  1. YES. IMO, Tim gives them too much help and too many ideas. I don't remember how much advice he used to give in the earlier Bravo seasons, but it seems that since the move to Lifetime (and especially the last few seasons) he has convinced designers to completely scrap their original concepts and even given them specific direction on what to make. That sort of flies in the face of the point of the show, doesn't it? Is it fair for a designer to win (or be eliminated) based on a design concept that was not theirs? That's always bugged me. Curious to know others' opinions on this.
  2. I have to disagree with this - hot mess or haute couture, I would've loved to see a finale collection from Claire.
  3. I don't like this at all. It's bizarre. It is so clear that Brandon, Kentaro and Ayana deserve to be the top three. If this was just a contest to decide between Margarita and Kenya for a fourth slot, I would understand. Now there is a chance that either Ayana or Kentaro won't make it - because you know Brandon's going.
  4. It has to be the facework, I agree. Although, I will give her props, because in this episode she sounded the closest to Grace so far this season. It looked like the botox may have settled a bit as well.
  5. Signing with Payless turned out to be a very smart move on his part. And I loved that red dress he made for Leslie Jones - she looked stunning! I've got such a soft spot for Christian. By far my favorite winner - I must've watched the last five minutes of that season finale every day for a month! Everyone seemed genuinely thrilled for him, from Heidi and the judges to Tim, his model Lisa, and of course his family. For me, it is still the best win and the best moment in the history of the show.
  6. LOL, he did sign on with Payless shortly after his win, and their partnership is still going strong. As for Michael Costello, you are right, I stand corrected. Some of his stuff is absolutely gorgeous!
  7. There have been a few designers who have parlayed their win into more success in their careers - but Christian Siriano is the only one who competes on the level of "high" fashion and can reasonably be considered a success as a New York couture designer. He presents full collections at New York Fashion Week every season, has his own New York Boutique, as well as floor space at Neiman Marcus and in upscale boutiques across the country. That's not to denigrate the careers of other designers, I just think Christian has reached a level that no other designer on the show has. BTW I LOVE Dmitry!
  8. This looks 100 times more stylish than anything Brandon has made so far!
  9. Holy Moly, this show was and is funny as hell! How did they not win best writing Emmys every year?
  10. Exactly why I often rewatch shows I love - I always catch something I missed or didn't get to enjoy enough the first time. I also find that I enjoy an episode more the second (or even third) time I watch it.
  11. But if he's not happy, I say go for it. Life's too short to be miserable, wasting time doing something you hate because it pays well.
  12. Fade actually said it to Heidi first when he was eliminated in season 13, but he's German so that makes sense. They even exchanged a few words in their mother tongue before he walked off stage. I loved Fade!
  13. I'm on season four of a rewatch, and yes, it's always been very topical. Lots of zingers and one-liners referencing current events, celebrities past and present, etc. I'm not sure. I'm loving this reboot and think the writing has been sharp and funny (and often touching) for the most part. The only sticking point for me so far has been Debra Messing's trouble tapping back into Grace.
  14. I have no problem with that. They were all full-grown adults during the original run, certainly by the end. How much more maturing do people have to do between 35 and 50? I'm over 50 and I'm not much different than I was 11 years ago. I'm married now and have a house, but personality-wise I'm pretty much the same. I've always loved the big red hair, but I miss the curls/waves. Plus again, the botox is obvious, and her body is different. All of this is not necessarily bad, but she just hasn't tapped into Grace yet. I've seen flashes the previous two episodes, but this episode, not so much.
  15. I actually like most of her wardrobe this season. The issue for me is the botox. My sister and one of her friends used to get it regularly, and the arched eyebrows are a dead giveaway.
  16. In no way was Grace's behavior anything close to harassment. Tony physically touched HER - in fact, there is an argument to be made that he was flirting with her even more than she was flirting with him.
  17. Yes but the point was that she DID know better, but it has been so long since she has had a romantic relationship...plus, she did not even touch Tony and he barely touched her. I'm surprised at how morally outraged everyone is over this. It's certainly in keeping with the tone of the show over the years. Harvey Weinstein's disgusting behavior doesn't mean that no one can ever flirt with anyone again.Yeesh.
  18. I attribute her memory lapse to some brief post-sedation amnesia. Also, she questions why she is so calm about it and the nurse tells her it's because she's coming down from some powerful sedation. She makes up for it later with Will, that's for sure, lol.
  19. I just watched the episode again, and she tells Will and Jack she's going to the gynecologist but doesn't give a specific reason. Also, she and Will have a conversation after about how she was put under because she's a big baby.
  20. I saw flashes of the Grace we know and love in episode 3, Emergency Contact. So maybe by the next episode she locks in.
  21. I agree, that would be great! Loved KB in the short-lived Jane Lynch sitcom Angel From Hell - very funny.
