  1. That was my first thought as well. Her voice sounds as distinctive as Busta's.
  2. I've been rewatching Girlfriends since it's now on Netflix. I just finished Season 3 and I was elated to hear the Teena Marie & Shalamar songs made it back in rotation after Toni & Todd's wedding. I hated the muzak songs on syndication.
  3. I'm glad they found a show for Titus to do. Two episodes in and I'm liking it. Interesting how so far (at least first two episodes) the strongest contestant in the final two lost out to their competitor based on the song they chose.
  4. I binge watched this show thanks to recently watching an episode of Celebrity Watch Party.
  5. I just came here to say Raven Symone's friend reminds me of Dre from Outkast. I thought it was him at first.
  6. Truly sad that people can treat her that way. I didn't care much for the character but that doesn't give anyone the right to harass and bully the actress. As several noted it is ironic the bullying she received considering the anti-bullying stance of the show. With that said even though I wasn't thrilled with her role, I'm glad she's still with the show in Season 4. Will be interesting to see if they do anything different with her character. Plus now that she's made it a season on the show, maybe they'll pass the narration ball to someone else.
  7. I'm just now watching this season. So far I'm just a little halfway through the season. While I get that the British can make the end of the world sound great, it's totally unbelievable how everybody seems to be willing to share everything so easily with Miss Ari. It was great seeing Justin be the one to push back on her interrogations. And now that it's been revealed that she's had sex with Bryce, I'm calling it that she's the one who murdered him. She seemed 'oh so convinced' that Bryce is a good guy that perhaps when shades of old Bryce appeared, i.e. he wants sex when she doesn't want it, she snapped and took him out. Actually the fact that dead Bryce told Clay to go after Ari might be telegraphing her involvement in his demise. It seems obvious that Clay is innocent the way Ari's suddenly willing to throw him under the bus. Guess I'll find out in a few more episodes.
  8. I'm enjoying the kids interacting with one other and how cool that Papa & Maisha are now an item considering they hated each other's guts the last couple seasons. Young love...AWW! Why do I have a feeling that Reggie for all his hate of Latreece may wind up making a move on her and causing a further rift between Kev and him? Poor Keshia. I was wondering if they were doing a kidnapping as 'sex slave' storyline. It was great seeing her bust out of her prison during the blackout but I kept screaming the whole time when she was laying on the ground that she needed to RUN. And what was dude doing when she was busting the doors and making all that noise, taking a dump? Of course he shows up just when Keshia lets her guard down.
  9. Hulu still has an image of him that shows up at the beginning just before the previews to the new episode. They apparently didn't get the memo. LOL
  10. So glad Netflix finally has Season 2 available for streaming. I just finished episode 4. I was spoiled that Candy wouldn't be on the show for too long but wow...I really did enjoy her send-off. It was great again to see adversaries in the show join forces when bad things happen to one of their own (Candy being instrumental in helping Elektra in the previous episode with her dead-John. It was sad that Candy's last scene before her brutal murder was being angry at Pray Tell and just wanting to be heard. I totally felt her pain in those moments. It's sad that it took her passing for Pray Tell to implement her idea. I loved that Candy got the first lip-sync with Stephanie Mills's powerful song. Sigh...if only in real life we could have 'final' conversations with our loved ones after they passed. A very well-done episode.
  11. He's pretty young but I'm guessing he may be familiar with the term. But he wanted more than that with Deven. Speaking of Deven, what a tool.
  12. I liked Zeke too. He seemed pretty chilled and tried to rein in the messy Truth & Ray'Quan. But that was mission impossible. Go Fiji!!!!
  13. AJ and the Queen Cancelled After One Season Honestly can't say I'm surprised. It was a cute series but couldn't see it going beyond a season despite the cliffhanger.
  14. Run Mark, run! Jessica is tiki boom boom. I'm also loving Cameron and Lauren separate and together. Out of everyone I feel like I'd want to be friends with them in real life. I really hope they go the distance.
  15. I would love to see Melody Thorton of PCD fame just to see Nicole's head implode during the eventual reveal and also being pissy throughout Melody's stay as she'll surely recognize her voice.
  16. Hopefully there was some incentive behind the scenes that was given to the late comers. Because they definitely were at a disadvantage. I opted to wait until I knew all the episodes were added before watching. I'm so spoiled by binge watching everything. LOL.
  17. I just finished watching all the episodes. I saw the previews and told myself only one episode but oddly enough found myself hooked. The little actor was annoying at first but she grew on me. And even if RuPaul isn't the greatest actor, the role wasn't a big stretch for his real life so I found him believable. Overall I thought it was a "cute" series. Looking forward to a Season 2 if it gets renewed.
  18. LOL my better half has no interest in this show but the minute he overheard "Save The Passengers" from across the room, he immediately recalled the iconic line from Heroes.
  19. Michelle Williams is quite the get for this show though she did recently foray in reality TV so this isn't too far of a fetch. Sad to see her go over ThingaMaJig, who was definitely the weaker performer. Ken can still go anytime now and Nicole too (uggh to that whole "Thing and Nicole thing" crap). Had to laugh at Victoria Beckham as a final guess. No way she'd slum on this show...LOL.
  20. Yup. If I wasn't already on the Patti train wagon, that little subtle clue would've definitely sealed the deal.
  21. I first saw Bashir Salahuddin on the Netflix series Glow as the referee / boyfriend of one of the lady wrestlers. He reminds me of Malik Yoba of New York Undercover fame.
  22. Reggie Hayes went through some things in life since Girlfriends ended. So I'm glad he was able to make an appearance. I mostly was watching this episode for the Girlfriends references.... loved Toni's comment on how she's glad Ruby isn't her mother (when of course Ruby was Toni's Mom on Girlfriends), and then Maya referencing the divorce plotline that happened on the old series, and of course all four of them slo-mo posing like in the Girlfriends credits. It was great seeing them all together again and I hope they occasionally return.
  23. I'm geeked out about the October 8th episode of Black-ish. Apparently it's a Girlfriends reunion. I assume they may be playing different characters but cool to see the cast back though hopefully Big Willie makes an appearance too.
  24. I'm watching this pretty late on Netflix as well....wrapping up on this season and then I'll go into Season 9. I couldn't help to think when Ford mentioning "asking around" about Fiona that she should've broke into song and sang "Don't Ask My Neighbor" from the Emotions. But then it's not really a serious relationship so scratch that. That's an incredibly creepy thing to admit to. That would've had me running for the hills. That Kassidi girl is bad news. Carl too needs to run for the hills. I'm not really feeling Ian's storyline and Lip needs to find a less destructive way of expressing his emotions.
  25. Berto Colon who plays Cesar, Alainna's drug dealer boyfriend, got his start as a reality TV contestant on the short lived Viva Hollywood on VH1 in the mid 2000s. He competed against 11 other unknown actors for a role on a telenovela series and was the ultimate winner.
