  1. Well Brian Eno rules…
  2. I imagine that they are going to encounter the enbiggened cast on a movie set, in the actors/stunt guild, or some similar place where they end up investigating the murder. i too think they should have stayed closer to home, but I can see the attraction of the bigger sandbox.
  3. That explains it. They are rivals, like football teams.
  4. Some demigods stay at camp all year around. Annabeth is one of them when the show starts. After she arrived with Thalia and Luke she stayed. Most of your questions are answered in the books, since there is a second season I assume they will tell us what happens to Gabe’s body and the head of medusa.

    S01.E10: Outside

Not everyone has access, but the books are available on hoopla.
  6. Good points. There was a strong thread about politics in the movie, I’m not sure it gelled for me on the first watch. I got the feeling the movie recognized the project would scar those who worked on it, in the way of a permanent trauma that was unrealized when it happened. In addition to the smoking, which is currently distracting to me, too. I really was overwhelmed by the lovely actors and cinematography. I spent time in the shallow end and it was not supposed to be a shallow movie.
  7. Dare we hope it has young, pretty persons educating us about climate change?
  8. 70mm the many beautiful people overwhelmed the message of the movie for me.
  9. On the other hand Sean Gunn is enjoyable to watch.
  10. They leaned heavily into his skinny, small physique at the beginning. He also scampered up to his teachers and hugged a lot. I thind direction played a part. Kyle McLaughlin and Ewan McGregor were obviously physical adults when they filmed their versions of Dune.
  11. Yes, one of the themes is precognition locks you into determinism. Paul doesn’t have much agency. https://apple.news/A8NLefztsSV2BG3hW7Un6QA “What is ‘Dune’ about? Not even Frank Herbert could say for sure.” What is ‘Dune’ about? Not even Frank Herbert could say for sure.
  12. Hoopla has a lot of comics, extended universe stuff, children of dune miniseries. If you get it, way to sample for free.
  13. I saw this on a dedicated IMAX screen on the first day. (Boy is my neck sore). The WB logo was way too huge, stuff of nightmares! The coliseum full of bald Harkonnen supporters, very weird it begs for the third movie. i really liked Stilgar losing himself to fanaticism, and I was impressed with Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck., Zendaya was great. Chalamet is the weakest of the main cast, imo.
  14. I was not sure Lynch ended with Paul as a hero. More a messiah—at that point he moved into religious mythology, ceased to be a person. But I’m in the minority or it didn’t work.
  15. Actors in other roles: Newly-discovered fossils have allowed scientists to reveal a 240-million-year-old “dragon” in its entirety for the first ever time, National Museums Scotland (NMS) said in a statement on Friday. https://apple.news/A5Wixy-w6QauhWx3ffrD6YQ
  16. I vote for Deep Space 9. The goodbyes and decisions were all earned and relatable, and there were so many complex relationships in that show. After nine long seasons I imagine the work goodbyes were as rich as the fictional goodbyes. i vote for Roseanne, for reminding us who the story was about. Also for reminding us that we change our narratives for a variety of reasons, to protect ourselves, but also for others.
  17. At that point the tech they abandoned was done. Old, used up. There was an implication the necessary knowledge was in their heads, Baltar knew agriculture. Also this was not a hugely religious show but it was a religious story, a religious frontier story.a legacy of the original. Yeah, the ending of bsg makes sense. It started in ‘the book of Joseph’ when a flying saucer lands on his front lawn and tells him to take his group west, eventually to Utah. It is an act of faith. In the TV show they are casting their bread upon the water, and they do make it.
  18. I knew about the cult, but not this bit of news, any of the Cally Tytol connection. Uh, thanks?

  20. The circumstances the video were sot under were not ideal. the pollution was eating at the permafrost. The room under tslal was likely part of the lab, dug when it was built. The ice caves may have been a natural feature at some point and some distance from the structure but likely were expanded by global warming and pollution.
  21. https://apple.news/APsmw4mTBSFeYsfqQsSVXWw hollywood reporter it really sounds ss if it was a completely joyful and positive experience for everyone making the show. The actors all want more, although it seems unlikely. This is a wow, too.
