  1. I sprained my ankle last year and after physical therapy sessions, they put that boot on my foot with the cold water squeeze and it was fabulous!
  2. Stephen's on fire tonight!

  4. Nothing about this situation is funny. Except maybe this.
  5. Did he really say that??? In a sane world, he would be fired immediately. Of course, in a sane world, he never would have been hired.

I swear the Terps are going to give me a heart attack.
  7. March Madness has brought back Maxwell. I love Maxwell.
  8. I'm in a Death Pool, but there's no money involved. Just fun and games...
  9. Or be married to that woman.
  10. I hated the dance breaks. I really, really hated the guy literally banging the drum kit and scaring the shit out of everyone, to the point that when act 2 started and he started banging, I gave him the finger and the woman sitting next to me gave me the side-eye. I hated the on-stage rain. It added nothing (like the dance and the drums) and the cast didn't even look wet after it stopped. Which made me wonder if it was really raining on them or not. And I really didn't care. I'm all for reinterpreting plays. It keeps things fresh and gives a new point of view. This production just annoyed me throughout. Although, to give it a point in its favor, I did like the cast members who weren't directly involved in the scene sitting on the side of the stage and bringing props over to lay on the raised stage platform when needed. That was kinda cool. I did like the cast, although I wasn't totally convinced by Mitch. Reading now that his understudy went on the following day, perhaps he wasn't feeling well Friday and that's why he didn't come across. After reading about Cabaret and seeing Streetcar, this is why I will avoid Rebecca Frecknall projects going forward.
  11. Quick thoughts on the 3 shows on this trip: Othello - they talked really fast and loud, which worked out for my friend who live here because he caught the last express train to his apartment. It's set in "the near future" but other than the costumes, nothing suggests the near future. Streetcar - Paul Mescal, Patsy Ferran and Anjana Vasan (Stanley, Blanche and Stella) were excellent. I now know that I will never see another show directed by Rebecca Frecknall. I can't tell you how much I disliked this production. Operation Mincemeat - Fabulous! Funny and quite touching. We will probably see it again on the July trip. I will spend the next 2 days eating. And possibly taking in a couple of museums.
  12. I walked into a vacuum cleaner sitting outside the bedroom door. Broke the toe next to the little toe. And that's why I stopped vacuuming... or so I tell myself...
  13. Mina is an ESPN NFL person. She hosts NFL Live and is often on Around the Horn. She's fab!
  14. $6 a dozen here in the DC 'burbs.
  15. I did read one person saying that about the flag. The part that went over my head (many things do...) was that the whole Sandler thing in the hoody being thrown out was a reference to Zelenskyy in the Oval Office not wearing a suit. More people were saying that than the colors thing. I'll just pretend the whole thing was an intentional dig at Trump. Too subtle, but still there. It will make me happy, even if it's a big stretch.
  16. It's all so bleak, but I'd definitely pay to see Bernadette Peters in "There's No Business Like Jail Business." And that's what my overloaded brain will remember from this episode.
  17. We were helping my "sister from another family" pack up her house to sell and found things her dad brought home from WWII - ammunition (!) and a knife with Nazi markings on it. She had the fire department come over to take the ammo. I have a friend who works at the Holocaust Museum - she said they would take the knife. I just need to get it there...someday. I probably could sell it, but I don't want it out in the wild.
  18. Too bad the guy in the office doesn't respect it. Hard for the rest of us to do so.
  19. This part was astonishing - he thinks air traffic controllers should come from MIT because they're "geniuses"??? MIT graduates don't want to be air traffic controllers. He's delusional (I know - not news)
  20. I did read about those, but those aren't the only ones I've seen. Here's something from the AP about a couple of Musk funded PACS running ads. And there were a couple of others - I tried googling the names at the end of the ads (something about energy and one named something with "national interest something"), but of course, nothing comes up because they're all so shadowy in their funding. https://apnews.com/article/musk-donald-trump-doge-biden-zelenskyy-ukraine-harris-russia-45d6cc8f7d51c57602b66141e870a882 Wherever they're coming from, they're incredibly annoying and totally unnecessary because who is he trying to convince at this point?! It's all so discouraging...
  21. Why do I keep seeing commercials for 47 and how "great" his stupid "policies" are. The election is over - I don't know what the hell you're trying to sell me, but I'm sure as hell not buying it. Talk about a waste of money.
  22. This made me smile
  23. Lin-Manuel Miranda is thinking ahead "Hamilton" cancels tour date scheduled to celebrate the 250th birthday of the Declaration of Independence. I wonder what next season will look like at the Kennedy Center... (gift link to the NYT)
  24. Laura Benanti can do no wrong! I also like Meanwhile...
  25. This was the best part of the show for me - my sister lived just off Reisterstown Road and most of my family is in that area. They also did a sketch earlier this season using Dundalk as a place (but didn't use the accent unfortunately...)
