Here's the tread on BroadwayWorld: https://forum.broadwayworld.com/thread/THE-HILLS-OF-CALIFORNIA-Previews Here are a few threads on All That Chat: https://www.talkinbroadway.com/allthatchat_new/d.php?id=2604891 https://www.talkinbroadway.com/allthatchat_new/d.php?id=2604790 https://www.talkinbroadway.com/allthatchat_new/d.php?id=2604497 Both boards use 15th century technology. I spend more time (and even post occasionally) on BroadwayWorld. All That Chat is incredibly scattered and difficult for me to navigate, so I just check in sometimes is there's something I'm looking for. Hope you enjoy the show. If you feel like it, let us know what you think. Our next NY trip is in January and at the moment, we only have one show booked.

I can link a couple of theater message boards if you don't mind a few spoilers. There seem to be mixed reviews.

@mojoween, @ProudMary, @smittykinsand any other Yankee fans - NPR did a story on John Sterling yesterday. I haven't listened to it yet. I'll get around to it...someday... https://www.npr.org/2024/09/21/nx-s1-5108836/legendary-yankees-announcer-john-sterling-retires

Wow. I guess I'm glad I wasn't paying close attention. The AppleTV announcers are really quite bad.
-
The best part of this (not that @mojoweenwill care about this either) is the anchor on BBC News-The Context who, in the middle of the report on Ohtani's game last night, said "not that I understand any of this". And this was after the control booth had shown film of President Zelensky when she started reading the story, so she had to stop and start over again. I was highly amused.

Oh, wait - did I just clap for that? That was mean of me...

Well, he was a terrible pitcher...most of the time. However, sometimes he wasn't. 😉

Late Night With Seth Meyers - General Discussion
ebk57 replied to Words's topic in Late Night With Seth Meyers
Not a big Kevin Hart fan. I agree that it was the least successful Day Drinking segment so far. I really enjoyed the live after-debate special. -
More Bowen Yang. 3 things: 1) The article is reeeeeally long. B) I haven't read the whole thing yet because it's really long (see 1), but the beginning is interesting. iii) I don't even know if anyone without a sub to The New Yorker can read this. I don't see a way to share. Bowen Yang is sorry he's not your clown today

Thank you Jimmy Kimmel for saying Jon Stewart should be ashamed of himself! 😄 The In Memoriam was well done. -

This! He's doing the best show in late night now, and has been for quite a few years. And, I saw his stand-up earlier this year. He's fabulous. -

That was a good intro - even Kristin Wiig didn't annoy me too much. -

Do you know what he said? -
We will never win another game. I guess I can console myself by thinking of all the postseason ticket money I'm going to save. Sigh........................

I had a great theatre weekend on our trip last week. Highlight was Oh, Mary! The stupidest, funniest play I've seen in a looooong time. See it if at all possible!! Next, we saw Hadestown with Stephanie Mills. We saw the original cast, but love Stephanie, so wanted to see it again. Thoroughly enjoyed it again. The understudy for Orpheus was on (Brandon Cameron) and he was fantastic!! I feel like he totally made the show, which I think might be emphasized for me because the weak link in the original cast IMO was Reeve Carney. This time, the weak link was Yolo, but on the whole, the cast is great. Lastly, Stereophonic. I really liked it. My friend said he would have enjoyed more of a plot, but I think the character study was incredibly involving. And then we ate everything not nailed down 😄 Looking forward to the January trip to see Gypsy!!

Iron Splash!! There is no way on this earth I would ever sit in the Splash Zone. I feel I need to make that clear in case anyone was wondering...

This! Thanks for putting this into the words that were not forming in my brain. The concourses are narrow and curving, which for a new(ish) ballpark, is quite a strange design decision. We were sitting in the last row of the lower part of the box seats and there's no appreciable rake there, so it was hard to see. I was looking forward to the second game because we had seats in the club level, so there would have been some height at least. Ah well... Thanks for your good thoughts! We're in NYC now and in the previous 50 years I've been coming here, I've never noticed how uneven the sidewalks are 😄 Take care of your feet kids - they're important!

I liked him and his show when it was on. After the June debate, he posted some tweets that rubbed me totally the wrong way and he kept going with it for a while. I've just had enough.
-
He was horrible. The only upside of that was getting to see several closeups of Grady Sizemore...

I wish this - 🙄 - was on the emoji reaction line. Seriously, he should just go away.
