  1. so if I was following correctly, both groups arrived mid-day on one day (went biking/skiing) and left mid-day the next? What kind of vacation is that?
  2. John has been so likeable this time around (not that I thought he was that heinous last time-- I happen to be watching his first season on Hulu on my elliptical every morning). There's a calm that often comes with "middle age."
  3. and wouldn't any English-speaker see that spelling and pronounce it "Teeler"?
  4. an ad for tequila
  5. and some of the fans had their "stems" hanging down below the skirt. It looked ridiculous. He can leave soon as far as I'm concerned.
  6. she looked seriously lovely. Especially her hair.
  7. What I have read is that, yes, acid makes beans slow to soften, but the salt thing is an old-wives-tale. And truth be told, I *always* add salt throughout the cooking process (tasting as they cook) so that the beans are "seasoned" (Top Chef word for SALT) all the way through.
  8. And in the main competition, I also think John Tesar is coming across as pretty nice.
  9. I have a huge crush on Bryan V. I organized a whole vacation around going to Volt (we live in NY) and my DH and I had our anniversary dinner there. It was fabulous.
  10. Glad I watched it online. Just one hour, with the "usual" amount of online ads. No PRJ promos either.
  11. Oh man you are right. http://nymag.com/thecut/runway/2017/spring/new-york/rtw/project-runway/60/
  12. in the NY Times today, Is American Baking Really Limited to Fruitcake and Gingerbread? http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/21/arts/television/the-great-american-baking-show-british-bakeoff.html I don't quite understand the title; it seems to be in contradiction to the article.
  13. I think the guest was somewhat condescending in how she phrased things to Nikita ("you're growing and you're going to be great")-- but on the other hand she was completely right. So I think she really felt she was giving constructive criticism. Nikita was a ridiculous, entitled, lazy jerk.
  14. I disagree-- this seems to be set up as a VERY SMALL HOTEL, all-inclusive, with concierge service, outings, dining, etc. So Mark doesn't answer to someone at the ski resort/Whistler. He answers to the manager of his hotel, who is Jamie. Personally I think it's kind of weird to have 8 or however many people, serving 8 or so guests, but I guess it's supposed to be akin the whole yachting thing like Below Deck.
  15. She's gained some weight in her face and does not look as much like "herself" in her season as the other returnees. But she certainly was in the D.C. season! http://www.tvguide.com/celebrities/amanda-baumgarten/photos/304711/
  16. who is Riley? Rik?
  17. I'd like to know whether Mary (or whoever) had the same time limit on baking that partridge in a pear tart?
  18. Was Michael the doctor?
  19. I think that was the first season I watched. I was so intrigued by her "folds" in many of her looks in her collection.
  20. I also have thought a lot of her outfits this season looked like something she picked up in the Walmart pre-teen department. And isn't she one of the one who uses "Junior" as an expletive?
  21. It looked to me like an entry in an "ugly Christmas sweater" contest, though I couldn't get a good look at it. Here's a screen shot.
  22. Can any one explain why Erin was wearing a shirt with Spread (Eagle) on it? What point was she trying to make?
  23. All I could think of is that "holiday" saran wrap you can get in red and green. That's what that pink skirt reminded me of.
  24. Good description!
  25. No, cous cous is made from semolina. Which is wheat. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Couscous It is not gluten free. http://www.newhealthadvisor.com/Is-Couscous-Gluten-Free.html Millet is something else.
