  1. When has the law. Any law. Stopped this.
  2. That sounds good but I think it is a flawed assumption. I am on the fence whether Shauna is on the apd spectrum, but narcissists are often leaders and victims. Taking responsibility is often that you would take responsibility, but it is someone else’s fault, so not your fault. I think it is mean girl stuff. People don’t like her enough. No one will make excuses they would make for someone else.
  3. Microsoft buying three mile island was smart of them. But this, I’ll be under the bed
  4. I think that it was corruption in plain sight.
  5. I have a large collection of books I read as a younger person that bother me now, for a number of reasons, and also a lot of writers I read and admired who turn out to have opinions i disagree with. Mostly it is all right. The authors are often deceased and I have fond memories of what they have written. Many I would give to a younger person to read, but would also point out some of the issues. The Harry Potter books aren’t that horrible, for goodness sake. Most of the things you mention are pretty standard tropes, found in many books and children’s books. Yes, the naming of the goblins was low hanging fruit and jarring even at the time it was written. The problem is actually that for some reason she will not shut up. Her personal beliefs are being wielded in a way that is hurtful to others and she is encouraging others to do the same. It isn’t that she wrote a story that had a lot of common tropes that have recently been called into question. The problem is that she is doubling down on the bad parts of the tropes, and taking people with her.
  6. Have we actually established that her maiden name wasn’t Matlock? Daughter could have loved the show, and that could have been one of the reasons. Or that she didn’t change her name? Alternatively, perhaps one of the next threads will be her trying to make herself actually legal for the long haul. I don’t think at the beginning that she thought she would enjoy the job or develop relationships she valued.
  7. I admit I have not watched this show like a hawk, but my impression was that Maddie got in to do some detective work and has been drawn in by the lawyering and by her relationships with her coworkers. More episodes mean the relationships can be expanded on, which is a good twist for the show. It would have been different in the modern, streamer format.
  8. I think he likes jerking people around. This is the satifaction af getting a reaction. It is his brand.
  9. The CumberbachvSherlock was autistic high IQ. House was APD/high IQ.
  10. We love HF but Whittaker (is that it?)points out he’s a taker. Spencer too probably. ijust not sadists.
  11. Oh I think a starship would be great. Even the Cerritos.
  12. Most TV Shows are ‘interesting times’. Like the old curse. The world of Mary Tyler Moore and Rhoda might be okay to live in. And star Trek, the Federation would be an interesting place to explore.
  13. Sadly, yes
  14. Jack’s son might also be a John. There is a lot of random coincidence in these shows and the two boys might meet on the front.
  15. Also we have leaned into the idea that the innies are growing up. Helly and iMark run off like Romeo and Juliet. But you know, Innie Mark choosing not to die AND he has something to live for—makes sense.
  16. And have him return to plague the future. Bad Nimue.
  17. Yes they do but as we’ve learned um not necessarily with the same populations and they may not cross streams. If you watch fox news and post in truth social your mileage may be different.
  18. Yes we need more of this to spark dialogue. Throwing names can be fun but it doesn’t go far.
  19. I don’t know how many subscribers streamers have, compared to each other, but Apple is small and probably relatively sophisticated. Here is a link for severance, concentrating not on viewership, it online engagement. https://televisionstats.com/s/severance Severance (TV) Severance Stats Tuesday April 8, 2025 • Severance ranked as the #3most popular show online and was the #1 most popular TV show on Apple TV+. The current engagement score for Severance is 85.29. The Television Stats algorithm evaluates online audience activity and engagement across various platforms, including search, website traffic, and social media. These values are calculated each morning, taking into account the entire activity from the previous day.
  20. It has always been true that if anyone is competitive they should compete. If a woman can be a pitcher in the Yankees, she should go for it. Women’s teams exist because there is a disparity on the average, in size or strength, etc. or no one would have noticed the need for them, and of course because os systemic sexism when that is irrelevant. Yes including debate and chess teams. But very few men or women compete in the top tier anyway. a lot is people feel they can speak on this issue. The board room can discuss the designs of the corporate bathrooms for days, but don’t have anything to say about the safety features of the nuclear reactor. So there is a hue and a cry.
  21. Tv no longer has shows that everyone watches and talks about. It seems like it sometimes, but no there aren’t shows like that. Everything is niche. I think.
  22. I haven’t watched Yellowstone. Are there callbacks to these shows?
  23. If it is also in honor of the rmy it may increse turnout.
