  1. Sorry I actually meant to say Jack was Scrappy Doo. I actually liked @ILoveReading‘s suggestion of Garth for Shaggy though.
  2. For me Sam is Velma: I’m not saying he’s a girl, but personality wise there are similarities there. They’re both the academics of the group, the nerds if you will and their academic mindset can make them a little closed off at times. Dean is Fred: Both are the leaders of the group, headstrong and quick to jump into danger, brave and can be extremely exasperating to the others in the group. Jack is Scrappy: Young, impressionable and sometimes tries too hard to impress. I’ve no idea who to assign Daphne and Shaggy to though.
  3. Fair point re Sam, but the fact remains Cas has never referred to Dean as a dog so it was an unprovoked attack. But Im not surprised, the remark was just Dean being his typical douchebag self and the actor who plays him has already admitted Dean’s a user who simply sees Castiel as a “useful tool”.
  4. I wasn’t a particular fan of that episode. Also there’s a difference between someone becoming dog like due to an external influence such as a spell and someone stating that another person is a dog all the time. I can easily imagine the cries of outrage from yourself and other Dean fans had it been Sam or Cas who had degraded Dean by calling Dean a dog (and not in the horn dog sense but literally calling him a dog).
  5. Episode synopsis for episode 19 is out
  6. I expect so too to be honest. I’m just wondering if the above factors have made them less eager to jump straight to renewal than they have been previously.
  7. Considering it’s downward spiral (its now getting 0.4s regularly and has achieved syndication decreasing the need to keep it on) maybe the CW are trying to decide if they want to renew Arrow or not.
  8. Finals are in! We kept the 0.7 rating and the total viewers ticked up slightly.
  9. Reader Discussion How (thanks to Gabriel) Dean and Castiel (accidentally) raised each other (and Sam). @takalotti @trxr4kids (and anyone else who wants to join in) Chapter 1 - This chapter was rather unique and while Gabriel's voicing feels off I can buy it since it's so far back in the past. I love their take on how Cas became the angel of Sunday and the "of Dean Winchester" twist amused me. Chapter 2 - Hahahaha Casday! I would totally be up for celebrating Cas day every week! - I actually didn't know Thursday was named after Thor! I always love it when fanfic teaches me new things :) - I'm assuming the kid who saved Jimmy's life was Guck, which was an interesting way to insert him into the fic. I'm not so keen on the whole 'Jimmy was dying' until Castiel possessed him twist. It just makes the whole possession a little too convenient. - Kid teen and Cas' first meeting raises mixed thoughts on him. It's a general issue I have with these types of fics. Dean always comes across as a little too trusting even for that age and I feel its a case of making the characters match the plot as even at that age I feel Dean would go to John if a strange Supernatural being entered his life. Chapter 3 - I enjoyed this chapter (aside from the issues I mentioned in chapter 2). - This line "It appeared that being the angel of Dean Winchester, meant that he must also be the angel of Samuel Winchester. Dean would not allow it any other way" is so true in canon and fanon haha. Chapter 4 - I totally chuckled at Castiel's exasperation when telling the tale of Corduroy to wee Sam. I could totally imagine canon Castiel being confused by the concept of children stories hahaha. Chapter 6 - Aw Castiel appealing to Sam's love of learning by allowing him to learn Enochian. The perfect gift for Sam Cas! :D Chapter 8 - The Sam school arrangement was a pretty neat compromise. I'd be curious to see how a more stable school environment will influence Sam's mindset when the time to go to college comes. Will he try to find a way to commute to Stanford without John knowing instead of leaving the family and completely cutting himself off, as he did in canon? Of course even with the Cas compromise if this Sam still ends up with the same "I want to quit hunting" mindset a confrontation with John will have to occur at some point. Hmmm.
  10. Unrounded Ratings Supernatural ...................... 0.705 ... (0.716 ... 0.694) Arrow ................................. 0.387 ... (0.393 ... 0.380)
  11. It got a 0.7 for the main demo, which was what I actually guessed ;) It got a 0.7 in the main demo.
  12. I’ve watched the episode and there were two things I didn’t like - Dean degrading Cas by calling him a dog. - Misha’s acting in the live Cas scene. It felt off to me. I’m not sure if he was having a bad day, couldn’t focus due to his excitement about the whole thing, or purposely exagerrated things to match the cartoon nature of the episode. His acting just felt very forced and awkward to me and I rarely have complaints about Misha’s acting. Other than that I loved the episode though! The animation was excellent, I loved the contrast between the Innocence of the Scooby gang and the Wincester’s (boys don’t sleep in the same room as girls silly), the Scooby theme tune sequence was wonderful and such a special moment and of course I loved the Scooby equivalent of Cas’ Big Damn Hero moment! Kudos to everyone involved.
  13. As I predicted we got a boost, but nothing overly dramatic! Hopefully the boost this week will remain enough to help us get more 0.6s and 0.7s this season :)
  14. And yet has such a low opinion of Cas that he thinks he’s a dog. Calling someone a dog is not a compliment.
  15. I’m ten minutes in and what thehell! “Cas is like a talking dog” Bugger off Dean! And people wonder why I consider Dean a crappy friend to Cas. Calling someone a dog... nice to know what you really think of him Dean ugh.
  16. Thanks. I think I’ve seen the clip you’re talking about although I can’t femember anything about a threesome. I must rewatch :) ETA: I rewatched and I interpreted it more as Fred making sure Dean wasn’t alone with Daphne due to his (I’m assuming) rivalry with Dean for her affections. Although the idea of a threesome amuses me haha
  17. A cameo in the Scooby ep or a different one? If it’s the Scooby ep that’s certainly one way of getting around the presumably high cost of bringing JDM back lol
  18. I don’t believe it was ever mentioned on screen? Didn’t that episode take place while Cas was homeless? I don’t care who it is, or how much I generally like or dislike a character, but Cas, Sam or Dean having sex with a dog, even a cartoon one, is too gross lol
  19. I hope this isn’t going to be one of those “lesson episodes” for Cas. He starts off all snooty “I led armies and now I’m stuck with a philstine and a talking dog” only for him to actually need to learn loads from them. I’d have rather he just learnt whatever he learns from them and doesn’t need to be taken down from on high.
  20. Eric Kripke knew he’d stumbled on a gem when he cast Misha and thankfully wasn’t afraid to give him a lot to work with. Personally, I think Misha’s acting skills are often underrated due to the stoic and low key nature of regular Castiel so episodes like this and last seasons The Rapture really give him a chance to show off his range. I’m glad to see you’re enjoying Cas :D. He’s my favourite! Not to knock his skills as Sam (because he does play a great Sam) but some of Jared’s not!Sam scenes are his best work on the show. His performance here was excellent and his Meg!Sam back in season two was in his top 5 scenes for me!
  21. I wouldn’t pick any of those four - Faith - In My Time of Dying - Jus in Bello - On the Head of a Pin - Lazarus Rising - The Song Remains the Same - The End - The Man Who Would Be King - Death’s Door - Executioners Song - Inside Man - The Prisoner - Brothers Keeper - Celebrating the Life of Asa Fox are all much, much better episodes IMO particularly the ones in bold.
  22. Perhaps the shrieking is a deliberate thing on Dean’s part? What I mean is wasn’t there a clip where dean tells Sam not to let the Scooby gang know about their lives? Perhaps the shrieking is a continuation of him playing the civilian?
  23. Yeah I’d agree with that :) . IMO I imagine Dean bought the chair for whoever was with him at the time (with the exceptation that would be mostly Sam since he’s the one who lives there with him full time). I couldn’t imagine him being like “Cas/mum/jack/whoever else don’t sit there that’s Sam’s chair” when it is just the two of them. If it were a group setting then I’d imagine Dean would expect it to be he and Sam get the chairs and the others can choose whether to sit on the floor or grab a chair from the kitchen. And to be clear I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with that. Dean buying two chairs to account for the two people living there is no different than a family of four or five buying a three seater and a single sofa or two to cover the family.
