  1. But Dean wasn't a fully fledged evil demon, was he? He died, sure, but he was revived as a human with a twisted soul thanks to the MOC. It made sense that DD would seek what to him were the pleasures of life - Beer, Brawls, Barmaids and apparently... karaoke. If it wasn't for the looming 200th episode, we might've seen DD branch out of the bars into the world and struggle with growing inner darkness vs human morality. A real tour de force for an actor like Jensen Ackles. But the singing episode came along and it all had to end.
  2. When I binged the series - I was totally spellbound by Swan Song. I thought it was amazing. Then I found IMDb message boards. It's funny, after reading all the critical comments there and then re-watching the episode a few times I wondered how I ever liked it so much in the first place. ... And that green plastic toy ... ugh. I mean, really!!! - how would that jolt Lucifer/Sam's intent on bashing in Dean's face? I'm sure Dean never played toy soldiers with Sam ever! No Sam played with those toys alone. They probably cleaned guns and sharpened knives in that back seat as dad drove them from one no-tell motel to the next. **Maybe I'd be more content if I didn't visit message boards? ?
  3. It's hard to explain. It's really the ups & downs of a reluctant vampire slayer and her motley crew of friends. Good, bad and ugly episodes for sure but you get tangled up with these characters - especially when Spike comes on the scene. The characters are well written IMO
  4. Well, any Vancouver skyline with the colour ashed out (a la purgatory) could work. Also - AU characters might spill out into OUR world. That could be fun and interesting. And AU -Sam and AU-Dean don't have to be OUR Sam and Dean Winchester. Just reasonable facsimiles. Hunters, brothers, saddled with their own family shit. We could run into an AU Cas too. His backstory is totally different and he wears leather and denim., but wings gone and he helps out AU Sam and Dean. Same but different. Honestly - if they do run with an AU storyline for a few episodes - they're not going to dig deep into 'what abouts' like we're doing here.
  5. Sorry Off Topic. HOME. This episode of X-files was just on TV yesterday afternoon. I've never ever watched X-files before. It was creepy to the extreme. When they're creeping through the dark house of the inbreeders - honestly my hairs stood up all over the place. This used to happen in earlier episodes of Supernatural... now not so much. Suspense and tension has kind of gone out the window. Also - to those that have never watch Buffy. I say do it. Get past the outfits, clunky computers and no cell phones. You could also start in season 2. But it's good, especially in terms of character relationships and development that draws you right in, which is an area where I feel Supernatural is lacking (lately).
  6. I'd LOVE to see Jensen and Tatiana in something together. Tatiana brilliantly portrays all those characters in the same show... it's just BRILLIANT how she does it. And she's so humble and laid back in interviews. I'd love to see them together. It would work well, and I know they'd get along brilliantly.
  7. An AU storyline is interesting ... and fresh. But I don't know how these writers will be able to keep things straight. They can't even handle simple canon from this world. Remembering the complexities of who wouldn't know who, or didn't do what, etc., will flummox them . Also - folks would have to pop in and out of the AU for MOTWs wouldn't they? MOTWs are awkward sometimes and slotted in when something big has gone down and the boys take off to a miscellaneous job for some damn reason But I do like the idea of an AU arc for season 13. More interesting than the usual suspects (Jack and Dad)
  8. I'd like both a Christmas and a Halloween episode for season 13. But not holding out much hope. Sam's nail removal was way more cringe worthy than all of Lady Tony's tortures.
  9. I wish they hadn't killed off Henry Winchester. There was a story to be told there ( a way more interesting one than the cartoonish BMOL). I don't know if the actor had another gig - but he goes to Supernatural conventions all the time. The PTB don't seem to realize when they have an intriguing character on their hands. For some reason they think Lucifer is ratings gold.
  10. Off topic but I really enjoyed BLL too. Great writing. Great acting. Hope it returns. I do agree, tho, that I get the impression that (although not a prude in any sense) Jensen's not keen on sex and romance roles.
  11. I don't watch a lot of TV series - I find them too predictable, but mostly because acting is poor. People stand together having a conversation (whether medical, police or whatever show) and I think - do they REALLY think people talk to each other like that? It's all so affected and false. Then I watch Jensen. I remember reading a fan account, she was with a bunch of fans watching some street shooting in Vancouver. She said something like "... and then Jensen became Dean". Her simple words, buried in all the fan gushing, always stuck in my mind. Because Jensen does step into Dean's boots. He IS Dean... complete with Dean's history, memories and foibles. Every expression is reactive and Dean-like. The guy's so talented. :)
  12. With that talent (and that bone structure) Jensen's career can take him right into old age. He's got years left as leading man status. I, personally, hope he doesn't go into a super hero movie after Supernatural. They take ages to film and he'd be on screen about 15 minutes - and if they put a mask on him... well, I'll riot in the streets. I'd rather he move to a Netflix series or HBO series or something like that where his acting talent can be showcased. But that's just me. Not a fan of super hero and special effects films. I am convinced Jensen's name appears at the top of many casting directors' lists. They're waiting for Supernatural to die.
  13. Death and he's pissed at Dean. That would be fun to watch.
  14. I'm done with Lucifer, angels, demons and especially heaven and hell. Let's move on....
  15. Seasons 11 & 12 have been THE worst (imo). I don't want to delve into which brother did this or that or who got the most kills. Both seasons were dull as dishwater (imo). I was never really engaged in anything that was going on on my TV screen. I often found myself looking for things like Jensen's scar on his chin or which episode I'd seen that shirt before, or why Jensen's jackets often seem too small and short in the arms. S12 episodes are on my PVR and I haven't even bothered to re-watch any of them ('cept Regarding Dean) and I haven't even removed the cellophane from season 11 DVD. The writers are back as we speak. Unless they've been under a rock they must be aware of rising complaints - not enough badass S&D, character deaths now blasé , etc. etc. I don't know anyone that's enthused about the son storyline. Jack's going to start off hinting evil (usual shock and awe) then fizzle to boring (a la Amara). He'll disappear for episodes without mention. The AU could be interesting, but the writers rarely stick to canon so it'll be all over the place. I'll watch for Jensen, I guess. But my expectations are really low.
  16. I wouldn't have called you names. I enjoyed all the ups and downs of the Spike/Buffy relationship. And I cried for Spike. Complex, twisted relationships are the meat and gravy of the TV series industry.
  17. I just love how, not just protective but empathetic Jensen is about his character. The writer/director/showrunner would have him prancing off down to the depths of hell like it's a walk in the park. OK, Jensen, ACTION..so walk down the steps. Wait, why are you hesitating? We're on a time clock here. What? Dean went to hell before? oh and he's re-living the emotion, he's remembering? Ok, good work, ... that's a wrap. Lunch!!!
  18. No more heaven and hell. No more demons and angels. I cant tell the difference anyway and they're all dull as dishwater.
  19. I just want the usual stuff, like motivations I understand and more conversations and less exposition. And can we have a whole season where the boys are not knocked out and tied up (with rope that always looks so loose) while the bad guy tells them his/her life history. And less FBI interview scenes. This is lazy writing style to info dump even the Js must be bored doing this over and over again. Like others - I'd rather enjoy a simple episode... A Day in the Life of Sam and Dean that sort of thing. It would also be cool to see Dean fixing up Baby or trying to order parts (does he get them from Bobby's scrapyard or did it burn?) Some scenes or mention of Dean fixing Baby and how about that garage? Would they take another car for a ride and it's possessed or something? Weird things happen at one of the no-tell motels (did anyone see the movie Vacancy?) that type of thing. Or Dean is hexed or whatever and finds he actually CAN sing and gives a concert before the spell wears off. I can think of a zillion ideas for MOTWs. In terms of the ongoing seasonal arc. Well, get rid of Luci & Son for starters. I have zero interest. Maybe Death returns and he's pissed. Or more of the AU - although that could get complicated and these writers are not good with complicated. Everyone has some great ideas. I just wish the PTB read this site.
  20. I am aghast! I need a cup of tea...
  21. I'm glad you are enjoying the show Jakes. I hate that I feel this jaded and cynical about a show I once loved. I've always defended Supernatural. I've been a rabid fan since 2012. But seasons 11 and 12 were the worst. I blame the uninspired writing with SLs that blast onto the screen and then fizzle and go nowhere.
  22. lol I think it would be boring to watch. But that's just me. I'm the one that wants the bunker blown to bits.
  23. This is my sense too. Actually I thought it blatantly obvious and one of the reasons season 12 was so bland. The show is in its December, and Dabb has been tasked with finding another hit. Let's face it, Season 12 wasn't even about the Winchesters most of the time. If this ^ is what Dabb has in mind for the spin-off, I hope he doesn't incorporate the idea or it'll be the death of season 13. Remember Buffy and the Potentials season 7?
  24. I know that's a joke, but it made me so sad. Valium Dean - an apt description of the watered down Dean we got last season - when he was actually on screen. ::sob:: It's sad enough that angels and demons walk about in business suits. I don't think the word 'organized hunters' belongs anywhere in this series. I hope they don't move in this direction.
  25. That old adage 'united we stand, divided we fall' doesn't work for me in this instance. I want the Winchesters free agents, rebels riding the open road, using their own wits - because it's sexy and exciting. Nothing slows action like organization and management. They've always hinted at an underground belly of hunters, kind of sharing - but not too much. So there's that. And that should be all. The scenes of a handful of hunters raiding the BMOL secret headquarters were laugh out loud lame. I don't want more. If this is what the PTB have in mind for season 13, then they're making a mistake (IMO of course). Dean and Sam work alone and unsupervised. Dean would never behave anyway...
