield the force? Maybe Sabine can just be a badass fighter without the force, like for instance, oh I don't know, a Mandalorian? Ahsoka knows Din Djarin who is pretty badass without using the force - maybe send her to one of her own kind for training? Oh wait, that's a different show....... 3. The only Star Wars show/movie I am completely unfamiliar with is Rebels, and I feel like this show really requires knowledge of that show. I just don't care about any of these characters other than Ahsoka, and unfortunately, so far, she's the least interesting character here...... 4. The bad guys are becoming a weird version of Star Wars generic - some not very scary baddies with an agenda chasing our hero(s) around the galaxy. I really don't care what these guys are looking for at this point. Maybe that has something to do with problem #3 for me......
  17. I totally get that, but I think the show has done a good job up to this point of incorporating all of the generations into the story at large - I don't think it was necessary to have a flashback episode that focuses exclusively on a whole different cast.
  18. I didn't really care for this episode - I felt like I was watching a completely different show, and it was literally Dazed and Confused, right down to the title - I was just waiting for Mathew McConaughey to show up and say "Alright Alright Alright!" I did recognize Brownie, Bucky and Mabel, but the rest I had to google. I didn't catch that Maximus was the guy that Bear stayed with when he was lost. The actor playing Brownie was spot on. Still, probably my least favorite episode - it just makes me sad that we have so few episodes left and I would rather focus on the current Res Dogs than a one off about two generations ago......
  19. I laughed out loud when Gizmo opened the door and fried him again! And that it worked out because now he can properly terrorize the neighbors when he walks the hellhound! I always enjoy seeing The Baron, The Sire and the Hellhound out in the burbs, and now apparently those mutants (They don't all make it. Flush). If they ever want to do a spin off this is ready to go.......
  20. I myself am an avid lover of Grogru, Mando and Pedro Pascal just generally. Andor was fantastic, star wars or no. I usually love all Star Wars stuff, but I feel like this is starting to feel.....not special? I don't know - much like the Marvel overkill with movies and tv shows, I think Star Wars is nearing saturation too. I will keep watching and hope I get drawn in.
  21. I think I may be in the minority, but this is the first of these D+ shows that I was completely bored out of my mind by the end of episode one. I have seen all of the movies, all of the D+ shows, plus I am on the last season of Clone Wars, so I do know Ahsoka. The one SW show I have never watched is Rebels. I do follow enough online to know who all of the characters are and what happened to them, but only basic backstory. And maybe that is contributing to my apathy for this one, which makes me sad because I love Star Wars and Ahsoka is probably my favorite Jedi. I just cannot get used to Rosario Dawson's voice coming out of Ahsoka's body. She sounds so blah to me compared to the cartoon voice actor. I will keep watching (didn't get to episode two yet) and hope that it gets more interesting. Sabine getting stabbed in the stomach isn't it though because of course she will survive that.
  22. Not sure it's going to be a happy ending for the residents of the retirement home when that one that makes atomic poops decides he needs to go again......
  23. I love Bishme, but that was.....not my favorite. Hated the color, hated the bottom - it reminded me of a car wash for some reason, and the hat with the flowing fabric attached? So weird, and that fact that Elaine loved it just confirms to me that it was dumb. Wedding dress? Wft???? I would have switched Praje and Laurence - I thought Praje's was pretty and don't see what makes it seem dated compared to anyone else's. Complaining about Britney "stealing" his top was nonsense. He didn't create that silhouette. Korto is a catty bitch. I used to love her, but she is definitely different this time around. Mean girl vibe. Snarking on Britney with Praje and then complaining because she was safe? I am sure Praje or Kara Saun would love to switch places with you sweetie. She can go any time as far as I'm concerned. No idea why the judges loved what Laurence made - I thought the purple/black combo was more dated than Praje's and the crotch on that was horrible. It would have looked even worse on a plus size model - the gap between the bottom of the jacket and low waist on the bottom would have left an unattractive pooch in between - I know from personal experience with some tankinis I have tried ;-p I was really hoping Rami would win - a beautiful dress that is well made and looks amazing on the model. Sigh. The less said about Kara Saun's the better. I've enjoyed having an OG on the show, but that was atrocious. She just couldn't seem to understand that she is on a fashion design competition, not a costume design one. Still, I'll miss her. And I find it interesting that left to their own choice, only one designer picked a model that was larger. And she went home. I don't think a different model would have made a difference there, but for all the show loves to toot their horn on "real size models" or whatever they call them, the designers still all picked skinny models when given a choice.
  24. I think this show has shown a mix - Teenie left, and in this episode, Willie Jack's dad spoke to Elora about going to the community college in Ohern, so there are some opportunities for education and getting out. Obviously, Bear's dad also left, but I wouldn't exactly say he's thriving.
  25. Not just Gut Milk - Gut Milk Zero! I like coming here and hearing all of the theories - It never occurred to me about Ben talking to cookies. I don't really watch this show to try to figure it out. I just like the three of them. I miss the three of them working together on the podcast. Loved the monologue about the gal from Duluth and the ear worm from a musical. Mean but true. The song was great, and Meryl Streep actually sounded good. I saw Mama Mia when it came out and thought her singing was pretty mediocre.
