  1. Matt Murdock’s apartment in the Netflix show. Tha Addams Family mansion. Bit dicey but super interesting.
  2. Stay away from the Alexandria quartet—Durrell wrote four books. Rashomon is one of my favorite movies. It makes sense that they wouldn’t remember all of it, or even most of it, because of the trauma, and that there would be anger when they did remember some of it. Now Shauna remembers how good it felt to be the Antler Queen, but she is at a low point right now. I still can’t tell where they are going with her, although I am beginning to think there may be a final hunt. They may not pull it off, but I think the plan would be the first part of next season is waiting for rescue, the last part is being rescued. On the adult side I think alliances are formed. Maybe the second part of the fifth season would be that final hunt, and the second part the aftermath, I’m sure they will do something with the younger actors. But it does seem like they could fit it into one season if they tried.
  3. I assume that is why he wanted custody of any children. So they would be raised Catholic. I also assume that it was a relationship where he felt as if he had the upper hand. But I don’t know why he wouldn’t find a nice Catholic girl to abuse. Maybe because that would be wrong, but atheist deserve whatever you can do to them?
  4. I think we already realized that.
  5. Presidents don’t in any case. There is a lot of pressure. His is mostly internal.
  6. I don’t know. I want them to fly off together and become jewel robbers. Or something.
  7. Remember when she skins and chops that rabbit. It is like she’s triggered. Yeah. But whether she wanted her current life or not she is constantly on edge and danger and drama is the inly way she releases the tension. So no, mostly it wasn’t fun for her.
  8. I sw a clip if his cabinet, each one in turn praising him unreasonably. Which they need to for survival, of course. Still it makes hum worse.
  9. I think we could find out ine or more is alive? But something else that could kill them is illness, we haven’t seen a lot of that. With some new people, new germs.
  10. Generally. gah.
  11. It also would be a great place to build those nuclear reactors. And it would have some strategic attack and defense use.
  12. I actually like Misty, but it is the actress. Upset about Caligula, though.
  13. I am not devoted to the idea that Callie will turn out to be a full blown sociopath, but I’m not discounting it. Shauna sure isn’t warm or communicative or expressive.
  14. Jackie’s value was popularity and Shauna was always not badly positioned, exactly, but not seen. Yes, invited to the big party, but people would forget she was there or not notice that she wasn’t there. And she’s angry and the kind of person that just isn’t sympathetic. Some of it is just not fitting into the correct peg. I’m theorizing that Shauna does love, but no one particularly cares.
  15. When has the law. Any law. Stopped this.
  16. That sounds good but I think it is a flawed assumption. I am on the fence whether Shauna is on the apd spectrum, but narcissists are often leaders and victims. Taking responsibility is often that you would take responsibility, but it is someone else’s fault, so not your fault. I think it is mean girl stuff. People don’t like her enough. No one will make excuses they would make for someone else.
  17. I would assume they wouldn’t know.
  18. Microsoft buying three mile island was smart of them. But this, I’ll be under the bed
  19. I think that it was corruption in plain sight.
  20. I have a large collection of books I read as a younger person that bother me now, for a number of reasons, and also a lot of writers I read and admired who turn out to have opinions i disagree with. Mostly it is all right. The authors are often deceased and I have fond memories of what they have written. Many I would give to a younger person to read, but would also point out some of the issues. The Harry Potter books aren’t that horrible, for goodness sake. Most of the things you mention are pretty standard tropes, found in many books and children’s books. Yes, the naming of the goblins was low hanging fruit and jarring even at the time it was written. The problem is actually that for some reason she will not shut up. Her personal beliefs are being wielded in a way that is hurtful to others and she is encouraging others to do the same. It isn’t that she wrote a story that had a lot of common tropes that have recently been called into question. The problem is that she is doubling down on the bad parts of the tropes, and taking people with her.
  21. Have we actually established that her maiden name wasn’t Matlock? Daughter could have loved the show, and that could have been one of the reasons. Or that she didn’t change her name? Alternatively, perhaps one of the next threads will be her trying to make herself actually legal for the long haul. I don’t think at the beginning that she thought she would enjoy the job or develop relationships she valued.
  22. I admit I have not watched this show like a hawk, but my impression was that Maddie got in to do some detective work and has been drawn in by the lawyering and by her relationships with her coworkers. More episodes mean the relationships can be expanded on, which is a good twist for the show. It would have been different in the modern, streamer format.
  23. I think he likes jerking people around. This is the satifaction af getting a reaction. It is his brand.
  24. The CumberbachvSherlock was autistic high IQ. House was APD/high IQ.
