  1. I watched this episode last night and I couldn't sleep because I couldn't stop thinking about it. I used the word chilling about last week's episode, but this one doubled down. This show is really pulling back the curtain on why the Empire is EVIL with a capital E. The complete control on every level is nightmarish. Even Mon Mothma's conversation with Tay was real world scary - it's her money but she can't access it because even that is being monitored and she can't even speak about it out loud in her own home! The euthanasia of poor Ulaf was horrifying on a level Star Wars has never reached, and knowing the doctor was just as helpless there as Cassian or Kino made it even more bleak. The realization no one is leaving that prison. The blithe torturing and murder of people on Ferrix with the knowledge that Cassian's mom is probably next. It was all so awful, and not a Vader or Palpatine or Dooku in sight. Scary stuff.
  2. Perhaps the finale could be open to a public vote and they could do a two night extravaganza like the old days. Honestly, I don't know why they can't bring back the results show like they used to have, especially now that it airs on D+ - it's not like the results show is taking a prime time slot since it's on demand.
  3. Perhaps the way to fix this is to just have the live audience in the studio vote, much like Masked Singer, and continue to let the judges pick who actually goes home.
  4. I totally agree. It pains me to say it, but I do think Heidi is a better overall dancer than Jordin, but she seems absolutely joyless, and Jordin is the exact opposite. But I've thought all season Jordin would be better with a different pro. Bummed that it came to this since the obvious worst didn't even make it into the bottom two...... The only thing that makes me not furious about Vinny is that if it does turn into a Bobby Bones situation, how funny would it be to have him beat their golden girl Charli? My favorites were Trevor and Shangela. I cannot believe how much better Trevor has gotten over the last few weeks! Was it perfect, no, but the music, costumes and choreography were great, and he was good enough to sell all of it. Loved it. Same with Shangela. That last lift and head twist was awesome. Maybe Gleb should always dance with drag queens. It's his best work on this show ever. I am still rooting for Wayne, but that was not great. It looked more like a freestyle than contemporary. I like Alan more than Val, and I think Gabby did great with him. I liked Daniel's Paso too, but I fear he's next on the chopping block if Vinny escapes the bottom again.......
  5. I agree with everyone saying they still don't know the names of these couples! As of this episode, I know Mattie and Linton, Glenda and Lumumba, "the brothers" and "the sisters". I don't actually know their names. Then there's "The couple in red" who won the last two legs, "that other couple", and "Claire and her partner" . This is how I think of all of them. The people eliminated with Covid was also "that other couple". That's pretty bad. I just think there's nothing particularly unique or interesting about any of these nameless people, so they all blend together. They are dating or married or something. It's just a sea of blandness. I was seriously stressed at how long the military brother (whose name I still don't know!) was taking to build that cart. They showed up second and left in fifth place! And then carried the cart the whole way to Phil! I would think with the care he put into building it, the thing would at least have been sturdy enough to roll. They are my favorites, along with the sisters and the four whose names I actually know ;-p I was disappointed to see another dancing challenge this episode. This is the second one this season, and with the yodeling and bells it feels very musical challenge heavy.
  6. I finished it, but if there is a second season, I won't be watching. I am frustrated at the surprise at the end with Dr. Stanton. I had to go online and figure out what it meant. I guess I should have been paying better attention. Both my husband and I went "huh? what's happening?" and then it was just over! No answers about the time warp hallway or creepers and shadow people. I guess we're just supposed to assume it has something to do with the weird energy in the house? I was way more invested when it was the scenes with the kids, but lost interest every time they launched into their club stories. Like, I really didn't care. Only one I found gripping was the one Natsuki told with the road to nowhere. Ilonka kept saying how smart she was, but man, she was pretty annoying at how gullible she ended up being. Stanton should have kicked her out after that first ceremony! I was actually happy when she defied Stanton yet again and told everyone about someone going home and was wrong about who it was. Awkward! I did like how conflicted Sandra was when she found out she was leaving. I am guessing that's going to be some massive survivors guilt she will have to deal with. I'm glad she and Spencer became friends. The only "flanaverse" netflix show I haven't watched is Midnight Mass. I would put this one par with Bly Manor. Ok, but not great. I like that these are horror light because I don't really like horror, but I wish they were all as good as Hill House. Oh well. I will watch definitely be watching Fall of the House of Usher.
  7. I feel the same - I don't know why the moth was necessary - Eliza has shown herself to be resourceful enough to have discovered the secret passage without the moth leading her there. The whole mother in law plot made little sense, but cutting this fantastical denouement would have made it slightly more realistic. I did love the photo of the dead woman with the pyramid and her pipe.
  8. @gingerandcloves - this is why I stop watching about 2 episodes past the honeymoons the last few seasons. The show is really not interested in making any good matches anymore, and there are about 10 too many episodes to each season. I'm disappointed, but not surprised about this group. Overall, mostly decent people, just horribly mismatched.
  9. Roger Roger! Chilling is the word that comes to mind. The humming of that floor would give me nightmares. I cannot wait to see what happens with him! Kyle Soller plays petulant sad sack so well! I loved that exchange. Dedra is so awesome - I love that she has read him right and is putting that weasel in his place. But still, it will be fun finding out what said weasel manages to do from this point! I cannot say how much I love this show - everything and every character is working for me. I wasn't that excited before it started knowing how Rogue One ends, but it sucked me in completely. Diego Luna is fantastic. He barely spoke this episode, yet is body language and facial expressions said everything. I loved watching him watch everything - the boots, the sign language. Can't wait for the prison break when it comes. Sadly, I think something bad is coming for Marva and/or Bix and that will be the catalyst for pushing Cassian into full rebel mode.
  10. Microblading is a type of semi-permanent tattoo, and the quality depends on the skill of aesthetician performing the work. You can also still fill them in with a pencil or powder for a more dramatic look after microblading if you desire. No idea if Rebs is just filling in natural brows, has had them microbladed or both. I actually think her brows looked nice and nothing out of the ordinary other than being precise and polished.
  11. Completely agree. I am astounded at how good Trevor looked last night compared to week one! He has really stepped it up, and I give credit to Emma and his attitude for the improvement. Contrast how much better Trevor and Jordin have gotten compare to Vinny. I know he isn't a dancer, but he looks almost as bad now as he did in his first dance. No growth. We are getting to the point where I feel we are in for a "shock elimination" next week because Vinny is staying past his expiration date. Tonight was the first time I really felt that I could see that Daniel cannot hear the music. His movements were pretty jerky in some spots. I don't care though because I am astounded at how good he is without hearing anything! I can't believe I'm saying it, but I love Gabby. She is so funny. I would rather see this ringer win than Charli. My actual favorites are Wayne and Shangela. I absolutely loved the Michael Buble performance with the dancers. I love when Derek dances, and this lived up to the hype. I absolutely loved the circular walk when he windmilled Haley over his head, and the line of dancers all dancing together. Just great. I was disappointed Michael was sitting at the already over crowded judges table rather than singing the whole night, but I'll take this. Now excuse me, I'm off to download that album.
  12. I was referring more to the fact that they had a bonfire on Halloween and less about the s'mores, but still, interesting that they originated with the Girls Scouts, more proof that it's a camping treat.
  13. You are putting me in mind of the movie "Meet Me in St. Louis" where the kids have a giant bonfire in the street on Halloween. Still, even in that movie, the housekeeper is making a giant cake, not s'mores! You are my kind of person with your marshmallow description! I also like to set mine completely on fire and then when it's good and charred, it goes on the graham and partially melts the chocolate and then and only then is it edible! And the proportions were off in this challenge - mainly because they made ganache instead of using a square of chocolate. Even if they had cut those marshmallows in half the ratio of marshmallow to chocolate would still be off because the chocolate was just a thin smear on the biscuit.
  14. I know for sure Prue said it at least once. I was also annoyed. Not as annoyed as I was hearing Paul say "tack-o", but still........
  15. Same! I greatly prefer the Jumbo Jet Puffed Kraft marshmallows over a fancy homemade which are sometimes too wet and giggly and resembling meringue (which I hate). Plus, I like my mallow almost black, and a homemade is not going to stand up to that kind of torching! And regarding the chocolate component, last summer I found reese's break apart squares that were just like a Hershey Bar but peanut butter cup. Delicious! But S'mores to me are a summer treat eaten when camping, not a halloween food! This whole technical was stupid. I would consider it the worst except, you know, tacos...... I kind of love Sandro. He always makes something I want to eat, and he looked sexy with his wings and guyliner ;-p Speaking of guyliner, Janusz was hilarious for going as Noel. Loved the boots.
  16. I didn't mean what was he doing on Niamos, I meant what was he doing in that bathroom when he had the shower running to conceal whatever he was doing.
  17. My personal favorite was Cassian's beach holiday get up. I would wear that, and I am a 50 yo woman. I cannot deny that his shirtless bathroom scene wasn't nice to look at either ;-p Also, what was he doing there??? Guess I was distracted by the pecs........ I literally yelled out loud when I saw him come from behind the wall and choke him. I cannot wait! But what a sham - six years for basically looking around in a suspicious manner! No trial - just six years for basically doing nothing! Still, he might be safer in prison than with the empire looking for him and Vel now turning hit woman with him as her target..... I kind of loved when she went off in that meeting, and her co-worker got demoted. I feel like I see her turning on the empire more than Karn. I think the deeper she digs the more corruption she will find in the Empire. And what a catch she would be for the rebellion. Smart, fierce and tenacious. I thought the scene between Cassian and his mom was so wonderful. When he said "I would worry all the time" and she said "that's just love" I cried. She just summarized being a parent. For me, one of the most emotional scenes in any star wars show or movie. I absolutely love Fiona Shaw here. Cane in one hand and a gun in the other. That fighting spirit is the reason the Empire eventually fails. The argument between Luthen and Mon Mothma was great. I felt it was basically piss or get off the pot time for him, and she's not ready to come out of the shadows yet. I wonder if Dedra's digging is going to lead her to either of these characters? This show is jut killing it for me. I really enjoy all these show (well, not Boba Fett until Mando showed up), but this one is hitting the emotional beats and characterizations better even if it's been a slow burn. I love it.
  18. Really sorry to see Joseph go - he has a really nice personality and he and Daniella make a good team. I think one of favorite moments last night was when Alfonso was talking and Joseph walked behind him cradling Sasha - so dumb and funny! I would rather have seen Heidi or Jessie or Vinny go before Joseph. Bummer. WAAAAAYYYYNNNEEE! That was The Dance! I absolutely loved it - could not stop smiling while I was watching. That and his Hamilton dance are my favorites of the season. Fire!!!!! Shangela and Gleb are awesome - she was selling it and I was buying it! Fab! I don't usually like the Bachelorettes on this show but I kind of love Gabby - she's so wonderfully weird and funny. Voting for herself for prom queen, I appreciated her just jokingly (sort of) owning it. And props to her for being a nurse during the pandemic. That tango was great - glad she got the top score. Charli is very good, but man, when you compare her to the other three I mentioned, she just comes across a little robotic. I'm more interested in someone like Trevor who started so terribly and is getting better every week. I like seeing Emma really pushing him. Jordin was overscored, but I always think contemporary is on this show because they just don't know how to judge it. I wish the show would stop doing contemporary.
  19. 100!!!!!!!! Thank you! That's all I could think when I watched it. Same dance with 80% less personality!
  20. Let's not forget about Mark - production is anxious to secure his path to the finals as rumor has it he only agreed to come back if he had Charli. Gotta keep him happy and on board too. The fix is on! I am still salty Wayne was not given at least one 10 for last week - I felt his Hamilton dance was more emotional than this contemporary from Charli and Mark. I guess I have seen too many of these kind of dances from years of watching So You Think You Can Dance. I'm over it. I thought Gabby, Heidi, Travis, Shangela and Joseph had really good weeks. Daniel was fine, but again, I am tired of contemporary. Jessie is mediocre and forgettable. I can't remember anything about her dances as soon as she finishes dancing. Unfortunately, I feel kind of the same with Jordin even though I like her. I feel like she might be better if she had a better partner. I don't know what the judges are drinking with Vinny. He is absolutely terrible. I hope he goes tonight. Koko is adorable though. Selma leaving was sad - what a terrible disease! Prayers for rest and recuperation <3
  21. @katha - Thanks for the thoughtful analysis. I agree this show did a better job with the villain characterization. Your summary of the misdeeds of Galadriel make a lot of sense. Time will tell if they can bring it around, but unfortunately, I don't trust this show or the actress to make it work. I guess we'll see! I guess, but I just don't care enough about these characters to devote that much time to Nori leaving. I would have rather had more dwarves, or see where Isildur's horse went ;-p
  22. Thank you. This whole plot seems crazy to me! Warrior Galadriel who doesn't trust anyone (including the actual Queen of Numenor who should be seen as an elf ally) is suddenly like "you are the king of the Southlands!" even though he was all "No I'm not. No I'm not. Okay, sure". And then all of the villagers cheering some guy they've never seen because an elf says "He's your king!", yet side eyed Arondir when he showed up and completely untrusting of Bronwyn (who lives in their village!) until she hefted an orc head onto the counter. Just terrible characterization all around. It's also probably bad that I was actually happy to see Sauron show up Galadriel after her sneering hubris for most of this show. His demeanor shift was so subtle but effective. I am loving him. Is it wrong to want to root for Sauron now because Charlie Vickers is so delightful? Boy you said it. I never thought she would leave! I feel like they wanted to portray the emotion of Frodo saying goodbye to the Shire at the end of the last movie, but here it just isn't earned at all. Fifteen hugs. I swear it was the third age by the time Nori walked up the hill to him.....
  23. Same! I am struggling with all of the middle of the pack teams, except for the cheerleaders who I quite like. Nobody is horrible (with the exception of the two whiners this week) but nobody stands out either. I cannot fathom the hideous attitudes of Sharik and Dom. I really wish there could have been a double elimination. I feel bad for Sharik's dad, but she doesn't deserve this opportunity. And bitching about that roadblock which was tedious but not hard? I don't feel like they will be around much longer because she will have to do more than this one roadblock. Contrast these two women's attitudes with Tall Wife/Short Husband (sorry no names for most yet!) who were dead last at the start of this leg, but just kept trying. Love the brothers and sisters.
  24. Thank you for saying this - I feel like Star Wars fans are hard to please and very critical, and most of the time I love all of it. I sometimes feel like I'm the only one. It makes it even sweeter when one of the shows lives up to the hype!
  25. Totally agree, especially after the conversation with the General when he said "you will hang for this" and Gorn said "I've worked for you for six years - I deserve worse". I was sad Nemik died. I thought it was telegraphed pretty obviously since the manifesto, but when he made it onto the ship I thought "oh! I was wrong!", then he got crushed and I was like "no, I was right!", then they found him alive and took him to a doctor and I was like "it's star wars - they can make him half robot - he'll live!", then the sheet over him, "nope, dead". Boo....... I had no idea Skeen was a traitor - did not see that coming. And there was a moment I thought Cassian might agree. I was relieved when he took out his gun and shot him, but it put him in a bad position with Vel. Can't wait to see where this goes. This episode was so awesome! Best episode. I know a lot of people are down on these D+ shows, but for me there have been some incredible episodes and this is one of them.
