Thanks for the response @ILoveReading. I actually went in and edited my post as it was the afternoon panel because I remember the Js were sitting down. I can't find the fan video now. I don't remember which convention it was. But it's a huge auditorium. There's a block of seats close to the stage full to the brim, then a wide aisle, then another block of chairs where this person was sitting. It was the wide aisle that constantly had girls wandering back and forth. Anyway, my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all those generous fans that video and then post the convention panels. SPN Family is the greatest

So.... looking at Jensen really IS like looking into the sun. I can even see the golden rays beaming down on his gorgeousness as he drinks his beer. I'd rather Jensen's acting is recognized than a cartoon episode. But just to be nominated is an honour I guess? (isn't that what you're supposed to say?) Some fans are rude, intentional or not. But the guys certainly have zero competition between each other. A friendship couldn't work otherwise. I recently watched a fan video on YT, she obviously had pretty bad seats and seemed way in the back. The boys were sat on stage. The thing that bugged me were the number of fans wandering around the room, standing about in the aisles talking to each other. I've never been to a convention but how is this even allowed? For one thing, they were in the way of the fans trying to watch or record, and also - isn't it rude to the people on stage? Maybe it's darkness and the Js can't see that far back, but it bothered me. And why aren't these young people (most with huge backpacks for some reason) sitting down and watching? There were some empty seats nearby. It all seemed so casual, but also odd as it was the Js Afternoon Panel and I'd expect people paid a lot of money to be there.

This whole grace nonsense is annoying now.

Supernatural Bitterness & Unpopular Opinions: You All Suck
Pondlass1 replied to mstaken's topic in Supernatural
It's probably an UO but I find the convention panels entertaining. I don't think they're bothered much by inappropriate questions. There's always going to be someone asking something stupid. It's a fact of life for entertainers. Both Js are fun to watch and come up with different ways to answer the same questions. Jensen was shy and reserved at first but he's kind of evolved into the ringmaster. Misha and Jensen panels are comedy gold. They read each other like a book. It's an insight into the actors. Who'd have thought sunny gregarious Jared suffered from anxiety? Who'd have thought Jensen could sing like he does. UO - I hope they continue after the show ends. (I only watch J2 and Misha panels BTW). -
The bottom line is that Alex was hired for the younger audience. The ones we see at conventions asking about pranks. He's a good enough actor. But I cannot see them giving him a dark storyline because they won't want to lose ratings. Flat, one-dimension characters are all over TV today. I cannot stand to watch half the TV shows now. I'm not the least bit interested in seeing Jack being parented by anyone. He aged so quickly and then stopped ...it doesn't make sense. He should be shopping for a walker and toupee by now!
-
I'd rather he became a bit more complex. Maybe a darker side emerges as he ages? I'm ok with the actor and I guess the young'uns like him. But let's have the character stray from the sweet cinnamon path a few times. Could be fun and his dad is a Prince of Darkness after all.

I wouldn't place bets that MP won't be back as Luci. The only good thing that could come out of his return is ....if they allow Jensen and Mark to duke it out again. This time a good ol' down and dirty fist fight using whatever comes to hand (and a great classic rock music score playing in the background).
-
We've already got Cas. Why do we need Jack? Only difference is the age? Both have powers that come and go according to plot. Both are TFW sympathizers. They even look alike. Jack is extraneous now surely? ETA: Crowley was the fourth face on the DVD covers, but at least he was rascally and dangerous. Jack is Cas Part II.

Yes I was. Sorry. I type as quick as my thoughts which are often muddled. I'd like Jensen to sing Dead or Alive by himself at a future concert. Loved the Pittsburgh dotty shirt Jensen wore. And his hairstyle is longer on top and short at the sides (from what I could see). Is the Afternoon Panel on YT yet? I must check.

All I can think is how boring life must be for all of them. Fred sits at a desk in a darkened office day and night. The armed guards on the street just walk about or stand around hugging a gun. The 16 yr old wife spends her days in a tiny dark apartment. Handmaids don't seem to do much either but at least they walk to a 'store'. The house they're all in is dark, dreary and creaky. It's all so boring and depressing. I think the boredom would be the worst of all. I'd be bored out of my mind. I feel bad for wild animals in cages or compounds at the zoo -they're fed and looked after, but it's a life that steals the soul. Everyone needs stimulation and affection. Gilead can never work for long. I wonder what will happen with the baby? Surely she won't be given back? Would Serena be given charge?

I don't know about scripted.... but definitely edited and situations set up for TV entertainment and ratings. The night out with Pao and Juan for instance. And the never-ending log cabin holiday with Pedro and Family Chantel (BTW if Pedro's DR family were 'harvesting for dollars' then surely Pedro would be nice as pie all the time in order to harvest even more dollar from the Family Chantel). However, Nichole's delusional world seems real (otherwise give that girl an Emmy). How could she look at herself in the mirror in that wildly inappropriate dress and not be horrified? Anfisa should return to Russia. I get the impression she is genuinely unhappy but maybe has signed a contract and must stick around with dough boy. Same thing with 'Louise', he wants out and to go back to the DR clubs ... but the show won't let him go maybe? David gives me the willies. And what is it with the black eyebrows on this show?

This is what threw us all off during our speculations - well, me anyway. I was thinking Our World Mike all along. Never once considered AU Mike wearing Dean. I thought the end battle would be between the two. I hope there are no plans for more alternate universes in future seasons, the concept is too confusing for these writers and showrunner.
-
Of all of them the one I want to succeed - and probably will - is Anfisa. She's more intelligent than we think and she doesn't need a fat dolt like George to buy her designer bags and shoes. She can do it herself. She is independent. Her command of English language is excellent and she sees through people and seems to know the score. Her looks are not what's going to get her places or things she's wasting her time if she thinks they will- she has a great figure but not a particularly pretty face. She needs to stop talking in monotone and let folk see her personality, hopefully she will get into a school program or training and she'll do well and be an asset to the country. The only other possible success story is Annie. She should be taking English lessons now -I'm in Canada and they're free for immigrants, I would expect the same for folk in the US. Then once the green card arrives she can get away from Humpty Dumpty who's becoming unhealthier by the episode, find a job and not be so reliant on others. David is a loser. Stand on your own feet, girl. You're in America now, not Thailand. Women rule! Azan & Nichole are a different kettle of fish as they're not married and he's not even arrived on these shores. Yes, she should go to Morocco, live with the auntie, shove Assan around for a few months and get it out of her system. She could even be arrested and put into jail. It might be a wake up call. She is living a foolish fantasy and is neglecting her child. The others seem more a setup for entertainment than anything else.

The smug look of euphoria on Nicole's face when she told Assan about coming to Morocco and them getting married there. I wish we could have seen the sheer horror on his face. Too bad there's no camera crew following him around. The only time he ever displayed the remotest spark of affection was at the airport waving her and May goodbye.

Supernatural Bitterness & Unpopular Opinions: You All Suck

I don't know why Christian didn't feature more in season 13? I like him. Easy on the eye and has acting charisma. I think someone said he had another gig. Even when Dean is ejected, I hope Michael sticks around for 14. He's a thousand times more interesting than Lucifer... and Jack -
Duh! I didn't realize you could change it. The dubbing is distracting, I'd much rather read subtitles. But I don't think I will continue. The characters are mostly annoying. And I don't understand their behaviour regarding the danger from the rain. They seem very lackadaisical about it. Surely after a rainfall the virus would seep into everything. Someone even was wearing shorts. I'd be encased in plastic walking through a damp forest. Anyway, good concept for a series... but not working for me.

Although I wanted so much more from the whole Demon Dean story line, I did have a chuckle that Dean with a twisted soul, Dean without responsibility or guilt, Dean free as the wind and well able to handle himself, Dean without his brotherly appendage, that Dean... chose bar hopping, bar brawling, karaoke and barmaids as his chosen life of freewill. No beaches in sight. He didn't seek luxury or fortune and wanted to rule no one. Beer, bars, brawls, barmaids. That's Dean's idea of retirement. (Although Dean on a beach wearing just shades and shorts is kinda nice too). "-) ETA -- I wouldn't dare say this anywhere else but in Dean's thread.... but I have a suspicion that if these two brothers did actually retire... that they'd drift apart. Hunting keeps them tangled together and their love is the greatest love of all. But they're really not much alike are they?

Supernatural Bitterness & Unpopular Opinions: You All Suck
Pondlass1 replied to mstaken's topic in Supernatural
We knew this at the old IMDb board and Dean fans were warned to stay away or be gritting teeth while reading articles. It's a Sam-centric site for sure. Sam can do no wrong. Some of the other Supernatural sites view the whole show through rosy glasses. I don't bother with them much either. I realise we're a bit too critical here sometimes, but at least we're passionate. -

I don't know why they did the high wire fight? A ground fight, similar to the one in Cain's cabin would have been perfect. Both Jensen and Mark have the coordination, dexterity and quick reflexes to make it real and dramatic. I think it was 2 days of physical discomfort for the guys and to have it not turn out well is a shame. -
The Walking Dead has lost its way. It needs a crossover with Supernaural. ??

Wow, just discovered Vera on PBS. Makes such a refreshing change from the ghastly acting on most US detective shows. No false eyelashesor botox to be seen either.

I binged seasons 1-7. Which wasn't too bad. And I agree that bingeing puts you deep into the Supernatural world. I literally lived and breathed Supernatural during the binge. Dreamed about it too. But bingeing seasons 1-13 in one whallop???.... that's another thing entirely - as has been illustrated by most of the posts following my post. Canon... what's that? They need some sort of legend or bible in the writing room or someone checking up on who can do what, or what can do what.... because it's got to be glaring for bingers. And there are a lot of them apparently. I'm finding acquaintances and co-workers, etc., who've started a binge of Supernatural because there's nothing much on Tv these days.

It would have been interesting to see characters we've known and (maybe) loved in past seasons in an entirely different environment where Sam and Dean were no born and an apocalypse happened. But these writers are not up to it I'm afraid. I thought they'd made casting gold with Alex early in the season. But they made Jack woobie and boring almost from the get go. So we get the one puzzled compassionate expression all the time. It's a shame because I think the actor has more in him.
