  1. I thought the finale was very well done. It was great to see Kathy, Dan and Kris all there. The narrative neatly wove the case into what finally led Joe to retire several years later. My heart melted to see Joe the bus driver in the reenactment scene. I look forward to what he and ID will be collaborating on next.
  2. It strikes me as surreal that at the news of Kobe Bryant's unexpected death today that he was a guest on the show just shy of a year ago. It was on that show (and he was at the table during the entire episode) that another sudden death was announced...that of Kristoff St. John. It just makes me shiver.

    The NBA

Trust me, that's been on my mind as well. I've never forgotten what happened in 2003. That's why I was never a big fan of his. At best, he cheated on his wife. At worst, he was a rapist. Still, what happened is a tragedy - especially for the two little girls who were aboard. All my love and prayers go out to the families of those who died. 😢💔
  4. John Karlen, of Dark Shadows and Cagney & Lacey fame: https://www.google.com/amp/s/heavy.com/entertainment/2020/01/john-karlen-dead/amp/
  5. From one Clevelander to another...AMEN!!!
  6. Yes, and they stayed friends to the end. He was often her escort to awards shows and the like.
  7. RIP John Karlen, aka Harvey Lacey. The news was verified by the Dark Shadows Fan Club and several DS cast members. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amarketnews.com/2020/01/23/john-karlen-death-obituary-abc-serial-dark/amp/
  8. I'm shocked that no one here has started calling this team the Houston Asterisks yet. I agree - they should have to forfeit the title and turn in the trophy, rings, etc.
  9. I've been to games in Cleveland in April several times, and none of those times it was warm. Ironically, two of those games had the Indians playing the Blue Jays. 😎
  10. I have such fond memories of watching Alex's "Concentration" as a kid with my grandma. ❤
  11. Upon the passing of Caroll Spinney, I recommend his 2003 memoir. It goes into his childhood, how he got into puppetry at age 12, how he met Jim Henson and got Sesame Street, how he found lasting love as a divorced father of small children and much more. ❤
  12. And of course, it's preempted here in the East because of the impeachment hearings (how long are those going to go on, anyway?). Hopefully, today's episode will be put On Demand.
  13. No one could have voiced Louis the sadistic French Chef in The Little Mermaid better than Rene. He was perfect in a song ("Les Poissons") that had absolutely nothing to do with the main plot. 30 (!!!) years later, it still makes me laugh. ❤
  14. Beautiful. On the lighter side, Big Bird's cameo in The Muppet Movie (1979):
  15. I really can't add anything else to what has already been said about Caroll Spinney. What a talent. In fact, the very first movie I saw in the theatre was Sesame Street: Follow That Bird. My beloved grandma took me to see it way back in 1985. As an adult, I read his excellent memoir. Everyone should read it. As for Rene Auberjonois, he was the embodiment of a character actor. One of my favorite roles of his was that of a jewel thief who was also a master of disguises in an episode of Starsky & Hutch. May they both RIP. 😢❤
  16. So would I. Pass the popcorn. 🍿
  17. Here's Pat Richardson again on The Doctors, March 1979:
  18. This isn't an autobiography, but more a collection of behind the scenes stories of how some of the most famous records in pop history were made. The late Mr. Ramone also went into great detail about what a music producer's job entails - and how to deal with egos of famous musicians. I recommend it to fans of pop and musicals from the 1960s on, and especially fans of Billy Joel and Paul Simon (whose work he is probably best known for).
  19. The resemblance is eerie, isn't it? 😉
  20. I've read her memoir, too, and it was a very riveting read. My four-year-old nephew loves to dance to "Man! I Feel Like a Woman". ☺ As far as Marie, I think she's doing fine. I think a lot of the criticism has to do with how different her persona is from OG Sara's.
  21. USA ran a Sunday SVU marathon of Hudson University episodes once. 😂
  22. Yup!! The following year, Earl Hindman joined the original cast of the brand-new soap, Ryan's Hope, and stayed for most of its 13 1/2 year run. A couple of years after RH was cancelled, he became Wilson and the rest is history!! 😎
