  1. Well said! :) Lest anyone think I'm trying to hold myself up as above it all, and speaking as a viewer who enjoys some good reality-show drama, I'm not gonna lie - the catfishing scandal was amazing. GOLD, I tell ya! But of course at the same time, I felt for all parties. I really think the scenes of everyone trying to deal with it were powerful, especially Meri and Kody's. Kody was so measured in his words, but the horror was written all over his face. And the divorce was indeed heartbreaking. I'd love to know the real story behind it all, as I agree, we were not told the truth. Kody and Robyn tried to hide their delight but it seeped out all over the place. They were so happy when they made it legal, you could feel it coming through the tv screen!
  2. I don't think that's obvious at all. I sincerely doubt that every, or almost every, poster on this site hates every member of the Brown family. And I never said I loved them all and find everything they do just delightful. Many posters here have said they follow many of the Browns on social media - why would someone follow a public person on social media if they hated them? Makes no sense at all. If I find someone distasteful, I avoid them. The Browns are an interesting family and their stories are interesting to observe. I enjoy the snark and sitting in my armchair passing judgement like many others, though obviously not as much as some. But if I loathed these people, I would not watch a show about them. Thank you! Believe me, I don't think the Browns are paragons of society, or that we should emulate them or hold them up as examples. And some of the comments by their fans on social media are over the top, based on what I've seen from Twitter and Instagram posts on this board. But I like them (for the most part) and I find the show entertaining.
  3. Hahaha, omg yes - now that's some sculpted facial hair!
  4. LOL, yeah I do prefer the beard/mustache combo over just a beard. It looks like Aspyn's fiance has a bit of a mustache though - maybe that's all he can grow, or maybe he just started letting it grow in? And I have to admit that I like the scruff - the only time I really have an issue with facial hair is when it is too groomed - don't like that carved metrosexual look.
  5. I like the leprechaun look! In all seriousness, I think he's a cutie - maybe trim the beard down a bit on the sides, but that's just personal preference. Full disclosure, my husband's a big man with a full beard and mustache, so I am partial to the type. ;)
  6. If you don't like any of them, that's fine. I just don't see the point of watching a show about people I hate.
  7. Will and Vince had broken up once and only got back together in the last season. Since a good portion of that season technically never happened, Will and Vince could've gotten back together at any time in the past 11 years. Same with Grace and Leo. I thought she looked great in the previous two episodes, but I wasn't crazy about her hair in this one. I love the color, but I prefer waves/curls to the blown-out look.
  8. I'm hoping for some good Grace plotlines. I'd like to see her start dating someone - Will too for that matter. I want more of the entire cast interacting as well. But overall I'm still loving the ride.
  9. Pretty solid episode all around. Vince was always a little too high-strung and insecure for my taste, but it was good to see him again, and it's good that Will got closure on their relationship. The toasts were funny, and Jack was hilarious as always. Karen's bit was great as well.
  10. My husband and I started watching the show because our curiosity was piqued; what makes polygamist families tick? Why would anyone choose to live such a lifestyle? As with any other "reality" show, you start getting to know the people and you form your opinions and you become interested in their lives. If I didn't like them, I wouldn't watch. I couldn't watch, because it would be stressful and irksome and a complete waste of time to watch a show about people that I cannot stand. Kody has earned most of the criticism he receives, but I really believe he loves his children, and has varying degrees of affection for his wives. Although not sure how much he has left for Meri, and I can't say I blame him at this point. The wives are all interesting and so different, and I find the interaction between them and how they have progressed, or regressed, as the show has gone on interesting as well. It's also interesting to see how their children are growing and maturing and how they are handling fame and the ups and downs of their lifestyle. For the most part, they are all good, decent people. But they also make mistakes and behave badly; they are sometimes pious and selfish and thoughtless, and also funny and silly and emotional and caring. They are not perfect parents or perfect spouses or perfect children, sometimes far from it. And let's be honest, that's where the drama and reality-show goodness comes in. :P But one thing that I try to never forget as watch the show and as I comment on it - that these are all flawed, imperfect human beings, just like the rest of us.
  11. From the previews the new show doesn't look all that interesting to me. I know all reality shows are fake, but the ones coming out now are not even trying to hide the fact, or at least play it well. The drama is amped up from day one and I don't believe it for a minute. I'm invested in Sister Wives; not in any weird or creepy way (I don't even follow any of them on Social Media), but I've watched from the first season and I feel for these people. I know it's mostly BS and replayed drama for the show, but for the most part, I LIKE the Browns - yep, I said it. I don't hate-watch, but I enjoy and participate in the snark when warranted.
  12. I understand your issues with polygamy (definitely NOT my thing!), but all of the wives entered into this lifestyle willingly and took oaths, vows, what have you, whether legally or spiritually. The understanding is that they are committed to each other, and the wives know and understand that their husband will be having sex with the others. Someone who is in-the-know can correct me if I'm wrong, but I would imagine the understanding is that the wives will be faithful to their husband. It's not a lifestyle that I would participate in at all, ever ever ever, but if all parties agree, there you go. That being said, there is an argument to be made that Meri orchestrated the divorce as a way to legally free herself from Kody and pursue a life outside of the family.
  13. Very well-said! I've gone from being upset and completely disagreeing with everyone about the picture to really seeing your points. The show has been on so long and so much has happened that I forget half the stuff that has gone down between the wives and Kody. I agree that Kody is not feeling it with Meri anymore, at all, and I can completely understand that. Things had been bad between them for a long time, and then the catfishing happened. I have to give Kody a lot of credit for the way he conducted (and continues to conduct) himself publicly regarding that whole mess. I think he is a lot more humiliated and hurt than he has let on publicly. Not to say he is completely blameless for the deterioration of his relationship with Meri, but crap, that was a public embarassment of epic proportions.
  14. My husband is a large man so I agree, my issues with Tony have nothing to do with his looks. Perhaps people would not be so cruel about his looks if he were a sweetheart and treated everyone, especially Mykelti, better. As it is, two negatives (a stank attitude + perceived sloppy appearance) have a tendency to cause people to focus on both instead of the real problem, which is his personality. Him being so judgy about Mykelti's appearance is not helping his case. Christine has always been my favorite. She has her issues, for sure, but she just seems so much fun. I am glad that it seems she and Kody have worked on their relationship and are in a better place, as things were quite rough between them for a while. She had a real hard time when Robin joined the family, and now they get along and I think it's great. I love their scenes together.
  15. Lol I think I will, and thanks for the edit! :)
  16. LOL true - and I completely agree with what you said about the catfishing - Kody has every right to feel awful about that. BTW, love your avatar! :D
  17. Oh yeah I forgot about that, good point!
  18. Celia, I edited my other post just as you were quoting me as I felt my words were a bit harsh. I have a tendency to give the Browns the benefit of the doubt, but I do understand your take on Meri and the situation. :)
  19. Pretty sure he was talking about waiting to have kids, not waiting to have sex. It's not an unusual thing for a parent to say.
  20. It's pretty clear to me that the post was a light-hearted joke. Regardless, it is a cute picture of the three of them.
  21. Thank you <3 and yes, W & G definitely are old friends that I'm so happy.are back - I didn't realize how much I missed them! :)
  22. Lol gotcha. It's funny, certain things that I used to love I'm finding too sweet as I get older, like cream soda, some candy bars, some ice creams...but I can still eat frosting right out of the can!
  23. Oh yeah, I don't believe anything is shown in real time. He and Janelle did an ok job of pretending though, lol.
  24. Ah, that makes sense - I thought those pictures were the more recent ones. Yes, in the pictures on the current website, the rooms look nicer.
  25. Yeah, I don't like it at all. It's not even cute, it just looks wrong.
