I really don't see them giving Arya the Cersei kill since they gave her the NK one. And I personally would not want them to go there either because a selfish part of me knows there will be backlash from certain fans if they give her both and frankly, I would rather not wade through all the internet discourse regarding it. Also, I think post-NK kill, the rest of her story is going to be her learning to let go of that list. I do think they're going to have her and the Hound kill the Mountain together (or at least have her help him out in some way). They are clearly building up that relationship again for a reason. Anyway, huge fan of Arya killing TNK. I do think it could have been executed better but I have zero issues with her being the one to do it. In a way, I'm glad because it almost makes her time in Braavos worth it and I know that was a chore to sit through so at the very least they found a way to make it matter.

I wish they had just faded to black after the kiss (just cause we've seen Maisie grow up on-screen so it's always going to feel a little weird) but for the most part, I really liked the Gendry/Arya stuff because Arya clearly has all the power in that relationship and it was nice to see two, consenting adults who are into each other (and not related) have a nice positive sex scene together cause god knows that seems rare on this show. I also super enjoy that Arya's form of flirting is talking about weapons and showing them off and Gendry is simultaneously scared of her and also into it. Honestly, I thought this was one of the best episodes they've had in ages. Some really great character and relationship moments which of course will just make the heartbreak in the next eps even worse.

I think the Jordan casting is genius. They needed to cast someone who can match Noah in charm and Jordan is insanely charismatic. Was really disheartened to see so much casual racism displayed with regards to his casting from the fans, I get that John Ambrose was white in the books and I feel a little bad for the dude at the end of the last movie who showed up for 5 seconds (although fans going "he was the PERFECT choice" as if he had more than 5 seconds of screen time sure is something), but people acting like this is some kind of a big betrayal of the source material should calm down especially when the author themselves approves of the casting. Also, John Ambrose in the books was sweet but he was very vanilla, bland kind of sweet and it'll be interesting to see the kind of energy Jordan brings to the role.

I know Noah is the go-to teen romcom hero now, and I understand why because he's charming and is extremely good at looking at his leading ladies adoringly which is key for a romcom, but this and Sierra Burgess really shows how essential having a really good leading lady is for him to really work for me. He's still charming! But at this point, he's played variations of the same character times now and the only time I've felt any genuine spark is when he's with Lana Condor (who doesn't nearly get enough credit for that movie and that pairing! she's a perfect romcom lead). Obviously the writing also helps! I thought this was an okay film, there's definitely been worse Netflix romcoms, but I agree, it felt very flat.

This show is incredibly bingeable and quite fun. My only real complaint is less the show itself but more how I'm seeing certain people react to the show. It's been really off putting seeing certain people go "Finally a show that's anti-pc and about being REAL men" and especially off putting when its people, mostly dudes, who have somehow seen the entire 10 episodes and have come to the conclusion that the Cobra Kai way is superior in every way even though the final episode is basically Johnny realizing that what he's done is basically teach the same kind of toxic lessons taught to him by an abusive teacher and he's just repeated that cycle. Half of the reason I grew to like the show in the first place is that they had Johnny come to this realization. It's a great first step into him genuinely growing as a person. Of course, Kreese coming back could possibly mess this up and I hope season 2 really delves into that relationship. I do hope Miguel realizes that he's gone too far and doesn't fully turn dark-side. I really liked his relationship with Johnny and if I had to pick between him and Robby, to me, he's by far the better actor and the more interesting character. I care about Robby in that I hope he and Johnny eventually mend their relationship but less so about him as a character whereas with Miguel I genuinely care about what happens to that kid.

Jesus Christ Superstar Live! (NBC) - General Discussion
haje replied to Dee's topic in Jesus Christ Superstar Live! (NBC)
They were smart in surrounding Legend with more experienced theater performers because he was easily the weakest link. He just doesn't have the range, both vocally and acting-wise, but I didn't mind it so much because I thought everyone else around him were great. -
Current Plots Discussion: Actually Today's Episode
haje replied to CatLady's topic in Days Of Our Lives
I really like Paul and Will, there's just something about the actors together that is really working for me, but they would have benefited even more had the show actually taken its time with this "triangle" with Sonny. Have Will actually try to make it work with Sonny for a little bit longer while fighting his attraction to Paul and eventually realize that it's not working and THEN he and Paul slowly become friends (and actually maybe spend time giving us Paul being torn over his growing feelings for Will and his feelings for Sonny) and fall in love, etc. etc and then after establish that relationship have Will get his memory back and be torn between Sonny and Paul (with him ultimately choosing Paul) although frankly I like amnesia! Will quite a bit and hope he doesn't get his memory back lol. But I've given up on soaps wanting to take their time with storylines especially romances these days so I'll take what I can get with them. I only watch this show on and off but I have to say I'm digging Billy Flynn with that facial hair. I wish he was free of this Gabigail storyline and Abigail in general though. There was so much potential with him and Gabi chemistry-wise and they let it all go to waste. What a shame. I want to see him in a fun, soapy romance because BF can bring the funny and this pairing with Abigail makes Chad boring as hell because Marci Miller just seems to lack energy acting-wise. -
I'm catching up on all my soaps recently and this show is clearly trying to push Peter/Maxie and I'm baffled as to why the show hasn't decided to do a slow burn Dante pairing with her instead. That could be a real interesting, soapy romance but instead they're pushing her with some dude she barely knows but then again this show has always missed the mark when it comes to Maxie pairings. And even if they don't want to go there romantically, she and Dante should at least be bonding over their grief for Nathan and yet.. nothing.

I'm a casual DWTS fan but 100% of the reason I bothered to tune into any of the performances this season was because I saw clips of Jordan's performances on youtube. Lindsay and Frankie would have made fine winners as well but I'm glad Jordan pulled through. I'm baffled by the claims I've seen the he's apparently the ringer-iest ringer to be on this show or that he's somehow a professional dancer when from what I've seen of him he's an actor/singer who has had dance experience. How is that any different than some of the people who have been on this show before? His role in Hamilton didn't require any significant dancing. The same goes for Grease Live. Suddenly, he wins and people are acting like it goes against the very essence of the show? The show where Scherzinger won? Meryl Davis won? Also, Jordan's "type" has gone on this show before and not won. Corbin didn't win his season and you could say he and Jordan are very much parallels of each other. The same goes for Zendaya. Just because someone has dance experience and churns out consistently good performances doesn't automatically mean they're going to win the show. Sometimes there are seasons where the "ringers" win the show and sometimes you get seasons where the "ringer" gets shockingly eliminated. This just happened to be the season where one of the so-called ringers won. There'll be other seasons where a non-ringer wins and I'm sure there will be viewers out there who will get angry because said non-ringer wasn't the best dancer but somehow won because they were likeable. Maybe the initial goal when the show started was to have celebrities with absolutely zero dance experience but this show is on its 25th season and it stopped being about that a long time ago.

That argument between Hopper and Eleven is probably some of the best acting on this show ever. Props to Millie and David Harbour for absolutely bringing it. They're easily my favourite dynamic this season. I get that Hopper means well but man, isolating Eleven was such a terrible idea. It's too bad he couldn't have confided in someone like Joyce about this because she absolutely would have given him some much needed advice on how to have handled that entire situation better than he did.

I just finished marathoning this show in the last two weeks and I am so so glad I did. I heard about it when it first premiered but the violence against Max in particular really turned me off the first season, Game of Thrones has already given me my fair share of unnecessary sexual violence against female characters thank you very much, but after hearing about how much it improved in its second season and beyond and that it was ending soon I decided to give it a chance and this show isn't perfect but gosh, season 2 really got things going and I don't think the show ever faltered. It still has its problems but the fact that the show gave us 4 queer main characters, all 3 of whom survive and get a "happy" ending, is incredible. The fact that they gave us Madi, Eleanor, Max, Anne and even the secondary female characters like Miranda, Abigail, Idelle and Grandma Guthrie, who were all fascinating, complicated female characters is something I will be forever grateful for. Toby Stephens was something to behold and I will always be sad he never got the recognition he deserved for playing this character but he'll always have my heart. Flint is one of the best tv characters, performed and written, I have seen in a very long time. The fact that he is a queer character makes him even more special. The speech he gives in the finale to Silver regarding the darkness and illuminating it, taken in context his backstory and his sexuality, is even more of a punch of a gut. I will be forever grateful for this show for this character (and for Max, who I love as well and who I am so happy got her own happy ending).

I don't think they need to boot Kevin but I think either they drastically reduce his role or they figure out what the hell to do with him because the writers seem to have no clue. The same goes with Kate. Kevin's most interesting story is his relationship with his siblings not this whole acting storyline or his love life. The writers seem to want us to care about him and Sophie but when a) they introduce her out of nowhere and b) have given him 3 love interests in the course of one season it certainly doesn't make me care about him or any of these relationships. Explore his relationship with Randall more, his bitterness and anger at Rebecca, etc. He is at his most interesting when they focus on those dynamics more. Out of the 3 siblings, Randall is clearly the character/story the writers seem to have had the best grasp on and with Kevin and Kate they seem to have cared less about crafting an interesting story with them and to me, it really shows.

What this show, to me anyway, has done really well is have all the teens actually have different dynamics with each other. They've done a really good job pairing the characters off each episode which really helps fleshes out different relationships. I do really love Betty and Jughead. Specifically what I love is the unconditional support they've given each other while every thing else in their lives are kind of falling apart. I hope the writers don't add any more unnecessary drama with Archie somehow. Speaking of Archie, I think the show is slowly figuring out what to do with him. He's really at his best when he's the dude who is kind of dumb but often well meaning and genuinely is a nice guy who cares about his friends. More of that less of the music stuff because that tends to isolate him with the rest of the main characters and I think he's at his best when interacting with them.

I marathoned this show over the weekend and I find most of the storylines fairly underwhelming but I just wanted to voice my love for Sterling K Brown and Randall as a character because despite my general meh-ness on the show, especially my annoyance at how the writers have handled Kate and Rebecca, Randall's story is easily the most compelling and to me, features the strongest actors in the cast too. I know SKB from People vs OJ so I knew he could play quiet intensity really well but what really strikes me about him as Randall is his comedic timing. He's got it in spades. He deserves all the love he's getting on this show.

S01.E06: Chapter Six: Faster, Pussycats! Kill! Kill!
haje replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Riverdale
The show probably isn't going to be done with the Veronica/Archie/Betty triangle just because it's such a huge part of the comics but I'd prefer if they just keep Betty/Jughead the way they are and maybe have them be the sort of stable couple of the group while everyone else is off having drama with their love lives. They're cute, partially because I think the actors really make it work (their little small interactions in the background really sell it for me) and Betty is far more interesting when she's not pining for Archie. They still really don't know what to do with Archie as a character but I do think this was a step in the right direction which is basically surround him with characters far more interesting than him. -
The problem with Archie is that he's just far too normal at this point and the writers keep giving him storylines away from the rest of the core group of teens. Everyone else feels like a part of some gothic mystery while Archie is off in his own storylines and he just feels so disconnected from everyone. Veronica came into town just recently and somehow has felt more natural and part of the group dynamic that is Betty/Kevin/Jughead than Archie does even though he has known them for much longer. Hell, they keep emphasizing how Betty and Archie are bffs but have given us barely interaction with them where I truly buy that they've known each other all their lives. Betty and Jughead seem like far closer friends than Archie/Betty or Archie/Jughead at this point.

I would not be surprised if the gay rumours (true or not) around Aaron is a part of the reason for said estrangement. His family seems very typical Conservative Christian. I have a friend who was a huge fan of Aaron be more wary of him because she saw his dad post some bigoted stuff on facebook (typical anti-muslim stuff) and was worried that Aaron felt the same way and she's pretty happy about the fact that he doesn't talk to his family now. I think Aaron is a Christian but definitely not in the way his family seems to be, especially when you see him calling out an anti-muslim fan during a press conference. The gay rumours plus his belief system no longer coinciding with theirs plus the whole Jordan cheating on Olivia Munn's bff stuff probably were enough for him to no longer want to talk them. And frankly, it makes me think better of him.

Aaron Rodgers probably can't be bothered to watch the show but if he did he'd probably be all like: Also, if he's estranged with his family now I'm pretty sure them bringing up his name every chance they get and milking this drama for all its worth will only make him even more estranged from them. Jordan bring JoJo to his old High School is pretty much everything you need to know about him. He's the classic "peaked in High School QB who wants to relive his glory days who also happens to be stuck in the shadow of his more famous, more talented older brother" type.
