  1. Wow. I can't believe so much hate the designers have gotten from the garments they shown. By that being said I am not trying to defense their garments by any means. I don't think a fashion show should be all about evening wear or gown which we have seen many many times before. C'mon at least they are bold enough to creates their own textile and prints that I hardly see them done during the show. Even it is a little childish or craft looking as other people have said that I do think it is very now and fashion is subjective. It definitely not looking high fashion however its fun to watch which I have to give them the credit. IMO vast improvement compares to season 14 snooze. Meanwhile I don't understand why people are so crazy in love with Mondo's loud prints gimmicky back then but completely turn off or so harsh on Erin's school projects or Rik's ridiculous prints outfits. Just saying.
  2. Personally I think this season was pretty good. None of their design has been ridiculously bad and they made 'pretty dress" quite well. The problem I have with this season is we have been seeing the same silhouette over and over again for most part of the challenges. Some designers has way too similar aesthetic and not really stepping outside their comfort zone during the challenge. They all seem more like ready to wear designer than high fashion except maybe Roberi IMO. I didn't see any draping , gown or something volume or flowy long dress coming from any of them which strikes excitement and that is the reason I think audience are getting bored and underwhelming as the show goes on. Especially with the last two challenges where it suppose to be editorial and bold as well as the time to push their boundaries and instead they making what they good at. Sort of disappointed by that. - Erin standout with her oversize coat, embellishment and yellow. Can she do anything else that fitted human body? Well swim wear challenge prove she can. - Mah-Jing use denim to make a SIMPLE dress for the entire season regardless of what the challenge is. - Laurence did GREAT pants and shoulder treatment all the times. Does it enough to takes her win the whole competition? Absolutely Not (Ashley was the exception by making Crop tops and lace and win the whole thing) - Cornelius said he liked mixing prints but none of it was able to put him through the top 3 (JUST FAB, Cocktail and dress mum challenge was all godawful) This left me wonder who he is as a designer and what he really good at. Lets be honest I find his talent very limited and school project. His final collection shown he has not enough vision and not up to par in a show like NY fashion week. - Rik on the other hand has pretty good craftsmanship and sometimes his design was very bold & slightly creative and sometimes left us questioning his taste. No doubt he is capable of making dresses that are sellable. However those garments usually are not runway appealing and lacking imaginative in my eyes. Last but not least is Roberi who I think is the most sophisticated and imaginative out of this bunch of people. I just think if he were given more time he could creates something couture and wow. His garment was pretty quiet as far for the show. All in all miles ahead of last season. Strong final 4 and well deserve out of these 16 contestants. I strongly believe Cornelius is next to go based on the past performance. I kinda wish Alex is still in the competition for some reason. Just saying.
  3. Well here we go. The designer for each collections in particular order are Laurence - Mah-Jing - Cornelius - Erin - Roberi - Rik. You could have a closer look of each garments from the collection on http://nymag.com/thecut/runway/2017/spring/new-york/rtw/project-runway/. I have to be honest who the hell would thought Mah-Jing and Cornelius could make it to top 6 ? None of their garments really stood out and mediocre at best as far as I concerned. They got really lucky as they did well on the double eliminations challenge. They didn't really bring anything new to the table and get sliding by on the earlier episodes and It shown on how underwhelming their final collection are.
  4. After a double elimination of Dexter and Nathalia on last night episodes It safe to say that the final 6 runway collections belongs to Erin, Roberi, Cornelius, Rik, Laurence & Mah-Jing. The New York fashion week this year was filmed the day before season premier and the collections has been posted on several website back then. I think is a perfect time now for us to deliberate each collections and predict who will be crown as the winner. Collection 1: Love the simplicity of the collection but not wowed. Collection 2: Beautiful textile and very basic silhouettes. Collection 3: Just blah and boring in my eyes. However its pretty on trend. Collection 4: Love it and something I haven't see in a project runway fashion week. Collection 5: Odd combination & beautiful movement for some of the pieces. Collection 6: Very cool and like how he/she styles the models. Ready to wear than high fashion but still one of my favorite out of all these. I bet collection 2 and 3 are the decoy collections and to be honest both of these collection's garment is what we saw on last night episode. Just not enough creativity and repetitive. More importantly it doesn't show any range. The rest I kinda like it in fact each collection looks very different from one and another. These designers seems to have a clear point of view. Overall much much better than season 14 tackiest four or the season before IMO. Who do you think should be the winner? Share your thoughts.
  5. The only editorial look I get was Rik's outfit. The back definitely is a mess but I thought at least it has some cool ideas and creativity put into it. Last season we had saw a similar silhouette from Blake which has major issues in terms of construction and the judge did gave him a win so I am kinda surprised he was on the bottom. On the other hands, Erin definitely has talent and a good eyes for colors without a doubt. however I don't think she really hit the mark of the challenge at all throughout the season except for the 1st and 3rd episodes which was her esthetic and she totally nailed it. The garment she creates this week was probably one of her worst. Cornelius deserved the win in this for sure because the rest is meh. I don't see him last any longer quite frankly especially having a quick look of the final collections of this season. Top 3 will be Erin, Roberi and Rik, or maybe Laurence if there will be another 4 finalist going to fashion week.
