  1. Anyone here Scottish or bike riders? Here's a fun video. Watch till the end. http://kottke.org/16/10/danny-macaskills-wee-day-out
  2. · If they’re not going to do much with the Dean character - then he deserves that seasonal episode (Baby, Regarding Dean) ... and Dean stuck on the side of the road, anxious to get to Sammy who's in dire trouble; tire or engine to be fixed or whatever. That would do it for me. I'd love that. Maybe something like Wrong Turn. And Jensen would have a field day. His lone episodes have been the best of each season IMO. It could be suspenseful and fun. Which is all I ask from this show these days. The days of claustrophobic gritty dark tension are gone. We're never close enough or involved enough to "tension" anymore to be invested. It's all too flighty, skimming along the surface of stories – no one reacts, I never feel the pull to the edge like I used to. Characters are stereotypes, if they start to be relatable ... well, then they're killed off. It's crazy story telling. · I honestly don't think Lucifer is going to possess anyone else. Surely not? It's been done to death. I think they're running with Mark P who'll probably be parked back into the cage at some point and his offspring will join him if evil and reside in heaven if good. I'm not much bothered either way. They'll have to test the waters with Jack and take it from there. Hope the actor is good. · Word must have reached their ears that Mary requires masses of redemption. She can die now - I've read comments like that all over the internet. They took her way into the wrong direction in the attempt to present Mom Super Hunter and now scrambling to do major whitewashing, but I don't think it'll work. The character should be shelved with Jodi & Teens for proposed spinoff. · They’ve introduced the AU – I’m sure the writers are busy writing about that. At least it’s something new ... although I hope they move away from the boring desert landscape. Heaven has lots of heavens, I’d hope the AU has different landscapes one can move through. It wouldn’t have to be expensive. And could possibly do what should have been done with purgatory – i.e. we meet up with past adversaries. · I always look forward to seeing our guys at SDCC after the hiatus famine. They’re relaxed and jovial from R&R. I don’t expect to hear much news, they’re told not to say anything. Those round tables with the bloggers (or whoever they are) are wonderful because they’ve actually watched the show and ask decent questions. I’ve given up on Con questions being anything more than hair conditioners and pranks. · We are but a handful of opinions. People have said season 12 was well received. I never saw that anywhere. But I guess it’s true that Debbie Downers have the loudest voices. Fingers crossed for season 13. We’re getting close the end. One day there won’t be a new episode to opinion about. :::sob:::
  3. Hope so. Maybe the PTB have picked up on the fact that we're not happy with Dean being MIA so much. I mean... he didn't even get to swing Michael's lance. I dunno? Hope so. But previous CC panels I've watched on YouTube - usually you get nothing. Their lips are sealed and Andrew will just waffle. But fingers crossed. :)
  4. How are they supposed to sleep on those beds? No one seemed particularly bothered. Can they sleep in the comfy beds while the owner is awake or is that not allowed?
  5. We never really learn much at ComicCon, tho, do we? It's mostly jokes and larking about. But at least you'll get first dibs at seeing the Gag Reel @SueB It's funny, most summers at IMDb we'd be busy speculating (and getting it all wrong) about the cliffhanger in the finale. But season 12 ended with so much jammed in - it's really anyone's guess what they're going to run with for season 13. Where does one even begin? The one thing we do know - Crowley's toast.
  6. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CANADA!! (The country where Supernatural is filmed). Canada is 150 years old today. It's a wonderful place.
  7. I wonder what the focus for season 13 will be? I'd love to be a fly on the wall of that writing room (if they had a writing room). Devil's offspring is really all they have, isn't it? They could expand the AU concept or do more with Hunters of America unite, but there's not much meat there. Hmmm - it's interesting. Is anyone here going to ComicCon Hall H?
  8. I think we're due a scene where they're fitted for FBI suits, argue over ties and just once could we see the suits hanging from the hook at the back seat. I wasn't keen on Krissy, but I did like her dad. I thought the character was well-acted and written. Krissy was too much over the top. They get way too carried away when presenting females as hunters on this show. It's too much in your face.
  9. This actually fell flat for me. Bobby writing the number as he dies and Frank trying to figure it out. It just didn't seem such a big deal when we find out about the land. I thought it might've been a Levi portal or something. (I think they changed hair stylists. Sam's hair is definitely cleaner and shinier these days).
  10. I never really got why Crowley thought he could team up with Demon Dean and run hell. He watched Dean all those years and never picked up on the fact that Dean doesn't work well with others, especially UNDER someone. Because Crowley was intending to remain King with Dean as good little sidekick. And, anyway, Hell wasn't exactly Dean's favourite place to be was it? It's presented as pretty dire and boring and regimented. Crowley had been on a 6 week pub crawl, doing what Dean wanted, following Dean's desires. Even when he gave Dean an instruction, Dean didn't do it. Crowley was never going to be able to manage Demon Dean. He had cut off more than he could chew. But he never picked up on that fact at the beginning of their summer of love. I thought he was smarter. But love does that, I guess? We always think we can change or control someone. LOL
  11. What's the consensus here on the boys' drinking and driving. Has it ever been brought up for debate? One of my local channels runs Supernatural episodes everyday and inevitably a drinking & driving MADD ad shows up in the middle. Then when the episode resumes we see Sam and Dean driving about with a green cooler full of beer. They stop at the side of the road for a beer. The ONLY time drinking and driving was referenced was during the - of all things - Alcohol Ghost episode when Dean phones Sam at the bar and tells him to get a cab if he's been drinking. Other than that Dean pretty much drives buzzed all the time. I like that the boys drink. I'd drink too if I had their job. They'd top out the breathalyzer, but their systems (especially Dean's) are so immune to alcohol their reflexes, etc. would not be affected I wouldn't think. (Plus Dean gets a new shiny liver whenever he's angelically healed). I'm just a bit surprised it's never criticized or brought up, tho. TV is so very much PC these days.
  12. I was going by what I've read online... articles, etc. Loads of complaints there. If the PTB only read the 'squee' reviews then I'm even more afraid for season 13. I want this show to go out on a high note. Yikes...We were rooting for an 0.6 - that's bad (and sad). I don't think many watch live anymore... and this applies to almost any network TV show. They never seem to know much at ComicCon, tho, plus they're directed not to say anything. Will Mark P, Kim, Brianna and Samantha join J2 and Misha I wonder??
  13. It's always going to be a tub of war when you present two tall handsome hero brothers to a fandom. Everyone's going to pick a brother and defend to the death. Dean was in character this episode. Dean would show up. Dean would tell his brother 'I'm here'. The mystery (for me) is why Kripke and others rarely utilize Jensen's expansive talent. It's obvious he's good. People talk about it in DVD narratives, etc. He spins gold out of the most inane script, we just automatically invest in him and it works. There was a big deal once - Mythic for Dean - and it was true. It's mostly all about Sam. The premise of the show has always been - The Adventures of Sam..... and his Brother. Dean is needed for POV, that's the thing. I'd love a Michael/Dean storyline, but when I think about it... taking Dean away and making him possessed or something else... we will lose POV. Sam doesn't provide POV. I rarely know what Sam is about or even his motives. Hope this makes sense.
  14. This must be THE most debated episode of the whole series. What's the next most debated, I wonder? But this is one instance where I wish I hadn't delved into online posts and criticisms. I was a blubbering snot filled mess the first time I watched Swan Song (during a binge). I cried and loved the next ten repeated viewings too. Then I joined the IMDb message boards and now I can't watch without being miffed. A toy flipping soldier!! I'm assuming Dean's pulpy bruised face was too passé?
  15. Season 12 wasn't received well. I hope Andrew has pulled his writing team together and at least brainstormed a general idea of where they're going for season 13. I'm bracing myself for a lot less Sam and Dean. I'm assuming the Wayward Women will be given a chunk of time. I can live with this - if the writing is at least.... good. A lot rests on this season. Plummeting ratings and mounting criticism will mean we won't get episode 300. I wouldn't want to be in Andrew's shoes right now. When do the boys report for work?
  16. I don't know which topic this post should be posted at... probably here. But I think Dean's legs are just as long as his brothers. If you look hard enough... you can see that where Sam adds inches is in the torso. He has a longer torso. I think if they raced - it would be a tie. Similarly in terms of arms and muscles and stuff. Have you checked out Dean's shoulders lately? ***As a card-carrying Dean girl I felt it necessary to point out the above. ?
  17. I loved both Megs. We saw the first Meg when demons were actually something not swatted away like flies. And Rachel's Meg had loads of snark and personality. I loved the bit where things are perilous and they come across Meg and Dean says "first off... what's with the hair?" It was so great. So Dean! They don't write like that anymore. Love that they invite her to the conventions and she is such a fan favourite.
  18. Talking of Metallica ... have they ever played Enter Sandman on the show? Just the intro alone makes me think of Supernatural every time I hear it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2mJUjBE4U0 Demon Dean and Soulless Sam - who'd win? Who'd comes to their senses first and not hurt the other? Considering the silly questions we're getting at conventions lately - it'd be fun to ask something like this. In terms of saving me. Dean is action man, Sam maybe more reflective. The episode about the born again virgins - where Dean gives that description of the sex act at the group session - I always have to smile at the captives in the basement. They've been there so long one man has literally died from starvation. Dean immediately takes the leadership role, ordering everyone about like he does, but he has them out within a couple of hours. Sam finds him, but it's Dean that gets them out. The brothers can be quite different. It's what makes the relationship TV gold. Dean withdraws and becomes angry when the topic is something he doesn't want to discuss. No one gets close to Dean. But Sam physically withdraws. Maybe stomping off is the wrong description. But Sam goes... usually to find some other companion. He's had a brother all his life and wants someone. Dean is a loaner.
  19. I dunno. I didn't think the main actor was very good. I was on IMDb at the time and the consensus was - how come there's rival monster gangs in Chicago and S&D don't know?? Didn't make any sense. And why does everyone S&D run into immediately want to be a hunter? I wouldn't. The Wayward Show - a lot depends on the initial set up. If it's Jody, Donna and maybe Mary training girls, worrying about girls, girls running off to hunt a dangerous thing on their own, girls falling in love with something that's actually a monster, girls being rescued, etc - it'll be predictable beyond belief. I really don't see any original foundation there for a sustainable series. S&D had a bellyfull of issues right from the jump, plus awesome jump off the screen chemistry. It's sad to be looking down the barrel at the end of the series. They could make episode 300 the final - how many episodes are left at the end of season 13? I don't know what I'm going to do after Supernatural. I've posted about it, thought about it, wrote stories... it's consumed quite a bit of my time. I'll have to take up knitting or find another show now. Hope Jensen finds something quick. I don't like withdrawal. :(
  20. The brothers' sick co-dependency is the most dangerous thing about them. Also the most fascinating and why we (I) watch. It's way more interesting than any TV marriage or flirty detective or medical series. It's the greatest love story of all. That Sam and Dean have major flaws, that they are broken and reckless and headstrong is what drew me in and makes me want to watch. Or used to. They've neutralized our brothers quite a bit over the past few seasons unfortunately and the excitement has been dialed back. It's nice that they're getting along now, the contrived brotherly angst was becoming annoying.... but that they make mistakes, that they (especially Dean) can be daredevils rushing in half cocked without a plan is what's so enjoyable. I'm a Dean girl. It's Dean I'd choose to carry me safely through the valley of the shadow of death. Sam can get sidetracked. He's also more likely to get into a snit and stomp off. Soulless Sam and Demon Dean are an interesting pair. Both were missing souls (which, in my mind, means no conscience for actions). While SS became super hunter with razor focus, DD went on a pub crawl. He maybe enjoyed the kill, but he enjoyed the brawl more. He didn't kill anyone (that we saw) other than sleazy Lester. SS and DD says quite a bit about the brothers' characters - I think, anyway. * I might've gone off topic for this thread?
  21. The new pilot could mean continued employment for Misha. I never viewed him as particularly ambitious, but a steady salary and remaining in the public eye as the character of Castiel will help fund his various charities. There's no reason Castiel cannot transfer from Supernatural to Wayward Sisters and work a few episodes a season as he does now. It's a win for for Misha if the series takes off. Come to think of it, they probably will rely on a number of crossover characters (that haven't been killed off). Plus there's a well-oiled crew who'll be happy to transfer over to the new show no doubt.
  22. I'll eat my hat if Supernatural doesn't make it to episode 300. However, I was hoping this epic series would go out with the mind blowing BANG worthy of its awesome cast and crew. However, they have this sparkly new toy to play with now. :(
  23. This ^ is depressing, but probably what's going to happen. No Sam and Dean action - just angsty teens who are somehow brilliant hunters and it will really get up my nose if the angsty teens save Sam & Dean!!!
