  1. I suppose Lucy was somehow stuck in the past, and poor Andy with her, so she could be at the right place to get that call. Now she can man the full switchboard and the sheriff's department will save money by dropping a position? Diane remembers everything, so presumably she remembers Cooper raping her. Does she also remember everything her tulpa did? It seems to me that Cooper probably experienced what Dark Cooper was doing, at least while he was in the lodge. This is a whole lot to process, people. I wonder what Dougie does with these memories? Be happy to not be having adventures anymore? Also, the guy who was ripping off his own face? WTF was the point? I think the set up for episode 18 is that Cooper has lost Laura, he has the coordinates to find her given to him at some time or another.
  2. I already wrote and lost a long message, so irritating. Also, this story was shot, a lot of it, in the almost complete dark. I understand HDR, but still, really? However the room he opened with the 315 key was past electrical boxes, in the basement of the Great northern. I think they reused the keys. No idea how he found it, maybe the hum. I guess the 315 room was a teleporter, like Evil Coop used to get from Wyoming to the Sheriff's Station in Twin Peaks. Jerry! I suspected the Hornes would get some sort of resolution, and the resolution is that life goes on and Ben will just clean up after them and be exasperated. Dune is all exposition, it always has been part of Lynch's fabric, but this also was the last time we saw the FBI group. Tammy stayed quiet, this was Albert and Cole. "I couldn't do it." "You're getting soft" "Not where it counts." "I understand." "I know you do." There is a lot of love and respect and demonstration of that relationship there, and I have no issues with them going out on that note, with a little exposition thrown in. speaking of Dune, the big cooper head translucency seems to me very ;much like Dune. He was leaving and in this moment, because of what he was doing, he would be remembered as something greater than a man. Not that he wanted that. My problem with Judy and the idea that we are all the pawns of these forces is that it is taking away some of the meaning of the show. Sarah Palmer, and count me confused about her scene stabbing that picture, earned a lot of pain. Husband rapes and kills daughter, rapes her, good reasons why she would sit in the dark and drink and smoke herself to death (along with beef jerky, which is probably carcinogenic, nitrites). So, she's just possessed by an evil spirit? Huh? I guess Judy is the white blobby thing, so it did come up a few times. No one will convince me that the tea kettle is not deliberately a tribute to Bowie. It is the Tin Machine.
  3. I may, too, although my first choice was log lady. This sounds simpler and one would always have bob to talk to if conversation flagged.
  4. That's life.
  5. I haven't watched this. Damn it's a mormon show. Like battlestar galactica, which is deliberately based on Mormon lore (glen larson was Mormon). I'm not making some weird disparaging comment, they don't call it the first science fiction religion for nothing. The lost thirteenth tribe went to space.
  6. The tulpa establishmed it as one of her skills. God, past or present?
  7. I saw someone on the subway this morning who looked like Duncan Todd. Black baseball hat, black shirt, almost a members only jacket. Probably going to a job in the service industry. Also a Sontaran who had let himself go to hell. Its the morning after. Ill need to wach again, later today before I can form a coherent response I get involved in small parts of this show and then in the next part and it all seems episodic. Episode 17 was the end of the world as we know it I'm pretty clear the Audrey we watched live in the new world, which isn't our world because Cooper and 'Laura' drove by the RR diner. I think the roadhouse is a gateway but not sure it is important No one here has mentioned the dead man in faux Laura's house. Violence is still with them.
  8. I think we were meant to see the difference between that scene and dougie' sex scene. When she sees herself leaving? She stays to figure out if she can stay?
  9. I want these moments every week. I've enjoyed this forum and will miss it. I've enjoyed typing to everyone!
  10. The bits of people's lives you overhear in a bar! But we met Richard Horne in the bar and saw more of him. Saw Shelly first as a glimpse in a bar. They are part of the real fabric of the town than what happens in a box. May or may not be meta. Probably means Audrey is not in a coma? Im not sure I have all the clues I need.
  11. I get it, it is fictional. Still so much of it is a system that is a set up for Veronica if Jason dohring played the titular role would there be a problem? No just teenage Travis McGee here! It is so unusual to find a show where all of the men in the show tell a young woman what is wrong about her behavior and how she should listen to them. Refreshing! Usually young women are allowed to take risks and learn from their mistakes and are praised for their willingness to act decisively, with assurance and agency and independence. I wonder if there could be a hidden something hinted at in these exchanges? Is Veronica not the beneficiary of truly benevolent advice? Cannot be! oh the characters are different Keith is the good patriarchy and lamb the bad . If Logan truly believed Veronica was as strong as a man he'd have to admit his mom could have taken him and left Aaron. I have no issues with Wallace, who is adorable i just rewatched the twin peaks pilot. Doc haywards response to Donna's running away to see James after curfew showed so much respect and trust. Damn. Keith was not the best dad on tv.?
  12. I think Bradbury was the best, a truly great short story writer! Less with the novels, I think. In some ways, like in F. 451, a better futurist, or at least as good as the others. He got a lot right, he just didn't like it.
  13. Well mike could also be making a deal with Dale. Dale leaves the family to fight bad Cooper and get the lodge on track with Bob and mike makes a new Dougie. Still I think there is some hint of understanding in their interaction, some closeness..
  14. The Bookhouse Boys Reading Hour Travel Light, Travel your Mind with Jerry Horne
  15. Good Cooper was in there 25 years. I get the impression he is friends with the one armed man but not the disembodied arm.
  16. Chantal and Hutch, the early years? Bobby and Shelly, anatomy of a marriage? Anything, really.
  17. The Diane thing is confusing. Tulpas, according to Wikipedia (anyway) don't have to look like their originator and Naido could be a tulpa of the soul, even a piece of Diane torn off at the time of her death during the rape. Some of that stuff we saw leaving the hit and run victim. That would make the tulpa that looked like her frantic since she would remember dying and might explain why Naido is so strange. Remembering that mr C wanted bureau news and may have made the Tulpa Diane to feed him that news. He may not have planned to kill Diane. That may be why she quit the FBI, in the end she was strong willed and could defy him to some extent. Staying away from the FBI is passive, I'm sure the drugs helped her stay away even if that was her purpose. Diane talking about how happy she was to see Cooper broke my heart. What place is he looking for? It does sound like the entrance to Garland's pocket universe since the coordinates showed up on Ruth's arm. Or Garlands arm. You know, that arm with the coordinates. Yeah, I'm pretty sure on second viewing that the hair/seed is replacing Dale in Janey-e's arms. I'm also sure that dad could drive and play catch. I don't know what I was thinking. I believe he left the ring under the pillow. I don't think he plans on returning to the lodge. Although the ring has a way of showing up where it is needed. I think. Maybe.
  18. It has been mentioned that Logan wasn't a major character as the show started, only meant to be in one or two episodes, and I think it took them a while to figure out how to write him into the story as a bigger character. One who is having a mostly one sided hugely romanticized in his head storyline. Veronica never learns the half of it, I expect.
  19. I really want law enforcement to communicate via fashion cues. Love Lil.
  20. I'll go check..
  21. Also puzzled. There is something about shadowself. You meet and conquer your shadowself in the lodge on your way to perfection. 2nd season? I think dark coop is Cooper's shadowself and they will meet and, to borrow a phrase, there can be only one. I think this is where he/they are headed. The spacial contraption could be a gigantic dictating machine. But I digress. I think albert's blue rose story indicates a tulpa could be a shadow self. However there are also manufactured beings. Maybe those are the tulpas exclusively and the blue rose story was about one of the fakes. Maybe naido is Diane's shadow self, much altered by sound waves. Diane herself is elsewhere, maybe in that dimension where garland was, and the constructed one we just saw go poof was just that, set into place along with dougie by dark Cooper. The ring is a puzzler. Is coop to put the ring on dark Cooper or defend himself from bob?
  22. I really think he stayed dougie for so long because something in him did don't want to wake up. We saw him waver at the edge for a long NGOs time. He has a son, coffee and cherry pie, after all. Also so there's that saliva bubble story, which would support that idea. However I can see him having no choice.
  23. This is still possible. If we go back to the dutchmans we may see a flash of his face.
  24. I also think it is possible we'll have alternate universe endings.
