The more I think on it the more I think it’s just gonna be a pagan God or perhaps the Empty. I can’t think of how the “hungry” descriptor would fit an AU Guck since IIRC he doesn’t eat souls, flesh or anything like that?

• I thought Stephen Amell did a good job of portraying Oliver’s anxiety and general discomfort throughout the episode. His speech to Diggle about finding it harder to fight now he had something to live for was well delivered and kudos to the writer who wrote it in the first place. • Laurel was a delight in this one. Her best scene of the episode was her comforting Joanna and acknowledging she did not have the healthiest coping mechanisms while grieving for Sara. • I dislike Laurel’s dad. Using your own daughter like that is a douche move. • Are we supposed to feel sorry for Moira because I honestly don’t since she’s involved with shady Barrowman and his shady dealings. Overall, a good episode! The case of the week was a bit meh, but the emotional beats of getting Oliver back in the game saved it from being boring :)

Episode 17 synopsis is out. A hungry God with a capital G... Are we about to find out there is more than one Guck in addition to more than one archangel etc? Could it be a reference to the empty? Or am I reading too much into the use of the capital G and it’s just gonna be a pagan god.

How about a non waywarder Krissy Chambers

I’ll have to rewatch the scene tomorrow, but I read it as some crass joke that was basically “I hope you’re not firing me cus you know lots of people commit suicide this time of year due to firings”. If the writer was going for quirky humour it was off the mark for this viewer at least.

• Oh no it’s the return of the flashbacks! It was a nice break while it lasted. • Killing the hostages in Oliver’s name to call him out was pretty chilling! That’s a type of smart ruthlessness TV shows rarely allow their bad guys! Go Arrow :) • So am I right to assume Tommy’s dad/John Barrowman is the author of the list? That he was the one to send the killer after Oliver. • WAIT HES NOT THE AUTHOR, BUT THE ASSASSIN. I DID NOT SEE THAT PART COMING! WOWA.

Thanks and they haven’t yet (at least I don’t think they have?)

• And now we have our second masked vigilante of the series! As I mentioned in my last commentary, I haven’t read the green arrow comics. What’s Helena’s code name? I’m assuming she’s a comic character based on the fact she was given a costume. • I like Laurel so far, but ugh at her behaviour during the double date. It was up to Tommy if he wanted to approach Oliver. It wasn’t her place bleh. Although good for her for at least apologising later and not just accepting Tommy’s comment. • Ugh at the Felicity joke about suicide. It’s not cute or endearing to make light of such a sensitive subject writers. Bad choice on their part unless the aim is to try and make me dislike the character. • So @BkWurm1 was right about it likely being the heat of the fire that made the words appear than spiritual intervention. Not that I doubted the word of an expert watcher haha.

I enjoyed this one. • Tommy and Laurel were definitely the highlight of the episode for this viewer. There’s a certain softness between them that I feel they lack with anyone else. Plus seeing Tommy open up to her about his money issues and her offer support was heartwarming ❣. This episode further cements my belief that Tommy/Laurel easily beats Oliver/Laurel. • I wasn’t as fond of the Oliver/Helena aspect of the episode. I don’t read comics to know the origin story, but on show the parallels between the two just felt overly forced. • The reveal of John Barrowman as Tommy’s father was great :D. I did not see that coming! Normally I wouldn’t care for the plight of a spoiled little rich boy, but Barrowman played him with such smugness that I really wished Tommy had gotten to punch him in the face. On to the next episode.

Not sure if this belongs here or media, but since this relates to an upcoming episode I’ll put it here. http://ew.com/tv/2018/03/15/supernatural-hot-topic-scoobynatural-merchandise/?utm_campaign=entertainmentweekly&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social Not that I’m complaining (I’m just glad to see him included on some of the Merch), but why is Cas’ hair ginger? Lol

Personally, I think the writing for season 12 was better than the writing for seasons 8, 9 and possibly 10. During those seasons everything was pretty heavy handed lacking in nuance and frankly most of the characters were pretty hard to like during that period. IMO the writing of S12 is nowhere near the show in its peak (S1-5), but it definitely wasn’t the worst we’ve had either.

•This show loves to give us plenty of shirtless Oliver scenes. Not that I’m complaining ;) • I think I’m starting to ship Tommy and Laurel. The actors share chemistry and the characters share affection Oliver and Laurel lack. • I’d feel sorry for Oliver’s mum if she hadn’t you know arranged the kidnapping of her son. I thought we were meant to believe it was a genuine apparition of Robert. I thought that was what the names appearing on the formerly blank book was meant to signify.

They go on for five seasons? I’d been hoping they’d be a feature for the first season only ugh.
