  1. If we can get hold of some Jensen DNA, maybe we can clone him?
  2. Didn't Dargon (or whatever) say they wanted to destroy earth and everything else? What's left to rule? What we want is a complex, menacing big bad. But Dabb seems committed for some damn reason. Lucifer is way more powerful than Sam and Dean - it's going to be the same ol' thing, why doesn't he just kill them? Maybe he'll discover what it feels like to experience love (for Jack) and be all redeemed and stuff. Barf!
  3. Ain't that the truth!! But what if a monster doesn't deserve to be killed? What if a monster isn't responsible for his/her actions? What if the monster's actions are justified, or at the very least excusable? High functioning monsters are way more intriguing anyways and always present more interesting dilemmas for Sam and Dean. Do you kill a monster because it's a monster? They've dabbled with this dilemma quite a bit (Dean killing Amy, Benny, etc.). A monster cure could be interesting. Did it work? Can a monster be cured? It could possibly open another story arc avenue for writers. It's so odd, tho. Your soul is your conscience surely? We are dangerous without a conscience and would have wiped ourselves out back in cave man times. Our conscience is what separates us and it's located in the thinking brain. The heart is just a pump. The stomach (where the black smoke goes after entering the mouth and where they burrow for souls) is a food processing muscle. Anyway, I've strayed off topic and will shut up, Dr. Phil.
  4. How would one share a story they've written that's in Microsoft Word?
  5. It was difficult and uncomfortable to watch - this is what I want - to be invested and moved. I enjoyed this episode. Which is all I ask from my TV
  6. Hallelujah!! I tried to say something like this a couple of weeks ago, but you've put it way more succinctly than I ever could. Plus - stop spoon feeding the plot. Let us wonder or speculate before you hit us with anvils, parallels, or scenes filled with exposition. I don't need the bad guy's life history or aspirations.
  7. The writers are concocting as we speak. They have to be running into problems with Lucifer. As everyone has pointed out, Crowley used people to his own advantage so kept them alive, which made him easier to write. Lucifer is pure evil (supposedly), all-powerful, and has zero use for S&D or anyone. Luci's weak spot will be Jack, I guess. But I'm not enamoured with storyline in the least, I wouldn't want to be in the writers' shoes. They've written themselves into a corner with no door out. I'm not a fan of the eye thing. It's simply a tactic to tell the audience 'this is a demon'. And why does demon smoke enter through the mouth and not the windows to our soul ... the eyes? I don't even understand why they rummage about in someone's abdomen (without even lifting shirt) looking for a soul. Wouldn't the soul be located in the brain?
  8. I find the comment "you son of a bitch" way more offensive than say fuck or shit. It's a derogatory slight at someone's mother. I'm from the UK and now living in Canada, both countries a lot more lax than the US in this regard. I think it's time for networks to loosen up. The beeping alone is way more annoying. Like we don't know what they're saying However I don't want f bombs all over the place. Cable goes overboard Oooooo A six episode Supernatural season on Netflix or whatever would be like the best thing since sliced bread
  9. You can see heads chopped off, blood and guts spurting everywhere, etc., but warrior Dean must say "I didn't poop for a week" on network TV. It's friggin' freaking nuts. Why can you swear on cable but not on network? Beeping is way more annoying (although funny in Ghostbusters).
  10. I only watch this intermittently and don't really know who everyone is... but why do they all flap their arms about when they talk. And they're all pretty scary and intense about everything. I don't think I'd want to be a friend to any of them. The woman that just got married looks like she'll kill the hubby if he steps out of line. Anyway, glad I'm not stinking rich I guess.
  11. This is so true and the reason I stopped with these polls. Beauty and the Beast kept winning even after the show was cancelled. I do take the time to multiple vote in the People's Choice Awards simply because it gets up their noses that shows like Supernatural win. They only want National Enquirer type celebrities on their TV award show.
  12. Season 12 - light bulb over Dabb's head lit up and we got BMOL. Season 13 - same light bulb but now it's Sprout (or whatever we've named it). So Sprout & Dad are probably the focus (till Christmas anyway). MP is a good actor. I don't think he's the shenanigans type, tho. Has he ever been in a gag reel segment?
  13. I get why John was the way he was. They didn't even have to bonk me over the head with anvils. It was good writing and little tidbits here and there and I grew to know John. He was human complete with all the faults we humans are lumbered with. Complex conflicted characters. There needs to be a sign on the writers' room wall. No one is all good or all twirly mustache bad. Supernatural isn't James Blond. I want to see John Winchester in a scene in the final episode of the season. - and they'd better not whitewash him! I want him ornery as ever. Dean and Sam are the fruit of his loins - they inherited his guts and intrepidity, it's what 's kept them alive. John and Mary were a right pair!! But I'd take John over Mary any day. Hope she dies.
  14. I wonder.... do they write in an actual writers' room over the summer hiatus? This is the only time they network I think. Whatever we get in episodes up to Christmas break hasn't been tested in the ratings/audience waters yet. So they're flying blind. This was obvious in season 8's - Samelia versus Purgatory. Samelia was dropped like a hot tamale once reaction came in. (Benny got invited to conventions, Amelia was never mentioned ever again.) I hope they drink water and eat salads in that writing room. No smoking funny stuff. This could be the final season dammit!
  15. I watched both panels last night - the Js are talking end game out loud. There's always been joking about the show going on forever, but not this time. I'll bet they've put their managers on alert and preparing themselves for something they haven't done in a long while - audition. This time next year both could be out of work. Although it'd be a shame not to take it to 300. I think the show's owed that - but this is business and if s13 ratings continue to plummet well..... A lot of what's wrong - for me anyway - with A plots and B plots is the editing. Lots of shows are guilty of this... they break away to B plot just when A plot is getting juicy. I guess they think it's suspenseful - it's not, it's annoying. I don't know which was the A or B plot in the penultimate episode but I didn't appreciate Dean's heartfelt "I hate you" scene being constantly interrupted by the Hunters vs. BMOL gunfight. The editing is sometimes as guilty as the writing.
  16. The only reason I watch. It all falls flat when they're not onscreen. You can't buy chemistry, whoever signed up these two actors deserves a gold star. They work. Their complex relationship works... despite some contrived writing. It's a two man show. Trying to wedge in other characters hasn't really worked... well, maybe Cas. Without S&D front and centre everything crumbles. Only two pillars holding this show up. If it had been presented as an ensemble in the beginning - wouldn't have made it to season 5 in my opinion. An now the Js have families and want time off.
  17. Receding hairlines - above writing and acting - would have been the death knoll for this show. :)
  18. I think this is true. I'm preparing myself... Although I complain a lot, I'm going to miss this show. I've never ever been hooked on anything before in my life, not a movie, TV show, actor or rock star. (I'm pretty boring). Jensen hooked me in. He'd better find another gig quick. I don't like withdrawal. :(
  19. You may be right, of course. But I still think DD was a hybrid. If he was a demon - he wasn't your average run of the mill variety. He was independent thinking and sought out pleasures of the human flesh. Hell would have been way more fun with Demon Dean in charge of things.
  20. Are there good YouTube videos up already for Phoenix? Fans are awesome. I'm off to check...
  21. I think the PTB are looking for a spinout. Supernatural has been very profitable, but it's ending. Maybe it's just me - but the fact they were testing out spinoffs seemed obvious this past season. Sam & Dean were guest stars in their own show. The PTB were throwing spaghetti plotlines at the wall to see if anything stuck - nothing did. BMOL, US hunters unite, Mary hunter extraordinaire, etc. They were trying them out. We hardly saw Jodi and co., but it's no secret the fans love Jodi so Wayward Daughters is probably be considered. The only spinoff that could work is 'Castiel'. He's got a huge following and there's stories there. However, IMO Misha's not strong enough acting-wise to carry a show. The ONE spinoff I'd love to watch - is from Dean's birth onwards. Mary makes that deal and hunts in secret, John oblivious. Then Sam is born, Mary forgets deal, dies and John goes rabid and hunts with his children in tow. If they could ever find the actors (they can't) this is the story I'd like to be told. It's absolutely fascinating.
  22. A friend loaned me the Game of Thrones DVDs and I've seen up to season 3. Honestly, I was confused most of the time. But luckily the DVD came with an option where one could set it so that when a character came on screen a little box opened and told you who the character was and who he/she was related to. It was just too full of people (with weird names) for my liking. I enjoy simpler fare. I really enjoyed Big Little Lies and Stranger Things...I'm loving The Handmaid's Tale, also enjoying Lucifer. On another note - I don't know if this is the right thread... but anyway, kudos to all posters here. Since IMDb message boards went down I've landed here. It's a pleasant place, no venomous trolls, we all have our differing opinions and state them respectfully. But I'd mostly like to compliment everyone here on the extent of their knowledge about the show. You guys blow me away sometimes!!
  23. I don't know how much time they'll spend in the AU, but the realm would have a variety of landscapes I'd think. Don't have to be expensive. The backdrop in the finale was a green screen desolate land. But there could be areas of fields, forests, streams, maybe even cities, etc. Bobby's gotta eat and drink and buy headscarves. They just de-saturate for effect. The AU is a place where we all exist, but life got different. I'd never have met my hubby if I didn't go to that dance... instead I stayed home and met some abusive guy who knocked me about so I murdered him. But I'm overthinking of course. I doubt they'll give it more than one episode. I've only seen the finale once and maybe wasn't paying attention. I thought it was AU Cas that was killed.??
  24. I know right? I've got to stop allowing others to sway me. I shed tears (still do) when Dean says he's there for Sam, if Sam's in there somewhere he'll know Dean is there for him. And the song as Dean pulls into Stull Cemetry. Great stuff we don't see anymore. But, yeah, the internet hates Swan Song.
