Supernatural Bitterness & Unpopular Opinions: You All Suck
Wayward Son replied to mstaken's topic in Supernatural
UO: It could take another 13 seasons, but I fully expect this show to end when ratings have fizzled out enough for the network to suggest calling it a day. IMO Ackles and Jared have both shown they’re happy to stick with the money train for as long as it lasts and are unlikely to quit of their own accord. (And yes I’m aware that the same comment could be made about Misha, who has also stuck with the show for years despite a decline in the writing for his character, but it has always been clear the shows future is dependent on J2’s continued involvement (and not Misha’s) so I didn’t include him in the main statement) -
Im not surprised! I said all along that fandom (meaning SN fans in general not just some people on here) were jumping on the “the show is going to end next season with episode 300” bandwagon far too quickly. It’s “the show is going to end with Swan Song / season seven / season 10” all over again LOL

Perhaps the two of you are right that he credits the majority of the cast and crew. I am willing to concede that may be the case in some cases. However, he doesn’t credit Misha and in fact he and Jared both love to frequently mock and belittle Misha’s contribution to the show with snide little remarks about how he isn’t in every episode and therefore doesn’t do much work. Which by the way unless it ever comes out Misha was offered a full time position and turned it down (and no I don’t think that ever happened before I’m accused of being a deluded Misha Stan) it’s a pretty dick move mocking that someone hasn’t got full time work. So a possible change of stance on my part in some cases, but I’m sticking to agree to disagree re Misha where his arrogance definitely shows.

Not saying this in an argumentative way (I’m happy to just agree to disagree) but in a general musing way; it’s funny how we can all perceive things differently. Personally, Ackles comes across as quite arrogant to me. IMO he only considers the work done by himself and possibly Jared as important and no one else matters.

I enjoyed this episode! It was very well written, the suspense was heightened and for the first time I genuinely feared a main characters death (Tommy’s). Although I had to roll my eyes at a second potential “oh we thought they were dead, but whoops nope they’re still alive” plot. We’ve been there and done that with the main protagonist. Do we really need to do it again? Lol

I wasn’t bashing anyone. I was simply pointing out that I don’t consider his failure to progress further a shame as he generally overshadows the other members of the cast who don’t get the praise they deserve for their hard work. I am entitled to not worship the ground Ackles walks on and I don’t have to wish for him to get each and every award available. So I think we should agree to disagree.

I thought what I was talking about was pretty self explanatory, but to clarify. Ackles wins more than enough awards IMO, to the point the rest of the casts hard work is often ignored and not given the credit deserved. So him losing for once is definitely not a shame especially compared to how it’s a shame Jared (who unfairly gets nowhere near as much praise as Ackles) didn’t progress any further.

Thanks for sharing this :) . After all he’s been through I wonder what could be so bad Sam would consider it “terrifying and harrowing”. Will it link back to the Lucifer’s true conversation between Sam and Rowena?
-
Yes, I have and he also seems to be looking over in the direction of the Scooby gang where Daphne and Fred are sitting next to each other. ETA: I have this image of @SueB reading this thread and chuckling at the guesses which are completely off haha

I don’t think Sam is going to kiss Daphne and I don’t think the “she could do better” is about Sam. I think the episode is going to set up a rivalry between Dean and Fred over her. I thought that was what the bit where Dean is trying to protect Daphne during a chase only to turn around and see she has ran off with Fred was meant to establish. Its been a long time since I’ve watched the cartoon so I can’t demember if Daphne/Fred was a thing in it, but the ship has been floating around in some form for quite a while as it was a part of the Sarah Michelle Gellar (Daphne) and Freddy Prince Jr (Fred) starring Scooby Doo movie.

I read back and it was @SueB who listed Au Azazel as a potential candidate. My apologises to you both for the mistake.

Well have to agree to disagree on this! And wait and see whether a) Dean says yes to Michael and b) If he does whether there are real consequences of the act (proving my opinion wrong) r does it end with Michael professing some utter crap about how Dean has inspired him to be better from now on *vomits at the thought* (and it proves me right). -

Let’s see if he makes a deal with Michael and if so whether he comes out of it magically consequence free or not then. -

Indeed, yay for continually being the Mary Stu of the show. -

As I said I consider Cas saying yes to Lucifer pretty stupid, and as for bad things happening; I think being stabbed by Lucifer at the end of season 12 counts as a pretty bad consequence for his stupidity. Although I wouldn’t worry if I were you, knowing this shows track record Dean will come out of his deal with Michael smelling of roses and consequence free ;) He tends to be the writers Mary Sue after all. -

If Dean says yes to our Michael to defeat AU Michael then he’s a complete and utter idiot and deserves all the bad things to happen to him. And yes I’ve also said countless times I consider Cas saying yes to Lucifer back in season 11 moronic. And the fact Dean has seen the results of Cas’ moronic decision and (potentially) goes on to make a similar deal increases his moron level. -
Perhaps it’s my fandom biases showing but I tend to consider the Wincest and bronly fandom worse for the simple fact, as far as I know at least, no cast member has had to call Destiel fans out for trying to get Jared fired. While on several occasions Jim Beaver and other cast members have publicly called them out for their mistreatment of Misha such as organising Fire Misha Collins day (see link above) and the so called ‘Silent Majority’ drama.
