  1. I’ve now caught up with episodes 3 & 4 and man this non-linear flashback storytelling is SHIT. They have completely killed anything dramatic or suspenseful about the characters and their storylines. Half the time they are talking to people and I keep getting confused thinking “Did I forget where we met them?” only to find out they didn’t introduce them yet. The characterizations and new actors are almost all (ahem Mother Abigail wtf?) just as good, or in the case of Harold, a huge improvement over the original, but then they just destroy the actual story. I remember when I first saw it, Nick was my favorite and and I was so emotionally invested in his storyline but this time? Ehh. Not really caring that much about Nick. Because we have not gotten the chance to be with these characters for a while and know them as individuals before they all get together. Telling their stories in flashbacks robs them of any kind of urgency. So far the only person they have told correctly is Lloyd. Imagine how shit it would be if we first met Lloyd in Vegas and then they flashed back to his time starving in prison? That’s what they are doing to every other character! This show is really such a disappointment.
  2. Instaget FJ for me tonight. I laughed at middle guy’s answer. I like the new champ and her gutsy DD wager.
  3. I mean, what would have been gained by telling a grieving parent, “Yes, she did suffer. She suffered horribly and died a terribly painful death.” 🤷‍♀️
  4. It was just dashcam footage from the Camry. He didn’t film him on his phone.
  5. Right, during Mickey’s trial it was mentioned that after he was killed other girls came forward to say they had also been abused, so later on they had a lot more damning evidence. But at the time of the murder, as far as I remember the only evidence was the computer history and the girl saying he was the father, which at the time was questionable because of her conflicting statements of how she got to the hospital. I’m still a bit confused on that. She said she remembered being taken to the hospital by the foster dad but she was found on the street? So did she actually run away and then pass out? Or did he leave her bleeding out somewhere?
  6. But Liv said she thought he was guilty so therefore he did it, no more evidence needed, case closed! Who even needs trials anymore, Liv is never wrong! 🙄 I think it would have been more interesting if it had turned out that the foster father was actually innocent. At the time of the murder, he had only been accused and the only evidence against him was that his computer was used to search for abortion pills. Because there is no way the girl could have used a computer to search since he took away her phone... I guess vigilantism is OK if Liv says you are guilty, the courts be damned. And yeah, watching this after Wednesday, seeing an armed white bearded vet take the law into his own hands has a different color to it now.
  7. I’m not sure I agree that the experiment being faulty means the writers did a bad job because I thought that was the point? That Rachel Griffith’s character has basically gone off the deep end, possibly exacerbated by her sons actions, and recruited several people to follow her “mission”, but that us the viewers know it’s all screwed up and failing and doesn’t really make sense. I didn’t get the sense that we were supposed to be on her side. I did like that they included the glimpse of the Twilight of Adam island because of course she would need a control group to prove her theory. re: Leah’s birth certificate, I just assumed that since the writer was someone famous another of his fans (or exes) had seen them together and did a little research into Leah’s background. I don’t think there was any kind of conspiracy around it, that was just Leah’s mind going crazy.
  8. I had the exact same feeling. Plus the over-the-top performative display of all the tons of sexy-times they’re for sure having together. Their whole routine felt very fake. “I cried and said I had a brain aneurysm, why aren’t they throwing money at me??!” I think overall this was one of the worst episodes ever. The sports drink was dumb and no different from the 100s of other sports drinks already on the market. To me that lady came across as a huckster. She had no business plan of how to actually get shelf space other than “I always win and I’m coming to get that ass!” as if that is supposed to mean something. And notice how worried she started to look when Barbara said she had to get one of the sponsors for the deal to go through. She knows she isn’t getting any sponsor, that deal is going to implode, I would bet on it. The chair seemed like a good product, but for $799 fuck that, and that guy only owned 5% so they couldn’t even negotiate with him. And having Bieber as a spokesman makes me like it even less. Sports trophy guys seemed like a couple of douchey dude-bros. Guess they found a good partner in Mark but that’s a boring product for a stupid niche market.
  9. No. Jim bet to be ahead of her by $1. If she bet it all she’d have, $24,000, Jim won with $24,001.
  10. That was Hugh Jackman singing “Once Before I Go” from the musical “The Boy From Oz.”
  11. That final tribute with that song. 😭😭😭😭😭
  12. For a second when they showed the Harriet Tubman one I thought it was Samuel L Jackson wearing his trademark backwards Kangol hat! 😆
  13. I don’t see anything in the TV guide about a special after Jeopardy tomorrow evening?
  14. Instaget FJ for me tonight, but that’s only because I had just watched Wonder Woman right before Christmas so I could watch the sequel. (Actually if this episode had originally aired when first scheduled I would not have know the answer.)
  15. Wow, Jeopardy is actually being shown! 🥳
  16. So since Jeopardy will almost certainly not air on ABC at 7 tonight, anyone know how to watch it in the NYC area? Sometimes I've seen people say it was broadcast on a different channel at the same time? Now Agent Orange is depriving us of some of our last moments of Alex. 🤬
  17. What a lame thing for people to get worked up about.
  18. What did he do that makes him “a garbage human”? I only know him from the show so he seems fine to me.
  19. Not a clue for FJ. I guessed Louisiana and Georgia just because those have names in them. I don’t know how we were supposed to know they had the same name. The clue said named for “father and son” which pointed me in the direction of two names. And it would never occur to me that “Carolina” is from Charles. 🤷‍♀️ Sad Brayden is gone, I really enjoyed him.
  20. No. Stop claiming that. There you go again, falsely saying Spring. It will not be Spring 2021. Vaccinations will not be available to the general public that early.
  21. Damn, Alex had me crying within seconds of the show starting with that speech. How especially meaningful that is now. 😭
  22. Same. I’ve never liked Yaz, she has bugged me since the very beginning. Bradley Walsh was great and was the only one of this batch I actually liked. (He is far and away the best actor of them all. Ryan is so damn wooden.) I found Yaz’s bitterness at the Doctor being gone for ten months so freaking annoying! Hello, the Doctor was imprisoned for decades, how about a little sympathy for that!? Nope, it’s just “Me, me, me. Why didn’t you think of meeeee!?” Of course, another problem related to that is that for the viewer, the Doctor’s long time in jail wasn’t really communicated that well. We know she was there a long time but we don’t feel it. When Capaldi’s Doctor was stuck in that castle trying to break out, we really got a sense of eons passing and the utter weight and despair and longevity of it all. Here it was more, “The Doctor has been imprisoned for a long time, here is Jack to break her out! All is good!” It does not feel like decades have actually passed for her in any meaningful way.
  23. I did somehow come up with Hades but it wasn’t because I actually knew the answer. It was pretty much a guess in that the only Greek god I can think of who has “a domain” is Hades ruling the Underworld and the Underworld is really deep, so... But I had zero clue they were brothers or even that Poseidon has any brothers!
  24. Jack said he spent 19 years getting to the cell next to the Doctor, so she was there a long time.
