  1. At @SueB - I guess when I said 'high note' I kind of meant - happy family who always got along. Crew's been around for eons, actors are best friends, family atmosphere on set...that kind of thing. Unless writers get personality implants and maybe a whiteboard in the writers' room (or even a writers' room) I don't see the series Supernatural going out with much of a bang. Although that final episode will be something
  2. I would imagine thousands of actors have had issue with scripts or the journey of their character. And actors lose 'regular' status all the time. Acting is a crap shoot.. no guarantees. You're at the whim of the PTB. But I think we're now in a climate where writers are being held way more accountable, criticized and even winning 'Worst Monster on CW' polls - social media and all that stuff. So MS feels free to vent, I guess. There should be a writers' panel at Creation. (They'd have to check audience pockets for rotten tomatoes, tho)
  3. I just don't like that cracks are appearing. The end is nigh for Supernatural and I want it to go out on a high note.
  4. Misha once made movie - Stonehenge Apocalypse - he's the lead and actually dressed like Dean in the movie. I live in Canada and, honestly, I swear it's on one channel or another at least every couple of months. He must make a fortune from the royalties... lol. But yeah - it's a cool game. The actress portraying Lucifer's mum (a much more interesting Lucifer than the one we've got!) is the same actress from an earlier episode Roadkill.
  5. Ty crops up all the time on shows shot in Canada. Sometimes a main character, sometimes a wee small role. It's actually fun making the 'Supernatural' connections. 'Lisa' is the star of the show 'Private Eyes' (I think it's Canadian) and the actress has done tons of TV commercials. The actress playing 'Kelly' is all over the place on Canadian TV. It's good for the ol' memory. I recognize a face and then have to check back which episode he/she was in. The Vancouver acting pool must be fairly small. These actors are used over and over again - small roles, big roles, TV ads, etc.
  6. The only thing, tho, is that it's coming across as sour grapes because he was demoted or whatever. I'm hoping he'll do an interview or article or something and maybe explain his position to fans. He's not really handling it well in my opinion. It does look a bit like TPTB chose the other Mark over him for season 13 and he got pissed and said take this job.... Both Marks are good strong actors. I get the impression they both have strong personalities too. Meanwhile the Js enjoy summer in Austin. I think you only have one more season to go, boys....
  7. Not a million names, but every once in a while a throwback mention to an old acquaintance or occurrence. Would be nice, I think. There's a 12 year history swept under that carpet. I think this batch of writers write to the casual viewer anyway. I personally would prefer they didn't include so many pop culture references. Seems really cool at the time but really dates and jumps you out while watching early seasons. I can't think of an example right no
  8. I don't think the writers realize (or care) how much this would mean to fans. It's probably too much bother for them to check back to earlier characters/events.
  9. I think Misha and Vickie are expecting another baby. Maybe they want to keep it quiet. That's my thought anyway.
  10. These two attractive tall handsome guys oozing animal sexuality and manly mettle, outfitted in perfectly tailored suits the cloth of which strains against hard muscle - stroll into a room/hospital/whatever and flash their FBI ........ and no one reacts? (or faints). It gets me every time. No one ever comments... not ever. Not once (unless they're drooling cougars). It's just not realistic. ?
  11. I'm guessing the main reason is that the actor playing the role is not in every episode so how to explain their absence for bunker scenes. But this could easily be managed with writing. Same thing as 'have you heard from mom/Cas/whoever?' Just have Sam or Dean remark as if they've just left the room of the character or he/she's still sleeping or whatever. The bunker (despite it's revolving front door) is presented as a safe haven and apparently has many bedrooms (although I personally couldn't sleep in a windowless room) The boys often send vulnerable people off into the world - we see them leaving on a bus, taxi or whatever. Sometimes they dump them at hospitals.
  12. Hopefully ... subtle, horrific and splendid. With not one parallel or anvil to be found anywhere. Is this actor any good, I wonder?
  13. I think you'll be walking. Andrew seems to prefer exposition heavy rather than dialogue driven. It's TELL rather than SHOW. I've had no clue how people feel about each other or their motivations all season. The writers are back in court as we speak. I'm hoping they have some awareness of where they went wrong last season. Lots of disappointing reviews our there, even Alice - I think she's even done with the show. I tweeted her article links to Andrew several times as I felt she made good points.
  14. Yeah, it's Dean on a weekend bender. Dean being a demon should have been tragic - not a joke. It could've been must see TV. That chase through the red-lit bunker with a hammer ........ EPIC!! Dean still having remnants of demon in him is enticing for me. I think at this late stage the PTB could take a chance and stop being so safe and predictable and cartoonish. Ratings have dropped and the show moved to 8pm is the result.
  15. Well, what struck me about that tweet was the fact that JM at that time didn't seem aware of MS's fury. He was just doing the usual lip service to fans because he was without a clue. (He is in charge of budget, I think??). Mark soon put him to rights.
  16. Bottom line - MS is pissed and won't be back. Will he actually attend the Phoenix Convention? If he does, well... for one thing, I think he'll get a standing ovation. And then a barrage of questions unless asking is verboten. I'll miss him drumming with Louden Swain. Both Marks are accomplished versatile actors, but they got rid of the wrong Mark and the wrong character in this instance. Crowley's just more entertaining. And now there's this other Lucifer on another network who's killing it... It's like Lucifer overload. Anyway, let's hope the adventures of Luci & Son works and the series is somehow rejuvenated.
  17. Mark will get another gig, no problemo. They're maybe running with the Luci & Son story with no room for Crowley (although I think Crowley would have fitted in really well) and demoted Mark to semi-regular (pay drop). I just hope Mark hopping on one foot was filmed before the kerfuffle. I'd hate to think they made his character do that just for spite. I've always been so proud that the set is a 'family'. Maybe not so much now.
  18. I'm a Dean fan and I would have enjoyed it immensely. The show goes to the edge but never jumps off. You have to knock socks off in today's world of television and playing it safe and not taking risks usually transfers to ratings decline. 'Bland and lame' is how I'd describe season 12. A half and half Dean? Mind tickling. How delicious. They could have run with it for a few episodes at least. We'd never really know which Dean we were getting and Sam frantic & confused, trying to complete the cure. What an entertaining idea! (I think I feel a fanfiction coming on.) Of course Dean would suffer even more guilt, but Jensen's so brilliant at that too. The PTB should be visiting this site for ideas. We're brimming over with them. The writers (who I agree never network or read each other's scripts) seem to have misplaced their imaginations and sense of adventure.
  19. Thanks for responses. After watching an episode I lie in bed thinking about it all. It has to be almost impossible to oppress a once free society presumably overnight. I don't know how it could be done to be honest. Like keeping a lid on a pot of boiling water. But the world is strange place and people can be easily brainwashed.
  20. Money or script or both. I think they went with the other Mark as regular and demoted Mark S so he said take the job and shove it. It's not like he's had a compelling storyline or anything ? I don't like this behind the scenes animosity, tho. Mark always spoke so fondly of the show and how it was like family. I wonder where Ruth sits in all this?
  21. I guess instead of 'small' maybe more 'personal' quests. The Levi's were affecting all the countries of the planet, angels were falling and inhabiting human vessels ... yet we only saw Sam and Dean's tiny corner of the world. I mean... is tractor angel still riding that tractor to save them? Earlier stories were 'big' in terms of celestial but they were also often up close and personal. I guess Amara was that too, and I'm not explaining myself well. But that's what I'm trying to say. A 13 year old show has to be difficult to write for. I do appreciate that. Everyone's died, it's all 'been there, done that'. And I agree they need to dig up some new more intriguing monsters to feature. Geez there's got to be a shitload of them in American lore alone. Writers - get me excited again. You've got the actors, you've got the Pandora's box of supernatural waiting to be opened. Season 13 may be it.
  22. I can't get rid of this quote thingy. Anyway, I'm gagging for the gag reel. There HAS to be more with Jensen on the mechanical bull.
  23. I don't know if this is the thread to post this. I'm only just getting around to watching the JIB8 panels. The panel with Jensen & Misha got me wondering if Misha and Vicki (I think that's his wife's name) are expecting. Misha talks about his kids and Jensen says something like 'have you told them? This is a great segue' Misha seems puzzled, then Jensen whispers and Misha says 'no, no, no!!' and seems panicked. Jensen then says Jared would have blurted it out. My mind went straight to - Misha's having another baby. Hope so. It's good news for him. Of course, I could be completely wrong (It's happened before). :)
  24. I can appreciate their dilemma. Demons and angels used to be something. We moved to the edge of the sofa when they came on screen. They could make Sam and Dean stick to a wall with a wave of a hand. Now they walk about in suits with clipboards and, for some odd reason, remain corporeal while in heaven or hell (or wherever Crowley's dingy bunker is located). My head canon in terms of demons is that the longer they're topside the more feeble they become. (It's similar to TWD zombies - so scary at first, now they're swatted away like flies). And they went too big with the Leviathans' soylent green thing ,then we had falling angels, dying suns and the like. It's too big and too 'global'. I don't want super heroes saving the world; they're all over movies & TV. What makes Supernatural different and special is the 'smallness' of two street smart, blue collar hunters, riding the back roads of America saving us from monsters. I hope they return to that concept in s13. It'll be like coming home.
  25. Bingo! This ^ is where they went wrong. I saw it mentioned in so many reviews of the season - don't let your audience know more than your heroes. Otherwise they appear ineffective and foolish. This ^ is how the BMOL should have been played out. It would have made the season so much more entertaining and way less frustrating. Subtlety is not Andrew's middle name unfortunately. It's all parallels, anvils, and shock and awe with no follow through. Edit to Add: I'm reminded of the episode where Dean befriended the Siren. Andrew would have had us aware right away so that Dean = gullible.
