  1. You could always simply not watch it.
  2. AKA “They decided to U-Turn us so automatically that makes it a bad decision.” It turned to be the correct choice for the NFL team to make, the only real reason Aparna didn’t like it is because it went against her. Her team sucked the entire game, they were always weak and in the back.
  3. Going back to the previous show’s FJ, the “supernatural” bit had me thinking ghosts so I went with Jacob Marley. It wasn’t a bad guess really, that book was also written mid 19th century! Never would have thought of Moby Dick in a million years.
  4. I couldn’t even concentrate on the story this episode, because I was too angry at how completely irresponsible I feel this season is being. I don’t know what the creators were thinking, but yeah great way to celebrate Christmas: having tons of strangers interacting in person indoors with not a mask in sight and then having a huge family gathering with people coming from all over. Why did they start this season explicitly about the pandemic and Bow seeing so much horror working in a hospital if they were then going to pretend it never happened? I don’t know when they filmed it, but this episode is really airing at the wrong time. They should have simply ignored it from the beginning. All I can see when watching now is how stupid every character is being and it’s a terrible image to portray.
  5. Aparna at the beginning of the episode: "From here on it's every team for themselves so we will feel no regret U-Turning anybody ahead." Aparna after someone else dared to use the U-Turn on her: "[To De'angelo] Fuck you!" constant bitching and whining about karma
  6. Aw sad TJ lost, he was really fun. I’m just glad the guy on the right didn’t win, his voice was so monotone.
  7. I thought they didn’t know where the other two teams were, just that Eshwar and Aparna was definitely behind them. I suppose they should have realized that no one was ahead of them since the U-Turn hadn’t been played, but Will and James already used their U-Turn this season so doesn’t that mean they couldn’t use it this time anyway? That’s how it’s worked in the past... They could have picked the Beard Bros, but then the Beards would have just U-Turned Eshwar and Aparna anyways.
  8. Wait so being engineers didn’t help Eshwar and Aparna make tiles? I hate teams that get all bitter & angry about being U-Turned. Actually yelling “Fuck you!” to other racers? So glad to see the last of them. Teams that get all butthurt about being U-Turned can piss off. It’s a RAAAAACE! Despite the stupid alliance. Congrats on behaving like a spoiled toddler having a tantrum.
  9. I got FJ immediately but then started second guessing myself since I read “syllable” and my brain interpreted it as “word” and started thinking “How is om a combination of many sounds? It must be a longer word...” 🙄
  10. Yes. This. The alliance was a great thing for the teams in it, because it worked and they are all now in the top five. So for the racers, an alliance does make sense. It just makes the show completely boring to watch. It’s exactly like the “suggestion” someone made to give the racers cell phones and GPS so they can get around without getting lost. Sure, that would make it much easier for the racers, but would suck to watch for the audience. I really hope that if they do come back TPTB add in some kind of penalties for outright giving answers to others teams. Was anyone else thinking there was going to be a penalty for Hung and Chee switching Detours? I know they have always been able to switch in the past but the clue seemed to make such a big deal out of picking “This” or “That” without actually giving them any info on what they were choosing that I thought there would be consequences for switching. Otherwise what was the point of picking a Detour with no info if as soon as you got there you could switch if it didn’t sound good? And please stop with all the “OMG MEGA LEG!!!” nonsense. How was this leg any different from all the many legs they have run in previous seasons where teams get to the mat only to find out “You’re still racing! Here is your next clue!” Those legs seem much harder to me since the teams don’t expect it to continue. This time they knew it would be longer so, meh. They didn’t even have to travel anywhere else which they have in previous double legs so this one honestly seemed pretty lame and really easy. I see why this season was shelved for so long. I imagine they probably wouldn’t have even chosen to air it at all and would have just continued filming new ones had the pandemic not forced their hand and this was what they were stuck with.
  11. Calling Leo's response "mocking" is kind of a strange interpretation. I just re-watched the scene. Will & James started to give an obviously fake explanation as if they didn't target Leo & Alana specifically but just randomly chose them. They started to say, "We thought that we were la- of the four remaining teams-" and then Will interrupted their bullshit and said "We thought you U-turned us!" Literally a 5-second exchange. If that is why Will & James dislike them, then I have even less respect for them than I did before, if that is even possible. Whiny assholes.
  12. Well that basically amounts to the same thing though. Do an extra task that takes time or have time added to your check in arrival, pretty much the same. They’ve played around with the penalties for the NEL in the past. In fact I think one season they did get a time penalty where unless they won the following leg they would have to wait out a 30-minute (or maybe an hour?) penalty. I think it was the one with the “Back Pack” alliance, and one of the teams let them win to avoid the penalty.
  13. No, the clue clearly did not say to look for the letters, since everyone who went (and wasn’t given the answer ahead of time) had no idea what the judge was talking about when she said to unscramble the letters. They were all “...letters?”
  14. I wonder if the Beard Bros had gotten that Speed Bump if they actually would have been made to shave (and if they would have done it!) I think I remember a task in a previous season where couple had to glue stuff to each other’s faces and someone with a beard had to shave it.
  15. Yeah, I don’t know why there wasn’t. The clue clearly said “park in front of the hotel.” They didn’t park in front of the hotel. 🤔
  16. As a viewer, this alliance is really starting to annoy me. We were spoiled the chance to see many teams having a meltdown when they couldn’t figure the sauerkraut puzzle. Just telling the answer to 5 teams takes so much of the fun out of watching it. 😑
  17. OK, maybe I will check out season 1 then! It seems from what I've been reading online that most people think Season 4 is the weakest one, so perhaps I will give the first one a chance, since it is so well-liked.
  18. And that episode has solidified my decision to not bother watching any other seasons of this show. I’ll stay til the end of this one just because I want to see what happens with Jack Huston’s character, but I am so over Noah Hawley’s “weird for weird’s sake” type writing. I bailed after season 2 of Legion for the same reason.
  19. The Liftid people reminded me of the two cult leaders in “The Vow.” They seemed like such bullshit artists. I hate that Shark Tank gives a platform to charlatans like this, but at least no one was taken in by them. The fitness hose looked pretty cool but unless I missed it she never even said what they sell for? I would love to try the bee wine, it sounded like something I would really enjoy but $39+ per bottle!? No freaking way! Mark was 100% correct on that, he must get the price point around $15 if he actually wants to build a customer base. If that wine was sold for $15 I would go out tomorrow and buy a bottle no hesitation.
  20. I didn't even realize there was a character named Nia. There is nothing "obvious" about it. A Black woman uses "big words" so that means her and Jonah will be a couple? That's an, uh, interesting POV.
  21. OK. You can choose to mispronounce whatever words you like, I would guess there aren't any other people in the world who would purposely pronounce an S like a K, without it being a flub, but it's the equivalent of Jeopardy negging a player for saying "passgetti" for "spaghetti."
  22. I’d be lying if I said I haven’t done that exact same thing. 😂
  23. I don’t understand why you would pronounce the third syllable with a K sound. Is there any word in the English language where an S is pronounced as a K?
  24. No. He said cuh-caw-cus. If he had said cuh-caw-sus, with an S, he wouldn’t have been penalized.
  25. That would be so boring and take all the drama out of the race. Half the fun of the show is watching people try to figure out how to get somewhere and getting extremely lost. “Hey Siri, where is Bercy?” would be dull to watch.
