S08.E20: Reunion Part 2
Pondlass1 replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
It was boring. I was looking forward to the second part only because I expected them to change out of their flashy stupid uncomfortable outfits into some other even more stupid and uncomfortable outfits. The clothes and hairstyles and coloured contacts should be changed up for each segment. Otherwise what is there to watch for? -
Could be a whole University course. LOL

S02.E01: June / S02.E02: Unwomen
Pondlass1 replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in The Handmaid's Tale
I couldn't sleep for thinking about the two episodes I just watched. The scary part is how quickly humanity can lose its ... well, humanity. Would we really give up an enlightened civilization earned over hundreds of years so quickly and easily. There's always a small percentage of psychopaths, but I like to think that the majority of us would balk against cruelty to our fellow man. Of course there's the Nazis, and other examples. But I still maintain (hope?) it couldn't happen to a broadminded population with access to worldwide social media. I'm a Canadian. Maybe we're a bit soft. But I tend to think there's good in everyone. Why would anyone chose to enforce such a miserable existence on a population when everyone's had it so good and the future only looks brighter. It doesn't make sense. We only get one stab at life. Why would anyone want make things worse instead of better? -
If Jensen's there I will swill back glasses of beer and even eat those icky red cockroach thingies. He really needs to send us an itinerary of the days he'll definitely be in attendance so we can coordinate plans. ;) *Actually I'd love to visit Texas some day.

0.4 and 1.48 Everyone went to see the new Marvel film I guess.

I doubt JJ can mention birth control without a fire storm. But it's the guy that needs to get fixed for good. I don't live in the States. But dig deep in your pockets people. Your taxes are paying to raise these children, mom was grinning from ear to ear she knows she'll be well looked after by the State - and Mr. Fertile will most likely to continue breeding with all and sundry and without commitment. I do feel sad for these children who really don't have much of a chance to do anything but continue the cycle of welfare and low education. This ^ is really becoming a thing these days.

This was a drag for me. Why did they have to waste a whole episode getting Gabe to agree to help? It could have been done in 15 minutes. I'm not a big fan of Richard's. His acting is basic at best and his directing style usually copies someone else's. I got a bit caught up watching the snot appearing and disappearing from Osric's nostrils that I missed what he said or why he was so agitated. I missed Mark's catch phrase but I think they're being mean in using it. Mark had t-shirts printed (or something). He is involved in the Type 1 Diabetes fundraising. It was wrong. What a snub to Mark! I remain impressed with Alex. He easily won those apocalypse scenes with Mother Mary. I'm sure Samantha has her talents, but her acting style reminds me of the actress who portrays Madison in the awful Fear TWD. The expression doesn't match the words coming out of her mouth. The problem here is that TPTB haven't given us any reason or even allowed the time to become invested in anything or anyone. We're supposed to care (I guess?) but we don't (or *I* don't). I care about Sam and Dean - two character who continue (even after 13 years) to fascinate and capture my attention. And it was fun to watch Dean get the best of the demi-god or whatever he was. I'm loving badass fighting Dean. OTOH - why are these demi-gods, monsters, and other miscellaneous gods having fist fights with humans? In early seasons they just waved a hand and folk flew through the air. Still, not complaining. I love a good ol' fist fight and Jensen's got the moves. I'm left wondering if Dean agrees to take on Michael (our world Michael) into order to be strong enough to fight AU World Michael who's apparently about to come through the rift to wipe us all out. Maybe the 1920's garb on a 21st century street is something else? It was a bore and a waste of episode. We're getting down to the wire, things should be ramping up - I don't give a shit about Gabe. I honestly don't care if Mary stays in the AU. I am kinda hoping Cinnamon Jack gets a few evil tendencies. I think the actor is well able to give us some shivers. Jensen is soooooo beautiful. Oh my gosh. Thank you Richard for the close ups.

S10.E04: War and P.O.S
Pondlass1 replied to OnceSane's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
Gosh - I'd be terrified to be invited to a dinner party with this lot. Or even to be seated in a restaurant where they are being filmed. But at least I have some idea what's got each of them all into their own wild and crazy rage. (I still don't know what Kyle's issue is even after watching a whole season.) -
S08.E19: Reunion Part 1

Looking at the reunion photo of them standing with Andy, they should all fire their stylists. What dreadful ghastly outfits! Especially LVP in that ugly red sequined affair that lit up the turkey neck like a glittery Christmas tree. Dorit spent all that money on rock hard boobs only to hide everything under a shiny purple bathrobe. And Erika looked like a character from Star Trek (60s version). All that $$$$$ - and zero taste. -
S08.E19: Reunion Part 1
Pondlass1 replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Back in the day when the likes of Brandi and Kim were around, it was very obvious what the arguments were about. Things were actually thrown across the table in fury. But after watching this season and part 1 of the reunion I still don't get what Kyle is so upset about. I do believe Dorit (of the crazy eyes) likes to shit stir and then plead ignorance. I wouldn't miss her if she left. I was surprised to learn that the swimsuit line is apparently doing well. They probably cost a fortune, but they didn't seem anything special or particularly attractive. I'm hoping the BH ladies take a leaf from the NY housewives book and lighten up with the heavy makeup and silly ugly costumes to sit down to a meal they never eat. And that they actually have FUN for once instead of being on high alert for some slight or other. -
Phil waffled a lot during the second half of the anorexic case. I think sometimes the prompter is slow and he must come up with his own words. The mother suffered from way too much makeup and heavy false eyelashes. She could hardly kept her eyes open. I often think Phil's guests are too heavily made up and stylized. It's difficult to get a sense of who they really are. And the 'talk over' scenes of guests walking along the street or staring into space are so weird and out of place. The show needs a shake up in format.

I don't like Erika but she has the most perfect smooth skin. Most of the others looked like foundation had been spackled on. -
These Spoilers Suck: Bitter Speculation About SPN Spoilers
Pondlass1 replied to catrox14's topic in Supernatural
I actually suggested something like this in a post a few days ago. It could work. -
I can't ever claim to understand why anyone would chose to starve themselves. But doing it to 'spite' your mother seems to be giving the mother an awful lot of power and making yourself miserable and unhealthy in the process. I'm sure we can all relate to parents that can drive us up the wall sometimes. Anyway, part 2 today.

While it would be nice for Dean to be in a dream/fantasy where he's possessed and happy, it's not particularly exciting viewing. Dean saying yes to any possession seems way off. He's just not the type - even if it means saving the world. If it is Dean/Michael and how they're going to do it is fun to speculate for all of us. I'm just crossing everything that the writers don't let us (and Jensen) down. -

Well, good luck to whoever is possessing Dean, then. He's not exactly a tolerant host. There's going to be a continuous struggle for control. -
I dunno. I didn't see smug. I thought they seemed like they had got to a point of frustration and defeat. I do agree the girl needs to get out of the house and live on her own. She'll either make it or die.

I wonder how they're planning to do it??? - if that's what they're planning to do. I'd prefer Dean to be Dean but maybe take on Michael's mythical and supernatural powers .... than him become Michael and Dean's not steering the boat. *Hope Jensen gets to wield a sword. -
Chloe reminds me of Elena (of TVD fame). Everyone loves her and fights over her... but we're left asking why? She's dull as dishwater.

Dr. Phil contradicted himself several times - telling the parents it's not their fault... and then lashing guilt on them because they wouldn't (couldn't) pay the ridiculous fees of the treatment centre. The father was correct. These places are only interested in helping if you have insurance. Once insurance runs out you're on your own. Many anorexics come from happy supportive homes. It's their fear of food and calories that's the root of their problem. But this girl seemed to be starving herself to make her mother suffer. Plus she likes the attention and concern. It's so sick.
