  1. I love Bishme, but that was.....not my favorite. Hated the color, hated the bottom - it reminded me of a car wash for some reason, and the hat with the flowing fabric attached? So weird, and that fact that Elaine loved it just confirms to me that it was dumb. Wedding dress? Wft???? I would have switched Praje and Laurence - I thought Praje's was pretty and don't see what makes it seem dated compared to anyone else's. Complaining about Britney "stealing" his top was nonsense. He didn't create that silhouette. Korto is a catty bitch. I used to love her, but she is definitely different this time around. Mean girl vibe. Snarking on Britney with Praje and then complaining because she was safe? I am sure Praje or Kara Saun would love to switch places with you sweetie. She can go any time as far as I'm concerned. No idea why the judges loved what Laurence made - I thought the purple/black combo was more dated than Praje's and the crotch on that was horrible. It would have looked even worse on a plus size model - the gap between the bottom of the jacket and low waist on the bottom would have left an unattractive pooch in between - I know from personal experience with some tankinis I have tried ;-p I was really hoping Rami would win - a beautiful dress that is well made and looks amazing on the model. Sigh. The less said about Kara Saun's the better. I've enjoyed having an OG on the show, but that was atrocious. She just couldn't seem to understand that she is on a fashion design competition, not a costume design one. Still, I'll miss her. And I find it interesting that left to their own choice, only one designer picked a model that was larger. And she went home. I don't think a different model would have made a difference there, but for all the show loves to toot their horn on "real size models" or whatever they call them, the designers still all picked skinny models when given a choice.
  2. I think this show has shown a mix - Teenie left, and in this episode, Willie Jack's dad spoke to Elora about going to the community college in Ohern, so there are some opportunities for education and getting out. Obviously, Bear's dad also left, but I wouldn't exactly say he's thriving.
  3. Not just Gut Milk - Gut Milk Zero! I like coming here and hearing all of the theories - It never occurred to me about Ben talking to cookies. I don't really watch this show to try to figure it out. I just like the three of them. I miss the three of them working together on the podcast. Loved the monologue about the gal from Duluth and the ear worm from a musical. Mean but true. The song was great, and Meryl Streep actually sounded good. I saw Mama Mia when it came out and thought her singing was pretty mediocre.
  4. The gum was hilarious - my favorite part was them cracking up. I love Bev in every scene she is in. That's "Probably Cause" to you! More Bev awesomeness. I liked Rita totally not buying it until they started hitting each other and then she was like "oh shit". Not sure how I feel about them being together. I don't really feel like this show needs a romantic plot with the kids. I would rather just see them all as friends.
  5. There is also a great show on Amazon Prime called Three Pines starring Alfred Molina that has a very sad plot revolving around the Residential Schools. It has been cancelled but it's still worth watching. Very heartbreaking and horrifying that this was happening here. I never knew it until this year. I loved this Deer Lady episode. The whole thing had a horror movie vibe with the kids and the scary gibberish backwards speaking nuns. They did a good job conveying the nightmare these poor kids were in. "Are you a good man Bear?" "I try to be". I almost cried when she told Bear that he didn't need to worry about turning into his dad, that his mom had ensured that wouldn't happen, and I won't spoil it, but the actual ending did make me teary. This show. Teaching me, making me laugh, making me cry. What a gift.
  6. I was so emotional after seeing the interaction between Rami and Christian - it was the moment I needed between them. It has been fascinating to watch them together - Christian was just the prodigy punk and Rami was the successful older statesman on their season, and Christian being the breakout star of the whole show and now "mentoring" Rami is so weird, but I loved their sweet interaction, and the respect between them. When this season is over, it's probably the thing I will remember the most. Total bullshit on Anna being in the top. That was a mess - again, where was Michael Kors with a crotch quip?????? If you can see the model's entire crotch the garment is a fail. But maybe when you have Julia Fox as your guest judge, that's what you get. Seriously, how is this girl qualified to judge these people? Most of the time she looks like hot garbage. If Next In Fashion on Netflix can get big name designers and models as judges, why can't the OG Project Runway line up better judges???? I am in the minority, but i actually like Laurence's gown. The back was gorgeous, and I didn't even mind the cone boobs - they looked weirdly edgy on a dress that was not conventional anyway. My overall favorite was Britney's, but I too am over the damn puffers. Is that really hot in fashion? I don't know anyone wearing giant puffer coats, but maybe I am ignorant because I live in California and there is no real winter here. I also loved Bishme's coat, but it deserved a cooler outfit underneath - that dress was just as dated as Rami's, he just had the luck to have Mimi as a model. I just watched this, and I cannot for the life of me recall what Kara Saun made. At all. I wish Elaine would have been the one to disappear instead of Nina. Her taste is questionable and she plays favorites. I cannot stand her.
  7. I totally agree with you on everything! I thought the winning house was the worst! That second bedroom was ridiculous! and I thought the quality of the finishes were also the worst. I don't care about the hand made stone in the master bath - it looks messy. I hated the blotchy paint everywhere, the mirrors in the living room, the overly tall ledge, the giant patio with almost nothing on it. I thought the boys added the most value with their $5,000 - they basically have a full outdoor kitchen now, plus the screened in porch, but overall I think changing the layout inside was a terrible idea. The little table in the dead space corner is ridiculous, plus by changing it, zero rooms actually face the beach! And I'm with the judge - I hated the green cabinets. They did not grow on me. I still think the young couple's was the best. I don't love the black tile in the kitchen at all for a beach house, but at least it looks modern and well done. They have the most beds and their bathrooms look well done. They had the second best patio at the end (after the boys upgrades) and the best beach room. They were robbed!
  8. I am aware that they have to do it that way in Australia, but I think it's the right thing to do in the US regardless even if it is "legal" because it's a shitty thing to make someone get legally married when they make no effort to actually make good matches. It's hard to believe any of these people come into this looking for a life partner from the "experiment". Caveat Emptor! If anyone thinks there is a chance in hell that they are being matched in good faith after this many seasons, they are either willfully naive or stupid.
  9. THIS. At this point, nobody will ever convince me that the experts reality tv stars pick the couples. I 100% believe the producers are the ones who pick, and they could not give a shit if the couples are compatible; on the contrary, I believe they are deliberately mismatching to make the show more interesting. And that would be fine if it was like the Australian version where they are not actually "legally married", but it's total bullshit that the American version still loves the veneer of this being anything but a trashy reality show and the fact they make these people actually get married is kind of disgusting.
  10. I have put off watching this because I thought the second season was not great, but holy hell, I concur that they have all gotten so ridiculously stupid I just don't think I'm even going to finish this. Mom and the head key to just relive guilt over her alcoholism. What a waste of time. Apparently they are out of plot for her now that she knows what is going on and is moving towards a happy ending with whats his name. Kinsey - I too kept waiting for Eden to wake up and attack them and quite frankly, I was hoping she would. She is/was a demon, both literally and honestly also as a human being. I call bullshit on them being all sad about her - nobody liked her! Leave her be in the magic well, dumbasses. Bode - WHAT. This take the cake. I would be fine if Dodge kills him. I almost couldn't finish this episode because I was so annoyed at how stupid this kid is. He has seen too much and is way too old to be this moronic. Tyler - always the most level headed but now he also seems dumb because he doesn't know what's going on. Also, I am completely distracted because I don't remember him graduating from high school. It seems like he should still be there. Whatever. This show is terrible.
  11. I am finally caught up and had to come here to vent: holy crap, these houses are all so fugly! I wouldn't want any of them! Bald Rock the block judge wasn't wrong - I hate the black tile in the kitchen and the living room looks like a doctor's office - this isn't an urban loft, it's a beach house! I hate that the guys moved their kitchen to right inside the door - what purpose did that serve other than stroking Alison's ego? And the quality of work in Ty's team's house is atrocious. The bathroom pretty much needs to be gutted and redone - it's barely usable, and the Willy Wonka beds - can't unsee it now, so thank you for that @Feline Goddess! I feel like overall, despite the black, the young couple have added the most value. Their house at least looks well done and has the most bedrooms and bathrooms, so to me, that is the most value added. I hope they win.
  12. Glad it wasn't just me - what the hell kind of ending was that???? I was sure there would be one more episode, but no - wow. What a disappointment.
  13. I see how people see it this way, they are apples and oranges. I guess I would respond better to someone saying "get rid of that ruffle" than "make it work" or "I'm puzzled". Sometimes I felt like the designers were also puzzled when he walked away with no direction on how to fix whatever was wrong. I did love Tim, but I respond better to Christian's style.
  14. I am glad Viktor won - I thought that coat was executed so delightfully! My favorite part might have been the little dinosaur spines down the back. Loved it, and props to him for picking something that really wasn't a fabric-like material at all and making it work! It wasn't super wearable, but none of this stuff is - it's art, not clothes! I call total bullshit on Mila going and Hester not even being in the bottom. They made some magnet strips! Did that bra top and micro mini even come from FAO? What was that stuff made out of? Big whoop. How were they not offed? I loathed them the first time, and clearly that won't change. I am resigning myself to them being here until the end. Blech...and I am not mad at Laurence for not giving a crap about this challenge and not crying or making a scene over it. I honestly thought hers was better than what Hester did too... I absolutely loved Britney's but I am glad she didn't win for the reason they cited - she did use muslin underneath, so kind of a cheat. But so darling, and bonus points for the styling. Definitely whimsical! I am torn by Prajje's look - it wasn't whimsical at all, and although well made, just a jumble of patterns to me. I am glad he didn't win. I did love the card dress and the one with the tracks on the top and skirt - was that Korto? I would have put that in the top over Kayne's evil queen.
  15. All of this! I cannot fathom why they make them repurpose a bunch of crap for a multi-million dollar home! Those lassos? Ridiculous! The only one that really worked for me was Anthony's blanket which is right in his wheelhouse anyway. And who cares about hot air balloon rides on a design show???? I have to say I am over all of the over the top additions in these houses - golf simulator rooms, bocce courts, speakeasy rooms, kegerators, saunas, giant wall displays of wine, a fireplace in a bathroom, AN ENTIRE SPA. For heaven's sake - please just make normal rooms!!!! Like seriously, I don't need a coffee bar in my bedroom - I'm not at the Courtyard Marriott! The double kitchens and double islands are so bougie and stupid. I do think the downstairs kitchens were useful, but a kitchen behind your (giant) kitchen? Or another island next to your (giant) island? So dumb. Best things to me were in different houses: Jon & Kristina's basement (minus the bunk beds) and bonus garage room, Anthony & Michel's master bedroom and pantry, Blond chick and baldy's fire pit. I hated pretty much everything about Page's house. I do think the right pair won - the stuff that is specific is pretty cosmetic, and the upgrades were almost all things that add value.
  16. I apologize since it is not on topic, but the clips of Michael made me miss him so much! I will never not laugh at "That crotch is insane!" I feel like Brandon is there to bring the snark, but it's not the same. And I do miss Heidi too. OG cast was the best! I appreciate Christian's style of critique a little more than Tim's because Christian is much more direct and often more collaborative than Tim. I feel like sometimes Tim would walk away and the designer was just as confused about how to fix the problem than with Christian who gets right to the point: "Why are you buying this fabric? Get out of this aisle!" I think being a designer vs. a teacher brings a different perspective, and Christian is much more willing to outright say how to fix something than Tim ever was.
  17. Loved Uli - she was a delight, as was that whole season!
  18. True, but Anya's aesthetic was basically caftans........I don't know how to sew and I think I could manage that too. She was a one way monkey that the judges gave a pass to every week......
  19. I thought Kayne totally deserved that win - it was gorgeous, well made and fit the assignment, something many did not even attempt to do - I'm talking about you Prajje and Kara - wtf did either of those garments have to do with their original looks? Zero! And why would Nora come on a show that is 50% a sewing competition and admit she hasn't sewn in 9 years? What? Why would you do that to yourself???? Her dress barely met the assignment and it was stylistically dated and horrifically sewn? What I wouldn't give for an old school Michael Kors bon mot about Viktor's look - holy hell that was....something...... I find her annoying, but I actually liked Anna's redo, and I thought Britney and Mila did a great job too. I can't decide if I liked Fabio's - it looked good on the model, but if he had any of the bustier models, her boobs would have been falling out the side. I love sweet Bishme, but I would have put that in the bottom. It did meet the challenge, but it was gaudy and unflattering on his model. No idea what they were on about. I would have had Laurence's look in the top - her pants and jacket were 1000 times more classy, cool and elegant than Bishme's.... Also really liked Korto and Rami's. Who else thought that interaction between Rami and Christian was awkward? I'm sure it's not the last! The sooner Hester leaves, the better. Seriously, in twenty seasons, THIS is who Nina wanted to see again? GAH! And she can take Elaine with her. Cannot stand her, and now she's in the car commercials I have to suffer through? Blech. I would have trouble accepting criticism from ye old serving wench, oh my mistake, Alicia Silverstone. Who did she piss off that put her boobs in that top? Those cups were working overtime to hoist those saggy bags!
  20. I did not watch this season, but I do follow the show on IG, and I saw the clip of Lyndsey going off on Steve. WTF??? Mark was absent so she had to go after someone else? She is unhinged. For me, one of the worst MAFS participants of all time, and that is saying something. I think Steve and Mindy are cute together, Mindy is definitely more mature than Noi, and both seem not too hung up on a regular 9 to 5 lifestyle, so perhaps a good fit? I kind of have a perverse glee when MAFS peeps get together in spite of the producers choices..... Shawniece and Jephte looked great.
  21. https://www.monstersandcritics.com/tv/reality-tv/mafs-fan-favorites-woody-and-amani-announce-second-child-on-the-way/ "We got a baby for our baby" - so cute. Love them and wish the show would try to find more like them....
  22. I guess I am alone here, but I am loving this show. I find it quite funny. Patricia Arquette is fantastic. Tonally and location-wise, it reminds me of Poker Face and Mrs. Davis, both of which I also loved, so maybe that's why it's working for me.
  23. It's a country Beh-Bay!!! But OMG I did not make that wizard the oz reference and that's hilarious! Between The Darkness tank/thong at the beginning and getting married in the crazy pants from the Beard After Hours episode he was spectacular this episode.
  24. Summed it up perfectly. I loved it. This show is a lovely gift. I will miss these characters so much, but what a sweet ending. Leslie summed the whole show up: Ask for help and try to be better, and that is what all of the main characters represent, including Ted.
