  1. Jimmy Carter's obit in the NYT was written so long ago that he outlived one of the writers.
  2. Linda Lavin died Dammit. She came through our theatre in Broadway Bound. She was a delightful person, and a real talent.
  3. This! This was all I could think about while he was standing there deciding whether to ruin the lives of everyone on that train, not to mention Alice's. I'm ambivalent about whether he comes back or not. I think it could work out either way for the rest of the characters. But if he'd done that - even the fact that he was contemplating it - made me really anxious, and angry.
  4. https://fcsmerch.com/collections/pop-tarts-bowl-all-products/products/2024-pop-tarts-bowl-dreams-sst I try to buy only from the official site because otherwise, I have no idea who I'm giving my info to.
  5. I was looking around for a tshirt or sweatshirt with just the Pop Tarts logo - not the teams. And I finally found one, but it's white. I don't wear white because it wouldn't be white for long. So I continue to look... The white on had "dreams do come true" on the back, which would have been perfect - if it was black. Or blue. Or gray. Anything but white.
  6. I thought Ted Danson and Stephanie Beatriz were fantastic. I loved seeing Sally Struthers. But my favorite was Stephen McKinley Henderson. I saw him on Broadway in Between Riverside and Crazy and he's just wonderful. And, the fact that they wrote his favorite baseball team as the Orioles - well, Calbert can do no wrong in my eyes, ever!
  7. Heh. I wasn't even paying attention to them. I was just there for the Pop Tarts!
  8. I was neutral on the game, but I just extended the recording because I must have the toasting of the mascot! I'm hoping my brother comes to visit from Italy so he can see it. He's a huge Pop Tarts fan and they don't sell them over there. Which is rude!
  9. The Pop Tarts Bowl is the best thing ever!
  10. The Historical Society website says the train exhibit goes until February 2nd. I guess I'll find out when I get there 😉 My best friend who lives in Washington Heights won't go to Brooklyn, so we have a running joke about how far away it is and I need to bring my passport. I love the Transit Museum - and I'm going to see Streetcar at BAM in March, so I'm good with Brooklyn! PS - do you have a good dinner suggestion around BAM by any chance? TIA
  11. That, and Pride & Protest are definitely on the agenda. They also just got a carousel horse (replacing the Waldorf Astoria clock) and there's the holiday train thing that I love.
  12. The NY Historical Society is my favorite museum anywhere. Don't ask me why, I just love it, so we always go there. Possibly the Met - I have to see what's showing. I also like the Transit Museum, but Brooklyn is soooooo far away. 😄 Thanks for the CH link - that looks really interesting. There's a good chance we might wander over to see it!

I only got 9. And I haven't even started drinking yet.
  14. We're going on the 24th. Then Maybe Happy Ending on the 25th and Eureka Day on the 26th. Museums and lots of food in the times not covered by theater. Can't wait!!
  15. I was actually shocked at the barcodes thing. I do vaguely remember the antiquities thing, so thanks for the articles as a reminder.
  16. I think the Greenland thing has to do with natural resources that would benefit Elonia.
  17. Ah... I see. He's known to be somewhat eccentric, stemming, I guess, from his genius talent. No one really knows how or why he makes his choices. I was so taken by the performance, I didn't realize he was hugging the corner. Agree the ending was emotional. The honorees seemed touched by the performances. I was hoping Mavis would make an appearance onstage, but I was happy to see her there. I did ask Mr. ebk how long the show would be on CBS. He didn't know (and neither do his brothers), so I looked it up. Next year is the last year of the current contract, so we have to hope the head honchos at the KC don't screw it up going forward.
  18. I don't think Dave cares about being cool. And Mr. ebk has just cranked up the volume of the TV. I think that means he's enjoying this. (As am I).
  19. A bedspread? Dave coming out of a van. Perfect!
  20. Agree. It wasn't the best tribute, but it would have been helped by skipping the song... I am amazed that I know of all of Coppola's movies, but I'm not sure I've actually seen any of them. Mr. ebk is a huge Deadhead, so ... here we go!
  21. Coppola yelling "Yo, Adrian" at Talia Shire when she came out onstage - ha!
  22. I think everyone should have been singing along with whoever that was singing The Impossible Dream. It only could have helped. Oh, as for Savion Glover, tap dancing requires a special surface, so that's why you'll see tap dancing done on small platforms built on bigger stages. Unless the entire show is tap dancing, then they use a different stage floor.
  23. Savion Glover has certainly gotten older since I saw him as a child on Broadway. Which is to be expected, I guess... 😄 And, was that Mavis in the audience a bit ago? I love her!!! And, this is a fabulous medley happening right now.
  24. Oh look - Cal Ripken in the audience. And I was shocked...until I remembered that he bought into my baseball team which is majority-owned by David Rubenstein, the chairman of the KC. Makes sense now.
