I’m guessing you wouldn’t like Twin Peaks the Return, either. I wasn’t betrayed by Lost. I think the fan response did it in. I’m less fond if JJAbrams, the only thing of his I have really liked was the casting of Karl Urban as Bones and ‘Super Eight’. But I don’t hate him.

Watchmen and the Leftovers are two of my favorite shows ever. I heard him on a twin peaks the return podcast and felt he watched tv for the same reasons I watch tv. So, I care.

I expect an episode where we learn how Milchick comes to Lumon.

I believe she may have been originally meant to be younger but I think having an older person acting younger provided important cognitive dissonance. She had just been born. I also suspect that she took a while to become accepted because tv viewers don’t like change, and because she was supposed to be annoying to Buffy, our POV character in the family.

In This episode I believe Devon is doubling down on her feelings that Mark is important to her. Given a choice, screw the investigation. Cobel/Selvig was raised by Lumon. Like Miss Huang? It would explain the weird religious behavior of Selvig, of course. Who else was raised by Lumon? Also, do the goat prople ever go outside? in this episode I loved the flashback scenes s, especially the cinematic outdoor scenes. Mark giving Gemma an ant farm is chilling, given they both end up in an ant farm situation. The difference between their house, full of plants, light and high ceilings, and the house Mark owns is stark and indicative of his loss and grief. The difference between their final ‘I love you’s between ‘Mark and Gemma (he must berate himself for that as he sits in the dark) and the doctor insisting she say ‘I love you’ is also heartbreaking. i think the doctor will try to keep her. The clinic was how Gemma was used by Lumon, was she pregnant? also the warrior pose she strikes is from her postcard.

It is possible that some form of Gemma will go out and be presented as the face of Lumon. The doctor may hope someone who is in love with him. And maybe the expect Mark will be severed from his grief. It is a thought. Personally I am more suspicious of Fields.

I wonder if this means Irving also was part of a version of the many rooms experiment.

Did I fall asleep? The casting of Dichen Lachlen gracefully acknowledges the DNA the two shows share. It is odd more people don’t talk about it. She did an incredible job this episode and I think she has grown better looking.

I wonder if the revenue from severance doesn’t come from politicians severing their wives and black op strike groups. (Etc) and If the severance floors aren’t all product development of some sort. Experiments, as you say. Burt’s area was shuttered, except for the one woman. i do wonder if people can be severed multiple times and if outie Gemma/ms Casey could be someone completely different. i also wonder if Dieter wasn’t a player and might have descendants, or a business.

One of the articles said they found some prescription pills on the floor. The dog might have eaten some. Just conjecturing.

Burt showed Irving the room where the office plants were stored, probably on rotation under grow lights. That was a lot of Lumon plants. 😀

That’s a good series of points about his job. Milchick lures him back this season by telling him his Innie is happy and he can benefit from that, and that could have been the worm on the hook that dragged him in. Cobel/Selvig seems to feel proprietary about Mark (and her job ) so i think Mark could have been her idea, her project.

There wasn’t anyone to like in the show, but sometimes that is ok.

Cobel was stealing things from Mark’s basement and putting them around Miss Casey’s ‘office’. Candle. And once she says something about it being good they don’t recognise each other. i’m not sure what that meant. Will she recognise him when they finish refining? Was he hired because of their relationship? Was he already next to selvig or did she pick him and push him to sever himself. i don’t know.

Yeah, that sucks. On the other hand, this is social media. Just slightly archaic.

No, I just thought perhaps people would like to speculate about what is happening.

Maybe Severance started with forgetting, like when working in the ‘ether mines’ workers of the early times would forget what had happened and how long they worked. They would also return to work because they were addicted. This seemed felicitous to the company managers and they have worked on ways to improve on this, eventually hitting upon the current severing chip.

We don’t know a lot about the family, the makeup of the current family, or what they actually believe. ‘Father’ certainly seems to communicate with and rely on Drummond, not Helena.

It is not just that, though. There is pressure to not take time off and inconvenience others. It is a work culture. If you want to get ahead your work should be your priority.

I do see that if a reboot was submitted, then withdrawn and the reboot made under a different name…this is different than someone simply making a show set in an ER and Chrichton’s estate could have a case.

That cornflakes were once believed to be antimastubatory and that one of the kelloggs ( I can’t find a reference but it is at least a myth, because I’ve heard it more than once) believed that eating cornflakes and following a goat around and drinking from her udder was a way to health…well, it explains the goats. And maybe Dieter.

Speculation thread

My theory is that Alexandra is going to rescue one of Dalton’s group and cause a political stir, thus giving her a storyline outside of the ‘spencer’s accessory’ story. Maybe she will befriend someone in steerage who ends up being one of his women.
