  1. Um, a lot when you are raised in a very strict and conservative Christian home as she has been. I was as well (not 7th Day Adventist though) and it messed me up. I think Lindy explained it pretty well that there is a lot of guilt and shame related to sex that is taught and indoctrinated when you are a teen especially. I know many are down on her, but I thought their discussions were good and both of them are being honest about where they are coming from. They also have a fun camaraderie that bodes well for them. I do think they are matched well looks-wise and I still hold out hope for them. But is "Boats and Hos" a real saying? What does that even mean??? I think Miguel is pretty sexy looking. I laughed when he said he wasn't opposed to mediocre sex. :-p No hope for Mitch and Krysten. She is a boss and he doesn't deserve her and I hope when she dumps his ass he realizes what he lost. Alexis is lying to herself. No way is she into Justin as much as she is saying she is. He is too much. I cannot believe she went horseback riding braless! And I hope those boob cutouts on her dinner outfit provided some ventilation because it was long sleeved! In Mexico! I am getting hot just thinking about wearing long sleeves in PV.....I think she would have loved Olajuwon from last season. Nate and Stacia seem well matched despite the money stuff. He caved on the post-nup pretty quick. I had to FF through Bihn and Morgan - I know he had Covid, but dragging the weddings out this long, I just lost interest in them. They seem like a weird match, and by the previews, trouble is brewing....
  2. Oh lord, I saw on Instagram Mafsfan was sharing a post from Clara and Virginia - they were announcing a joint Bumble account and listing their requirements for anyone that would like to hook up with them. Both looked very drunk, and Virginia being true to form, clapping back at some comments there. Hot messes, both of them.... If anyone knows how to add a link, it's pretty entertaining.
  3. Not only that, but when Krysten's mom asked his impression of her he said "She's uh, yeah...I don't really believe in love at first sight" or something like that. So if the only thing you can say to YOUR WIFE'S MOTHER is "you are very beautiful" but "she's uh yeah" it's never going to work no matter how much makeup she is or isn't wearing.
  4. I am guessing Mitch thought the matching shirts were juvenile, which, they kind of are, but has he ever seen this show? He's a turd, but he's also 41 - contrast him with Nate throwing the shirt on and jumping in the tub in excitement - comparatively Mitch already comes across as a persnickety codger....
  5. About as many times as Alexis saying she has been proposed to three times, and Justin saying women want to see what he's packin.......
  6. Man, there was so much cringe this episode! That shower scene! If I can't tell what body parts I'm looking at the camera is too close! Was the camera person in the shower with them???? If so, they deserve hazard pay! And literally anything involving Justin and Alexis! Although, I have to say, I am here for the awful/awesome weirdness of Justin and Alexis. They are my comic relief. Both of them say such dumb stuff and the constant rubbing. Justin describing his physical state upon waking the morning after the wedding and telling THE WHOLE GROUP - GAH!!!!!! Ha ha ha!!!!! It's so bewildering that the most mature couple so far is Stacia and Nate! Most of their conversations were thoughtful and mature. Although get out of here with that "We use the same toothpaste! We're soulmates!" I guess my husband and I are doomed because we use different kinds of toothpaste and dental floss. Uh oh....... They could have skipped Bihn and Morgan and I would have been fine. What happened here is proof that five couples is not necessary! Mitch continues to be annoying. No poppers and refusing to put on the "Hubby" shirt. What a party pooper. He's married to a sorority gal - she is here for the matching tees and poppers! This is just a total mismatch. I think Krysten insisting that she's usually in her natural state is an overstatement. Someone who has described themself as "Elle Woods" and whose family describes as "bougie" is not all natural all the time!!! But so far, she is delightful. I like her. Lindy is a little high strung, but I still think this is the cutest couple. Hopefully Miguel can deal with his magenta flags, and it's no harm, no foul since both sides of their families were rude and overstepping at the brunches. I think Lindy is adorable with her freckles. I hope they make it as they both seem nice and "mostly" well adjusted. I love PV and you can bet I will be looking at that resort! It looks awesome!
  7. Finally finished this, but I have to say, I actually enjoyed it! I think Jeff is the perfect goofy balance to Ann's drill sergeant bit. I hope he stays - he fits this show like a glove! I really didn't care who won, but I do think Jodi deserved it slightly more. Oh well, this show is dumb so I'm not too worked up about it.
  8. She sure did. No idea what the hell that means, not sure I want to know. Gonna file that tidbit in the area of my brain that houses the "freak in the sheets" comment by the wedding officiant.....blech!
  9. Wow! I would have lost that bet - my money was on Alexis and Justin! I think the sure thing yesses on DD are Stacia and Nate and Lindy and Miguel. The rest are a toss up for me.
  10. True, but it's possible that they are more important to her than she is to them, which was my point about Nate's face during that exchange - maybe she is making more of their friendship than actually exists.
  11. Ok, I have a kind of different take on the Megan/Stacia/Nate conversation. Megan stated that she just moved to San Diego a year ago and Nate's friend group welcomed her. Nate looked super uncomfortable as she was talking. Maybe it's because they had hooked up, but could it also be that she wanted more from him and he didn't reciprocate? How close could they really be if she's only known him for a year - it's not like they have been lifelong friends.......
  12. For familiars, energy vampires, potential victims?
  13. Fred Armisen seems to have created a niche for himself appearing in Taika Waititi shows and dying quickly...... The hats were my favorite part! They look like something you can get at Dollar Tree during Halloween and you can be sure I will be looking for them this year!
  14. Ok, long post, buckle up: Mitch is a turd. There is a reason he is still single. Oh, and Krysten, he will not be impressed with your recycling. That just means you are still using plastic, which he loathes. I am already over him. Krysten might have sprung the wedding news on her dad, but couldn't she at least have given him a hint that her surprise would include him needing a suit? I'm sorry, but this is DOA. A gal that is described as "bougie" is not Mitch's type. I am more than confident that BO$$ Lady can handle Megan and her hiking and sunsets. The way she kept eye contact but took Nate's hand as Megan babbled on lets me know she is a BO$$. He can stop his horndog ways or get gone and I don't doubt she will let him know. I don't think Stacia will be hiking with Megan anytime soon. Side rant: Please show, for the love of Jamie Otis, stop making people ask their family member's new spouse "what are your intentions with my (fill in the blank)?" Just once I would love someone to say "My intention is to get some cash, a place to crash and a fcuk before I peace out in eight weeks." It's a stupid question, and it comes up EVERY SINGLE SEASON. STOP IT! Ooof - all the cringe with Alexis and Justin. He looks like her little brother. That garter peel was almost as embarrassing as the Shawneice and Jephte lap dance, maybe only less so because Alexis at least looked like she enjoyed it. Although, I am wondering if her drunken state by the end was because she was just trying to get some liquid courage to deal with being matched with the guy she rejected on tinder or wherever. That was a funny conversation though: "How do you know it was me?" "Please, how many 7 foot guys are wandering around San Diego?" "Yeah, that's true". Ha! So far, Miguel and Lindy are the best bet for success here. Lindy's brother had no business quizzing Miguel about religion at his wedding reception. Totally inappropriate, but Miguel handle it well. I really hope Lindy feels differently than her brother because this could be another Ryan and Clara situation, and shame on the "experts" if they disregarded someone's religious preferences. That is a major deal breaker! I think they are playing up Miguel's nerdy stuff - he seems pretty well adjusted. I liked his "how does my butt look?" and his conversation with his friends. They do seem fun. Why on earth couldn't the show just go ahead and show Bihn and Morgan's wedding on this episode? Who cares if it is three days later? The audience has no idea - some seasons they are married over multiple days anyway! Understatement of the year: this show needs better editing. But I know I am just kidding myself - they are going to string this shit out for as looooong as they can. Ok - who's consummating first? My money is on Justin and Alexis - between the booze, Justin's horniness, and Alexis' "designer vagina" (whatever that means), I think it's going to happen soon ;-0
  15. I completely agree about the comedy show - anyone remember old seasons when the grooms would be waiting anxiously and the bride would amble up and the only thing exchanged before vows was maybe names and a handshake? Now they are all laughing and talking and making asides to the crowd through the whole ceremony as if they know they whole thing is a joke.
  16. I also enjoy the weddings - sometimes it's the only time everyone is on their best behavior. It's the 10 episodes that follow the honeymoons that make me quit watching. I think as a whole these are the ugliest wedding dresses of any season. Stacia is the only one who I think looked good, but I do think she has too much makeup on. Alexis had pretty hair. After that, I got nothing. Mitch is going to be exhausting to watch this season. I like him a little less every time he opens his mouth. Miguel is cute but that was so cringey pulling out the D&D thing in the first five minutes. I wonder if production made him do it, much like Alexis mentioning her three proposals every five minutes. Nate creeps me out. If my wedding officiant uttered the words "freak in the sheets" during my wedding ceremony, it would be over immediately. Imaging having that in your wedding video for all eternity. Good thing these fools will probably only be married for 8 weeks and it won't matter.
  17. I'm going with this answer as most likely. No real reason other than that the show features kids and it's an homage to 80's horror.....
  18. I think it's interesting that the pictures Will was drawing of the Mind Flayer in S2 looked exactly like what 001 was drawing as a kid. I really hope that Will's connection is key in S5. I would even love if Will developed some kind of powers because of his connection to help El fight Vecna. I have such mixed feelings about this season. I think the Vecna reveal was great, but overall it was disappointing to have the kids all separated, and the less said about the dumb Russia plot, the better. I think Dr. Brenner deserved a much more gruesome death than just being shot in the back. The best part of the show this season was our scooby gang in Hawkins. It took way too long to get everyone back there. But I have such affection for all of these characters that none of this matters. I really hope the Duffers can stick the landing next season. One final question: other than his own family, why did vecna only prey on teens?
  19. If Bihn lives near the beach, it's probably okay most of the time as it's a pretty mild climate there year round; however, with him being such a cheap ass, he probably lives inland and that definitely gets hotter. But the thing that pissed me off the most was the comment about giving his bride socks for christmas and birthdays. I really hope he was joking, but knowing this show, probably not. All of these people are terrible. Just terrible. Only one I like at this point is Miguel, and he's been shown wearing a bear costume more than without! And that poem! Oof........ Hey - did anyone catch that Alexis has been proposed to THREE TIMES????? Good lord, you could make a drinking game out of how many times she mentioned it. Nobody cares girl. Let it go. I do think she is pretty, but her style is......something. The girl get together outfit, bachelorette party getup, and the wedding dress - all bad. Her wedding dress might be my least favorite in MAFS history. The boob pads were hideous, and the waist area made her look bigger. It looked very cheap. Her hair and makeup were beautiful though. At least Justin thought she looked good. But no, these two are not going to make it. I am watching this disaster mostly to snark. When people make comments about "marriage is for ever!" I'm like, "Or eight weeks"..........
  20. I guess we'll have to see - they all seem mostly decent at this point in the season - she might end up crazy and he might be a delight; time will tell. I'm basing my opinion on the fact that they are both older. I agree that ultimatums right off the bat suggest a very inflexible person which doesn't work on this show, but if her interests intersect with his, they might work. Or not. I wouldn't make any bets with this show. It always seems like every season, either the women OR the men are decent choices. This season, it's the women. Re: shared accounts, everyone is different and couples have to do what works best for them. Joint accounts have never been an issue for us.
  21. I'll ask him when we watch the next episode ;-p He did call Stacia "scary". He didn't elaborate and I didn't ask, but I'm guessing it's the makeup, not the credit score question...... It's so dumb - I hooked him several seasons ago - Dallas Dave & Amber - he was working in our home office and I was watching MAFS in that room. Soon he was turning away from the computer toward the tv and he couldn't stop himself from commenting, and now he will watch to the bitter end even when I quit halfway through the season. He watched until D-day last season! Guilty pleasure, or something boring to lull him into falling asleep for his evening pre-bedtime nap....
  22. Another good episode. Things I laughed at this episode: Oliver and Charles impersonations of Bunny and the look on Mrs. Gambolini's face - the parrot actually looked confused! "How did she know that???" "She's an actual witch!" "Fuck you." Fuck you." Seems a very New York goodbye. Charles over-long description of his awkward party kiss with Bunny. Blech!!!! "Do you need me to actually slap you, or can we just skip ahead?" Sting's apartment looking like 1990's Z Gallery! Ha!
  23. I am coming up on my 25th anniversary in the next year with my husband and we have always had joint accounts, no separate ones at all. We both work full time and sometimes I make more and sometimes he does as his income fluctuates because he is in sales. It's always worked for us. But each couple is different. I swore I wasn't going to watch, but I couldn't help myself, especially with my husband saying "let's watch this!" Ugh! Only ones I give a chance are the sorority gal and environmental guy. Maybe. The rest are terrible matches, and I agree Morgan was clearly mismatched. But who cares - maybe she and Miguel will hook up after DD. Lindsey continues to be an asshole. I am glad Iris and Amber at least got a fun friendship out of this show. I still think Iris is the prettiest woman to ever be on this show, but I don't need to know any more about her sex life (or lack thereof) ever again. Jessica and Austin are adorable. I love that she wore her D-Day outfit.
  24. I don't hate Amy Schumer - my husband & I might be the only people who actually liked the cooking show she did with her husband during the pandemic. I don't feel bad for the hate she gets though - she kind of invites it. I do think her trying to play "Amy Schumer" was kind of awkward - Sting actually did it better last year playing himself. I hope she is used sparingly much like Sting. As far as Michael Rapaport, did you happen to watch Atypical? He was great in that.
