  1. Maddie's never been a favorite of mine - she always had a bit of an attitude. I am surprised that she took the "marriage and baby route" so young though. Mykelti's the one I thought would really do something interesting. I liked her rebel persona. I have a feeling that even now, she's the one who'd be the most fun to hang out with. (<sentence ending in a preposition!). It would've been cool to see her pursue a career in fashion, but perhaps her talent level wasn't elevated enough to make it in the business.
  2. I've seen lots of people get diapers at baby showers. Very appropriate. Less special to receive them as a birthday gift from you father. At least they could try and sell those watches for some cash.
  3. I hear you. But for sentences that require a preposition, it is not necessary to perform linguistic gymnastics to make sure that it isn't at the end. See example above - it's perfectly acceptable to say "Whose house are you going to?" as opposed to "To whose house are you going?" The former sounds more natural; the latter is formal - I don't know anyone who speaks that way IRL.
  4. "Where are you going?" is a complete sentence. The "at" is unnecessary. An example of ending a sentence with a preposition: "Whose house are you going to?" vs "To whose house are you going?"
  5. I think this might be my favorite episode of the series.
  6. LOL, no, stains are not attractive. Will be interesting to see how they pulled this wedding together - maybe we will see how the stain entered the picture. :P
  7. Wow, he really looks good here, Mykelti too. I suppose he just wanted to be his version of comfortable for his own wedding, which I understand. But yes, if he's going to wear jeans and sneaks, then he could at least shut his mouth about how Mykelti wears her hair. Who knows, maybe Mykelti loved the way Tony looked?
  8. The whole point of this episode was that Sheldon was not an ass until the very end, when Leonard went looking for trouble. Leonard missed the old Sheldon. This time it was his issue, not Sheldon's.
  9. I'm seeing spin-offs and crossovers all over the place here!
  10. Well this is interesting! I wasn't going to watch Seeking Sister Wife but I decided to give it a try and watched the first episode. I plan on continuing, but this adds a bit of a twist now, doesn't it?
  11. Agree 100%. The love and respect that they have for their children is very heartwarming. I will forever admire Kody for his reaction and behavior when Mariah came out to the family. His immediate acceptance and his words of love and support were a thing of beauty.
  12. Well, if one wife is always complaining and acting passive-agressive, jealous and needy, and the other is always sweet, loving and comforting, which one would you like better? Hmm, doesn'this all sound SO familiar...?
  13. ^ All this! ^ Meri and kody have struggled for years. If their relationship was stable, she may still go do her own thing, but I think she would be more involved and "present" with the family. The catfish incident drove a big wedge between her and the rest of the adults. Again, if she had a decent relationship with Kody, that probably would not have happened. I would have had no trouble believing that this is a natural progression IF things were ok with her and Kody and IF the catfish incident never happened. As it is, we can all see why Meri is so checked out.
  14. Oh I agree, it irks me, that word. I just wanted to point out that while it is not classified as standard english, it is in the dictionary. I've resigned myself to the fact that it is not going away. Even using the word "literally" when you do not actually mean literally is being accepted by TPTB as an informal or slang term. So now, you have to really emphasize "literally" to make someone understand that you mean literally! Other grammatical situations that really bug me: pronouncing the "T" in often - it was drilled into me in school that the "T" was silent! But not anymore, apparently. Also, when someone says that they "could" care less when what they mean is that they couldn't care less. Ooooh, that bugs me!
  15. I confess, I hate hardwood floors. Noisy and cold. I can understand people who have children or pets not wanting carpet, but it's just adults here. Carpet is warmer, cozier, and reduces noise, especially in bedrooms. I zoomed in on the pictures of the BnB and the carpeting looks like it is in good shape. No need to go through the expense of ripping it up if it's still good.
  16. Good news - it's actually a myth that you should not end a sentence in a preposition. I was thrilled when I learned this, as it always seemed so natural, and finding ways to not do it made sentences sound so stilted!
  17. I don't know how that works either. They are not mainstream so do not follow their doctrine, but there must be some way to separate yourself from your spiritual husband. But I'm sure it is not easy, and I would think there would be ramifications in the family and maybe the church. I don't know. Something that really struck me is how the family is talking about Meri pulling away like it is completely natural because she has no children at home - Robyn talked about how that happens in plyg families, where one wife is done with young kids and goes off and does her own thing. And Meri is discussing it like it is all a natural progression. And they keep pointing out how they are not letting her separate TOO much, yadda yadda. They are ignoring and/or glossing over the fact that we KNOW why this is all happening!
  18. Good point about it being loud there frequently. I have a tendency to look out the window when I hear noise in my neighborhood, as it's usually pretty quiet. I will say, if Meri got home and nobody saw her, and she works in a part of the house not facing the other houses, she could probably miss the commotion. The whole thing is kind of strange though.
  19. LOL, I have to tell you, I also watch Alaskan Bush People (don't judge!), and their name is also Brown. People online have been referring to them as the Brown Clowns for a few years, so whenever someone says it here I immediately think of them. :P
  20. Yess, Logan definitely got out of the car, so I assumed he went in as well.
  21. Fair points. Leah Remini has talked extensively about how those raised in Scientology are indoctrinated hard core and there is always an answer for everything. The problem is, those answers are lies, smoke and mirrors. It usually takes a trigger, something egregious that wakes someone up to the realization that something is not right. Once that happens and the person finds the courage to break free, they often suffer a lot of guilt and shame over what they supported, and often what they actively participated in. The cult works hard to shelter members from the press, internet, etc. It's against their doctrine to read or listen to anything "bad" said about Scientology. In fact, if they do hear a negative thought or opinion from someone, they must report it. And then the person who said something bad will be punished. That's just the tip of a sick, twisted iceberg. I can understand how those tactics may have been more successful back in the pre-internet age, but now, when information is so readily available, it's very hard to believe that these celebrities haven't heard or read what's really going on.
  22. I don't get why remodeling is necessary either. That room looked like a pretty good size, with a bathroom right across the hall - have the kids use the other bathroom that was mentioned. I grew up in a house with two parents, four kids and ONE bathroom - I think they should be able to manage!
